During the Dragon Boat season, it is traditionally a time in China to develop balance and harmony between the mind, body, and nature to build up disease resistance to ensure wellness over summer. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine theories, we must refrain from doing three things to maintain good health when the yang energy is at its peak. First, we must abstain from raw and cold foods in the evening, as they are hard to digest. Second, we should not take cold water baths. Our sweat glands and skin pores are open in the hot summer months. Taking a cold shower will make our body vulnerable to cold air, leading to an imperceptible loss of our yang energy. Third, we should not sleep exposed to the cold air at night.

The “Eight Principles” refer to “yin and yang,” “exterior and interior,” “cold and heat,” and “deficiency and excess.” However, Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners believe that the vegetarian diet is good for health, because in the “Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic,” a lot of emphasis is placed on meat-eating being a potential cause of various kinds of diseases.

SHARAN has a five-point plan; the first is, everything should be plant-based. We are not strict, that don't eat rice or don't eat wheat, but at least, let it be plant-based. Number two is that it should be whole; that means we never use sugar or white flour or white rice or oil. We actually cook without oil. So, we don't use any refined foods and we don't even peel the vegetables. The third is that, we are the only species that sprays poison on our food, so that other animals won't eat it; and then we eat it. No wonder we are sick. And then the last two are check and supplement vitamin B-12 and vitamin D.

First, we are going to mix the cooked mung beans, with fresh pressed coconut milk. So, we mix this. Then we start heating it, and we add the organic jaggery to it for sweetness. So, you keep stirring it and bring it to a boil. You just cook it for a few minutes. Then once it starts boiling, just mix it once in a while. When you add jaggery and then boil the coconut milk. And now we are going to add some cardamom powder for flavor. After adding the cardamom, you don't cook for very long. Just a little boil and then you switch it off. Yes, so the sweet is done. We are going to garnish it with some almond slices. And some raisins. And that's it!

Everybody’s worried, but little is done. What we need now is action, action from the governments to inform people and to reinforce the new life-saving diet. That’s the vegan diet. I hope the governments would please, make it into law to forbid the killing of animals, to forbid any more animal livestock raising. If they are truly the leaders that pledge to protect their people, to improve their country in many aspects, then this is the first step we have to do. Stop the meat industry, stop the fish industry, stop the dairy industry, then our planet will be the way it was and even better.

As a way of promoting a healthy plant-based lifestyle, the Vegan Society has been actively encouraging the UK government to change their existing policies, they’re calling for those subsidies to be moved to healthy plant foods, push government money to sponsor the foods that are good and sustainable for people, so will got an all-round benefit to it.

This kind is home cooking. Cut the tofu, vegan ham and pumpkin into cubes. If you don’t have any machine, chop the peanuts with the back of a knife. Put one tablespoon of vegan butter in the pan, put in tofu, vegan ham and stir fry a little bit. Put in pumpkin, peanuts and one bowl of water, cook boil and simmer until the pumpkin is soft. Put in one cube of vegetable broth, a little pepper, two or three tablespoon of Maggi depends on your taste. If you like, when it’s almost cooked, put in two tablespoons powder to thicken the broth.
