So Pinkas went home and told his wife what had happened. Then they both just sat there, not knowing what to do. Suddenly from their window, something broke the window and burst in. They went over to have a look. Oh, they saw a dead body. Oh! How terrifying. They were starving at that time and they were lacking things, and a dead body was thrown in suddenly from the window. They cried and shouted, saying, “Maybe someone tried to set us up and then say we’ve killed someone. That’s why a dead body was thrown into our house.” That’s what they thought. Someone wanted to hurt them.

But when they looked at it again carefully, they found that it’s the corpse of a monkey(-person). A monkey(-person) corpse, not a human one. Then they heaved a sigh of relief, “Ah! Amitābha Buddha.” Like that. “Oh, then there’s no danger, no danger. All we have to do now is to bury him.” When they began to take the body out and bury it, from the corpse of the dead monkey(-person)’s mouth came out a lot of gold, which surprised them very, very much. Then they cut open the monkey(-person)’s body opening him up. Wow! It was full of pearls. They of course sold those things and then bought the necessities they needed. There was still a lot of money left after they bought those things.

At that time, the rich person, who was very rich, suddenly felt a sense of serious guilt. “Ah, why didn’t I give him? Why didn’t I give him money? He didn’t do anything to us. Why did I suddenly stop giving him money?” He felt great pain and guilt, and he went to the door of the poor man’s house, was about to knock, when Pinkas ran out to greet him and welcome him. After he came in, he saw that his home was different than before. Oh! There were all kinds of good things in the house, very precious, very elegant and valuable things, which filled the house. He was very shocked. Then Pinkas told him the story of the monkey(-person)’s dead body. The rich man said, “Why? That’s my monkey(-person)! I think he just died. How did he end up at your place?” At that moment, they both didn’t know how to explain it.

Then his servant, the servant of the rich man, rushed in and said, “I’m sorry. I was being mischievous. I just wanted to play a joke on them by throwing the monkey(-person)’s body into their house. That’s why he found it.” Then the rich man understood and said, “Oh, so it’s God’s doing. It’s God’s arrangement, which we have no way of understanding.” That’s because of his habit, the rich man’s habit. Every time he saw money or got money, he used his own teeth to bite the coin to find out whether it was real gold or not. Perhaps his monkey(-person) saw him doing that, and then imitated him, and swallowed all the money; bit and then swallowed. And then died because of that. “That’s why you received what was originally my money. Now I understand,” the rich man told the poor man. “Now I truly understand. It’s not I, but God, giving you. So, it’s correct for you to thank God.” Not bad. There is a smell of spiritual practice.

OK. I’ve told you that when we give something, we should not think we are the ones doing the giving. That’s what it means. If that person doesn’t deserve these things, we cannot give to him, no matter how sincere we are. Isn’t it so? (Yes.) His merit and our goodwill should work together. That is number one. Number two, I’ve told you that we come and go empty-handed. What do we truly have to “give” to others? Therefore, when we give things, we should not feel proud. Does this make sense? (Yes.) Yeah. OK. The same, which I have told you, it might be our karma that we owed him something in previous lives, and we came back now to return the favor. What kind of giving is that?

Besides, these days, I’ve read to you the Buddhist stories about karma. You all know why those rich elders could be so rich life after life. It’s all because he gave something in past lives. He might have given just a little, but he gave it to the right person. He gave to the Buddha or Bodhisattva, those great spiritual practitioners, people with great blessed rewards. That’s why he planted only a little bit but reaped a lot. Therefore, we should not be jealous toward rich people, neither should we think of robbing their belongings. When someone gives us something, we shouldn’t be excessively grateful either. Perhaps it’s blessed rewards from God, bestowed upon us by God. Or it’s from our previous lives. What is the so-called “God”? It is our own Wisdom. We have used our Wisdom to do good things before, and now we are rewarded by our Wisdom.

Likewise, when the so-called asylum seekers or other people receive something from us, we may not be the givers. It’s his. It originally was his, and through us we give it back. That’s how it is. We kept it for him till now, and now we return it to him. It’s just like when we dig a well here, and then the water from the well will go to the water tower, which in turn distributes water to our toilets, bathrooms, etc., for everyone to use. The water does not belong to the water tower. The tower should not think that the water belongs to it. It just keeps the water for us to use. We dig the well and then put the water in the water tower in order for us to use. When we know the cause, we won’t be surprised by the effect. I know that I dig the well with my own money. We dig the well with effort, hiring people to dig it, and then ask my disciples to work together to build the water tower. It’s me who put water in there, and now I use the water. Shall I be grateful to the water tower? Understand what I mean? (Yes.) It’s just that the course of “cause and effect” is too long, taking a long period of time, so we forget. Regarding the water tower, we can learn about it, because it’s built in our present time. We know the cause and the effect. It’s just that sometimes it takes too long for the cause to manifest. If it’s last life or many lives before, we will forget. That’s all.

