Joanna Ampil: Radiant Actress and Singer, Part 2 of 2

Today, we are honored to continue our interview with Ms. Ampil as she tells us more about her often challenging journey to stardom. Joanna Ampil played the main character Grizabella in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical “Cats.” This part requires a particularly wide vocal range. Ms. Ampil shares her thoughts on the kind of qualities an actor needs to interpret and portray a character accurately and well to an audience.Joanna Ampil describes her growth through playing Saint Mary Magdalene in “Jesus Christ Superstar,” a role she first played in 1996. Joanna Ampil portrayed Candida Marasigan in the film “Ang Larawan” (“The Portrait”). During the long and difficult filming process, “Ang Larawan” became Joanna’s biggest struggle, but ultimately proved to be a very rewarding experience for her.In 2019, in the Philippine TV show “Memories” episode titled “Kadena,” Joanna gave a poignant performance based on a true story about mental unwellness and the effects it brings upon loved ones. In her performance, she amplified the dignity of her character, a mother named Corazon, while bringing a much-needed sympathetic awareness to mental illness. We ask Joanna Ampil: which of her performances has been her favorite? “I can talk about the most memorable one. I’m not saying this because I’m with you guys, but it is ‘The Real Love.‘ Definitely. Because that is the one that really changed me as a human being, as a person, changed me morally, the way I was thinking, the way I deal with people, the way I deal with animals. It just changed me as a whole being, completely.”Joanna Ampil was praised for her heartfelt portrayal in the film “Ang Larawan,” winning the Best Actress award at the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival and the Gawad Urian Award for Best Actress in 2018. For her performance as Corazon, Ms. Ampil won the GEMS Award for Best Actress for Television.

The Magical Book, Part 2 of 4

16:17

The Magical Book, Part 2 of 4

Join us as we follow the princess on her next adventure in Part 2 today. “This place is so peaceful! (Right. The world will be like this too, when humans and animal-people co-exist harmoniously.) Vegan food is so delicious! Why do we humans have to kill the animal-people [for food]? (They are sentient beings, just like us!)” “They are living beings just like us. When you look into the eyes of animal-people, sometimes you will realize, ‘My God! We are equal. We are the same.’ And that feeling will send shivers all over your body, and give you an enlightenment that you would never dream of having. I told you that animal-people, can also teach you, flowers and trees and everything. In the Bible, God said that, ‘I made animals to help you, as your helper, as your friend.’ That's why we should never eat them, not mistreat them.” “When I become Queen, everyone has to be vegan! (I am with you!)” “Just that bad officials can be replaced. But wars and natural disasters, how to avoid them? How?” “Killing animal-people, it’s the number one cause of war and famine and disaster and disease in the world. Because the animal-people, they also have souls. And when they die, before they die, they’re anguished, they’re lamenting, they’re calling to Heaven. In their own way, in their silent way, and the Heaven cannot just ignore their pleas. Even though humans are the best, but if we don’t behave as the best, then the karma still has to punish us.”“This is strange! Some of these details aren’t mentioned in the books from the royal library. (Worldly history books often contain errors or are not complete because the historians were rarely wise, just and unbiased.)” “In fact, we need to read it again and reconsider whether the history was recorded as it really was. Besides, who recorded the history? He was just an official, a person. People had their own bias and their own shallow and flawed wisdom. They might include their own opinions, personal feelings or grudges in their writings. Therefore, sometimes don’t just read the history and then believe it simple-mindedly. We should use our wisdom.”

Joanna Ampil: Radiant Actress and Singer, Part 1 of 2

Joanna Ampil: Radiant Actress and Singer, Part 1 of 2

Accomplished stage and screen star Joanna Ampil is known for her charismatic talent. Her splendid performance as the leading lady Kim in the musical “Miss Saigon” first drew the attention of influential theater producers in 1993. Ms. Ampil has since stayed at the top of her field and in 2011, she performed in the role of Thanh in the unique musical “The Real Love,” inspired by the true story of Supreme Master Ching Hai.She also performed as the innocent Éponine in the famous musical “Les Misérables,” which ran during 2000 to 2001 at the Palace Theatre in London. Another career highlight was playing Fantine in “Les Misérables” in a Windsor Concert performance for Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family. On August 27, 2011, the global premiere of a special musical, “The Real Love,” took place at the prestigious Pasadena Civic Center in Pasadena, California, USA. “The Real Love” starred Joanna Ampil as Thanh, a tender-hearted Aulacese, also known as Vietnamese, woman helping war-torn refugees. How does Joanna Ampil look back on that role? “Oh, with fondness, and with such joy. This is the gift that keeps giving. It was such a special time in my life, and every time I look back, it’s almost like wanting to go back in time and redo the whole thing because it was so wonderful. It was so easy, in a way, because I felt like something was... there was an intervention. And I honestly believe it was the Supreme Master Ching Hai praying for me because She said that eventually in Her letter. And every time I would watch Her talks in those videos that they sent me, there’s just a certain calmness that came over me. And I don’t know what it is, it’s like I was cleansed spiritually, mentally, and physically, and everything became so clear when I was playing the character.”The experience brought some unexpected rewards. “Really, there was something that got over me mentally that I just wanted to be so kind to everyone and to all the animals and to all my co-inhabitants. It was that kind of feeling. It was light. It’s so magical; it was such a magical time in my life. Looking back, it just gives me the smile, remembering all those moments.”

