Die friedvolle vegane Ernährung – der gemeinsame Nenner bei allen erleuchteten Meistern, Teil 2 von 4

In today's episode “The Peaceful Veg Diet – A Common Thread Amongst All Enlightened Masters, Part 2 of 4,” we will present to you the veg concept in Christianity. The following are some of the excerpts from Christian teachings: Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.” - GenesisLord Jesus Christ Himself was a vegetarian, and He forbid the eating of meat and offering of animals as sacrifice. In an interview with journalist Andrea Bonnie that was published in the Irish Independent newspaper in December 2008, Supreme Master Ching Hai addressed Lord Jesus’ teachings about a compassionate diet and biblical translation variances that may have led to misinterpretations.“(Was Jesus a vegetarian? Are there passages in the Bible that talk about whether or not Jesus was a vegetarian?) He's a pure vegetarian. He came from the Essenes tradition, and the Essenes are vegetarian all the time. We have mentioned always in my talk that Jesus did never eat meat; clearly in the Bible, it's stated in many places that humans should not eat meat at all. ‘Be thou not among flesh eaters and wine drinkers. ’ ‘Meat for the belly, belly for the meat, and God will destroy both meat and them. ’ ‘Who told you to kill all the bullocks and the she-sheep to make offer for me? Please stop the killing of all these innocents. Wash your hands because they are full of blood. If you continue to do that, I will turn my head away when you pray. ’For example like that. ” The largest surviving collection of Ebionite scriptures is the Clementine Homilies and the Recognitions of Clement, which are vegetarian gospels that condemn animal sacrifice in any form.In addition, other defenses for vegetarianism/veganism are represented here with quotes from St. Clement of Alexandria, St. Francis of Assisi and other great personages in Christian tradition.“All creatures have the same source as we have. Like us, they derive the life of thought, love, and will from the Creator. Not to hurt our humble brethren is our first duty to them; but to stop there is a complete misapprehension of the intentions of Providence. We have a higher mission. God wishes that we should succour them whenever they require it.” - St. Francis of Assisi

Buddhism is based purely on a universal idea of compassion for all life. According to Buddhism, sentient beings are subject to rebirth as other sentient beings, thus all living beings are interconnected. Shakyamuni Buddha preached vegetarianism as an important and key component in being compassionate. The Buddha states in the Mahayana Mahaparinirvana Sutra, that "the eating of meat extinguishes the seed of great compassion", adding that all and every kind of meat and fish consumption, even of animals already found dead, is prohibited.“You should know that those who eat meat, though their minds may open and realize a semblance of Samadhi, are but great raksasas who, after this life, will sink back into the bitter ocean of samsara and cannot be my disciples. They will kill and devour one another ceaselessly; how then can they escape from the three worlds of existence?”“If a man can (control) his body and mind and thereby refrains from eating animal flesh and wearing animal products, I say he will really be liberated. This teaching of mine is that of the Buddha whereas any other is that of evil demons.”The Surangama Sutra vividly depicts the dreadful consequences for flesh eaters, and explains in detail why noninjury and nonkilling should be upheld by those who practice for enlightenment and Buddhahood. “The Blessed One said this to him: For innumerable reasons, Mahamati, the Bodhisattva, whose nature is compassion, is not to eat any meat; I will explain them: Mahamati, in this long course of transmigration here, there is not one living being that, having assumed the form of a living being, has not been your mother, or father, or brother, or sister, or son, or daughter, or the one or the other, in various degrees of kinship; and when acquiring another form of life may live as a beast, as a domestic animal, as a bird, or as a womb-born, or as something standing in some relationship to you; [this being so] how can the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who desires to approach all living beings as if they were himself and to practice the Buddha-truths, eat the flesh of any living being that is of the same nature as himself? ...Thus, Mahamati, wherever there is the evolution of living beings, let people cherish the thought of kinship with them, and, thinking that all beings are [to be loved as if they were] an only child, let them refrain from eating meat...”

Japanese Norito - Shinto Prayers

Shinto is the indigenous faith of Japanese people. An ancient religion, with no founder, doctrines or dogmas, it evolves through a sense of awe and gratitude toward the nature world and is expressed through myth and ritual. In a Shinto ceremony, a prayer called norito is recited by a chief or presiding Shinto priest. Shinto prayers usually open with words in praise of the kami, make some reference to the origin possibly the history of festival, enumerate the offering presented, express the thanksgiving, report to or petition the kami and finally close with some words of respect and awe.

It’s my joy to participate in this wonderful dialogue that we had with the Supreme Master — very sweet, and very powerful. We’ve invited many people to participate in this week-long juice fast to assist them in the transition from a meat-based diet to a plant-based diet, to cleanse their emotional body, and their mental body so they can be more receptive to the spiritual intelligence. But, also to be a participant in serving the emerging paradigm on this planet. I very appreciate the fact that we can get our message of being vegan and going green, and let’s say going green diet; not just green ecology but green diet, your inner ecology, out to the whole planet through the Supreme Master Ching Hai’s incredible TV network!

