In a study published in the journal Nature, leading marine scientists from 10 different countries have determined that with concerted efforts, the ocean’s ecosystem could recover within 30 years as it is remarkably resilient. The researchers pointed to the successes of previous conservation efforts that saw the recent rebounding populations of humpback whales, seals and sea otters. They further recommended that the international community work to mitigate the climate crisis and stop pollution and overfishing. The study’s leader, Professor Carlos Duarte, said, “One of the overarching messages of the review is, if you stop killing sea life and protect it, then it does come back. We have a narrow window of opportunity to deliver a healthy ocean to our grandchildren, and we have the knowledge and tools to do so.” Thank you, scientists, for your hope-filled roadmap to return the planet’s oceans to their former glory. In Heaven’s grace, may we respect all ocean beings, for our own and our future generation’s survival.

We now continue with excerpts from Thomas Merton’s chapter on Taoism from his book “Thoughts on the East.” “My opinion is that you never find happiness until you stop looking for it. My greatest happiness consists precisely in doing nothing whatever that is calculated to obtain happiness: and this, in the minds of most people, is the worst possible course. I will hold to the saying that: ‘Perfect joy is to be without joy. Perfect praise is to be without praise.’” “Contentment and well-being at once become possible the moment you cease to act with them in view, and if you practice non-doing (wu wei), you will have both happiness and well-being. ‘Here is how I sum it up: Heaven does nothing: Its non-doing is Its serenity. Earth does nothing: Its non-doing is Its rest. From the union of these two non-doings All actions proceed, All things are made. How vast, how invisible This coming-to-be!’” “All things come from nowhere! How vast, how invisible - No way to explain it! All beings in their perfection Are born of non-doing. Hence it is said: ‘Heaven and earth do nothing Yet there is nothing they do not do.’” “Where is the man who can attain To this non-doing?” Where is Tao? “Tao is Great in all things, Complete in all, Universal in all, Whole in all. These three aspects Are distinct, but the Reality is One. Therefore come with me To the palace of Nowhere Where all the many things are One: There at last we might speak Of what has no limitation and no end. Come with me to the land of Non-Doing: What shall we there say — that Tao Is simplicity, stillness, Indifference, purity, Harmony and ease? All these names leave me indifferent For their distinctions have disappeared. My will is aimless there. If it is nowhere, how should I be aware of it? If it goes and returns, I know not Where it has been resting. If it wanders Here then there, I know not where it will end. The mind remains undetermined in the great Void. Here the highest knowledge Is unbounded. That which gives things Their thusness cannot be delimited by things. So when we speak of limits we remain confined To limited things. The limit of the unlimited is called ‘fullness.’ The limitlessness of the limited is called ‘emptiness.’ Tao is the source of both. But it is itself Neither fullness nor emptiness. Tao produces both renewal and decay, But is neither renewal or decay. It causes being and non-being But is neither being nor non-being. Tao assembles and it destroys, But it is neither the Totality nor the Void.”

Today we will learn Incredible technology applied to clothing industry to achieve the “wasteless” target in a circular fashion movement. Well, Swiss-based Dimpora has developed a membrane which can integrate with any outdoor clothes through painting, spraying, coating, or printing. Different from other traditional types of membrane, Dimpora membrane is mineral-based, biodegradable, fluorine-free, waterproof, winterproof, breathable, and seamless. That means you will enjoy nature comfortably without causing any harm to the surroundings. With a zero-waste philosophy in mind, Hallotex – based in Barcelona, Spain, with a production station in Morocco – creates clothes from recycled raw materials. One of the company’s special projects is The Loop, a fascinating way of reusing fabric to recreate new garments. In Asia, Japan-based Synflux has developed a wonderful innovation to help clothing makers reduce waste in the cut procedure. Algorithm Couture allows the production of garments with minimal waste of material and energy. When it comes to a cruelty-free and sustainable way to produce stylish clothes, perhaps the first person who comes to mind is the award-winning and world-famous fashion designer Stella McCartney. A vegetarian and animal rights activist, Ms. McCartney does not use animal fur or skin in her creations, while she is also concerned with the final destination of what we wear as she knows the fashion industry is currently one of the most polluting industries globally. Bolt Threads is a state-of-the-art technological material company located in California, USA, and makes renewable and biodegradable fabrics in laboratories. One of their innovations is Microsilk, a vegan silk inspired by spider silk, but made by humans without harming any spiders. With Bolt Threads, Stella has designed incredibly modern and nature-respecting dresses using Microsilk. Those were just a few of many examples on how clothing manufacturing can go on without damaging nature and innocent creatures, while adopting concepts of “zero-waste” and “from cradle to cradle” with cooperation of consumers and material sorters. We would like to convey our sincere gratitude to all involved in the circular, planet-friendly, and animal life-sparing fashion industry.