The Magical Book, Part 1 of 4

The Magical Book, Part 1 of 4

Once upon a time, there was a country called Thiên Ân. The King of Thiên Ân had no prince but only a princess whose name was Ngọc Đan, and today she was then 16 years old. Knowing that he was getting old and weak, the King wanted to relinquish his crown to Princess Ngọc Đan. But Ngọc Đan was only interested in amusement, not in the royal court affairs. The King, therefore, was very worried and decided to seek advice from a yogi.“I have this magic book that I would like to offer to Your Majesty. (What does this mean?) Your Majesty, this wordless book will help Her Royal Princess more than any other book. Of course, Her Royal Princess will need a trusted company. And if Your Majesty would allow, Sir Chamberlain is very suited for this task.”“O magical book, reveal your wisdom to me!” “What is this place? I can’t understand why would my Royal Father listen to that silly yogi? So what are we going to do now, Sir Chamberlain? (Let’s walk ahead and see.) Don’t even know where we’re going! So frustrating! (I only know that when we will return, we shall return.) Isn’t it funny? Leaving home and not knowing when you will return! Huh!”“What are you doing? (Cut the throat of this chicken-person!) Why do you cut her throat? (How do you get chicken-person meat to eat, otherwise?) Stop it! I don’t want to eat her! Besides, the chicks will be very sad losing their mother.” “The humans are inherently very compassionate and loving. It’s just they have been misled. They have not been informed since long time and the bad habit, the negative information, has already been ingrained into their way of life. So they have been mislead very, very badly. So now we have to inform them again, remind them again, that it is not the way we should live our life. The way we should live our life is with love, compassion, and peace with all beings including animal-people.” “You throw this book away! I don’t want to see it again!” “Who are you? (I am the genie of the book. Don’t waste your effort trying to destroy the book. You will be the next ruler. That is your destiny. I hope you will be a wise Queen to bring benefits to all.)”

The Beautiful Art of Korea’s North

The Beautiful Art of Korea’s North

On the fourth anniversary of Korea Peace Day, please join us to discover the beautiful arts and culture in the northern part of Korea. The first Korea Peace Day was proclaimed in 2018 by Supreme Master Ching Hai, to commemorate the Panmunjom Declaration of Peace on the Korean Peninsula by the heroic Korean leaders Dear Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and His Excellency Moon Jae-in. The notable folk art of Korea’s north includes traditional embroideries, potteries, paintings, and calligraphy. Many Korean embroidery creations feature human figures, landscapes, flowers, and animal-people. Today, the Pyongyang Embroidery Institute preserves this precious art form. The Joseon period ceramics, known as “Joseon Buncheong,” are famous for their excellent quality, each piece radiating with unique personalities. Joseon white porcelain have contributed significantly to ceramic art in Japan since the 16th century. Since ancient times, the Korean people have produced outstanding musical talent, along with many unique instruments. The 12-stringed zither known as the gayageum is one of Korea’s most represented national instruments. The tanso is a traditional wind instrument first played in Korea in the mid-15th century. Jangsaenab is a woodwind instrument in northern part of Korea. Modified based on the traditional taepyeongso, jangsaenab is longer and has a narrower metal trumpet that produces rich volumes and powerful expressions.Let’s take a look at some of their popular folk dances. The Tondollari is a circle dance that originated in Pukchong County, South Hamgyong Province, where it remains popular. Another form of folk dance is the Pongsan mask dance of North Hwanghae Province. Korean folk songs originated from simple rhythmic music of ordinary people. The most represented piece is the famous “Arirang” that has existed for over 600 years. In April 2019, the Pyongyang Folk Arts Group traveled to Taiwan, also known as Formosa, to celebrate Korea Peace Day with our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai. The group’s highly skilled professional performances and dazzling costumes were an excellent representation of the beauty of the Korean art of the north. Let’s hear their lively rendition of “Arirang.”

