Stopping Zoonotic Diseases: The Vegan Lifestyle Matters, Part 1 of 2

This two-part series focuses on certain epidemics and pandemics from the past two decades that have killed many, such as severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS), Ebola, swine flu, avian flu, and coronavirus and their roots in meat consumption or animal livestock raising, or both. We also cover how a plant-based diet is the best way to minimize zoonotic diseases or infectious diseases caused by the transmission of germs between animals and humans. “Scientists estimate that more than 6 out of every 10 known infectious diseases in people can be spread from animals, and 3 out of every 4 new or emerging infectious diseases in people come from animals.” This is known as zoonotic disease transmission. The CDC defines an epidemic as the number of cases of a transmittable disease arising suddenly above the expected level in a given population within a short period of time. A pandemic is “an epidemic that has spread over several countries or continents, usually affecting a large number of people.” It turns out that Mother Nature has already warned humanity about the meat-eating habit. The simple solution of adopting a vegan lifestyle to prevent zoonotic epidemics has been known for a long time. However, this obvious answer has been ignored….

What You Eat Matters: Dr. Caroline Trapp (vegan) on Diabetes, Part 1 of 2

In this two-part program, we are privileged to hear from Dr. Caroline Trapp about the tie between diet and a chronic health condition that sadly affects about 425 million people worldwide. She is a vegan American nurse practitioner with a doctorate in nursing practice and more than 30 years of experience in taking care of people with diabetes. “A plant-based diet is a great way to prevent getting diabetes in the first place, and if you’ve been diagnosed with the disease, a plant-based diet has been shown to turn the disease around. The research is in. A whole food plant-based diet is really beneficial for diabetes and also for heart disease and for stroke prevention and all these other concerns for people who have the disease. A whole food plant-based diet is mostly carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beans are all carbs. So, I highly recommend healthy carbs.”

Stopping Zoonotic Diseases: The Vegan Lifestyle Matters, Part 2 of 2

Today, we will talk about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and provide some tips from experts to help lessen the risk of infection. Like other coronaviruses, SARS-CoV-2 jumped from animals to humans. Some scientists theorize the pathogen started in bats, jumped to pangolins, and then to humans. The data and research findings from previous zoonotic disease epidemic and pandemic events and the current situation with COVID-19, clearly demonstrate that emergency action is needed and governments worldwide should now immediately ban all animal livestock raising and the sale of meat whether from domestic or wild animals to not only to protect global public health and save lives but also to show kindness and respect to our animal friends. Currently, the best way to protect yourself from getting infected by the novel coronavirus is to avoid being exposed to it. Regular hand washing is strongly recommended to help prevent infection. If soap and water are not available, use alcohol-based hand sanitizers (at least 60% concentration). To avoid crowds and large gatherings, skipping non-essential trips outside the home and avoiding close contact with others by foregoing greetings like handshakes and hugging. A surgical mask is designed to guard against splashes and droplets and also wall off the droplets from the wearer.

John Jezewski (vegan): Wellness Is in Our Hands, Part 2 of 2

Today, it is our privilege to feature more excerpts from our interview with John Jezewski. Mr. Jezewski is more than just a nutritionist. He is a living nutritionist and provided us with a background on how he assists people through his practice. “Living nutrition is taking the absolute latest technology and also taking techniques of enthusiasm. So people can make a proper transition to a perfect diet for them. And we’re talking about making that part of your living, part of your life.” “And helping you with supplements, with tonic herbs, and how to do exercises, when to do exercises, how to treat all these different conditions, what you can do to help that particular condition.” As Mr. Jezewski just mentioned, he recommends appropriate dietary supplementation to his clients. His view is that if our focus is to improve our bone density, the intake of plant sources of silica is the intelligent choice. “Good calcium you get from plants. You get calcium from green food basically; you eat lots of that. For bones, you need the silica, not the calcium. You need nettles; you need hemp leaf tea. You need to eat hemp; you need to eat things like nettles, hemp.” “That, with vitamin D, the sunshine, is fantastic. And then, magnesium. That, again, you get from your plants.” “a tonic herb has got no side effects, by definition. It wouldn’t be a tonic herb. So you can take that, and it works internally, and it raises consciousness. It doesn’t suppress any symptoms; it brings them out; it gets rid of them.” Introducing plant-based eating to his clients is part of Mr. Jezewski’s living nutrition practice. He is encouraged by the trends he sees worldwide in terms of the awareness that veganism is the key to wellness.

