Practice What You Believe: Faith Panel on the Relationship between Religion and Veganism, Part 1 of 4

On October 27, 2019, a discussion titled “Faith Panel on the Relationship between Religion and Veganism” which took place in London, England, explored the interrelations between spiritual beliefs and cruelty-free, plant-based living. It was organized as part of London’s VegFestUK, one of the biggest annual vegan festivals in Great Britain, dedicated to celebrating, expanding and relishing with gusto the life-affirming vegan trend. Each of the individuals in this respectable group of advocates reached the conclusion that being vegan is an essential aspect of following their respective holy scriptures. Moreover, it is the only way to truly live in harmony with the spiritual values of virtue and compassion. These panel members discuss how they came to realize that our concern for the welfare of animals lies at the very heart of any religious belief and thus should ideally be a top priority for any person of faith. “I’d say that veganism and Judaism more than correlate. I’d say that they go hand-in-hand. And that’s what as an organization, the ‘Jewish Vegetarian Society,’ soon to be renamed with ‘vegan’ in the title, is trying to achieve.” “And I’ve got one quote from the Prophet Muhammad, Peace be upon Him. It says, ‘A good deed done to an animal is like a good deed done to a human being, while an act of cruelty to an animal is as bad as cruelty to a human being.’ And I think that’s self-explanatory.”“The Bhagavad Gita is a sacred scripture and the basis of Hinduism. The fundamental principle of the Bhagavad Gita is that there is Divine Energy everywhere. For instance, in Chapter 10, Verse 20, which says, ‘O Arjuna, I’m seated in the heart of all living entities. I am the beginning, middle and end of all of these beings.’” “So, on these bases it’s obvious that Hinduism discourages consumption of animals, animal flesh and meat.”“I think it’s quite simplistic to jump to a verse in Genesis, in the Old Testament, where it says that God gives humans every seed and seed-bearing plant for food, as a kind of endorsement that we should be vegan, and that that was what God’s big plan for us was.”

Selections from "The Pathway of Life" by Leo Tolstoy (vegetarian): Volume 1 – The Soul, Part 2 of 2

“Men frequently think that only that exists which they can touch with their hands. However, quite on the contrary, only that truly is that cannot be seen, heard or touched, what we call ‘I,’ our soul. Confucius said: The sky and the earth are great, but they have color, shape and size. But there is something in man that can think of everything and has no color, shape or size. Thus, if the whole wo

Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian) Our Savior – From the Gospel of Luke (vegetarian) in the Holy Bible: Part 1 of 2

Jesus Christ: Prophet, Son of God, the Prince of Peace, Savior and friend; He is known by many names. The birth in Bethlehem of this beloved spiritual Master marks the beginning of the Western calendar; so important was His influence on humanity. Lord Jesus taught God’s love and forgiveness to all people with open hearts. He is especially loved and remembered because of His sacrifice to cleanse the sins of His disciples and of the world. Three days after His crucifixion, He arose, as witnessed by some of His disciples. Today, we will open the Gospel of Luke.Love for Enemies “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.” Judging Others “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” A Tree and Its Fruit “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” The Wise and Foolish Builders “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice, is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

Studies in the Scriptures by Charles Taze Russell: The Divine Plan of the Ages - Selection from Chapter 5, Part 2 of 2

We now continue with the fascinating analysis of the Holy Bible by Charles Taze Russell, selected from Volume 1 of his “Studies in the Scriptures” titled, “The Divine Plan of the Ages.” “This was truly a mystery never before thought of - that God intends to raise up not only a deliverer, but a deliverer composed of many members. This is the ‘high calling’ to which the consecrated believers of the Gospel age are privileged to attain. Jesus did not attempt to unfold it to the disciples while natural men, but waited until they were anointed - begotten to the new Nature. From Paul’s explanation, we know that none but ‘new creatures’ can now appreciate or understand this high calling. He says: ‘We speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom [plan], which God ordained before the world unto our glory; which none of the princes [chief ones] of this world knew; ... as it is written, ‘Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him;’ but God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit.’” “But God’s plan will not always be shrouded in mystery: the dawn of the Millennial Day brings the fuller light of God to men, and ‘the knowledge of the Lord shall fill the whole earth.’ The Sun of Righteousness, which shall arise with healing in His wings, dispelling the darkness of ignorance, is the Christ in Millennial Glory - not the Head alone, but also the members of His body; for it is written: If we suffer with Him, we shall also be glorified together. ‘When Christ, Who is our life, shall appear, then shall we also appear with Him in glory;’ and ‘Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father.’” “Then the ‘mystery’ will have ended; for the world will have come to see that it was the Spirit of God in Christ, and the Spirit of Christ in us - God manifested in the flesh - which they had hitherto misunderstood.”