The Compassionate French Pianist - Vanessa Wagner (vegan), Part 2 of 2

12:27

The Compassionate French Pianist - Vanessa Wagner (vegan), Part 2 of 2

In a February interview with our Supreme Master Television team, Vanessa spoke of how she was drawn to “minimal music” and started to interpret and collaborate with electronic musicians, such as Murcof to perform and produce albums. “I wanted to do something but I didn't want it to be piano-techno; well, that was unimaginable for me, and Murcof is a very mysterious character. He is someone who makes retreats of silence, of meditation. It's really the opposite of what you can imagine from show-off electro music. It's a very, very cerebral music, very meditative.”From performing with Murcof in 2014 for the project “Beyond My Piano” and making the 2016 album “Statea,” Vanessa went on to produce two more solo albums in the post-minimalist repertoire, “Inland” in 2019 and “Inverness” in 2021. Vanessa further integrated songs, poetry, and dance into her interpretations, and brought whole new artistic experiences to the audience. “Demagogy is really a thing where the vulgarity in some projects offends me greatly, but perhaps to try to propose to the public another way of listening to the music, another way also to join the styles, the ones with the others, and then to make the discovery of new repertoires, because finally the repertoire is absolutely immense and we play a small part of it. So once again there is a real responsibility, I think, or willingness on the part of the performers and programmers to be able to take the public towards something that is not an incessant repetition of the same system.”In March 2022, to the eager anticipation of her fans, Vanessa released another album featuring minimalistic music, “Study of the Invisible.” “The ‘invisible’ is for me everything that is said between the notes, which is surely the most beautiful and the most precious, that is this kind of moment which links two notes, and which finally forms a sentence. It's also the links that didn't exist at that moment between people, the links of everything that we don't tell people we love, this kind of unspeakable and invisible which forms the bounds between the beings and in the music and which surely is the most beautiful thing in fact, because precisely the words are not there in fact.”

The Compassionate French Pianist - Vanessa Wagner (vegan), Part 1 of 2

Vanessa Wagner is a highly acclaimed, award-winning French pianist who frequently performs at major venues and festivals, collaborates with world-class musicians and orchestras, and has released multiple albums. With deep roots in classical music, Vanessa also embraces contemporary minimalist composers, and boldly experiments with electronic musicians such as Murcof and Molécule, thus pioneering new frontiers for music interpretation and enhancing its understanding among people of different ages and backgrounds. In 2020, Vanessa received the highest order of merit in France, the Knight of the Legion of Honor. In February 2022, our Supreme Master Television team had the pleasure of sitting down with Vanessa and chatting with her about her life and music. The conversation started with the beginning of her piano training and her first teacher and mentor, Pierre Fremont. Vanessa then discussed the classical composers who have influenced her the most. “So Schubert, I've loved him actually since I was a kid. He has always followed me and in fact Schubert’s music is a music of intimacy, of melancholy, of nostalgia.”Being sensitive to the pain of her fellow human beings, she brought music to the disadvantaged people outside of the concert hall. Because of her tender heart, Vanessa has opened her home to young refugees who came to France without the company of adults. She accommodated them for lengthy periods of time, from several months to a few years. Her sensitivity also compelled her to make the compassionate vegan dietary choice and stand up for the innocent and meek. She has worked with the animal-people defense organization L214 Ethics & Animals and presented their video about the slaughterhouse in Limoges.Vanessa continued to discuss other classical musicians who played important roles in her music, from the Russian post-romantics to Mozart and then to Liszt. In 2018, Vanessa released the album “Liszt, Pärt: Vanessa Wagner,” bringing together two highly spiritual yet different composers.

Wondrous Underwater Structures, Part 2 of 2: Lost Cities Uncovered

Wondrous Underwater Structures, Part 2 of 2: Lost Cities Uncovered

Many intriguing stories remain hidden beneath the surface of our oceans, rivers, and lakes, including those of several underwater cities that were long forgotten or had been written off as mere legends. Traces of history can be found in the depths of the ocean around the Gulf of Cambay, off the west coast of India. In 2001, researchers from the India Oceanic Institute, using sonar to study below the sea’s surface, identified huge stone buildings in an area five miles long and two miles wide. Divers investigated the ancient city and retrieved dozens of items, including wood and pottery shards, some as far back as 32,000 years.Situated off the coast of Laconia in Southern Peloponnese, Greece, lies Pavlopetri, one of the oldest ancient underwater cities ever discovered. Archaeologists from the University of Cambridge, UK, visited the area and concluded that Pavlopetri was first inhabited in 2800 BC, although the buildings and streets appear to be from the Mycenaean Period, 1680 to 1180 BC. Researchers believe that the city became submerged after a series of three cataclysmic earthquakes occurred in the region around 1000 BC. Lake Titicaca is located in the Andes Mountains between Bolivia and Peru. It is the largest fresh-water lake in South America and was the cradle of Peru’s ancient civilizations, including that of the Incas. Their presence can still be seen in the ruins they left behind, including mysterious underwater temples thought to be between 1,000 and 1,500 years old. Also hidden 40 meters under water, in a lake between the Five Lion Mountains in China, is a maze of white temples, memorial arches, paved roads, and houses that belonged to Shi Cheng, or the “Lion City” built during the Tang Dynasty in 621 AD. The lost metropolis was rediscovered during an expedition in 2001. Ten years later, the magazine Chinese National Geography released a collection of photos and illustrations, including a map of the ancient city that showed the well-preserved impressive architecture.

