From the Holy Text of Tibetan Buddhism: The Hundred Thousand Songs of Milarepa – The Song of “How to Gain Happiness and Avoid Suffering,” Part 2 of 2

“How to Gain Happiness and Avoid Suffering”: He who knows his own nature And the immanent Truth, is every joyful. He who wrongly acts Is ever sad. He who rests in the state of nature And is ever spontaneously pure, is ever joyful. He who surrenders to impulses and environment Being subject to hatred and cravings, is ever sad. He who realizes that all things are the Dharmakaya (one of the three bodies of the Buddha, composed of the Buddha’s teachings), Freed from all fears, hopes, and doubts, Is ever joyful. He who is impatient, talkative, and rash, Being overpowered by worldly desires, Is ever sad.

Walking the Great Way – A Discussion on Cao Đài Teachings with Dr. Bùi Đắc Hùng and Dr. Bùi Đặng Cẩm Hồng, Part 1 of 2 (INT)

Walking the Great Way – A Discussion on Cao Đài Teachings with Dr. Bùi Đắc Hùng and Dr. Bùi Đặng Cẩm Hồng, Part 1 of 2 (INT)

Over 80 years ago, a new religion was founded with the name Cao Đài in the country of Âu Lạc (Vietnam) and has quickly grown to become the third largest religion in this country. Cao Đài recognizes that the ultimate goal of all true religions is the same; to teach humankind to live peacefully and compassionately with all sentient beings, and to realize our divine origin. The term Cao Đài literally means “Supreme Palace,” referring to the place where God reigns over the universe, and was also the name God used to impart Hiers divine instructions in the creation of Cao Đài. And we believe that God started from the Emptiness. From the Emptiness, the Tao appeared. The Tao is the Almighty, which then created Yin Light and Yang Light. The action between Yin Light and Yang Light created a “Big Bang.” From the Big Bang, the planets in the universe came into being, and then the world was created with beings such as the stones, flora, fauna, animals, and humanity.

From The Memorable Thoughts of Socrates: On Justice, Part 2 of 2

When you blame those who obey the laws, because they are subject to be repealed, you do the same thing as if you laughed at your enemies for keeping themselves in a good posture of defense during the war, because you might tell them that the peace will one day be made: and thus you would condemn those who generously expose their lives for the service of their country. In our private capacity, likewise, how advantageous is it to obey the laws? By what means can we more certainly avoid punishments, and deserve rewards? What more prudent conduct can we observe, always to gain our lawsuits, and never to be cast! And now, having shown you that the observance of the laws is the same thing with justice.

The Divine Compassion – Selection from the Kabbalistic Zohar’s Genesis, Part 2 of 2

The Divine Compassion – Selection from the Kabbalistic Zohar’s Genesis, Part 2 of 2

Today we continue with the Sefer HaZohar’s chapter entitled “Rabbi Simeon’s Reflections on the Supreme and Its Union with Human Souls.” “Within them are hidden all the great spiritual mysteries and realities that to humanity as at present must remain objects of faith rather than of reason and intellectual perception. Only by the enlightened soul can they become known in its gradual ascension through them on its way to the great and transcendent Being termed The Etermal, The Everlasting One. But this cannot be effected only as it becomes receptive of and imbued with the light and splendor of the Sefirot Binah (Doctrine Intelligence) by which it is brought into union with the Divine and enters into the enjoyment of the Beatific Vision.”

Doing GOoD is the Ultimate: Overview of Judaism with Ravi Avi, PhD, Part 1 of 3

Judaism was the planet’s first monotheistic religion. The history, lessons, and laws of Judaism are written in the historic scroll called the Torah. The Torah is also known as the Five Books of Moses as well as the Chumash or even the Pentateuch. This great scroll, as the name indicates, is made of five books. The first book is Bresheit, known as Genesis in English. The second book is Shemot, known as Exodus in English. The third book is Vayicra, also known as Leviticus. The fourth book is Bamidbar, also known as Numbers, and the fifth book is Devarim, also known as Deuteronomy.

Selections from “Four Doctrines,” “Athanasian Creed” and “Earths in the Universe” by Emanuel Swedenborg, Part 1 of 2

Doctrine of Faith: That faith and truth are one. In its origin or beginning, charity is the affection of good, and as good loves truth, the affection of good produces the affection of truth, and through it the acknowledgment of truth which is faith. Doctrine of Life: All religion is of the life, and the life of religion is to do that which is good. Those who do what is good from themselves will be called natural men. That no one can from himself do any good that is really good, is taught by the Lord.