Today, Joan will continue to elaborate on how this treatment modality assists individuals to achieve better lives and how creativity is associated with our physical wellness. “Whenever people talk about wellness, they talk about diet, nutrition, exercise, meditation, and relaxation, but very rarely do they talk about creativity as being an essential pillar and I think it really is because when we tap into our creativity, it's so enlivening enlightening; it’s energizing.” The World Health Organization defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” Joan teaches a class called “Artful Nutrition” and explains how the creative process she teaches in this course can help remove negative thoughts. “My part in that is to get to the underlying saboteur that tends to get in the way of your good intentions. So I've usually had them make some representation of that voice inside them that says, ‘Oh, you'll never do it, or you're not worthy of being healthy, or you're too this, or you're too that,’ that very nasty, nagging voice that stops our good intentions. Again, it's a very emotional process for a lot of people because it's a message they heard from someone else usually that they're not good enough or whatever and I'll have them make some representation of that voice or that critic, that I call the inner saboteur, because to me it's the underminer and it stops you from doing what you say you want to do.” In terms of nourishment, a vegan diet is recommended by doctors and been proven in numerous scientific studies to be the most healthy and energizing lifestyle choice. By not consuming animals, our mental wellness is also uplifted as our conscience is clear. Joan and her husband Jeff are both vegan, and she now shares with us why they chose plant-based eating as well as how it benefits them. “We did a lot of radio interviews, and we both said it was like we essentially see it as eliminating a huge conflict. And I think whenever you can eliminate conflict in yourself, inner conflict, two voices, you're more at peace and when you're more at peace, you're healthier, and you're happier.”