The Reunion of Souls, Part 1 of 11

The Reunion of Souls, Part 1 of 11

“For whatever reason you have come tonight, perhaps the underlying reason is that we are all searching for something. As I too had been searching, and believe I found my answers in this method of meditation. While practicing this meditation, you feel more loving, alive, happier, rejuvenated, and healthier than ever before. A natural, peaceful state is present throughout our daily lives, and this helps us to be more efficient in our daily work and being able to resolve situations that may have been previously daunting. By connecting with the Inner (Heavenly) Light and Sound, we can experience more peace and harmony and be more fulfilled in our everyday life. On a personal note, I have been fortunate to have been practicing the Quan Yin Method for almost six and a half years now. I feel I can do no justice with words to even begin to describe the beauty not just seen within but experienced daily through this meditation.” “I was overcome with joy and inspiration with everything I found in the Quan Yin booklet. Because I was already a full vegetarian, I was very fortunate to be initiated within a month. I felt that I just could not let this opportunity of a million years, or a lifetime, go. I just wanted to have it, because I knew the benefits of it, and it was so good. The day I picked up the Quan Yin booklet was the day my life changed forever and for the better. Quan Yin has brought me great happiness, joy, and inspiration into my life.” “My mom is 81, my dad is 82. They had both been very sick for a long time, and since they have been practicing, Master has been guiding them. She has appeared to them in dreams, has looked after them and even helped them heal themselves spiritually and physically. We laughed once, because mom said that they were so worried they went to the doctor to see if they were well!” “Master teaches us that we have to look inward to know who is the boss and what we need to do. Master’s teachings encouraged me to know that enlightenment is our true Nature, and that we always have it. And if we have a way to recognize it, that it will always be there. This is where I believe that the Quan Yin Method of meditation and Master’s teachings come in. I have searched for someone to elevate my consciousness or wisdom to such a point, that whatever problems or challenges I encounter in my life, I will be able to use wisdom to resolve them. And to be able to help others as well, which is a really huge focus of mine; to help others. But you can’t help others if you can’t help yourself first.”

Studies in the Scriptures by Charles Taze Russell: The Divine Plan of the Ages - Selection from Chapter 5, Part 1 of 2

He is noted for his analytical interpretations of the Holy Bible and for dedicating his life and resources to the preaching of the future establishment of a Golden Age on Earth. According to Mr. Russell’s research of the Holy Bible, God’s Kingdom would rule the Earth through Christ. Among the most well-known of his works is the seven-volume series, “Studies in the Scriptures.” Today, we will read an excerpt from Volume 1 of Charles Taze Russell’s “Studies in the Scriptures” titled, “The Divine Plan of the Ages.” “Paul declares that this mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations now made manifest to His saints, is ‘CHRIST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY.’ This is the great mystery of God which has been hidden from all previous ages, and is still hidden from all except a special class - the saints, or consecrated believers. But what is meant by ‘Christ in you?’ We have learned that Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit, and thus we recognize Him to be the Christ - the Anointed - for the word Christ signifies anointed.” “And, dearly beloved, many blows and much polishing must we endure - much transforming must we undergo, and much conforming to His example, under the direction of the great Master-builder; and in order to have the ability and ideality of the Builder displayed in us, we will need to see that we have no cross-grained will of our own to oppose or thwart the accomplishment of His will in us; we must be very childlike and humble – ‘clothed with humility; for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.’ Let us humble ourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt us in due time, as He has exalted our Head and Forerunner.”

The Reunion of Souls: Gathering with Association Members after the Lecture, Part 9 of 11

00:29:48

The Reunion of Souls: Gathering with Association Members after the Lecture, Part 9 of 11

