Die Abtei Admont: Ein prächtiges Juwel des Barock

The Benedictine Abbey of Admont was founded in 1074 by Archbishop Gebhard of Salzburg. It is now the oldest remaining monastery in Styria, Austria, and one of the largest neo-Gothic sacred buildings in the country. The name Admont comes from the Latin word “ad montes,“ which means “at the mountains.” Situated amidst the gorgeous mountains of Gesäuse National Park, the magnificent Admont Abbey gloriously represents the Rule of St. Benedict of Nursia: “So that in all things God may be glorified!”

When the Buddha was alive, He had many disciples, and even His disciples could work miracles. And Jesus promised His disciples that whatever He did, they could do the same. Therefore, we owe it to mankind to practice the way Christ did, the way Buddha did. And because I owe it to mankind to attain what I have attained today, I have to share it with you. I am happy to share it with you. Whoever likes to share it, I’m happy to devote my time, my attention, my energy, even my health, my finances to you, without any request in return, except that you work for it for the benefit of yourself and for the world that we live in.

Das Jesidentum: Eine reiche spirituelle Tradition und ihre Menschen, Teil 2 von 2

The spiritual life of the Yezidis has been preserved primarily by oral tradition. Therefore, it is a living religion of the spirit which only recently has been recorded into texts. But there are guardians of the sacred textual tradition of Yezidism, and they are called the Qewwals, literally meaning “professionals of the world.” The Qewwals are the interpreters of the sacred textual tradition of Yezidism, touring the communities living some way away from Lalish in Iraq, which is the most sacred place to the Yezidis. In the presence of an image of the Peacock symbolizing the venerated deity Tawusi Melek, the Qewwals preach sermons and sing hymns while playing the holy instruments of Yezidism: the def (tambourine) and shibab (flute).

The Yezidi people are a unique ethno-religious group possessing an ancient and richly elaborate religious tradition. In fact, they believe that all the world’s religions originated from the same primeval faith. Some Yezidis maintain that "Yezidi" translates as "Followers of the true path." It is also very close to the Persian or Zoroastrian word Yazdan, meaning “God,” and Yazata, meaning “divine” or “angelic being.” The Yezidis believe their ancestors were the first people to be created in the Garden of Eden, a large area in present-day Lalish in Iraq.

Die wundersame Guelaguetza von Mexiko

Guelaguetza represents the longstanding, great occasion where native Oaxacans worshipped the ancient goddess of maize “Xilonen.” In order to pray for a bountiful harvest in the coming months, the people would gather and hold ceremonies and rituals. The modern-day festival is dedicated to the goddess of maize called “Centeotl”. The word “Guelaguetza” comes from a Zapotec term meaning “reciprocal exchange of gifts and services.” In other words, it is an event celebrating the spirit of sharing and giving, which is what makes a family, community, and county strong.

Der spirituelle Einfluss auf die japanische Architektur und Gartengestaltung

The traditional architecture of a country reflects its unique culture, and even spiritual attainment to a certain degree. As early as the Yayoi period (300 BC - 300 AD), the ancient Japanese constructed storage houses called Kura, as Buddhism grew in popularity, Kura evolved into large - scale Buddhist temples. One of the most unique features of Japanese architecture is Gassho - Zukuri, a roof resembling Buddhist praying hands pointed to the sky. Japanese architecture is strongly influenced by Zen ideology and there is great emphasis on integrating nature into building designs. Influenced by Zen Buddhist teachings of peace and simplicity, the Japanese people love their living space clean, uncluttered, and in order.

Prophet Zoroaster preached against idolatry worship. Rather, He emphasized that people should venerate only Ahura Mazda, the Superme Being and the absolute icon of Truth and light. Prophet Zoroaster also taught that each individual has the free will to choose, and that each soul will be personally accountable for his/her own actions. By engaging one’s free will to formulate good thoughts, words, and deeds, one will reap happiness or merit. Moreover, He highlighted the need to change the class structure of that time to give the people more liberty.

The Qom believe that the Creator is the Ultimate Giver, and that all of creation has invisible spiritual beings as caretakers. Each “vital space,” that is, each forest, swamp, river, and grassland-and each animal, fruit, or plant to be harvested - has a spiritual guardian. On the land(Gran Chaco), there is a spirit that takes care of the land, takes care of the animals, lives in the water and takes care. To the Qom people, life depends on maintaining a balance and peaceful harmony with all the created world, including with the spiritual guardians.

Heilige Lieder - Himmlische indische spirituelle Lieder

Since ancient times, humans have expressed their love and longing for God through singing and music. These holy songs connect us with the Divine and remind us of our heavenly home. In a sense, these blessed singers and songwriters are the messengers of God helping deliver sacred messages in all musical genres. Supreme Master Ching Hai once expressed the following praise for these artists: The artists are able to emulate the heavenly melodies and the beauties from above and try to express them on Earth as much as they can through their physical instrument and vocal. Because in Heaven, everything is so glorious and beyond imagination — full of Divine light and celestial sounds of music.

Der Nutzen spirituellen Praktizierens, Teil 5 von 5 #159K, 07. April 1991

What is God? God is the Truth, the Omnipotence of the universe, the infinitely miraculous Wisdom, the boundless and immeasurable Love. The human realm is the easiest one for a human being to become a Buddha. During initiation, at the first second, you will understand why only human beings can practice to become Buddha. “Immediate Enlightenment.” And you will understand what you never understood before. Why then does our world keep having more and more people? They were from other worlds, from hell, from plants, from stones, from animals; they became human beings. Or from other planets, who had merits, so they could come here to be human beings.
