Aulacese (Vietnamese) traditional medicine practitioner Huynh Sang shares his near-death experience in which he visited Heaven for two days and nights.
After returning from the market one day, Sang ate, rested, suddenly felt ill, and lost consciousness. Believing him dead, his family prepared for his funeral—buying a coffin, setting up an altar with incense and offerings, and weeping over his body.
While unconscious, Sang’s soul left his body and saw it lying cold on the bed. Two tall, imposing spiritual Beings appeared, mounted a white horse, and took him down a long, straight path. Along the way, they passed two giant buffalo-like Creatures, which the Beings said were “Living Buffalo” serving the Buddha (vegan)
They reached a magnificent radiant palace with golden roofs and floors. Inside was a vast lotus pond with vibrant flowers— some bright and colorful, others dark and wilted. When he touched a bright lotus, one of the Beings warned him not to, saying bright blooms represented people of great merit and virtue, while dark blooms symbolized those lacking good deeds. They told him, “You reap what you sow,” indicating that one’s actions on Earth directly impact one’s place in the afterlife.
Sang then saw a massive Snake coiled across the path, which the Beings said was a Guardian Spirit. Sang was led through twelve gates, each adorned with Chinese characters he couldn’t read. He asked about people he knew, like those he’d seen at funerals, and was told that some had already “transcended” or moved on to another existence, while others remained due to unresolved karma.
The Beings then told Sang his time in the afterlife was incomplete but warned him not to reveal certain details. He was allowed to send a message to his wife, who cared for him deeply, urging her to continue her spiritual devotion. On the third day— the 15th of the lunar month— Sang awoke, shocking his grieving family.
However, upon sharing secret details of his near-death experience, Sang faced immediate consequences. He suffered a stroke, leaving him paralyzed and mute for 18 months. He believed this was Divine punishment. Later, he experienced recurring strokes, which he also saw as retribution for speaking of his experience.
Sang had further supernatural encounters. At a relative’s memorial, he saw a figure that looked like his grandfather, who told him to focus on virtuous deeds and Buddhist chanting. Another time, in a dream, a figure poured fragrant water over him, which he interpreted as a cleansing blessing.
Sang continues offering free medical treatments and spiritual guidance. He attributes his healing ability to his grandfather and spiritual experiences, and he urges others to live honestly, do good deeds, and chant Buddhist prayers to avoid negative karma (DINH VAN NGON TV)