Therefore, when we live in this world, there is always a reason for getting or not getting things. We don’t have to care about who is doing charity or making offerings, and who is the recipient. If you think about it clearly, a wise person should understand this. If we don’t understand, we’d feel uneasy in whatever we do. When we give things to people, we’ll cling to the idea: “I gave him something and he doesn’t thank me. I don’t know what he is going to give me in return or for how long he will remember it.” These things would stay in our heart. And if we receive people’s favor, we’d feel grateful to them, never forget, and then we’d get involved with their karma. Understand? Whenever we think of someone, we’re in connection with them. That’s why I say, do not covet the possessions of others. That’s why. If it comes really naturally, then it’s ours, no need to thank him. But because most people in the world don’t understand this, so when he gives us something, he cannot forget it, thinking that we owe him something. If in the future, he tells us to do something, and we don’t do it, then it’s not good. That’s how it is. That’s why we have to avoid these kinds of things. It doesn’t belong to him. We know that it’s not his belongings, but he doesn’t know. So, we’d better avoid those worldly socializing, thus saving the trouble of having difficulty swallowing it, and difficulty digesting it. Understand? (Understand.) OK.

Time is getting late. We’ll bid farewell for the time being. Come back next week. (OK.) No. Don’t stand up. Thank you for your love, for taking time to come and see me. But today I heard that our weather here in Miaoli is the best. So, you’ve chosen the right place. (It’s Master Who chose it.) Huh? (Master chose it.) I chose it by myself? It’s God Who chose it. Yeah. Because you know how I bought this land. It’s eight o’clock in the evening. There was no… Before we came here, it was a wasteland, without even a tree, only grass. Chicken- and sheep(-people) running around, and there wasn’t even a light. I couldn’t see things clearly. Normally, when buying land, one should check the geography. That should be done in the morning or on a clear sunny day in order to see clearly. I did it at eight o’clock in the evening, when there was no light at all. They just said, “From here to there.” Then I said, “OK. OK. I see. OK. OK. OK.” Viewing the land at 8 PM and signing the contract at 11 PM. At 12 AM, we bought it. In the evening. I didn’t care. I said, “Just leave it to God’s arrangement.” I did receive the instruction from Buddha and Bodhisattva, and that’s why I bought it. I didn’t check any geography at all. How could I check it? How could I check it at 8 PM when it’s all dark? Now we have electricity. We have streetlights and everything. They were not there before. No one lived here. Therefore, it is God’s arrangement. Alright. Bye-bye.

About that, I think… What day is today? (The 19th.) The 19th. I am thinking… When will be our next initiation? How long ago was our last initiation? (May 24.) How long ago? (May 24.) (It’s almost two months.) Two months. (Almost two months.) (Almost two months, in just a few days.) OK. Then, next week we’ll hold an initiation for you, and then... Not for you, for… for those you ask to be initiated. Because after two weeks, I’ll be going abroad again. (OK.) Originally, I wanted to stay here for retirement. It turned out today I received a phone call. I’ll be going abroad again. I have to. Otherwise, I’d just stay here.

God really blessed me. Because I eat very little every day. (Too little.) So is my sleep. When I’m lying on the bed, I only think of work. Dealing with official duties in bed. Handling official duties by phone in bed. (“Working when sleeping.”) “Working while lying down.” (“Working while lying down.”) Therefore, there’s a lot of work. Sometimes it can be very stressful. It’s because of God’s Blessing that I manage to survive. Otherwise, I think… my health is not so good. I’m not very strong. I’m not bigger or taller than any of you. It’s really God’s Blessing. (Yes.) Alright. This body is still useful, thus Hes keeps it for the time being. Hes doesn’t care whether I eat or not. Hes continues to keep this body which Hes still wants to use.

OK. Good night, everyone. (Good night, Master.) (Your dress is longer.) What did you say? (It seems Master’s dress today is longer.) Longer, huh? Yes, yes, yes. That’s right. It’s really very long. She deliberately made it this way to give me trouble. (No. It’s very beautiful.) (Very beautiful.) (Beautiful.) (Very beautiful.) Beautiful? Then you wear it yourselves. Why don’t you wear beautiful clothes? You have choices. (Different taste.) I’ve told you before, that my clothes are cheaper than your “lousy” clothes. Just a different way of making them. Understand? (Understand.) The money spent is about the same or even cheaper than yours. Because we made it ourselves, the labor cost is on us, and it’s our own design. The fabrics are very cheap in Taiwan (Formosa). You’ve chosen “ugly” clothes for yourselves. Not my fault. But I’ve also said it wrongly. I have wronged you. Because the clothes I wear normally last a long time. If you wear this, it might be gone in two days. With holes here and there. It’s different. Since childhood, my clothes have always lasted a long time. My movements are not rough.