You know the nature of the soul is not that “I am here and I have one soul in here” – it’s not like that! My soul is bigger than just in here. It might be all over here, it might be all me, but it looks different. I know, I know... It’s not like, OK, “God is one and everybody is one with God” – it’s not in that sense. It’s in the sense that one individual can have a great soul that encompasses many so-called bodies. So we can happen to identify, just like each other.(Can You please teach me how to love?)I can’t, but you can teach yourself by going in the Ocean of Love, which you are, by remembering it, by going back into it, swimming in it every day, saturating yourself with blessings from Heaven, beloved by God, feel loved by our Father, then you will be loving automatically. I can’t teach you, not even in a thousand years, because you are love incarnated – you are already love. No one can teach you. You just awaken, remember, walk the way you should be as a loving being, as a representative of God, then you will know love. (This is in three parts. What is a noble idea? What should we do continuously in order to fulfill the noble idea in our mind? And then in order to work in a big company and make lots of money, is this not a noble idea?)Oh, it is. It depends on what kind of company and depends on what you do with the money you earn. The noble idea is to know God. That’s the noblest idea. And everything else follows. It’s OK to earn money. You have to take care of this temple. Take care of God inside. And you have to take care of your friends, your family, your wife, your kids. It is a noble idea to earn money, take care of your loved ones, and “by the way” knowing God. If just earning money to take care of this physical body and their physical body, it’s not enough, that’s all. Have to know God and work at the same time. I am knowing God, I’m working, earning money too. I use the money in different ways, and I am very happy with it. Earning money is good, very noble. I’m proud of my money because a lot of people need it. I am always happy when I can give somebody something. It’s a very noble feeling.(If a person who, in a previous life, has done some bad things, what should he do to liberate in this life, and where can he liberate to, and for how long?)The only thing you should do is just know yourself. Doesn’t matter how bad you have been in the past, it doesn’t matter. Doesn’t matter how long this hall has been dark, tonight they just lit the light and everything is brilliant again, even if it has been dark here for 300 years. It doesn’t matter at all. Get enlightened and everything else is clear. (Why is God so hidden, so hard to realize or hard to find?)Hes is not! My God! Hes is dying to come out to shake hands with you! It’s just you don’t look for Hirm. Quiet yourself, like 10 minutes, 20 minutes, half an hour, one hour, two hours, a day, and then Hes appears, immediately. Just look into where God is and don’t look into the world. Meditation means we retire from the world for a while. It doesn’t mean go into the Himalayas, but retire inside, forget the world, forget every trouble for a while and then remember God, then God will come.(How do we know that we are one? How do we know we are complete when we give so much and ask for nothing more but true acceptance? Is this a sign of not knowing oneself?)We only know we are one when we are enlightened. Anything else nobody can explain to us. Once we meditate, we’re inside the spiritual experience, we will see that, just like I see you, that we are one.Yes, honey? Finished? Cool! (All finished.) Yes! Good! Thank you so much for your love and your patience! (Thank You!) You are a wonderful audience! You can take some fruit if you like to. You’ve been sitting so long, maybe you feel tired and dry. They’re all yours! Thank you and God bless you! God already does!Did I forget something? Do you want to come up and get it? Do you want to come and get it? Here! Oh my God, so many! Come, come! Here. There you go. Fruit, this is different. Apples. Here. Do you want some?(If anyone is interested in learning any of the two meditation techniques taught free of charge by the Supreme Master Ching Hai, would you please make your way now to the foyer where the working staff are most happy to guide you through to the registration area.)Quick, quick, bring. Here, brother. Banana. Share. Share. Take the whole thing, brother. OK, just one. Wait, wait. Keep fighting with me, the banana even. Here, baby. Oops! Catch! Catch! Use your hands and wisdom, whatever. Here, baby! Back, yes! Two hands. Two hands is easier. Here, for you. Give this to the lady. Here you are. I can’t give to all, OK? Just symbolic, all right? Go up and get it yourself. Here. The kid. Here, darling. Catch! Here! Sorry. Catch, whoever can. Oops, sorry. Oh, that’s good! Lady, here. Here. Let her, let her. Here, brother. I think I just… (Thank You.) Here. Here. Good! Hey, brother! Wow! One more? (…fell over.) Oh, man. Mother here, here. Here. Mother here, come. Hold your hands up. For you. No, for her. Hold your hands. Here, here. OK. Let her, let her. OK. Wait, wait. Here.Cool. Good. This is fun when you get one, you know? (Yes.) It’s not about apple, it’s if you are lucky. Here! Oh, sorry. Here, darling. Here. Here is for you. Yes. I’m sorry I couldn’t reach everybody. Yeah, here, here, here. Yes! Oh, again! (I tried my best.) Oh, again! Yes!Give it to... Can you bring the whole box and give to people over there, please? Here you are! My God! Let the old lady and gentleman take. Here you are, father. Here. It’s for him. Yes. Anyone? Elder people first, please, senior citizens and unable people. Here. Don’t push to the front. Yes. Here! Here, baby. I’d like to give everybody, it’s just impossible. Pushing. Do you have it, brother? Here. Oh, man. Next one. Here, here, here. Here.Anyhow, whatever. Here. Where are the… You want to give me that? Here. Orange? Here, darling. OK, mother, the white lady. Here! Let the white lady behind you get. Yes. You missed it again. (Orange!) Orange. Here you are! Here. Here. Here, darling, whoever. There you go. Forever fruit. I’ve got to go, OK? Otherwise, we don’t… (One more!) Again? Oh man, every time. Please leave there for me. I’ve got to go. Working. I’ll come here. This way, go this way? It’s OK. Thank you. I will just drop it and... Keep it. Please, for you. Help yourself, please. It’s just due to time. OK? I would like to give. OK, guys. Can you please bring the fruit here? Hey! Yes? Bring over here. Please bring some more over here. Yeah? You wish? All right. OK. I’ll touch them all. Hoola hup! How are you? (I am good.) Some refreshment. (Now I know... I have one Master…) Yes. Right. Thank you. Thank you, darling. You have to see in order to believe? (That’s true. Seeing is believing.) Take care, darling. I touched that. You help yourself. Here. You OK? All yours. Yes, yes. Take. They’re all yours. Again? It’s in here, not in here. Brother. And you. Wow, my God, that’s professional! Ooh, he’s good. Here. You guys, all yours, OK? Here! One more chance. Good. See you after. I’ll come back here. What is that?Money’s all the groups of people? (Yes.) What people do for money, you don’t think like that because it’s a wrong conception. Actually, we should not need money, you’re right. But just in this society, it’s already established by money. So, we have to earn money to use it to exchange for something more loving, that’s all. Otherwise money is no need. In a higher society, they just exchange. Like you make potatoes and I make apples, and we exchange. That’s the best way. But I can’t change the world in two minutes. I work with it, so that it’s much more comfort. Oh, sure, honey. Take care. OK. I love you.(Thank You. Really, really lovely to meet You here again.) (We all love You.) (Ten years ago.) Ten years ago? You still look the same. (Yes.) (Two years ago, I read all Your books. I’m really lucky.) Oh, yeah? (Yes.) OK. (Thank You, Master. My mom sent me all Your books in Australia.) Oh, really. (I’m so pleased to see You again. I’m so happy! And I told my mother-in-law, that couldn’t make it tonight, I’ll take that home for her,) OK, yes. (85 years old.) Give my love. Give my love. OK? (And all the best for Your journey.) Thank you, thank you. I’ll come back. This way or that way? I’ll come back for the initiation. I’ll come back soon. I have to leave so that they can come here. (Yes.) OK, guys. (See You later.) See you. See you. (Waiting for You.) I’m really grateful for your love and your blessing. The people behind there don’t have. Bring it to them. See you. I’m going. Bye. (Can I have one?)You guys! You want to sit here with me? Come here. Yes. Sit anywhere. You look like a monk! Baby, come here! Here, you want some cake for your mother? OK, then sit there if you want. So cute! So nice of kids to do this, so nice!Later we share, yes? (Yes!) We share all these, yes? (Yes!) Make it dry and hang it there, yeah? Some people put them in tea. I don’t recommend it because some flowers I don’t know if it’s safe... Thank you darling! ...you can take that fan in here. Boy! Sit if you want, yeah! Take the flowers and give... put it over here, put it here! You can help yourselves to the candies here if you want. Thank you! Wow! Beautiful... oh my God! Thank you so much! Thank you! I am sorry, guys, if you didn’t come to the stage, but here is fine, too! Yes! Leave it there! Let me blow something cool, cool, cool... He likes it. Oh yeah! He takes the whooh....How come you are so good? You know, why you are so good? Because you are me! Yes! We get on fabulously well because we are one! Thanks! So we can happen to identify, just like each other. Just like sometimes we have two persons, but they think exactly the same thing at the same moment. That is because that is one soul, not because they are one with God or they are one with each other, but they are one soul, just like twins, you see. They’re like soul mates, something like that. But soul mates don’t necessarily mean only one; means a lot, a lot of them... Can be a lot, because some great souls, they encompass a lot, a lot of other beings for their own purposes. Therefore, we feel like brothers and sisters, we feel like one. Sometimes you feel very good with your sister or your brother, your mother, your father, because that’s you. You make it become family, but it’s only one, one soul as many individuals. Understand? No? No. That’s all right. But that’s why, sometimes we say, “I have affinity with that person,” or “she is my soul mate,” “he is my soul mate,” because it’s you, it is really you! I mean, that’s your individual soul group in one soul, see what I mean?Apart from that, we are one with God and one with everybody else. We have also individual souls which can house many... big group of people as just one soul, but it looks different. No? You don’t understand? Never mind! It’s OK! You do understand? Yes! So that’s why sometimes we feel so good with a group of people. The more we’re with them, the more we feel strengthened, because we’re at home with ourselves; we are together, we’re pieced together, you see? No wonder we work so well. Can you imagine, you are me? But how come I am the only beautiful one in here? Don’t tell anybody! I am very humble. I love you so much! (We love You too!) Ah, if I don’t come see you, it’s not because I don’t love you, Ok? Yeah! But also because I don’t feel the separation. Maybe you do. Sometimes, I do miss you a lot. Some people, especially some people, if I’ve known a long time, or even like one of the residents died or something, I know I can see her anytime, but it’s different. You see what I mean? It’s different, like I cannot keep calling her, “Come on down here and visit me!” It’s not fair. But when we’re physically together, we can. See what I mean? And sometimes... So nice, so nice people that I also want to stay there with them forever. Just like, for example now, I invite some representatives, some contact persons to my room and we share some food, eat together – they eat together, I share the food and they eat together – and it’s just so nice; feels like family and feels like they are so good. I also love to be around good people, it makes you feel good, too. It makes you feel life is worth living and everything you do is really worthwhile. It’s really, really nice. So I also did not want them to leave and I also did not want to leave New Zealand; I just get sentimental like that. And perhaps you do feel like that when we are not together, and in some moments like that, I understand how you feel, but otherwise, most of the time I don’t feel the separateness between us at all, and I do not feel that the world needs me even. I’ve told you that many times, but it’s difficult for you to understand.