Wondrous Underwater Structures, Part 1 of 2: Museums and Sculptures for Ocean Protection

Wondrous Underwater Structures, Part 1 of 2: Museums and Sculptures for Ocean Protection

Many of the world's artists care deeply about the Earth and express their concern by bringing marine environments into their work. One practitioner of this new art form who focuses on the ocean is British sculptor, scuba diver, marine conservationist, and underwater photographer Jason deCaires Taylor. Jason’s work conveys many important messages, while at the same time creating opportunities to support the growth of marine ecosystems. After more than 15 years of work, Jason’s large-scale “underwater museums” and “sculpture parks” now span the globe, with each site a submerged and tidal marine environment. Two years after the 2004 Hurricane Ivan caused extensive damage to Molinere Bay on the west coast of Grenada in the West Indies, Jason deCaries Taylor constructed artificial sculptures in the local reef using long-lasting pH-neutral cement to provide a new base for marine life. The next project we’ll look at by Jason is on display at the Museo Subacuático de Arte (MUSA), or Underwater Museum of Art in Cancún, Mexico - one of the largest and most ambitious underwater art attractions in the world. Another one of Jason deCaires Taylor’s major projects is the Museo Atlántico (Atlantic Museum), the first underwater art museum in European waters. The artworks are arranged in six groups, each focusing on a different theme, including climate change, the refugee crisis, and the merging of nature and humanity. In 2019 Jason worked with Australia’s Museum of Underwater Art (MOUA) to set up Coral Greenhouse - the first underwater museum in the southern hemisphere. This work also shares the message of conserving and restoring coral reefs, for which Australia is famous. In 2021, Jason deCaires Taylor completed The Underwater Museum of Cannes, France in the Mediterranean Sea and the Museum of Underwater Sculpture Ayia Napa (MUSAN) at Pernera Beach, Cyprus, taking him 4 years. The MUSAN museum aims to raise public awareness about the declining state of the world’s oceans including the Mediterranean Sea, which are highly polluted and suffer from overfishing and plastic waste.

Charity and the JAMband

Charity and the JAMband

Through their positive songs and lyrics, Charity and the JAMband have been bringing joy, connection, and fun to kids and parents in San Francisco, USA, since 2001. After growing up in a musical family, Charity worked briefly as a math teacher and software engineer but eventually found her calling in performing and writing songs, especially for children.Charity explained her mission during a Zoom interview with the Supreme Master Television team in January of this year. “My mission as an artist and a human and a mother is through the vehicles of music and dance and mindfulness to bring a sense of joy, a sense of opening our hearts, relaxing our bodies, building community, and connecting to bring that energy into people's lives because I feel like our culture isn't always prioritizing that.”Charity is a vegan, and the message of peace and compassion for all beings is at the heart of her songs. Charity runs a “15-Day Vegan Challenge + Celebration” program that provides practical guidance for people to try the vegan lifestyle in a supportive environment. Charity has released several albums, with the latest including "Family Values," "Earth: Song for the Earth and All Beings" and "Creatures and Critters."For parents of young children dealing with stress, isolation, and confusion during the pandemic, Charity offers some advice: “Maybe the parents know this, but getting outside, get outside because being in nature and in the energy and vibrations of Earth just naturally reduces our stress and regulates our nervous system, all of our systems and our energy.”Charity also co-founded The Invisible Bee with her partner Daryn Roven and other like-minded musicians to produce songs for grownups, channeling their thoughts, feelings, and serious concerns about challenging issues such as climate change, animal-people raising factory farms, and the injustice in the world.