Brisk Walking – Your Steps to Health, Part 1 of 2

According to the World Health Organization, physical inactivity is the fourth leading risk factor for death in the world. Following the timeless advice of Hippocrates: “Walking is the man’s best medicine,” the UK government has published a step-by-step guide, “Moving Medicine,” for doctors to talk to their patients about the importance of physical activity in relation to their health conditions. You can reduce your cancer risk just by making small changes, and this is highlighted by the fact that so many cancer cases could be prevented through something as simple as brisk walking.” Other than physical benefits, fast walking may also improve your mood, memory, and creativity. Even 10-minutes of vigorous walking each day could make you feel much better in so many ways.

Acupuncturist Lisa K.Y. Wong (vegan): The Magic of Auricular Medicine, Part 2 of 3

Auricular Medicine is a scientific medical system used to diagnose and treat many different diseases using the ears. Because auricular points are specific locations connected to different areas of the body, if a part of our body has trouble, the corresponding point of the ear will reflect this. Based on this unique mechanism, many ailments can be found and cured by manipulating the corresponding acupressure points. The ear performs the exceptional function of recording the body’s physical history. This can assist Auricular Medicine practitioners in gathering past and present medical information about the client through a process called ear reading. “We read the ear and get the information about what you’ve been through, so basically getting your medical history from reading your ear. And not just what happened to you before, but also what’s happening now in your body; and because the ear has so much information, including that information, genetic information, the genetic predisposition that’s within your genes, that also can be detected in the ear.” In Auricular Medicine, the shape of the ear is said to resemble the resting human fetus. Based on this model, an Auricular Medicine practitioner can tell which points of the ear are associated with which parts of the body. Sometimes, simply pressing a specific place on the ear can eliminate a health condition’s symptoms. “And then, I find a pain in your ear that connects to that pain, and help them make that connection and through just simple massage of that part of the ear, their pain goes away.” Lisa developed the Healing By Design Method, an effective three-step process to initiate self-healing. She now demonstrates how to apply the three steps to relieve a headache.

Hydroponics for a Sustainable and Healthy Life

00:13:32

Hydroponics for a Sustainable and Healthy Life

Hydroponics has gained popularity in recent years. Hydroponics may be defined as the science of growing plants without soil. A nutrient solution that contains all the essential elements needed for optimum growth and development is delivered directly to the plant. Hydroponics is not only a convenient and affordable method of farming but also contributes to a sustainable lifestyle. The growth rate of a hydroponic plant is 30-50% faster than a soil-based plant grown under the same conditions. Hydroponics can help address the issue of food shortages globally and bring fresh, healthful produce closer to densely-populated areas. With the advancement of technology, the footprint required for hydroponics is decreasing. Hydroponics allows people to grow plants year-round, regardless of unfavorable weather or environmental conditions such as poor soil. Hydroponic cultivation in urban and suburban spaces can be a bonding activity for family and friends, thus boosting people’s mental health.

Acupuncturist Lisa K.Y. Wong (vegan): The Magic of Auricular Medicine, Part 1 of 3

Today, we feature the first portion of our interview with Lisa K.Y. Wong, a vegan licensed acupuncturist and Auricular Medicine specialist in California, USA. Ms. Wong will graciously guide us to better understand the ear and our body’s powerful self-healing system through the viewpoint of Auricular Medicine. “It is a complete, comprehensive medical modality, where we use the ear to do diagnosis and treatment of all the conditions in the body, up to 200 diseases, and 500 symptoms. Many of the symptoms that most people don’t even know about until much later. Ms. Wong is the founder of the Center for Healing by Design, a non-profit organization established in 2015 to help people get in touch with their doctor within. Lisa developed the Healing By Design Method, an easy 3-step process that uses the body’s built-in tools for self-healing and accelerating repair and recovery. The organization’s vision is to engage, educate and empower people worldwide with effective self-care skills to prevent and overcome health challenges in their lives. To convey her passion for spreading this easy and effective self-care method globally, Lisa scaled the highest mountain in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro, in July 2015 for her initiative called “Climb Every Mountain Self-Care Movement.” The project’s vision is to help people prevent illness and disease at almost no cost, improve lives for people with and without access to medical care, empower people to heal themselves by using the body’s wisdom and ignite a transformation in healthcare treatment through the concept of self-care. The ear is a small, yet important, part of our body in promoting health. It’s not merely an organ for hearing, but also a sophisticated structure which can be used to treat diseases. Healing through ear manipulation has been employed for approximately 2,500 years. It is recorded in the Huang Di Nei Jing, or The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine, an ancient Chinese medical text that has been regarded as the fundamental doctrinal source for Traditional Chinese Medicine. How miraculous that the body can really tell us all the conditions about, what of the body is going on, dealing with, and allows us to treat as well by manipulating the acupressure points in the ear, whether we do it with needles, or using just simply a finger. All the different ways to manipulate the ear, by giving massage, or heat, or all kinds of ways to get the body to change the energy in the body.