Selections from The Astral City - Chapter 6: Precious Advice

"Man is not forsaken on Earth. He is a child of God engaged in constructive work, temporarily clothed in flesh. He is a student in a meritorious school, where he must learn to raise himself up. The human struggle is his opportunity, his set of tools, and his textbook." "How childish to imagine that the mere 'ringing down of the curtain' (physical death) would settle transcendental questions of the Infinite. One life is but a single act. One body - a garment. One century - a day. One task - an experience. One triumph - an acquisition. One death - a breath of renovation. How many lives, how many bodies, how many centuries, how many tasks, how many triumphs, how many deaths are still allotted to us?" These astounding messages from the spirits via a human medium convey the message of Spiritism. Numerous books have been written that provide insights into the afterlife and the soul’s immortality. One such volume is "Nosso Lar," or "The Astral City," by Spirit André Luiz through Spiritist medium Francisco Cândido Xavier. In "The Astral City," former medical doctor André Luiz speaks from the afterlife of his awakening and healing within a spiritual society near the Earth’s surface. This story describes not only the continuation of life beyond the physical body, but more importantly how Heaven cares for each and every human soul. “The only way to spiritual balance is to open your heart to the Divine Light. If you consider the necessary effort to be an oppressive burden or see the struggle for redemption as an imposition, it is a sure sign of spiritual blindness. The more you dwell on your own painful experiences, the more you bind yourself to them. You can be sure that the same Father whom shelters and watches over you will also care for your loved ones on Earth. We should certainly regard the family as a sacred institution, but always keep in mind that it is just a small branch of the Universal Family under the loving guidance of one Divine Father.”

