Selection from Zen Master Lương Sĩ Hằng’s Sacred Teachings, Part 2 of 2

Even though we say “we don’t have” , but we do have —God and Earth bestow on us the pure energy that nourishes our soul. We feel safe, healthy and light, and we can manifest all the love inside and outside of ourselves. The soul controls the mind, but if the soul doesn’t want to go upward, then the mind is causing more and more storms. When spiritual practitioners go up a little, they will be challenged by the other realms. Therefore, spiritual practitioners have to be very careful, we have to know clearly what we are doing and check up our action every day.

The Natural Way to Spiritual Liberation: Interview with Rabbi Gabriel Cousens, MD, Part 2 of 2

The Natural Way to Spiritual Liberation: Interview with Rabbi Gabriel Cousens, MD, Part 2 of 2

It’s eating in a way that uplifts the web of life on the planet, and honors the web of life on the planet, and creating eating as a sanctification and bringing holiness to all of life. And Grace happens when you’re ready. That’s God’s decision. Including eating vegan, which does create a more peaceful way – then, it brings social order. The purpose of life is to know and merge with the Divine. What I’m talking about primarily is a way of life, Sanatana Dharma, that supports your readiness to wake up into liberation. In the process of going within, we then have the opportunity to know our oneness, the Truth of who we are.

Selection from The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna: Chapter 1 - Master and Disciple, Part 1 of 2

“You were talking of worshipping the clay image. Even if the image is made of clay, there is need for that sort of worship. God Himself has provided different forms of worship. He who is the Lord of the Universe has arranged all these forms to suit different men in different stages of knowledge.” “Repeat God’s name and sing His glories, and keep holy company; and now and then visit God’s devotees and holy men. The mind cannot dwell on God if it is immersed day and night in worldliness, in worldly duties and responsibilities; it is most necessary to go into solitude now and then and think of God.”

From Jainism’s Holy Akaranga Sutra: Book I – Lecture 3, ”Hot and Cold”, Part 1 of 2

The condition of living beings arises from karma. Examining karma (retribution) and the root of karma, namely killing, examining it and adopting its contrary, he is not seen by both ends. Knowing this, a wise man who knows the world and has cast off the idea of the world, should prudently conquer the obstructions to righteousness. Thus I say. And the hero should conquer wrath and pride. Look at the great hell as the place for greed. Therefore the hero abstaining from killing, Should destroy sorrow, going the road of easiness. Here now the hero, knowing the bondage, knowing sorrow, should restrain himself. Having risen to birth among men, He should not take the life of living beings.

Selection from Leo Tolstoy’s Book “Bethink Yourselves!” Chapter 10

00:15:32

Selection from Leo Tolstoy’s Book “Bethink Yourselves!” Chapter 10

“Bethink Yourselves!” by Leo Tolstoy was written in a time of war. The short book was a persuasive appeal for peace, making one see the value in not fighting and causing suffering to humankind. “Love your enemies, and ye will have none,” Only such people realizing the kingdom of God in themselves, in their souls, will establish, without directly aiming at this purpose, that external Kingdom of God which every human soul is longing for. So that the only certain means of man’s salvation consists merely in ceasing to do that which hinders men from assimilating the true religion which already lives in their consciousness.

Create a Permanent Heaven for Yourself and Later Generations , Part 2 of 4, March 3, 1992 , Singapore

If everyone lives according to what the Bible states, and everyone sees God within, sees the (inner Heavenly) Light of God, the Kingdom of God, hears the (inner Heavenly) Sound, the Word of God or the Buddha Nature, then the world, our world, becomes paradise. Because this (inner Heavenly) Light, this (inner Heavenly) Sound, makes us become Saints, makes us become Buddhas. And the worlds where Buddhas live are Nirvana (the highest paradise); the worlds where the Saints live are Heavens, Kingdom of God.