The Timeless Way of Life - Interview with Hindu Scholar Ramanathan Brahmanandam, Part 1 of 3

The Timeless Way of Life - Interview with Hindu Scholar Ramanathan Brahmanandam, Part 1 of 3

Hinduism speaks of only one God or existence, and therefore, it is not contradicting any other religions. So, Hinduism is so tolerant and it accommodates all views, and yet maintains that the Truth is the only existence, without a second. That is Hinduism. However, there is one aspect that is not possessed by material science: the sacred testimony. The sages go far beyond your physical observation and inference. So the sacred testimony is a very very important foundation of Hindu philosophy, and it can be understood by you if you also personally follow and experience your own Self.

Selection from Zoroastrianism’s Sacred Menog-i Khrad: Chapters 14- 26, Part 2 of 2

The sage asked the spirit of wisdom thus: "Which is that pleasure which is worse than unhappiness? Wherefore do people consider these very little, these four things which it is necessary for them to consider more, as warnings, the changeableness of the things of the worldly existence, the death of the body, the account of the soul, and the fear of hell? Is living in fear and falsehood worse, or death? For kings which is the one thing more advantageous, and which the more injurious? Is it possible to provide, for one's own hand, the treasure and wealth of the worldly existence through exertion, or not? Is it possible to contend with destiny through wisdom and knowledge, or not?"

Mission of Compassion: An Interview with Zen Buddhist Head Priest Souken Danjo, Part 2 of 2

Of course, in a large sense, a vibration or a sound means a lot, I think. But, here is a word called “a spiritual sound.” It is not music, and not to enjoy a sound. It is a spiritual sound. When I intend to cherish a spiritual sound, I think it is profoundly meaningful. I think there are lots of sounds which relax your mind, or make you peaceful, or make you approach being a so-called compassionate person. There are sounds which give you the opposite reactions, too. But if the music makes us or our minds peaceful as much as possible, I think such music gives a tremendous power.

From the Book of Chuang Tzu: Chapter 18, Perfect Happiness, Part 1 of 2

I make true pleasure to consist in inaction, which the world regards as great pain. Thus it has been said, “Perfect happiness is the absence of happiness; perfect renown is the absence of renown.” Now in this sublunary world of ours it is impossible to assign positive and negative absolutely. Nevertheless, in inaction they can be so assigned. Perfect happiness and preservation of life are to be sought for only in inaction. Let us consider. Heaven does nothing; yet it is clear. Earth does nothing; yet it enjoys repose. From the inaction of these two proceed all the modifications of things. How vast, how infinite is inaction, yet without source! How infinite, how vast, yet without form! The endless varieties of things around us all spring from inaction.

Selected Mystical Works of Bahá’u’lláh, Part 2 of 2

00:13:44

Selected Mystical Works of Bahá’u’lláh, Part 2 of 2

The beginning of religion is love for God and for His Chosen Ones, and its end is to manifest that love to His servants. I swear by God! Whoso fails to obey the commandments of God can in no wise be numbered among His loved ones, for among the conditions of His love is to follow His commandments and observe His prohibitions. But since these are the days of concealment, and the Sun of eternity remains hidden beneath the horizon of being, one must gather together everyone with love and protect them. The time for the completion of the commandments and the perfection of deeds will assuredly come.

From the Sacred Text of the Universal White Brotherhood: The Desired Peace, Part 1 of 2

These new human beings will be bearers of love among all people and nations. As a result, all nations will live for one another as in a family: big nations will be the big brothers, and small nations - the little ones. They will all have Peace and Harmony among themselves. This is the Will of God, Who is the Creator of the Universe. You ask when this time will come. It will come in the near future. Modern humankind is at the threshold of a new epoch as the solar system has already entered the realm of .the Divine Dawning. When this time comes, there will be no conditions for the existence of malevolent people. They will perish one after another and the Earth will get rid of them.