From One Soul to Another, Part 1 of 3

From One Soul to Another, Part 1 of 3

We now invite you to listen to Supreme Master Ching Hai’s insightful lecture titled “From One Soul to Another, Part 1 of 3” delivered in Yerevan, Armenia on May 15, 1999. “It has been a very challenging job. But God has said that ‘I’ll give you all the power necessary. You just continue to serve Me, everything I will provide.’ This way has worked for me and has woked for many thousands, hundreds of thousands, of other people who have sought God. So I am sure it works for everyone. And God has appeared to all of us alike. Sometimes Jesus also comes to us, sometimes Buddha comes, sometimes other Saints of the past also will grace our lives and instruct us about our daily problem, also our spiritual progress. Hes has blessed us in many, many ways, materially and spiritually, so that we can share what we have with whomever is in need. In our lives, we suffer so much because we have lost contact with the Supreme Power within ourselves, which is the Master of all beings, this God inside us. Because if we lose this contact with God, no matter how many possessions we have in this world, we’ll still never be completely happy.”

The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 1 of 4 - The Origin of the Creation

The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 1 of 4 - The Origin of the Creation

Since time immemorial, our planet has been graced with Light-bringers, enlightened Beings who embody spiritual wisdom and offer it for the benefit of humanity. On this special occasion celebrating the Three-Year Anniversary of Supreme Master Television, we are honored to present “The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World.” This four-part series represents a compilation of some of the most powerful and illuminating excerpts from Words of Wisdom which, as you will see, all lead to the same ultimate Divinity. Welcome to Part One: The Origin of the Creation. One of the questions that we are sure to encounter in life is: where does the world come from, and where do we come from? The Holy Bible says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God … Through Hirm all things were made, and without Hirm nothing was made that has been made.” Taoism Tao Te Ching Chapter 1: “The name that can be named is not the enduring and unchanging name. (Conceived of as) having no name, it is the Originator of heaven and earth; (conceived of as) having a name, it is the Mother of all things.” Bahá'í Faith The Kitab-I-Aqdas: “He, verily, is the Munificent, the Generous. He has previously made known unto you that which would be uttered by this Dayspring of Divine wisdom. He said, and He speaks the truth: He is the One Who will under all conditions proclaim: ‘Verily, there is none other God besides Me, the One, the Incomparable, the Omniscient, the All-Informed.’” In a lecture given at Denver University, Colorado, USA on April 10, 1993, Supreme Master Ching Hai revealed more about how we can awaken this extraordinary Source of Heavenly benevolence and compassion. “All Masters, all true Masters, are one. They come from one Source. The highest Master is the Supreme Master, the Almighty, which is in all of you. When we first came here, we were Masters before. We came here, we blessed the world, and we forgot all about our power and our glory. Our energies were also exhausted because we paid attention to outer phenomena. All the Masters who come here are the ones who are awakened in this awareness, and know Their true glory. They can travel the road Home frequently and They can lead us back Home. So there’s no need to discriminate between any Masters. All the religions are founded after the Master has gone; therefore, we have Christianity after Christ, Buddhism after Buddha, etc.”

The Reunion of Souls: Questions and Answers, Part 8 of 11

Meditation doesn’t change the world, it changes you, and then, if everyone changes themselves, the world becomes peaceful. We only make war because we are not peaceful ourselves, because we could not know the person next to us is God, we could not realize that we are God and we could not realize that the one we kill, we shoot, we torture, is also God, and that’s why the world is

