In today’s news, Qatar pledges to rebuild Beirut, Lebanon hospital, United Nations report warns of global warming driving crop pests’ spread, Israeli startup builds test wireless electric vehicle charging system on Italian highway, scientists study crossing bean varieties to boost crop heat tolerance, United States sanctuary provides permanent home for senior dogs, app for easily locating vegan dining options launched in United Kingdom, and Asian elephant herd becomes Internet sensation after traveling over 500 kilometers in China.

Qatar commits to reconstruct Beirut, Lebanon hospital.

The Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), a government entity responsible for Qatar’s foreign aid and international development projects, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Lebanese Ministry of Health. The MoU confirms a pledge from QFFD to reconstruct and equip the old Beirut Hospital Karantina, which is expected to be completed within two years. The project is within the framework of the US$50 million in humanitarian aid Qatar has allotted to Lebanon after the 2020 explosion at the Beirut Port. Qatar has also established two field hospitals with a total of 1,000 beds to help the Lebanese people cope with the pandemic. Qatar is a Shining World Leadership Awards for Peace and Compassion laureate. Our sincere gratitude, Qatar, for your steadfast and benevolent support to the people of Lebanon. May Allah bless all Lebanese to live in peace and abundance.

Study warns of climate change’s accelerating spread of crop pests.

A new United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) report assesses that plant diseases and invasive insects destroy up to 40% of the world’s crop production and each year cost the global economy over US$220 billion and US$70 billion, respectively. Significantly, the substantial crop loss is intensifying world hunger and threatening livelihoods, especially in developing countries and those of vulnerable smallholder farmers. In particular, for every degree rise in global average surface temperature, the worldwide yield losses of staple crops such as wheat and rice are projected to worsen by 10 to 25%. To address pest proliferation, the FAO recommends various measures, including more research on global warming’s effects on insects and plant health as well as cross-border cooperation under the International Plant Protection Convention’s Strategic Framework 2020-2030. Thank you for the important report, United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. May all countries swiftly transition to eco-conscious practices, including the Earth-cooling vegan food system, in Divine light.

Up next, Israeli startup builds test wireless electric vehicle charging system on Italian highway. We’ll just pause to thank all the diligent modern-day rickshaw drivers, who are just around the corner ready to transport their customers. We’ll be right back, with more cheerful news on Supreme Master Television. Vegan leader: the true God worshiper.

Hi, joyful friends, I’m Ethan the vegan Common Eider. Life is so precious, I’m sure you agree. So celebrate life with me and be vegan! Many of us find it difficult to thread a needle, even with very good vision. Here is a simple and fast way to avoid multiple attempts. Just set the thread down flat in your palm, hanging over your hand. Then, roll the eye of the needle back and forth on top of a tiny section of the thread, with a little pressure. Soon a little loop will appear, which you can then pull on to finish the job. Your needle will be threaded in no time! Thank you for your attention, and much love for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all humans and us all co-inhabitants. Here’s the weather around our beautiful globe.

Israeli company testing contactless electric vehicle charging mechanism on Italian highway.

Israeli startup ElectReon Wireless has developed a wireless electric vehicle charging system that plants copper coils beneath roadways to charge electric vehicles while they drive. The project’s participating cars have a receiver installed to transmit the power to their engine and batteries. The system has already been tested in Israel, Sweden and Germany. Now, ElectReon is working with Italian businesses, including toll road operator BreBeMi, to implement the technology along a kilometer of a highway that runs between Milan and Brescia in Italy. If successful, the experiment can be expanded to more roads to reduce charging stops for drivers and may allow electric vehicles to be fitted with smaller batteries. Wow, what a cool system to look forward to in the future! Thank you, ElectReon Wireless, for this very promising innovation. May talented scientists everywhere soon bring us into an era of a more thoughtfully designed, love-centric world, in Celestial guidance.

Researchers examine hardy bean variety to ensure adequate future protein supplies.

Led by scientists from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada and Michigan State University in the United States, a team has been studying the tepary bean, which is typically grown in the arid regions of Mexico, the United States and Africa. The high protein legume can survive extreme heat stress, due to its special genes that get activated to save the plant during such times. The scientists hope to crossbreed the tepary with the common bean to ensure the latter can continue to grow beyond 2050, when it is predicted the main areas where the common species is now cultivated may become unsuitable due to the changes in the climate. Our thanks, University of Saskatchewan and Michigan State University researchers and all involved, for your wise project to safeguard the future production of beans and the protein they provide. In the grace of the Divine, may the world’s people soon switch to plant-based proteins for a flourishing global future.

United States sanctuary looks after dogs of advanced age.