From Theosophy’s Sacred Teachings: “The Voice of the Silence,” Fragment I, Part 2 of 2

Watch how they hover over the stormy sea of human life, and how exhausted, bleeding, broken-winged, they drop one after other on the swelling waves. If through the Hall of Wisdom, thou would reach the Vale of Bliss, Disciple, close fast thy senses against the great dire heresy of separateness that weans thee from the rest. Then from the heart that Power shall rise into the sixth, the middle region, the place between thine eyes, when it becomes the breath of the One-Soul, the voice which fills all, thy Master’s voice. Tis only then thou can become a “Walker of the SKY” who treads the winds above the waves, whose step touches not the waters. Before thou set thy foot upon the ladder’s upper rung, the ladder of the mystic sounds, thou hast to hear the voice of thy inner God (the Higher Self) in seven manners.

From The Gospel of the Toltecs - Excerpts from Chapter 11: The Teachings, Part 2 of 2

“And the true father, the roots and beginning of humans’ lineage, is good of heart; he receives things, is compassionate, and cares for everything. He raises and educates the children; he teaches and admonishes them; he gives them examples to live by; he places before them a great mirror drilled on both faces. He is a thick, smokeless torch. And here comes the mature one, a full being with a firm heart like a rock, a wise face. He is owner of his face and heart. Skillful and understanding, a good text composer, he is a Toltec of the black and red inks; he is intelligent. God is in his heart and with his heart he knows things; he talks with his own heart.

”Whisperings of Self”- Rosicrucian Scripture, Read by Dr. Hugh McCague, Part 2 of 2

”Whisperings of Self”- Rosicrucian Scripture, Read by Dr. Hugh McCague, Part 2 of 2

I am pleased to present the following excerpts from the Rosicrucian book “Whisperings of Self” by Validivar. Men are united by the fact of religious experience, not by their collective interpretation of it. The most golden treasures of life are its beautiful memories. The labors involved in complex living are far in excess of the pleasures extracted therefrom. Everything is both cause and effect. It is an effect of a past cause. But it is likewise a cause of the effect that will emerge from it in the future. Each lends the color of his understanding to his surroundings.

From The Gospel of the Toltecs - Excerpts from Chapter 11: The Teachings, Part 1 of 2

Quetzalcoatl was born in the 10th century in what is now the town of Tepoztlán, Mexico. As legendary ruler of the Toltecs, He is also known by the names of Ce Acatl, Naxcitl, and Topiltzin Quetzalcoatl. When He was young, Quetzalcoatl underwent seven years of meditation and spiritual training to become a priest. Known as both a powerful king and a holy Saint who was in communion with the Divine. Today we share excerpts from the Gospel of the Toltecs that portray Quetzalcoatl’s teachings during His stay in Cholula, in present-day central Mexico.

From the Holy Bible: The First Epistle of Saint Peter, Part 2 of 2

"Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed."

Writings of Bahá’u’lláh: The Seven Valleys, Part 8 of 8

In one sense, these letters refer to the states of holiness. The first means "Free thyself from the promptings of self, then approach thy Lord." The second means "Purify thyself from all save Him, that thou mayest offer up thy life for His sake." The third means "Draw back from the threshold of the one true God if thou art still possessed of earthly attributes." The fourth means "Render thanks unt

Writings of Bahá'u'lláh: The Seven Valleys, Part 7 of 8

O friend, the heart is the dwelling-place of eternal mysteries: Make it not the home of fleeting fancies. Waste not the treasure of thy precious life occupied with this swiftly passing world. Thou come from the world of holiness: Bind not thine heart to the earth. Thou art a dweller in the court of reunion: Choose not the homeland of the dust. “Nothing can befall us but what God hath destined for us.” Peace be upon him who follows the way of guidance! After scaling the high summits of wonderment, the wayfarer cometh to the Valley of True Poverty and Absolute Nothingness. “All on the Earth shall pass away, but the face of thy Lord. ”

Selection from The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna: Chapter 1 - Master and Disciple, Part 2 of 2

“The point is, to love God even as the mother loves her child, the chaste wife [loves] her husband, and the worldly man [loves] his wealth. Add together these three forces of love, these three powers of attraction, and give it all to God. Then you will certainly see Him.” “From time to time he should live in the company of holy men, and from time to time go into solitude to meditate on God. Furthermore, he should practice discrimination and pray to God, ‘Give me faith and devotion.’ Once a person has faith he has achieved everything. There is nothing greater than faith.”