Be a Torchbearer for God, Part 1 of 5

00:29:22

Be a Torchbearer for God, Part 1 of 5

Every soul, every little part of God has chosen to walk a different path in order to experience different aspects of God, and the whole experience of all humankind or all beings makes up the wholeness of God. Therefore, Jesus said, “Love thy neighbor,” even “Love thy enemies.”– because everyone is us.Thank you, thank you. You call me “Master,” but you are all “Master.” You just forget, just forget. When we are united, when we remember the unity of the universe, which includes ourselves, then we remember that we are one with God, one with the all-pervasive Intelligence. And when we have forgotten this, then we have forgotten everything. And we try to remember that through different means, like prayers, scriptures, yogas, meditation. All these are good. All these are good for us. One day, we will truly remember that we are all Masters. There is no one in this room or anywhere else who is not a Master because we cannot be separated from the Master, who is all-pervasive, and we are in that pervasiveness, and we are one with that, and that's the only thing we are made of. There is nothing else that's made up our beings except God-essence, except the greatest things that we call Truth, Wisdom, God, Goddess, Buddha–name whatever you like to call this Greatest Being in the universe, which is even one with us, with every one of us.That's why at the time of death, the so-called ourselves, or the body, just lays flat on the ground, or anywhere, and doesn't move, because that essence of all movement, of all activities, has chosen to leave that physical instrument for that time, maybe seeking another instrument for further experiencing the limitless, the vastness, of this Great Being, which we call God, which is one with us, actually. Once we've found the unity again with this all-pervasive Intelligence, all-pervasive Love, we call this enlightenment, we call this God-realization or Self-realization, or attaining Buddhahood.Different countries name this Intelligence, this Wisdom, this greatest Love, by different terminologies because they speak different languages. Otherwise, there is just one, the Oneness that encompasses all things, including ourselves. And we are never ever separated from this Oneness, even if we try. The only reason we feel separated from this Oneness is because we have chosen to forget the unity, so that we can re-experience again this greatness and we can re-create ourselves again through forgetfulness, or remember again the bliss of Heaven, of unity with God, which is ourselves, our greatest Self. For example, many people ask me all the time, “What happens when we die?” I always say, “I didn't die yet, so I don't know.” But we could experience the feeling of death during our deepest prayers or contemplation. When we are in the deepest prayers, we will be oblivious to all the surroundings, including ourselves, and all the worries will depart from us. This is the time when the Indian yogis call “samadhi.” During this samadhi time, we will experience oneness with God, almost like the time when we die. That's why in the Bible it is mentioned that, “Learn to die so that you will begin to live.” And a saint also said, “I die daily,” “Whoever forsakes the flesh for the spirit will find God,” etc., etc.How do we forget or forsake the flesh? Every day we have so much problem of living, of survival. Every little thing that we see around us, everything we encounter during our lifetime, always tries to remind us that we are a physical being, we are just a mere mortal, a weak, feeble human being, helpless in front of destiny. So how can we forget this? We can. We can if we practice. We can if we know how. It is very simple. Every one of us can do this. We have children from six years old, even younger than that–five–they already experience oneness with God. They experience the phenomenon, feeling, of forsaking the flesh and uniting with the spirit, or visiting Heaven while living. It's just like I am coming to Africa to visit your beautiful country, and then tomorrow or the next days I will go back to another country, or back to where my house is. It is as simple as that.We could visit Heaven and go back to Earth again–not by the body, but by our own essence of being. We call it the soul or the spirit, which is always one with God. The body is just like a focus point, so that the soul can pay all the attention there in order to gather some earthly experience, that he wants to experience so that he can temporarily–if the soul is a he or a she, we have to say something–if she or he wants to experience something in this material existence, then that soul or that part of that great being of God has to focus on some point, focus so much so that he can forget completely about his oneness with God. At that moment, we are born–we say we are born in the physical world and we have a body. And so long as the soul or that part of God consciousness still concentrates on this focus point of the body or whatever body he chooses to focus on, we say that that's a “he,” that's a “she,” that's a “human being” or that's a what… Actually, that part of the soul, or we call individual soul, has never left the whole of God consciousness. So, we have never been really born, or we have never died. But we could choose to forget completely about God, about the whole unity of ourselves, and just focus on this physical being. Then we would never experience Godhood, even though God is all over us, everywhere. But if we choose to be awakened, to remember, then we can. We can forsake our attention for a while, not focus on this physical being for a while; we focus back to the unity. Then we can find God. We realize that we have never left God, that we are one with God, and we are always never separated from God.So that is just the secret of the universe. It's nothing much more than ourselves; our own consciousness makes choices all the time. We choose to be a human being, then we focus on a human body, so we have experience of human life–all the sorrow, the suffering, the happiness, the adventures of the flesh, the pleasures, the pain. The moment we feel we have enough of the physical experience, we want to experience something different, then we choose another choice. We might choose to be a deva or we might even choose to experience to be a flower–that's also possible! And that's why it is born, the theory of reincarnation, of transmigration into different levels of existence. But, actually, we have never gone anywhere at all, neither go up nor go down. We're just forever flowing in the life force of the universe, forever being in Godhood, but forever experiencing different focus points for our own pleasure, for our own amusement. But while we are in the physical body, sometimes we have forgotten the wisdom of ourselves. Therefore, we have forgotten the choice that we have made before we came here. So, the choice we have made might have led us to some pain or suffering; Then, now we complain. We complain so much because we don't like the suffering–the body doesn't like the suffering; the mind doesn't like the pressure–but that was what the soul wants to experience. He wants to experience pressure, so that he can appreciate again the freedom in God consciousness. He wants to choose suffering so that he can