The Dog Lodge Sanctuary, based in Hempstead, Texas, United States, is a safe haven where senior and special-need dogs are cared for. Run by volunteers, the non-profit takes in canines with a low chance of adoption from shelters and rescue groups. They are welcomed into this 24-hectare loving home with access to their own individual room, sofas, beds, treats, toys and medical care. Regarding the residents, co-founder Elaine Rosen said, “Each one has been a blessing to us.” May God bless you, Elaine Rosen, all the volunteers and the Dog Lodge Sanctuary, for your kindness that warms our hearts. We join in your prayer that “one day all dogs will be safe and loved,” and we also wish that all animals, young and old, can live out their lives in freedom, joy and peace, in Heaven’s mercy.

Coming up, app for easily locating vegan dining options launched in United Kingdom. We will pause for a moment to appreciate the majestic Amazon rainforest for its biodiversity, as it is home to the largest collection of living plants and animal species in the world. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more munificent news. Vegan ruler: one you can vote for. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Favorable News for a Hopeful World.

App released for plant-based diners in the United Kingdom.

A free app called Vegan Friendly has been launched to help people find vegan dining options in the UK, and at the same time, show them how easy it is to make the shift to this benevolent lifestyle now. There are two groups of restaurants to choose from: fully vegan ones and those that have an adequate choice of vegan items. Non-profit Vegan Friendly, that made the app, ensures all restaurants listed meet certain criteria to receive its certification. For example, the establishment must have some plant-based options in every category of their menu. The nation has seen a 40% increase in vegans in 2020. Great news, Vegan Friendly, on your remarkable new app that highlights where to find healthy and compassionate food choices. In God’s beneficence, may the dignified British people continue their fast shift to the plant-based lifestyle.

Asian elephant herd becomes Internet sensation after year-long journey.

A group of elephants, who left their home more than a year ago in southwest Yunnan province, China, that borders Myanmar, was seen over 500 kilometers away near Kunming, China. Social media posts document 14 elephants walking on busy streets, drinking water from a tap, eating green veggies, visiting a retirement home, and resting together. Wildlife experts believe that the loss of their habitat to agriculture and cash-producing crops could be a reason for their migration. Authorities have deployed many emergency personnel with drones to monitor the elephants and have left food for the pachyderms, while cautioning the public against setting off firecrackers, getting close to the herd, or provoking them in other ways. Our earnest appreciation, authorities and all personnel involved, for ensuring the safety of the elephants as well as the public. May the elephant family soon find a safe habitat and be sheltered, in Buddha’s protection.

When you are happy, people around you also feel it. So here is a joke to cheer up your day, it’s called, “Take Away.”

“Excuse me, waiter? I’m sorry, but I cannot finish eating all this. Would you be so kind and pack it for me, please, to take away?”

“But madam, this is a buffet.”

“That’s fine, I don't mind!”

And now we have a heartline from Hùng Đỗ in Âu Lạc, also known as Vietnam:

Dear Master and the Supreme Master Television team, Following Master’s teachings, besides meditating on the inner Heavenly Sound and Heavenly Light, I, who am nearly 70 years old, have been praying for World Vegan, World Peace every day. We spend part of our time caring for the vulnerable wild animals in our humble piece of land of a few thousand square feet. The land serves as a place to grow fruits and vegetables for our daily use and also as a sanctuary for the animals. We follow nature-based agricultural practices, thus plenty of bees, butterflies, worms, bullfrogs, geckos, jungle fowl, squirrels, dogs, cats, and so on have been living here. In particular, many birds have nested around my house, singing all day. My family is very happy. Master has “Enlightened” us to know right from wrong, to repent and correct our mistakes. Thus, we can be spiritually uplifted and return to God. During the current catastrophes, already predicted thousands of years ago, the advancement of science and technology of humans couldn’t save us from both natural and manmade disasters, which have been happening for a reason. Master, we are forever grateful to You for having saved the world from many tragedies. You are the only one who tirelessly advocates veganism together with prayers for the Earth. You are the only one who, through Your intensive meditation, can alter natural phenomena and change the orbit of the planet. And again, You have steered mankind through great tribulations. May Master and the Supreme Master Television team enjoy excellent health and be protected by the Mighty Heaven forever. Respectfully Yours, Hùng Đỗ from Âu Lạc (Vietnam)

Inspiring Hùng Đỗ, Our appreciation for writing. We are overjoyed knowing that the animals on your land are cared for through your loving actions. Thank you for being an exemplary citizen of the world. May the all-encompassing Divine brilliance surround you and worthy Âu Lạc (Vietnam), Supreme Master TV team

P.S. Master replies with these insightful words for you: “Noble Hùng Đỗ, my thanks to you for being a wonderful steward of Mother Earth by creating a safe haven to protect our animal co-inhabitants, and they in turn will bless your land and your family, by their happy, pure energy! I pray that humankind will heed the teachings of the past Masters as well as their warning prophecies to safeguard our planet, by returning to the compassionate, loving self-nature and immediately stopping the killing of innocent beings. Doing so will avert the course of disasters that are currently endangering all lives. May Buddha’s luminous Light guide you and the heroic people of Âu Lạc (Vietnam).”