Buddhism’s Sacred Scripture: The Sutra of the Lotus of the Wonderful Dharma, Chapter 4, Part 1 of 6

Buddhism’s Sacred Scripture: The Sutra of the Lotus of the Wonderful Dharma, Chapter 4, Part 1 of 6

Buddha or Gautama Buddha, also known as Shakyamuni Buddha, was a great extraordinary spiritual Master from ancient India. He then shared the merits of His practice by providing a method for other sentient beings to be freed from the cycle of death and rebirth. One of these cherished records of the Buddha’s teachings is The Sutra of the Lotus of the Wonderful Dharma, also known as the Lotus Sutra. Today, we would like to present Chapter 4 - Belief and Understanding of this sutra. “At that time, when the men of lifelong wisdom Subhuti, Mahakatyayana, Mahakashyapa, and Mahamaudgalyayana heard from the Buddha a Dharma (true teaching) that they had never known before, and heard the World-Honored One prophesy that Sariputra would attain anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (the highest perfection), their minds were moved as seldom before and they danced for joy. ‘Suddenly we have been able to hear a Dharma (true teaching) that is rarely encountered, something we never expected up to now, and we look upon ourselves as profoundly fortunate.’”

A Master’s Only Obligation is to Liberate People: Questions and Answers, Part 3 of 4 #22, Dec.2, 1988

For us Quan Yin practitioners, at the moment of initiation, all the bad karma (retribution) created life after life is completely erased. It is because the past bad karma (retribution) is completely erased that we can have Buddha's Light and enlightenment experience, that we can listen to our true Self, that we can hear the inner (Heavenly) Sound, the voiceless Sound, which is a very beautiful, inconceivable inner Music that we have never heard before. After hearing it, our body becomes very relaxed, we feel that our bad karma (retribution) is gone, and we are truly very blissful.

From Sikhism’s Holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib: Guru Nanak, Pages 14-16, Part 2 of 2

Those who are pleasing to Him are good. What else is there to be said? Wisdom, honor and wealth are in the laps of those whose hearts remain permeated with the Lord. What praise can be offered to them? What other adornments can be bestowed upon them? O Nanak, those who lack the Lord’s Glance of Grace cherish neither charity nor the Lord’s Name. The Great Giver has given the intoxicating drug of falsehood. The people are intoxicated; they have forgotten death, and they have fun for a few days. Those who do not use intoxicants are true; they dwell in the Court of the Lord. O Nanak, know the True Lord as True. Serving Him, peace is obtained; you shall go to His Court with honor. The sweetness of Truth is not fermented from molasses.

The Essenes’ Live Food Vegan Lifestyle as Part of Their Way to God: Interview with Rabbi Gabriel Cousens, MD, Part 1 of 2

The Essenes’ Live Food Vegan Lifestyle as Part of Their Way to God: Interview with Rabbi Gabriel Cousens, MD, Part 1 of 2

The Essenes, which maybe began about 500 BC, around the time of Pythagoras... Apparently, they trained Pythagoras on Mount Carmel, he came down as a live food vegan. The word Essene means “doers of the Torah.” So the Essenes were intense doers of the Torah. Their inner circle were live food vegans, the inner teachings. Because as doers of the Torah, they were following the Torah. They were following Genesis 1:29.

Selection from the Holy Kitab-I-Aqdas of the Baha’i Faith: Paragraphs 81-103, Part 2 of 2

Baha’u’llah was the enlightened Prophet and founder of the Baha’i Faith. He and His teachings are believed to be prophesied in Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and other religions. The word Baha means ‘glory’ or ‘splendor.’ The Baha’i Faith rests on three core principles: unity of God, unity of religion, and unity of humankind. Baha’i principles envision an ideal society. These principles are gender equality; elimination of all forms of prejudice whether religious, racial, class or national; harmony of religion and science; universal opportunity of education for all; a universal auxiliary language, which all humanity can use to cooperate quickly with one another; a judicious world government and the elimination of extremes of wealth and poverty.

From Sikhism’s Holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib: Guru Nanak, Pages 14-16, Part 1 of 2

"The True Lord, the Formless One, is Himself in His Own Place. I have heard, over and over again, and so I tell the tale; as it pleases You, Lord, pleases instill within me the yearning for You." You are the One True Lord and Master of all the other beings, of so many worlds. Nanak seeks the company of the lowest of the low class, the very lowest of the low. In that place where the lowly are cared for- there, the Blessings of Your Glance of Grace rain down. O my Creator! O Baba, speak only that which will bring you honor. Those words are acceptable, which, when spoken, bring honor. Harsh words bring only grief.