In the Diamond Sutra, the Buddha said that there are Six Perfection: Giving, Keeping the precepts, Tolerance, Diligence, Meditation, then Wisdom. What is giving? Giving money, giving effort, giving mental support, and giving spirituality. The Buddha said that giving spirituality is the best giving. In the Medicine Buddha Sutra, it said: When the Medicine Buddha still practiced the Bodhisattva way, He gave whatever anyone asked of Him, every material thing. After they ate and felt satisfied and healthy, He would teach them the Supreme Method so that they could escape from the circle of birth and death.

Hinduism is believed to be one of the oldest living religions on Earth. Hindus believe in reincarnation, the law of cause and effect (karma). One of the most cherished values of Hinduism is “ahimsa,” or non-violence. An example of this is how ahimsa is honored through a vegetarian diet, which shows compassion to all beings. In this program, the hymns of praise to Hindu gods, such as king of the devas, god of fire, storm deities, are introduced.

Mahavatar Babaji, der unsterbliche Yogi des modernen Indiens: Auslese aus Autobiographie eines Yogis, Teil 1 von 2

Mahavatar Babaji is known as the deathless Master of India. He is also known as the Great Avatar. Babaji told Lahiri Mahasaya that the Kriya Yoga which He is giving to the world through Him in the nineteenth century, is a revival of the same science which Krishma gave, millenniums ago, to Arjuna. Babaji has resided for at least hundreds of years in the remote Himalayan regions of India, seen in person by only a small number of disciples and other sincere seekers. Babaji’s mission in India has been to assist prophets in carrying out their special dispensations. “Babaji can be seen or recognized by others only when he so desires.

I-Kuan Tao: Auszüge aus der Herzschrift der Klarheit und Stille, gesprochen vom Höchsten Meister Laotse

I-Kuan Tao is one of the most significant spiritual movements in Taiwan. It has been considered as one of the spiritual heritages from Taoism, a religion that believes in “The Tao that unifies all with the one.” Tao is the ultimate principle beyond all principles and the ultimate power beyond all powers. Tao existed before the formation of all, yet it was not anterior, which means the creation was embedded in it. Tao merges into the creation, yet it is not posterior, which means that it is not thereafter limited. It is only Tao that can not be measured of its immensity nor detected of its existence. All people can be of one spirit, all nations can be in peace like a family, and the Great Harmony will come true. If people can always be in the state of purity and calmness, all of Heaven and Earth will become one with them. The truly noble person does not fight; the lesser noble person loves to fight. The highest Virtue is free from the Virtue; the lesser Virtue clings to the Virtue. We also benefit from the following for our lifetime: Being closer to the true joy, Transcending life and death, Achieving ascension.

Meditation ist die Quelle der Liebe, Teil 1 von 3, 20. April 1991

Why do my disciples like Quan Yin Method? It is because they have benefited from it. The more they meditate, the more they feel the difference. They feel they are glowing, - even their outer appearance is changed. When we meditate, if we can focus all our attention on one point and put any problem before it, the problem can be solved immediately. Our power is tremendous; it’s just that we do not use it every day by focusing it on one point, so it seems that we are powerless.

Auszüge aus den Briefen von Baba Sawan Singh Ji, Teil 2 von 2

Spiritual progress primarily depends on the training of the mind. The withdrawal of the s It (Sant Mat) is a liberal system and does not stifle opinion or insist on blind belief. Masters in the flesh are rare. They are superior beings and have fully developed their latent powers. A Guru gives salvation only when alive. The sound current and the Master are within you. Animal food, even if a single particle is eaten, is detrimental to spiritual progress. The master showered his grace when he initiated you. Now your duty is to practice concentration and go up. Then love will come automatically.cattered attention into the eye center requires patience, perseverance, and faith.

Aus der Philosophie des Sokrates: Der Menon von Platon, Teil 1 von 2

Around 469 BC, Socrates was born in Athens, Greece. Many people consider him to be the father of Western philosophy. He believed that an individual’s main purpose on Earth is to discuss the truth. He state that most people focus their lives around their families, careers, and social responsibilities, when, in fact, they should be concerned about the welfare of their souls. With compassion for all life, Socrates followed and promoted a vegetarian, meaning animal free diet.