enjoy, thousand-fold, again, when he enters Eternal Bliss once more. That's why we are here, so that we know God more, we know ourselves more.Just like we are the king of an ancient nation. Sometimes a king disguises himself as a commoner and goes among the people in order to understand what a true citizenship is like. And then when he comes back, he appreciates his position better–his comfortable palace, all the servants that serve him, all the power that he has. When he has disguised himself as a commoner, he has to undergo all kinds of hardship, all kinds of ordinariness, just like every one of his subjects. He cannot reveal himself that he is a king. In fact, he must completely cover up his identity, so that he can truly, truly merge with the people of his nation and experience what their daily life is like.Similarly, we were once with Go–consciously at that time–we have never been away from God, but now, we are not consciously remembering that. So, we've had enough of the suffering of this physical life, we've had enough of the mundane experience, so we get bored, we feel there's nothing really here anymore for us to enjoy. We would like to know where we come from, what else is there in this vast universe of God's creation that we should experience. This is the time, when we ask this question, when we wonder like this, this is the time we will experience enlightenment. We are ready! We are ready for it. So, we came all this time to be a human being, to be different human beings. Sometimes, if we have focused on one focus point or one human existence, and we didn't feel we have enough, of physical enjoyment or physical adventure, then we focus on another existence of another human being again. And then we continue further, until we get tired. So, actually, anyone who is ready can experience God's Light, God's unity and enlightenment. That is very simple like that. It's your choice only. You've chosen to forget, and now you have chosen to remember. So, if you think you have chosen now to remember again then, of course, I am here to serve you. Because God has given me permission, ordered me, to do that. And maybe one day, after you have remembered everything about yourself, God will also say the same to you, “Go, my son! Go, my daughter! Do some service to my children, ” or “to Myself.”Because we have never been separated from God, remember that. Even if you don't remember, just believe me. We have nowhere to go except inside God's consciousness. We have nowhere else except in God's house right now. Everywhere, Hes encompasses every being in this universe. All the flowers, the sun, the moon, the stars, the planets, the galaxies, they’re all inside God. There is nothing that escapes Godhood. For a conscious soul, there is no such thing as hell but just a temporary passing experience that he has to go through in the course of eternity because he has chosen to experience some so-called suffering in order to grow, in order to understand happiness again. Every soul, every little part of God has chosen to walk a different path in order to experience different aspects of God, and the whole experience of all humankind or all beings makes up the wholeness of God. Therefore, Jesus said, “Love thy neighbor,” even “Love thy enemies.”– because everyone is us. They have chosen to play that role only. There is no enemy, just us, just God's different focus points to make life more abundant, more variety, more different, more colorful, just like Hes made us even so different colors so that we can enjoy each other. Like I look like yellow corn flakes–corn. And you look like chocolate. Yes, and he looks like icing, Christmas icing.Because God is colorful! Just like Hes made all different flowers different colors–even fruits. From the same soil, we obtain so many different fruits and different flowers. They are all different colors. The African people chose to always wear colorful clothes because inside I think they feel that they are very close to God. They are so happy. So, there is not really anything mysterious or difficult about finding God or finding our true Selves, because we have never been anything else but God, God's essence, one with God, or God's children, God's offspring, a spark of God, a part of God. It's just like the fish in the sea–he's born in the sea, he lives in the sea, and when he dies, he becomes the sea again. Things like that. So, we have never run anywhere. The problem with us now is that we have to change our thinking. We have to change. We have too much guilt feeling, guilty, fear about everything. Feel guilty if we're successful. People make us feel guilty if we are rich, even. If God gives us some richness or successful business, people make us feel guilty. If you have a beautiful wife, people make you feel bad also, sometimes. They come around and ask you, “How did you get to know this beautiful woman?” Or they will ask her, “What did you see in that guy? He's so ugly!” Things like that. It's none of their business. They make you feel bad. Yes, they make you feel guilty if you have a lot of money. They make you feel guilty if you are successful in politics or business. And the whole world is feeling guilty about so many things because we have been taught that way. This doctrine is never right. So, Jesus had to come, Moses had to come to set us free–set us free, not just by His sacrifice, but by the teaching, telling you that God is all-loving. “Knock and it shall be opened. Ask and it shall be given unto you.” But where do you knock? We couldn't even knock anymore. We are too weak! We are burdened with guilt and fear, fear from this revengeful God. There is no such thing as a revengeful God. If Hes is revengeful, Hes is like us, like you and me–War God. “You do something good to me or else!” This is not God! Can you imagine such a God? Then we have no need to worship such a small-minded and narrow person. If Hes is really a person, if there is a God like that, we should not worry about worshipping Hirm because it's just like one of any of the power-abusing people.Even in this planet. Think about it, you have children or you have a wife and husband, sometimes your wife makes mistakes, your husband strays a little, you still forgive him, you still hug him, and, “OK, I forgive you. Don't do it again.” Or your kids sometimes give you so much trouble because they are stubborn, they don't listen to you, they cause you headaches. You still forgive them, you still love them, and give them the best love that the parents can afford, even money–everything–sacrifice. So how would a God, the greatest Father or Mother of all the universe, could be revengeful, could condemn you to hell just because you are human, you don't know any better, and you make mistakes sometimes? So, this kind of fear has been inflicted upon us generation after generation. That's why we find ourselves too weak now to even believe there is a God who would even answer our prayers. That's why when we pray, we don't pray with the whole heart, we don't have conviction that our prayers will be answered. But it's stated in the Bible: “Knock and it shall be opened, ask and it shall be given.” It is like that. It is truly like that about God. No matter what you do, Hes will always answer your prayers. We just have to listen. I am going to show you how to listen to Hirm. We have to change, our way of thinking.

