On January 22, 2022, the Respected Most Venerable Thích Nhất Hạnh, an internationally renowned Buddhist spiritual leader originally from Âu Lạc (Vietnam) passed on at the ripe age of 95. He was responsible for introducing Zen Buddhism and the concept of mindfulness to many parts of the world through his organization, The International Plum Village Community of Engaged Buddhism, with monasteries in Europe, the United States and Asia. A vegan and staunch promoter of peace, in the 1960s, Thích Nhất Hạnh was actively involved in seeking to end the conflict that was ongoing at the time in his homeland. The compassionate monk was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for these noble efforts. He was an icon of paramount spiritual importance. We share our deep sorrow for the loss. May his soul rest in the forever Buddha Land.