Chris Palmieri (vegan): Puppeteer and Activist

Chris Palmieri is a puppeteer, actor, and entertainer based in New York City, USA. His most recognizable role is that of Snug the puppy in the popular US kids’ TV series “Snug's House.” Some of you may also recognize Chris’ voice and puppetry work as Tigger in the musical stage adaptation of Disney's Winnie the Pooh. One of Chris’ most recent works is the black light puppet musical “Dinosaur Daredevil: Archaeopteryx Cleared for Takeoff,” for which he not only built over 30 puppets but also acted as director. Welcome back to our show featuring Chris Palmieri, who is not only a professional puppeteer but also a vegan and animal-people rights activist. "So I have always loved animals. I never wanted to really see or talk or think about what was going on with animals behind the scenes. And then I was working with someone who had been vegan for many years, and we started talking a little bit over time about his beliefs and his reasons, and some of the things that resonated with him. And eventually, he sent me a video that kind of just talked about the ethics of veganism and animal rights and also the environmental aspects and the health aspects. But what really, really pushed me was the video of what goes on on farms. I had never seen that. I never wanted to see that, but it was there and it was real. And I was a vegan that day when I watched that video. I started going to protests and demonstrations and community events and things like that. And I've come to really regard and empathize with animals more deeply and humans as well. I believe my empathy has grown quite a bit just by having that practice of really trying to care about and think about what it's like to be someone else. And I think that empathy is something that you can practice and grow and I'm really, really happy that that's a thing.I dream of a world built on kindness and compassion and science. I want to understand the way the world works. And I want us to use that information to make this world the best place it can be for the largest number of sentient beings as possible. Be a Hero = Be Vegan = Save the World."

An Uplifting Supreme Master Ching Hai Day Celebration, Part 8 of 8

An Uplifting Supreme Master Ching Hai Day Celebration, Part 8 of 8

The last dance that we have is a Korean dance called “Cute Dance.” This will be our last performance. After this lovely dance by the Korean initiates, the program of Supreme Master Ching Hai Day celebration today has come to a perfect ending. Should we invite the star today, Supreme Master Ching Hai, our Master to say a few words to us now? “Thank you. I have already wished all of you an auspicious New Year. Let me do it one more time. Wish you auspiciousness, happiness and good fortune. May you have whatever you wish for, be it a child, money, a husband, or a wife. Should you wish to practice spiritually, Supreme Master Ching Hai is here. Today we are so sincere that even Heaven is touched and wouldn’t stop crying. Nothing we can do about it. However, in India, they say that rain is a Blessing. (Yay!) Rain is God’s Blessing, so we ought to be happy. God has blessed us a lot today. OK, now go enjoy your meal with Buddha’s Blessings. (Yay!) Be happy and have a good appetite. (Thank You, Master.) It happens to be the end of the five-day retreat today. Thank you everyone for putting aside important work to join us here to pray together, for peace and harmony of the world and the Universe. Thank you once again. Enjoy your meal. (Thank You, Master.)” Here we also wish Master be youthful, happy, and beautiful always. “(Master, You are beautiful!) It looks nice! These people are more beautiful! Anyone will look pretty wearing this. Right? (Right.) I like to watch; I like beautiful things. (Master!) I like you to be beautiful. That’s why I’ve designed so many. I show you immediately after wearing it for a couple of hours. Just a couple of hours; not bad. It’s beautiful. It looks nice. This outfit is also beautiful. (This one is beautiful.) This design is good. (Many people will place order.) Even if my design is good, we still need to have good fabric. Understand? (That’s right.) If I don’t have the fabric, I’ll be out of inspiration. (You see, it looks so nice.) Many people will order this outfit today. (Yes. This outfit is also splendid.) I feel that each outfit is beautiful in its own way. Right? (Yes! They are all beautiful.)”

Cremona - The City of Violin Making, Part 2 of 2

14:25

Cremona - The City of Violin Making, Part 2 of 2

The art of making superb quality violins was first developed in family-owned workshops in Cremona about 500 years ago. The Amati, the Guarneri, and the Stradivari in the city of Cremona are still among the prominent families who have long-standing expertise in the manufacture of high-quality violins. Many of their products are preserved in prized public and private collections. After the passing of the last master craftsmen Antonio Stradivari and Giuseppe Guarneri in the 18th century, the spirit of Cremona was somewhat dampened. The second wave of the violin-making revival came in 1950, resulting in the establishment of many workshops over the coming decades. The new masters and their apprentices restored and redefined the tradition of string instrument making in Cremona. The Cremona instrument-making craft today follows the same methods, processes, and disciplines of the past masters. The nurturing apprenticeship culture allows the students to develop and run their own workshops with confidence. This is how the Cremona tradition is being preserved and passed on. The superior sound of the violins made by the Cremona masters has been a source of fascination for many musical enthusiasts, who often spend years to decipher the secret formula behind these masterpieces. Dr. Joseph Nagyvary, a Hungarian chemist found that one of the factors influencing the instrument quality was the chemicals used in treating the wood against worm infection in the old times. He stated: “This new study reveals that Stradivari and Guarneri had their own individual proprietary method of wood processing, to which they could have attributed a considerable significance.” “They could have come to realize that the special salts they used for impregnation of the wood also imparted to it some beneficial mechanical strength and acoustical advantages.” Perhaps because of its violin-making heritage, the city of Cremona is also a center for musical excellence, being the birthplace of the influential Renaissance composer Claudio Monteverdi. Also based in Cremona is the Quartetto di Cremona (Quartet of Cremona), a highly acclaimed chamber ensemble that is regularly invited to perform all over the world.