Goodbye. (Goodbye. Goodbye, Master.) (Take care, Master.) Anyone who hasn’t seen me? Raise your hand. Those who haven’t seen me, raise your hand. Take a few more looks at me. (Hallo, Master.) Hallo. (Bye, Master.) OK. Bye. Thank you. (Bye.) Thank you for your love. (Thank You, Master.) (Bye, Master.) (Take care, Master.) (Bye, Master.) (Thank You, Master.) So beautiful. (Say “Thank You, Master.”) This foot. Oh, she doesn’t feel itchy. Do you feel itchy or not? So beautiful. Our children are so charming. Yes. This is too long. You’ve seen me several times. I look only at those who haven’t seen me. Always looking at the same people. There are too many children; I can’t see all of them. Today I have no time to give you a ride. There’ll be next time, another time. I love playing with you. But sometimes I’m just too busy. (Master.) (Here. Say “Master. Hallo, Master.”) Oh! This one is also beautiful. (Hallo, Master.) Another beautiful one. (Master.) (Say “Hallo, Master.”) (Master.) These two? (Yes.) Are they yours? (Yes.) Oh, take a good look. Your teeth are gone. (He’s changing teeth.) Oh. Will they grow again? Will the teeth grow back? (They will. They will. His baby teeth have just changed.) Very small. Kids are all so beautiful. Can’t finish looking. Go. Bye. (Bye.) Thank you all.

I didn’t see you just now. (Master, I was in front.) (Yes.) Yes? (Yes.) (Yes. She was there.) (Hallo, Master.) Hallo. (Hallo, Master.) Hallo. Hallo. (Hallo, Master.) (Master has patted your head.) (Hallo, Master.) Sleeping? (Yes.) How old is she? (Ten months old.) Ten months and you also brought her here? (Yes.) From such a long distance, is it OK with her? (She’s used to it. She comes to see Master almost every week.) Really? (Yes.) She’s sleeping so sweetly. (Thank You, Master.) I’m tired. I’m taking the car. (Thank You, Master.) I’m taking the car. (Beautiful.) Thank you all. (Thank You, Master.) (Goodbye, Master. We’ll come to see You next week.) (Goodbye, Master.) (Bye-bye.) (Goodbye Master.)

Girls can also be guards, are you joking? Do the kids have anything? (Yes.) Do you refill them every day? (Yes, we do.) Huh? (We put [vegan] rice crackers every day.) How about on Sundays? (They will get it when leaving. We distribute to everyone.) You do? (Yes.) I used to give it especially to the children. But lately… Alright. (It’s mine if I pick it up.) You’re the most beautiful boys and girls. (Very beautiful.) Taiwanese (Formosans) are the most beautiful, right? (Not as beautiful as Master.) Of course I’m better than the disciples. You can’t possibly. (Here, here, here.) No need to pick it up. (Pick it up.) No need to pick it up. (No need to pick it up.) No need to kneel. Just look at my eyes. (OK.) It’s tiring to kneel. You’ve stood for the whole day and now still kneel. Still absorbing the energy of the rose flower now and then. (Master said that the attendant…) He used to absorb the energy of trees. (Tree energy. I don’t do it anymore.) (The master of tree energy.) The queues are getting longer. But what you’ve received slipped out (on the ground) through the hole. (Thank You, Master.)

You guards work the hardest. (Master works hard, too.) (Master also works hard.) (We all work hard.) Following me around, and yet people misunderstand you. (We love working with Master.) You like it. I’ll reward you with more (vegan) food when I have time. (Thank You, Master.) (OK.) (The more we eat, the more we sweat.) (Tell him to wear more.) (Quickly pick them up.) (Pick them up.) (Are these to be brought back to the guard team?) Yes. All of them. (OK. All of them?) Yes. (Thank You, Master.) (Brother hasn’t taken it. Take it quickly.) Come. He doesn’t need it. Crying is enough for him.

Thank you for all your support. (Thank You, Master.) (Thank You, Master, for Your care and concern.) I know you are the most sincere. (When is Master going abroad?) In about two weeks. Will come back. (When will You be back?) Probably just a short time. (Thank You, Master.) I’ll be back before long. Because people invited me to give lectures, so I’ll do it by the way. On the other hand, it’s also about the refugees, to visit those presidents. (Yes.) (Got it.) Otherwise, why do I have to go there? (Thank You, Master.) (See You again, Master.) (Goodbye.) (Bye-bye.) Tong, come up here. (Bye-bye.) (Goodbye, Master.) (Bye-bye.)
