Keep Replenishing Our Protection Power and Be Unconditional, Part 1 of 2 July 5, 2018

Here is the best for you. Outside maybe you earn a lot of money but then you will spend a lot also, sweating around just for something; not as good as here. Here you are working to spread the good teaching. That’s the best merit. If you don’t believe me, you ask the Buddha. You can ask the Sutra. The Sutra is what the Buddha pronounced. He said, “Donating Dharma,” meaning the True Teaching. It’s the best donation, the best offering. You get the best merit. Without any bad karma or good karma attached to it; means pure, pure spiritual merit. And then you can go up higher.

Poems by Rumi: ”Here I Am” and ”Tales of the Reed Pipe”

The lament of the reed-flute is a symbol of the soul’s sorrow at being parted from the Diving Beloved. Listen to this reed, how it makes complaint, telling a tale of separation; I want a breast torn asunder by severance, so that I may fully declare the agony of yearning. Everyone who is sundered far from his origin longs to recapture the time when he was reunited with it. In every company I have poured forth my lament, I have consorted alike with the miserable and the happy. My secret indeed is not remote from my lament, but eye and ear lack the light to perceive it. Only the senseless is intimate with the mysteries of this Sense.

Gastroenterologist Dr. Fredric Weiss on Plant-Strong Eating, Part 1 of 2

Gastroenterologist Dr. Fredric Weiss on Plant-Strong Eating, Part 1 of 2

I have recently become acquainted with the importance of diet in treating the diseases that I treat. And so if we can somehow stem that by changing our diets and our exercise patterns, it will save us a lot of livers for patients who have congenital diseases or diseases that were certainly nothing to do with their diets or their lifestyle. Dairy, in particular, is a major cause of gas, belching, reflux, and abdominal pain. So, I think the dairy elimination can start to do wonders for patients who have upper gastrointestinal illnesses. Plant-based diets are hugely filled with fiber and nutrients that encourage water excretion by the colon.

Equanimity Of The Buddha: The Story of Ni Đề, Part 4 of 4, Aug. 11, 2015

“Everyone, every person in the world, doesn’t matter if he’s noble or lowly, rich or poor, all of that is because of their karma in the past. You sow the good karma or wicked karma. The person who are very humane and moral, humble, respect the superior, and tolerant to the lower subordinate, these are noble.” He means all this nobility lineage, richness and all that is not really a noble lineage. The person who is such and such is really from noble lineage, really can be called noble person, aristocrat. “Anyone who is wicked and violent, or stubborn, rude, impolite, or very arrogant, doesn’t know which is right, which is wrong, that is the lowly person, stupid, idiot.”

From the Nag Hammadi Holy Scriptures: Selection from the Gospel of Truth, Part 2 of 2

For he revealed it [His will] to bestow an acquaintance in harmony with all its emanations, that is to say, acquaintance with the Living Book, an acquaintance which at the end appeared to the Aeons (emanations of God) in the form of [passages of text from] it. When it is manifest, they speak: they are not places for use of the voice, nor are they mute texts for someone to read out and so think of emptiness; rather, they are texts of truth, which speak and know only themselves. And each text is a perfect truth ̶ ̶ like a book that is perfect and consists of texts written in unity, written by the Father for the Aeons (emanations of God): so that through its passages of text the Aeons (emanations of God) might become acquainted with the Father.

In Gratitude to Mothers’ Boundless Love, Part 3 of 4

If you can, you turn on the machine to wash your clothes yourself. And you can clean the floor, help her to wash dishes, tidy up the house. Don’t throw socks and hats everywhere. Even if she goes out to work outside the house, when she comes home, she still needs to do a lot of work at home. Because the more you grow up, the older and more tired the mother becomes with the years. The stronger you grow, the weaker Mom becomes, so try to think about her feelings, her physical condition and give a lot, a lot of love to the mother, and father of course.

From the Nag Hammadi Holy Scriptures: Selection from the Gospel of Truth, Part 1 of 2

So that whoever has acquaintance is from Above: and if called, hears, replies, and turns to the One who is calling; and goes to Him. And he knows how that One is called. Having acquaintance, that person does the will of the One who has called; wishes to please Him; and gains repose. One’s name becomes one’s own. Those who gain acquaintance in this way know from where they have come and to where they will go; they know in the manner of man who, after having been intoxicated, has recovered from his intoxication, having returned into Himself.

Equanimity Of The Buddha: The Story of Ni Đề, Part 3 of 4, Aug. 11, 2015

So humble, so humble, and she meditates 10, 12 hours, 6 hours at least per day. And she plants her own vegetables to eat, she never buys outside anymore because she said she cannot swallow and cannot digest otherwise. Became so sensitive after meditation too long. The more you meditate, the more humble you become. You realize who you are and who your Master is and how the teaching helps you, then you’ll be more humble, humble, very humble! So, being humble doesn’t mean you lower yourself. No, it’s not like that. The culture teaches differently outside. In spiritual practice you don’t do that. Because it’s just natural that you become more humble.

Selection from Yoga Sutras of Patanjali: Book I & II, Part 2 of 2

Selection from Yoga Sutras of Patanjali: Book I & II, Part 2 of 2

The pain-bearing obstructions are- ignorance, egoism, attachment, aversion, and clinging to life. Restraint (Yama), binding observance (Niyama), posture (Asana), regulation of breath (Pranayama), abstraction and sense-withdrawal (Pratya hara), concentration (Dharana), contemplation (Dhyana) and perfect meditative absorption (Samadhi) are the eight limbs of yoga. Of these, non-violence (Ahimsa), non-stealing (Asteya), continence (Brahmacharya) and non-possessiveness (Aparigraha) are the five forms of restraint (Yamas). These, unbroken by time, place, purpose, and caste, are (universal) great vows. Pratyahara, abstraction or dissociation, is the disjoining of the sense-organs from their respective objects, assuming, as it were, the nature of the mind itself. Thence comes supreme control of the senses.

“Okay! This is the secret: farm animals and pet animals and human beings are all the same. Does everybody here love their mothers? Does everybody here have friends? Have feelings of being sad, happy, loving? Do you bleed when you are cut? Do you need shelter and food? Does everybody here like to look at the stars and the sunrise and flowers? Do you like to play? And most of all, do you want to keep living your life?” The answer was a resounding “yes” to all the question. “There’s your proof! You are all the same.”

Heavenly Messenger: How One Small Siberian Crane Transformed Taiwan (Formosa), Part 2 of 4

The little crane is really intelligent. When I met him at the farm, he stood on the ridge and called "jiu jiu-jiu," "jiu jiu-jiu." One "Jiu" and then two more. He would call like that. How strange! He's very intelligent and sensitive. When the lotus flowers are blossoming, there are many tourists. The little crane wanted to peck at people all the time. But when I went to him and scolded him, he did somewhere else. It's true. This little crane is like a person and understands people.