An Uplifting Supreme Master Ching Hai Day Celebration, Part 7 of 8

24:21

An Uplifting Supreme Master Ching Hai Day Celebration, Part 7 of 8

Next, a comedy from the USA disciples. “Âu Lạc at that time was ruled by a king who loved his country and his citizens. Unfortunately, the king passed away suddenly, leaving behind a prince and a princess who were still very young. Since childhood, both the prince and the princess have lived in the palace with all the luxury and wealth, being taught and spoiled by the late king’s officials. Therefore, as they grow up, the princess becomes more and more stubborn, arrogant and hard-headed. The young prince, instead of learning how to rule the country, indulges in the pleasures of the royal life.”“Your Royal Princess, I just caught three robbers who were snooping around in the palace.” “(Hold on. What did you guys steal from the palace? Let me see. Oh, my royal brother! This precious treasure has been passed down by our ancestors for thousands of years. Nobody has opened it yet.) My royal sister! (My royal brother!) My royal sister, this is the greatest gift that I have ever received, that I can see and hear God. I could not believe that She is so charming and beautiful. I feel like I just woken up from a long, long dream. (Yes, I feel the same.) At this time, in the presence of God, I would like to sing a song to offer to God. (I also want to dance as an offering to God. Let me call the concubines so that they can dance with me.)” “Mother gives me everything Her whole youth. Her tender love Larger than the sea, bigger than the sky. Mother is a pure, cool breeze A passion fruit, a sorbus tree. Mother is the flower, Mother is the fragrance, Mother is the source of miraculous love.” “Loving us, mum sang soothing words. To lull us to sleep, she didn't mind having wakeful nights. For many years, her tears flowed down like streams, flowing into our hearts, her hair was already gray.” “From now on, we will walk on the path of the Tao. I will use wisdom and love to rule the citizens in a wiser way. (And I will be a more exemplary princess. I will not be naughty, and will show love to others.) (Your Majesty, from now on, my two brothers and I will follow you, to help you deal with national defense, and spend the rest of our lives practicing spiritually.) (That’s very good! It is very hard to attain a human body. So, we must take this opportunity to practice spiritually. From now on, we will walk on the path of the Tao, to go back to the Kingdom of God.)”

Cremona - The City of Violin Making, Part 1 of 2

Cremona - The City of Violin Making, Part 1 of 2

The violin is one of the most versatile musical instruments in the world. It can be played by anyone regardless of background and ethnicity to express different musical genres and cultural traditions. This timeless string instrument has undergone many transformations in becoming the modern style of the violin that we know today. The "Traditional violin craftsmanship in Cremona" was declared an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2012.Located on the bank of the River Po in the middle of the Po Valley region of Lombardy, northern Italy, the city of Cremona, one hour’s drive from Milan, with 72,000 inhabitants, is famous for many marvelous historical sites and impressive architecture. Above all, Cremona is famous for its excellence in the making of violins and violas for the last 400 years. Its extraordinary craftsmanship is evident in the magnificent instruments produced by hundreds of workshops and violin makers in the city who continue to pride themselves as one of the finest in the world. There are several prominent violin-making families in Cremona. Born in 1505, Andrea Amati often called “the father of the modern violin” belonged to the first generation of violin-making families. Stradivari’s instruments are still highly appreciated and sought after today by many collectors fetching vast sums of money. With more than 500 years of history, the Cremona violin-making craft has been a great asset to the development of stringed instrument manufacturing globally. Steeped in musical tradition as well as in the art of carving and painting, Cremona’s master instrument makers established the basic standards and techniques in the making of violins and other string instruments, that have been emulated by craftsmen throughout the world. Each hand-made Cremonese instrument is unique, as they combine different kinds of wood using techniques particular to each instrument, thus making it impossible to produce two identical violins.