Ananda Dhara Yoga Village: Helping People Attain Bliss, Part 1 of 3

Ananda Dhara Yoga Village: Helping People Attain Bliss, Part 1 of 3

Today, we are privileged to introduce you to Rutger Tamminga, the co-founder of a special institution that endeavors to spread the yoga spirit, the Ananda Dhara Yoga Village – Center for Applied Neohumanism. Based in Taichung City, Taiwan, also known as Formosa, the center was established in 1995 by Mr. Tamminga, who is originally from the Netherlands, and Mohamukta of Formosa. Ananda Dhara, which means “abode of bliss” in Sanskrit, is a place aspiring to promote and apply the Neohumanism philosophy of the venerated Indian spiritual guru Sri Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar, also known as Baba, through many initiatives, including yoga and wellness classes for different age groups and people with special needs, group meditation, yoga teacher training, and storytelling workshops. Starting from scratch 25 years ago, the couple eventually established this mountain spiritual retreat center in a beautiful setting. They have also founded a kindergarten, published an assortment of yoga-themed educational materials for children such as storybooks, music CDs, and kindergarten curriculums. In this episode, Rutger shares his perspectives on yoga and now provides an overview of the practice. Mr. Tamminga feels yoga practitioners should pay close attention to diet and discusses his vegetarian lifestyle. “Part of the reason why the world is heating up is because of meat production. But to come back to the yoga side of our diet, there are other foods we also avoid taking. Apart from meat, we don’t eat eggs. They are not good for our mental peace. This kind of sensitivity develops when you practice more. The idea of yoga is to develop a purer mind, a more stable and peaceful mind. And our food affects how we think.” Yoga has also been shown to help children with attention problems, as well as to support executive function development. “We also do yoga with children who have special needs. And together with my wife we have a kindergarten, and in our school, we get children who have maybe developmental problems. And we have found yoga to be beneficial to these children also. So actually, yoga is for everyone, but it needs to be adjusted according to every person.”

The Magic Plant: Moringa Oleifera

The Magic Plant: Moringa Oleifera

“Moringa is consumed daily in India, Africa, and even the Philippines, where it is quite popular. This special plant is highly recommended by many natural therapists and experts that research medically valuable plants.” “Those [moringa] seeds can be consumed raw. We can take them dry. When they are consumed raw, they have other advantages; when they are consumed dry, they also have other advantages. We can also talk about the roots of the moringa which are also used when we want to make some medicines or some ointments, we use it. The ash even, the ash from fallen branches of the moringa, this ash is also useful. All parts of moringa oleifera are useful. Due to those three kinds of scientifically-proven advantages, moringa is called the ‘miracle plant.’ Through long-lasting, daily, regular consumption, one will notice the change!” “Moringa is a very unusual and unique plant because it not only contains a wide variety of nutrients but also they are present in large amounts. The leaves and seeds of moringa possess abundant vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, fats, minerals, and phytochemicals.” “Generally speaking, for the same quantity of moringa and the same quantity of fruits and vegetables that I will mention in a second; we have four times more vitamin A in moringa than carrots. Regarding vitamin C, we have seven times more in moringa than an orange. Regarding calcium, we have four times more (calcium) in moringa than milk. If we take beef for example, we have four times more protein in moringa than beef. There is 25-times more iron in derivatives of moringa than spinach derivatives that we call here gboma.” Different parts of this plant, such as roots, leaves, and seeds, are applied for various therapeutic purposes. Moringa has high levels of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that may lower one’s cancer risk. Research has also shown it is effective in preventing or treating various gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, and infectious diseases. “It has an effect against bacteria! So, when you are used to using moringa, bacteria have no way to grow in your body. There is also an effect against viruses. This substance does not allow viruses to grow.”