“A good deed done to an animal is as meritorious as a good deed done to a human being, while an act of cruelty to an animal is as bad as an act of cruelty to a human being.” - Hadith (Islam)“Burden not an animal with more than it can bear. We, truly, have prohibited such treatment through a most binding interdiction in the Book. Be you the embodiments of justice and fairness amidst all creation. ” - Baha’u’llah, Most Holy Book“All men have a mind which cannot bear to see the sufferings of others. So is the superior man affected towards animals that having seen them alive he cannot bear to see them die; having heard their dying cries, he cannot bear to eat their fles.” - Mencius, King Hui of Liang (Confucianism)“Before the art of cooking was known, primitive people ate only vegetables…. Thereupon the sage taught the men to attend to farming and to plant trees to supply the people with food. And the sole purpose of securing food is to increase energy, satisfy hunger, strengthen the body and appease the stomach. ” - Mozi, Indulgence in Excess (Mohism)“Don’t kill animals to make offering Sages and saints are not biased. Your sickness is due to previous life bad karma (retribution) or because of this life’s violence. ” - Encouraging Goodness Scripture (HÒA HẢO Buddism)“Our Guru, our Spiritual Guide, only stands by us if we do not eat any meat or dead bodies.” - Guru Granth Sahib (Sikhism)“Buy captive animals and give them freedom. How commendable is abstinence that dispenses with the butcher! While walking be mindful of worms and ants. Be cautious with fire and do not set mountain woods or forests ablaze. Do not go into the mountain to catch birds in nets, nor to the water to poison fishes and minnows. Do not butcher the ox that plows your field.” - Tract of the Quiet Way (Taoism)“Those plants, I, Ahura Mazda (God), rain down upon the earth, to bring food to the faithful, and fodder to the beneficent cow; to bring food to my people that they may live on it, and fodder to the beneficent cow.” - Avesta (Zoroasterianism)We now conclude our 4-part program with the thought-provoking excerpt from our beloved master Supreme Master Ching Hai. “This world belongs to everyone, including the animals. That’s why we follow a vegetarian (vegan) policy because this world has come into existence due to the force of the thinking power of all the beings that exist on this planet. We wanted this place so it exists, including the animals.” “So we’ve forgotten that we’re the co-owners, not the sole owners of this world. That’s why we shouldn’t kill animals, shouldn’t eat them, and especially shouldn’t kill any other beings.”

Die friedvolle vegane Ernährung – der gemeinsame Nenner bei allen erleuchteten Meistern, Teil 3 von 4

In Hinduism, nature is sacred and all beings are equal. The key principle of Hinduism is Ahimsa (non-violence). Many Hindus treat vegetarianism as a daily sadhana or spiritual practice. Hinduism's vast scriptures contain thousands of passages recommending vegetarianism based on the profound link between ahimsa (non-violence) and spirituality.Hindu law books base many directives on the principle of sacredness of all life. In the Manusmriti, a particularly renowned traditional Hindu law book strongly condemn the slaughter of animals and meat eating. In the Bhagavad-gita, Krishna reminds us that every living being possesses a soul, and there is the same "Lord" in every creature. This sense of identity among all forms of life and the kinship between humans and animals pervade Indian religious thought and practice.Vegetarianism has a strong tradition in Judaism, as the original design for the Garden of Eden. Judaism holds that human life as sacred, and we should diligently care for our health and adopt the plant-based diet which is the right approach as is this in-line with the teachings of God. And God said: "Behold, I have given you every herb-yielding seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree that has seed-yielding fruit – to you it shall be for food." Genesis “To relieve an animal of pain or danger is a biblical law.” - Talmud, Sabbath,Jainism also emphasizes the practice of ahimsa (non-violence), and teaches us to look upon all beings as we would upon our own selves, thus inflicting injury to them is inflicting injury to our own selves: "All beings are fond of themselves, they like pleasure, they hate pain, they shun destruction, they like life and want to live long. To all, life is dear; hence their life should be protected. If you kill someone, it is yourself you kill. If you overpower someone, it is yourself you overpower. If you torment someone, it is yourself you torment. If you harm someone, it is yourself you harm.” -Lord Mahavira

Only one reason, therefore, can motivate Babaji in maintaining His physical from century to century: the desire to furnish humanity with a concrete example of its own possibilities. Were man never vouchsafed a glimpse of Divinity in the flesh, he would remain oppressed by the heavy magic delusion that he cannot transcend his mortality. Thus it came about that a disciple of Lahiri Mahasaya was present when Babaji deemed the time to be ripe for Him to proclaim the possibility of bodily immortality. The great ones speak their words and participate in the seemingly natural course of events, solely for the good of man.

Zoroaster was a prophet who lived in ancient Persia around 1800 BC. The teachings emerged from his visions of God have become known as Zoroastrianism. Zoroastrian theology’s main tenets include the existence of one God and the personal happiness or reward that is the natural outcome of using one’s free will to formulate good thoughts, good words and good deeds. Respecting all life, Zoroaster was himself a pure vegetarian and forbade all animal sacrifice.

Baba Sawan Singh Ji, also known as “The Great Master”, was an Indian Saint and enlightened Master. Our chief aim should be to unite with our Creator. All saints are Sons of God; their mission is to make others the Sons of God; their method is the Word- sound current. This current connects the individual with its Source. The Word gives out both Light and Sound. There is no power on earth or heaven greater than the power of sound current. Provided this time is given with love and devotion. The will power becomes strong by repetition and concentration, and spiritual force is created, which awakens love and faith within.