Selection from the Holy Qur’an: Chapter 14, P 2 of 2

Allah gives firmness to those who believe, with the firm word, in this life, and in the Hereafter. Allah does whatever He wills. Allah is He Who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down water from the sky, and with it produces fruits for your sustenance. “Our Lord, You know what we conceal and what we reveal. And nothing is hidden from Allah, on earth or in heaven.” That Allah may repay each soul according to what it has earned. Allah is Quick in reckoning.

Perceive the Truth by Inner Wisdom, Part 3 of 5 April 21, 1993, Geneva, Switzerland

All the unhappiness, craving in this world comes from the dissatisfaction that we do not know the real things. If each one is enlightened and rediscovers his own greatness, there is no more crime in this world. All the greed, all the possessiveness comes from the memory that we have all things in Heaven, before we came down to this world. Therefore, to end all these, we should go back to where we belong. Not to condemn ourselves or our neighbors, but to know that we have all things within ourselves, and to help our fellow men to reach also the same level of consciousness.

Create a Permanent Heaven for Yourself and Later Generations , Part 3 of 4, March 3, 1992 , Singapore

We could make it into a golden age again, by living the way of a Christian, living the way of a Buddhist, the way of a true Hindu, etc. Take care of our moral responsibilities, help our neighbors as much as we can, sacrifice some of our wealth, our palate’s desires, in order to help in developing the world and help other needy brothers and sisters. In this way, we contribute our effort to build a better nation for the future generation to come. It is not a loss. It will be to the benefit of our children and grandchildren, and nephews and our brothers’ and sisters’ children.

Praises and Prayers to the Blessed Virgin Mary - the Mother of Mercy, Part 1 of 2

Praises and Prayers to the Blessed Virgin Mary - the Mother of Mercy, Part 1 of 2

The Blessed Virgin Mary was the Mother of Lord Jesus Christ. It is believed that She conceived the Son of God miraculously through the Holy Spirit, as before that She was visited by the angel Gabriel, who announced to Her she was selected to be the Mother of Jesus, Mother of God. Thus, she is an exceptional being of purity and innocence, goodness and virtues. In the Roman Catholic tradition, many prayers have been composed for devotees to recite in praise of and supplication to the Blessed Virgin Mary. But they all reflect the Catholic adherents, sincere faith in Her as a beloved comforter, the divine bridge between Lord Jesus Christ and themselves, between Heaven and our earthly existence.

From the Holy Text of Tibetan Buddhism: The Hundred Thousand Songs of Milarepa – “Milarepa and the Pigeon,” Part 2 of 2

I bow down at the feet of Marpa Lho Draug. Oh, Father Guru! Pray grant me Your grace-wave and accomplishment. You, eight beauties of the Deva-realm, Have offered me white rice, the wondrous fruit of Dhyana (a state of deep meditation). Eating it my body is strengthened, and my mind enlivened. As a token of my gratitude, I sing this song of Dharma (True Teaching) to you. Now, lift up your ears, and listen to me carefully. Even though one reaches the highest Heaven of the white Devas, It has no permanent value and meaning! Lovable and touching are those flowers of youth in Heaven. But however pleasant it may seem to be, In the end comes separation. Although the bliss in Heaven seems to be very great, It is merely a deceitful mirage, a bewildering hallucination; In fact, it is the very cause of the return to suffering! Thinking of the miseries of the Six Realms in Samsara (migration and transmigration), I cannot help but have a feeling of disgust and aversion – A feeling of anguish and distressed emotion! Should you intend to practice the teaching of Buddha, You must take refuge in the Three Precious Ones and pray to them. Sentient beings in the Six Realms You should consider as your parents. Give to the poor, and offer to the Guru! For the benefit of all, dedicate your merits.