Assimilating the Yoga Spirit into Daily Life, Part 1 of 2

Assimilating the Yoga Spirit into Daily Life, Part 1 of 2

Yoga originated in India more than 5,000 years ago and was introduced to Western society in the 19th century. The many benefits it brings to body, mind, and spirit have made yoga not only a popular form of exercise but also a kind of lifestyle. Meggie has been practicing yoga for 16 years and specializes in Hatha yoga, which focuses on asanas, or pose. Asanas, pranayama, or regulation of the breath, and meditation are some of the key fundamentals of yoga. “In fact, yoga is a spiritual practice method in India. The spiritual practitioners probably do yoga first thing in the morning, then do pranayama, and meditate. This process makes their meditation more stable and concentrated.” “In the three most important yoga asanas: Salamba Sirsasana (supported headstand), Salamba Sarvnagasana (supported shoulder stand), and Paschimottanasana (seated forward bend), Salamba Sirsasana gives you 10% physical and 90% spiritual enhancement.” “In yoga practice, bending forward is about your past. Bending backward is about looking into the future, and stepping outside the comfort zone.”

Fasting Ourselves Out of the Pleasure Trap: Dr. Alan Goldhamer (vegan), Part 1 of 3

Fasting Ourselves Out of the Pleasure Trap: Dr. Alan Goldhamer (vegan), Part 1 of 3

To encourage the public to return to a healthier life, Dr. Goldhamer co-authored the book “The Pleasure Trap: Mastering The Hidden Force That Undermines Health and Happiness” to share his insightful observations on removing barriers to wellness and the practice of water fasting. In 1984, Dr. Goldhamer established the Santa Rosa, California, USA-based TrueNorth Health Center that provides medical, chiropractic, naturopathic, massage, and acupuncture services. The center is now the largest facility in the world that specializes in medically supervised water-only fasting. For more than 35 years, it has assisted over 20,000 people in regaining their health. He has followed a plant-based diet for more than 40 years and believes this healthy lifestyle is the key to reaching optimal health. His recommendations for well-being include eating whole plant foods, a SOS- (salt, oil, sugar) free diet, exercise, and sleep. As most people today are drawn to processed foods, Dr. Goldhamer considers them a pleasure trap leading to overconsumption and that this eating habit can lead to conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and auto-immune disorders. Dr. Goldhamer provides his opinion on why people are attracted to flavorsome food that is unwholesome. “This is one of the most difficult things you can ever ask a person to do - adapt a health-promoting diet in a world designed to make them fat, sick, and miserable. These are the causes of the heart disease, cancer, and stroke that are the leading causes of death and debility. And because people are addicts, it's very difficult for them at first to see it.” For people who want to back away from the pleasure trap, the TrueNorth Health Center has an effective method to help make the switch to healthy, vegan whole foods. Dr. Goldhamer explains. “That's one of the real benefits of fasting. Because during fasting, the body neuro-adapts; It's like rebooting the hard drive in a computer that's corrupted. Whole natural foods begin to have a natural appeal and the artificial stimulation that comes from essentially drugged foods if you would or foods that have these chemicals added to them, become less and less appealing.”