An Uplifting Supreme Master Ching Hai Day Celebration, Part 6 of 8

28:23

An Uplifting Supreme Master Ching Hai Day Celebration, Part 6 of 8

And the next is an Indonesian traditional dance. “Shine the Divine light Light your way. Eternal light of happiness Give to others quickly. Indeed tranquil healthiness. Yes, true happiness In this lifetime.” The next performance is performed by the Hawaiian disciples, singing, “In This Life.” “For all I’ve been blessed with in this life There was an emptiness, in me. I was imprisoned and I could not find the key. With one kind touch, You set me free. So, let the world stop turning And let the sun stop burning. Let them tell me love’s not worth going through. And if it all falls apart I will know deep in my heart That the only thing that mattered had come true. In this life, I had found You. For every mountain I had climbed And every raging river crossed You were the treasure that I longed to find. Without Your love I would be lost. So, let the world stop turning Let the sun stop burning. Let them tell me love’s not worth going through. And if it all falls apart I will know deep in my heart That the only thing that mattered had come true. In this life, I was loved by You. I know that I’ll live forever And forever I’ll be loving You. I’ll be loving You.” Coming up is a “Fan Dance” brought to us by the Korean initiates. The next song is brought to us by the U.S. initiates, “Angels’ Lullaby.” “We wrote this song for the children because they are our future and for the child inside of each of us.” “Take a child to your heart with you tonight. Hold him, comfort him, protect him from his fright. Tell him, in this world, he'll never be alone. He has spirit guides, who lead him to his home. Tell him, ‘Do you know that you’ve got an angel on your shoulder?’ She's loving you now, and she'll never leave as you grow older. So, listen deeply in your heart, let your conscience be your guide. Just remember, little one, you’ve got an angel deep inside.” The next performance is a Samba Dance brought to us by the initiates from Taipei, Formosa (Taiwan). This carnival Samba symbolizes us, the initiates practicing the Quan Yin Method. After receiving the initiation from Master, we are liberated from worries and sufferings. Since then, our souls can enjoy eternal bliss in Heaven. Thank You, Master.

An Uplifting Supreme Master Ching Hai Day Celebration, Part 5 of 8

27:40

An Uplifting Supreme Master Ching Hai Day Celebration, Part 5 of 8

Next, the disciples from Âu Lạc (Vietnam). It’s a traditional dance. “Floating, Áo Dài dress floating Green is the homeland’s grass field. I heard your every step Stirring the street to the small town. Floating, the familiar Áo Dài dress The bird wings flapping in the wind. I heard from your heart The singing voice filled with love. Even if I would be going far away Homeland stays forever in my heart.”Next from the Formosan (Taiwanese) disciples singing and dancing. “The wind filled the sail of my boat. Following the wind, my boat flows, taking me to the place that I long to be. The wind filled the sail of my boat. My lady, how I long to see you, pouring out my feelings for you.” Performance by the Taoyuan initiates. The “Boat Song” truly is up to the national concert hall standard. We thank them for their performance. Coming up is a solo performance by an Australian initiate. “The Blind and the Cripple.” “What poor Christ? (Him, Jesus Christ. In person. The Son of God. He’s very very holy Son. They say that He has done some amazing, miraculous things. He has cured the worst diseases known in the world.)Blessed be the Holy Son that’s healing me. I see things that I have never seen in my life. I was a wretched animal to try to run away from Him, because there is nothing in the world so sweet and joyful as He. (I must have been really unfortunate to get looked at by that Man, full of Love! I am going to end up dying with an empty belly. I am going to end up eating these cured legs of mine.) Now, I see it well. I was mad to have wandered off the straight and narrow path to take this dark road. I didn’t realize what a great prize it is to be able to see. Oh, how beautiful the colors are. Thanks be to God! Son of God! Miraculous Son of God, there are no words that can describe Your Holiness. Like a river in full flow, even under the weight of a cross, You still have such an excess of Love as to give thoughts to the misfortunes of poor wretches like us.”

An Uplifting Supreme Master Ching Hai Day Celebration, Part 4 of 8

28:03

An Uplifting Supreme Master Ching Hai Day Celebration, Part 4 of 8

Next, we’d like to invite initiates from Germany to perform a comedy. “Enlightened Magicians.” “Even if we’re thousands of miles apart, we still see Your elegant image. Even if we’re thousands of miles apart, we still feel Your Holy pacifying Love.” “I am the Ocean of Love Come to me. I am the River of Life Bathe in me. I am more to you than the sunshine I am above space and time! Rest in my bosom Then you'll know freedom. Rest in my loving arms Then you'll be far from harm. You will then realize I am everything That you've ever desired.”Now from Formosa (Taiwan), a “Ballet in the Rain.” Congratulations to the young initiates of Taipei for overcoming the challenge! The ballet dance in the rain is just like skating.Next, from Hong Kong, amusing singing and dancing. “Ask me how deep I love You, and how much I love You? My love for You is real. My love for You is true. The moon can speak for me. Ask me how deep I love You and how much I love You, my love for You will never change my love for You will always be the same. Spiritual practice can speak for me. Reciting the Five Holy Names triggers my aspiration. The deep love between Master and disciples teaches me to practice for eternity. Ask me how long I meditate. How deep I got into Samadhi, My heart is tranquil. My soul is raised. The world is getting brighter and brighter.I… I want I want Supreme Master I want Master’s Love I want Supreme Master Ching Hai! Why don’t you? Why don’t you? Why don’t you come here? Let us meditate together. Do Quan Yin together. Meditate together. Meditate and Quan Yin, Quan Yin and meditate. Meditate and meditate and Quan Yin and Quan Yin.” Thank you, initiates from Hong Kong. They tried very hard to get Master to go on the stage. “To get me to go to Hong Kong.” But instead, the (vegan) candies and the blessed food flew to the stage. Thank you, initiates from Hong Kong. Thank you. They will now offer flowers to Master. “It’s not that they wanted me to go on the stage. They wanted me to go to Hong Kong. So dense.”