The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 3 of 4 - The Law of Karmic Retribution

The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 3 of 4 - The Law of Karmic Retribution

Welcome to Part Three – The Law of Karmic Retribution. Different religions may refer differently to karmic retribution, or cause and effect, but it is understood as a concept by all. We have heard of the sayings, “What goes around, comes around,” and “Like attracts like.” Positive actions bring favorable effects, while negative yields unfavorable results, also known as karmic retribution. While the principles of Divine Love and Grace are higher, and may be mercifully applied in the physical realms, karmic retribution is a law that cannot be ignored. The Holy Bible clearly teaches the concept of karma in the often-quoted verse, “As you sow, so shall you reap.” The verse continues, “The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Even in ancient China thousands of years ago, people understood the wisdom of the enlightened Master Confucius, “Do not impose on others what you yourself do not desire.” Buddhism Surangama Sutra: “Ananda, if living beings in the six worlds of existence cease to kill, they will not be subject to the continual round of births and deaths… How then can those who practice great compassion feed on the flesh and blood of living beings?” Sikhism Sri Guru Granth Sahib: “The world eats dead carcasses, living by neglect and greed. Like a goblin, or a beast, they kill and eat the forbidden carcasses of meat. So control your urges, or else you will be seized by the Lord, and thrown into the tortures of hell.” Jainism Bhagavati Aradhana: “To kill any living being amounts to killing oneself. Compassion to others is compassion to one’s own self. Therefore one should avoid violence like poison and thorns (that cause pain).” Cao Đài-ism The Collection of Divine Messages: “If you kill any living being, you shall be punished; no one knows whether a living being may have been an Immortal or a Buddha reincarnating to Earth. As I have said, all life is Me. To destroy life is to attempt to destroy Me. And it is not easy to destroy Me. Teach that to human beings.” In an effort to halt the factory farms and meat-processing plants that kill billions of animals every year, Supreme Master Ching Hai has been speaking out in urgent messages for some time. She asks that all meat-related businesses cease their operations and switch to a more wholesome living. On February 22, 2020, Supreme Master Ching Hai specifically addressed livestock industry owners as well as the fishing, egg, milk, fur, laboratory testing, cosmetics and leather industries.

Selections from The Astral City - Chapter 3: Collective Prayer

Selections from The Astral City - Chapter 3: Collective Prayer

In “The Astral City,” former medical doctor André Luiz speaks from the afterlife of his awakening and healing within a spiritual society near the Earth’s surface. This story describes not only the continuation of life beyond the physical body, but more importantly how Heaven cares for each and every human soul. The following excerpt from “The Astral City” describes how André Luiz was strengthened spiritually upon his rescue from the Lower Zones. “I felt a profound sense of veneration and awe as I gazed at the soft light streaming through my window. I realized that on Earth I had never looked up at the Sun and raised my thoughts to the One, Who in His infinite mercy, had given it to us to shine on our journey. I was like a blind man who, after living so long in darkness, was blessed with the ability to see the splendor of nature. The first collective prayer I had attended at the Astral City had worked a radical change in me. An unexpected peace filled my soul for the first time in many years of suffering, and my heart, so long empty, was once again filled with hope.”

How Suffering Can Lead Us to Happiness: Questions and Answers, Part 3 of 3 # 333 Sydney, Australia – March 16, 1993

(As You said, enlightenment will cause us to ignore everything such as wealth, illness or a higher position in society. …but how about illness? We suffer every minute.) We just do not feel so much suffering the way we did before enlightenment, that’s all. We will tend to our body as much as we can. We give it as much comfort as it needed, and we give the medical care and all that. Should we have to suffer from illnesses, our patience, our enduring power, increases, and therefore the illness doesn’t bother us much. I do not say we ignore it completely; it doesn’t bother us that much. And even after enlightenment, many of our illnesses just disappear; it is not miracles. It is because our super-power Self awakens and regulates some of the misconstructing part in our body and destroys it. So, many people found themselves with no more cancer, and even though they were already put on the operating table, and anesthetic needles were already admitted to them, then the doctors found to their amazement that there was no more cancer there, so they were pushed outside again. So we don’t ignore the illness; illness seems to ignore enlightened people.

Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian) Our Savior – From the Gospel of Luke (vegetarian) in the Holy Bible: Part 2 of 2

00:10:02

Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian) Our Savior – From the Gospel of Luke (vegetarian) in the Holy Bible: Part 2 of 2

We will now continue with the reading from Chapter 7 in the Gospel of Luke of the Holy Bible. In these verses, we will learn about some of the miracles Lord Jesus performed while on His mission to spread the word of God.Jesus and John the Baptist “When the men came to Jesus, they said, ‘John the Baptist sent us to You to ask, “Are You the One Who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”’ At that very time, Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind. So, He replied to the messengers, ‘Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.’” “After John’s messengers left, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: ‘What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swayed by the wind? If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear expensive clothes and indulge in luxury are in palaces. But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. This is the One about Whom it is written: “I will send My Messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You.” I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the One Who is least in the Kingdom of God is greater than he.’”Jesus Anointed by a Sinful Woman “Then He turned toward the woman and said to Simon, ‘Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven - as her great love has shown. But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.’ Then Jesus said to her, ‘Your sins are forgiven.’ The other guests began to say among themselves, ‘Who is this Who even forgives sins?’ Jesus said to the woman, ‘Your faith has saved you; go in peace.’”