Ananda Dhara Yoga Village: Helping People Attain Bliss, Part 3 of 3

00:13:09

Ananda Dhara Yoga Village: Helping People Attain Bliss, Part 3 of 3

In today’s show, he discusses positive changes that have happened to some of his young students with special needs and their families while practicing yoga. “I think the most beautiful thing that I see is families become more peaceful. Because yoga basically, ultimately, is about growing love. And that loving feeling, that unconditional openness, is what yoga gives you.” “That, I think, is the most beautiful gift that we see with yoga for children and yoga in families. It changes the whole family dynamic.” “The first thing I think children learn is they don’t just get excited, they also know how to cool down. And they know how to find their peace. Now, I think this is something all the children should learn is how to find their own peace. We have a teacher in Malaysia; she is very wonderful. And she tells her children you must find your ‘peace button.’” “So actually this is a very nice thing. The first benefit. Now, the second benefit is children who do regular kids yoga, whether it’s with the parents or in the class, they don’t get sick so often. They don’t easily get colds; they don’t easily get fevers, they have better digestion, their lungs are stronger, their immune system is better. And I think this is wonderful. The third benefit I can think of now is emotional stability. Because yoga is about learning who you are, your feelings, and your thought. You have to learn to observe them, and analyze them, and then work with them.” “And another benefit is that children who are connected with their inner universe, they make better choices in life. Yoga gives this wisdom to make better choices in life. And I wish that for everybody. I think we can have a better world. So we have a slogan: ‘Yoga in schools, peace in the world.’ Yoga practice can uplift our lives tremendously. As more and more people take up yoga, we may see a positive, global shift in consciousness, leading to a more balanced and harmonious planet.”

Ananda Dhara Yoga Village: Helping People Attain Bliss, Part 2 of 3

00:13:49

Ananda Dhara Yoga Village: Helping People Attain Bliss, Part 2 of 3

In today’s program, he will discuss how children and teens enjoy healthier lifestyles by learning meditation and yoga. But first, we will briefly cover the yoga practices that Sri P.R. Sarkar’s spiritual organization Ananda Marga, meaning the “Path of Bliss” propagates. Ananda Marga’s techniques of self-realization include yoga postures, Kiirtan, Kaoshikii, and meditation. In the Western world, people tend to equate yoga solely with yoga postures. However, this only accounts for a small but essential part of the entire system and serves as preparation for meditation. Tamminga feels that all can benefit from practicing the holistic yogic lifestyle. “Now yoga, it brings you in touch with your inner self, so this connects with everybody.” This experienced yoga teacher believes it is important for children to have exposure to meditation and yoga at a young age. He explains. “I learned yoga when I was 15. Actually, I first got into yoga philosophy when I was 12. I went with my mom to learn meditation when I was 15. I never stopped, every morning and every evening for all this time. And now I am 60. So for 45 years, I've been doing meditation every day. It's my life. So we like to train children from a young age to sit down and be quiet with themselves to learn their body and find peace. And we don’t need to do it for a long time. So when they become teenagers, they don’t have such a conflicted mind, and they know a path to find their own peace because they learned it from when they were small. For many kids nowadays, we see that they have some behavioral imbalances, maybe hyperactive, maybe slow speech development, or maybe they cannot concentrate; these kinds of problems. Kids yoga can be beneficial. So actually, the practice can be used for different ages. And what really inspired me is, of course, there are so many great teachers. And without great teachers, you don’t learn. So there are people who have done things before us, and from them we learn, and then we start to practice with our children and different ages. And I think we have to be very thankful to this lineage, this yoga family where we all grow together to develop as better human beings.”

Fasting Ourselves Out of the Pleasure Trap: Dr. Alan Goldhamer (vegan), Part 3 of 3

00:13:50

Fasting Ourselves Out of the Pleasure Trap: Dr. Alan Goldhamer (vegan), Part 3 of 3

Today, Dr. Goldhamer will continue to share his wisdom on progressing to a healthier lifestyle. Skipping one or two meals in a day is easily attainable, but when it comes to truly long periods of purposely not eating, this is a different matter and requires careful guidance. “I might want to point out that fasting is done by everyone. Everybody fasts when they go to bed at night and they don't eat, for whether it's 6 hours, or 8 hours, or 10, or 12, or even as we often recommend 16 hours, people are fasting. And so now the question is, ‘What about with intermittent fasting? What if we narrow the feeding window which is often recommended?’ So by not eating 3 hours before you go to bed, let's say you don't eat after, say, 6 o'clock and you don't eat breakfast, say, before 9 am, now you've got a period of anywhere from 12 to 16 hours, depending on the specifics, where you're fasting, and some have suggested that even that brief period of intermittent fasting is enough to induce hormone changes and other changes over time, cumulatively, that may have health-promoting benefits. It's also possible by narrowing the feeding window to 8, or 10, or 12 hours a day that you may tend to eat less." "Fasting can create an environment where the body can get rid of pathogenic bacteria in the gut. You have 5 pounds (2.26 kg) of bacteria living in your intestinal tract right now, maybe 1,000 different strains. These are living creatures, living, eating, drinking, and defecating inside you right now. So, you have 5 pounds (2.26 kg) of bacteria pooing inside your body as we speak, and what your body poos inside you will depend on what you feed them. So, if you want those bacteria pooing trimethylamine oxidase into you and increasing your risk of heart disease and cancer, people may choose to eat meat. If you want to have your bacteria pooing fertilizer into you, including vitamin K and other things, then I would recommend a whole plant food diet, particularly starchy vegetable materials."