Heartfelt Messages on Supreme Master Ching Hai Day

February 22 is Supreme Master Ching Hai Day, a day first declared in 1994 by the World Cultural Communication Association and six US governors to honor Master for Her humanitarian deeds in assisting the needy throughout the world. Master also received the World Spiritual Leadership Award at the same time for Her contribution to the spiritual elevation of the world. Master’s selfless example and Her constant efforts to alleviate the suffering of human and animal-people continue to be a beacon of Light and Hope for all of us.Today is the 28th anniversary of Supreme Master Ching Hai Day. To commemorate this time of celebration for all the good and noble qualities represented by our beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai, our Association members from around the world have written Her warm letters to express their overwhelming gratitude and admiration. In today’s program, we’re delighted to present a few of these messages along with Master’s loving responses. The first letter is from Beyza of Turkey: “Dearest Supreme Master, I wish You a Happy Supreme Master Ching Hai Day, and I wish I could give You these flowers in person, but it’s OK that I can send them in this way, I hope. Thank You so much for being in my life and on the planet, helping us all, especially in these difficult times!! Thank You for my practice! About miracles we may have experienced in our practice, there is a lot to mention, but the biggest one for me is that I found You and You gave me the initiation, the Five Holy Names, and The Gift! And You are forever in my heart. As ever, I love Supreme Master TV and all the programs. The shows are so professional. They are amazing! When I watch them, my soul literally vibrates with the positive energy. Thank You. I wish for Your dreams to come true, PEACE, LOVE, and a VEGAN WORLD, as I wish for that also! May the Heavens shower You with all the Blessings there are, and may You be in good health to carry on doing what You do, and may all the Gods and Angels protect You Always!! I love You and again thank You, Beyza from Turkey” Thankful Beyza, Master has these heartfelt words for you: “Precious Beyza, Wow! You have those beautiful flowers in your garden! What a delightful surprise to see that they also grow beautifully in Turkey, by your green thumb. And you photographed them well. You sure know I love them. Thank you. All I can say in reply to your kind words is you are so very welcome! It is an honor and happiness to have one more enlightened being in our Quan Yin group. And Supreme Master Ching Hai Day is about serving others; I hope you can find time to help others in your community. Love you too, and may you and the lovely Turkish people know Allah’s Grace and Bliss.”We’ll now conclude our program with the song, “Life is So Beautiful,” written and performed by our Association members and their children. “Life is so beautiful When people come together To create a paradise Based on Love forever. To be vegan is much fun! Let’s save the animals And become heroes Let’s save the environment And help trees like the Willow. Join the new trend And become the Earth’s friend. Let’s get together and Make the word better To humans, to animals, To the environment In this great endeavor!”

The fourth program is performed by initiates from the U.S. They will sing “The New Year Card.” “Flowers and leaves are blooming, adorning your rosy lips Spring has arrived, know you not? Bringing aspirations for the days and months ahead Many hopes and dreams with springtime returning. What shall I wish this spring? When the fresh golden sunlight imbues your hair When the gentle breeze caresses pink cherry blossoms When the new and warm spring adds beauty to the months and years. May everyone's wish be fulfilled and glory to nations in the light of peace so the soldier can return to his family and find happiness by the warm fire.”Next is a Spanish dance by Formosan (Taiwanese) initiates. Thank you, Formosan (Taiwanese) initiates for your Spanish Dance. All the costumes and outfits are designed by themselves, which are so beautiful.Next, we still have some telegrams that we’d like to read to you. Dr. Kuo Shou-Sui, coordinator of Department of Mobiles and Motorcycles of the Consumers’ Foundation. It says, “On this special Supreme Master Ching Hai Day, I wish that Master brings peace, warmth, care, and love to the whole world so as to make a better world, free of wars and disasters, with everyone creating Heaven on Earth together.” Also, another one from India, from Mr. Ashok Sinha. “This is my humble message of good wishes to You on behalf of me and my friends, that Supreme Master Ching Hai Day, 22nd of February, be celebrated with diversity and grace to fulfill the mission and make the dream come true.”Next, from Australia, “Maria's lullaby,” “Oh, My Beloved Father,” and “Amazing Grace.” “Amazing grace How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I’m found Was blind, but now I see. Was Grace that taught my heart to fear And Grace my fears relieved How precious did that Grace appear The hour I first believed. Through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come Was Grace that led me safe thus far Then Grace will lead me home.” We’re once lost, and now we’ve found the direction. That’s how we feel about following Master to practice the Quan Yin Method. For us, Master is the “Amazing Grace.”