Dr. William Grant on Bolstering Health Through Sunlight and Vitamin D, Part 1 of 3

Dr. Grant is an American physicist with a 30-year career in developing laser systems for remote atmospheric sensing and a former National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) employee. He became interested in health issues and, thus, in 2004, founded the “Sunlight, Nutrition, and Health Research Center” or SUNARC in San Francisco, California, USA. In this three-part series, we'll learn about the advantages of sun exposure, namely absorption of Ultraviolet B or UVB rays that stimulate the body's production of vitamin D, which has significant health-boosting effects. “In our book ‘Embrace the Sun,’ we did mention that sun deprivation can be as dangerous as smoking. That was based on a study from Sweden which followed people for 10 or 20 years and looked at mortality rates as a function of the amount of time they spent in the sun. Those who spent more time in the sun lived longer." In our interview, Dr. Grant stated there is overwhelming evidence that vitamin D created by Ultraviolet B ray exposure can prevent, and reduce the death rate from, certain cancers.

Taiwan Adventist Hospital – A Vegetarian Hospital with a Caring Mission, Part 2 of 3

In today’s show, we are honored to hear from Dr. Hsieh Chia-Ming, a breast cancer surgeon, Taiwan Adventist Hospital’s Cancer Care Committee’s chief executive officer, and the former director of the hospital’s breast surgery department. He will share with us his perspectives on the relationship between a diet rich in fruits and vegetables and breast cancer prevention as well as about his hospital’s compassionate care for breast cancer patients. Breast cancer is a condition where a malignant tumor has developed from cells in the breast. “Breast cancer occurs most generally around the age of 40 to 69 or 70. It is lucky if the disease is diagnosed and treated in the early stages so that she still could keep her roles in the family and workplace. It is not only helpful to her health, but also mental sustenance for her. So, it is necessary to have regular check-ups. The most important point is to never let the disease happen in the first place. Therefore, a proper diet, a vegetable and fruit-based diet, and regular exercise, may be the most fundamental and better way to prevent diseases.” Dr. Hsieh discussed with us the research findings of Harvard University’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Scientists concluded that women who consume high amounts of fruits and vegetables each day have a lesser chance of having breast cancer. “It was led by America’s Harvard University. Thirty years ago, they began tracing the relationship between the breast cancer risk and intake of vegetables and fruits – that is, if your intake of vegetables and fruits is high, then your breast cancer risk will be lower. In fact, according to our long-term follow-up tracing, it is really beneficial to have a correct diet and proper exercise. These can activate the immune cells in our body to fight the cancer cells. They can suppress the cancer.” We appreciate Dr. Hsieh Chia-Ming's sharing of his medical expertise about breast cancer and how his hospital is supporting those with the condition.

Dr. Stephen Gorad (Vegan) on Quinoa - Supergrain of the Future, Part 1 of 3

Dr. Gorad, a vegan, attended school in the USA, starting with the Bronx High School of Science and then studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He ultimately earned a Ph.D. from Boston University and became a clinical psychologist. He did not feel fulfilled by this career path and thus decided to pursue spiritual practice. As part of his spiritual journey, he traveled to the South American Andes and found out about quinoa. “So, the bottom line is that quinoa is a food, and not only is it a food, but it’s the type of food that could be a staple food. The main thing was that quinoa has more protein than an+H5y of the other grains. So quinoa has all of the essential amino acids. So, in that respect, they call it+G5 a complete protein. But more than that is the ratio of the quantities of each of those essential amino acids. Quinoa has that perfect balance. It’s a perfect food for everybody. Quinoa has no gluten. Quinoa has antioxidant effects on the body. It has anti-inflammatory effects in the body. And some research indicated that it’s actually protective against cancer.