And you saw Jesus and Abraham and Moses even. (Yes.) Just to prove to you that all great Masters, They’re working in the same benevolent way for humankind. (Thank You.) Many people are like that. The Buddhist saw Jesus, the Christian saw Buddha; just to break their concepts of religious difference. (She has two questions. The first question is: For which god did Abraham sacrifice His son Isaac for?) It was just a test. I guess maybe second-(level) god. (And the second question is: What is the difference between Western and Eastern Heaven? Is the Eastern Heaven higher in terms of level than Western Heaven?) There is no Eastern or Western. In Buddhism, we have one place called Western Paradise. It’s because Amitabha Buddha resides in the west. And another Buddha resides in the south, the south of the hemisphere, compared to our planet, so we say “west” and “east.” But they are all the same. If it’s Heaven - of course there’re different degrees of Heaven, it’s not all the same. It’s different in degree of spiritual consciousness, but not different because it’s the Western, because their nose is higher or taller, it’s not like that. We’re all humans, same. If you do bad things, you go to whatever hell. If you are good and virtuous, you go to whatever Heaven, depends on your spiritual consciousness. You might go to Heaven, but there is no differentiation between the Westerners and the Asians in terms of Heavens. (Thank You.) Any more questions? Yes. (Hallo, Master. I am very grateful to Master for all the sacrifices and effort You’ve made for all disciples, all human beings, and all animals in the world.) OK. (I My mother was a fellow initiate. She practiced very diligently, often meditating for ten or more hours daily. She also did a lot of Master’s work and had very good experiences with Master. For example, after receiving Master’s blessed food, she immediately had a very strong feeling, and she once also experienced that Master covered her with a quilt on a winter night and that she felt very warm, etc. She had a lot of experiences. However, in the several days before passing away, she suffered a great deal of pain. I don’t know where she is now. Could Master check and see if she’s fine now? She’s very good. (Wonderful.) Very, very good. (Excellent. Thank You, Master.) She is now in the New Land. (That’s wonderful. Thank You, Master.) (Thank You, Master.) Good disciples will all go the New Land. Don’t worry. (I’m so grateful to Master.) There’ll be some problem, if you’re not good. But sometimes when we suffer a little, it’s to cleanse our last trace of karma so we can go. This is because our fixed karma can’t be changed too much. It’s all right. (Yes. I felt very sorry for her because she was suffering so much in the last week before passing away.) It’s not so. She herself didn’t feel painful. What matters is that your mother has been liberated. (OK. Thank You, Master.) Whatever has happened is all illusion. (Master, I had a spiritual experience, I would like to share with You.) Two years before initiation, I used to meditate. I had an experience. I was in Abraham’s temple in Jerusalem between many Masters, such as Abraham, Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him), Musa, Prophet Jesus. I could see everyone’s except Abraham’s face. I felt like I was a woman. I was crying from happiness. Jesus asked me, “Why are you crying so much?” And then another experience I had with Jesus was that we were in a really long cave that was full of Light. There was a sound of a river nearby in the cave. I was really happy until Jesus left.) Good! Good! So you can see the Prophet Muhammad, Peace be upon Him, and Jesus; They are friends. You are Muhammadan? Muslim, right? (Yes.) And you saw Jesus and Abraham and Moses even. (Yes.) Just to prove to you that all great Masters, They’re working in the same benevolent way for humankind. (Thank You.) Many people are like that. The Buddhist saw Jesus, the Christian saw Buddha; just to break their concepts of religious difference. Very good. Congratulations! (Thank You. Thank You.) (Master, You’ve just mentioned about the relationship between wife and husband comes from the power of peace from Heaven. May I ask which Heaven it is? On which level is the Heaven?) It depends on both of you. There’re higher Heavens and lower Heavens. The power comes from the heaven where you are. As to which level, it’s different. It’s the Third Level at least because it’s the power of creation. You can also practice this kind of method, but it’s not as good as the Quan Yin Method. Quan Yin Method is the best. All enlightened Masters emphasized this method. How many methods did Buddha know? But He still said that the Quan Yin Method was the best. Other enlightened Masters did not talk about other methods. They told people to practice the Quan Yin Method and that was enough. This is because talking about too many other methods would distract Their disciples’ attention. They would want to try this and that, and have their attention distracted. That’s why it’s the best to practice the Quan Yin Method. One method is enough. It is the best. (Master, can You explain more about the spiritual power? We practice for spirituality, but that kind of atmosphere becomes manifest power or whatever? Because I don’t understand.) What kind of power do you need? (I’m just curious about the spiritual power, because last time in the Christmas retreat, You explained the Surangama Sutra.) OK, understand. (Yes.) That spiritual power is not the highest spiritual power. Maybe the Buddha did not explain in the modern term. So, anybody who practices will get spiritual power, but it’s different level. Maybe it’s low spiritual power that he wants. Meaning maybe he wants magic power. He wants magical power. And at that time, they also said it’s “spiritual power.” Of course, because it’s not material power, so the Buddha maybe termed it all in “spiritual power.” But actually, the Buddha meant those lower powers, even spiritual powers, but lower. Like you want to see the Heaven, you want to see the hell, you want to have some magical power. These are not ultimate power; they are not liberating power. (I don’t want magical power.) No, better not. (But that time, Master once mentioned, saying like, “Rather than lose 1,000 lifetimes of human body, but never lose spiritual power; otherwise, you won’t recognize the real Master.”) Different, different. (It’s different?) Different power, yes. Maybe the translation. Buddha spoke in an ancient language, and the translator just said “spiritual power.” Because when you read on, you know that the Buddha didn’t mean the highest spiritual power. He meant those lower ones, still had desires, something like that; or magical power; or the power to go to Heaven and Earth at will, some stuff like that. Some people call that “spiritual power.” What I mean is your original spiritual power that you never lose. And when you practice, you unveil some of that, more. It’s like you have Buddha Nature, but you don’t know much. So slowly, slowly, you discover more and more. It’s like your house is new. It’s your house, but you forget. You have too many rooms. One day you go to this room, the next day you go to the next room, to see what you have. They say that the Queen of England has so much treasure that she doesn’t even know all that she has. What for she needs to know all of them anyway? We don’t need all that; but if we need, we can use, automatically. The more we meditate in the Quan Yin Method, the more power we rediscover from ourselves, then we can use it, automatically. Because if you really know how to use it, your ego will come out, and the maya will make trouble. (Master, I have watched the movie, “Son of God,” again and again, five, six times. Every time I’d burst into tears. In this life, Master has done too much for the people and the planet, much more than what Jesus Christ had contributed in His lifetime. Master, we are extremely grateful to You.) Don’t compare. (Master, I have practiced with You for over 20 years, and I’ve always been grateful to You. Without Your grace, I am really too insignificant. The more I’ve followed Master, the more I feel the great power within me. Being able to use this inner power and the power of love makes me feel that I am very blessed. Thank You, Master.) You’re welcome. It’s good that you know. If you’re aware, you’ll have more self-confidence. It’s good that you have faith in your spiritual practice. No need to compare; Jesus Christ lived in a different era. People didn’t let Him live that long. So, He couldn’t do things even if He wanted to. However, He is still helping us. Don’t compare. Each Master does different things. Shakyamuni Buddha had spoken about numerous scriptures, because He was in India where the people were more benign at that time. That era allowed Him to live long and to explain many things. We are also grateful to Him. Jesus Christ had His own responsibilities and mission. We are also grateful to Him. We are grateful to all Masters. They were bound by Their destiny and could only do that much in that era. But Their work will continue. (Hallo, Master. My question now is that I usually feel very conscious on this side. But I feel more suppressed on this side, sometimes, so, I am not sure whether this is a spiritual problem. What am I supposed to do? Thank You, Master.) The pressure may not be always related to spiritual practice. Sometimes, we may be sitting in a place where there is cold air from the air-con or the wind. So, take care of your body and check where you’re facing, OK? (OK.) Keep yourself warm. (OK, yes.) Sometimes, if we have a headache, it’s because we didn’t protect our head. Just meditate on the (inner Heavenly) Sound, and immediately it’ll get well. (Yes.) OK? (Thank You, Master). You are welcome. Check the room. Not too cold and not too humid. (Got it.) High humidity will give you pain. (Yes, Master. I’ll improve and pay attention.) OK. (Thank You, Master.) You are welcome. (I love You.)

Welcome to our show, “Saving the Ocean with Defelia the Mermaid.” In our show today, we will tell a special story about a mermaid named Defelia, joined by her wonderful friends in the sea and on land. It all started with a single plastic bag, flying around on a windy day, by the ocean. Where does it come from and where does it end up? Let’s watch. The wind took it up over forests and rivers, and it eventually sank into the deep waters of the ocean. As it drifted downward, Timmy excitedly swam towards it and tried to eat it, but his head got stuck with-in. Just as he started to panic, his best friend, the mermaid Defelia appeared, as she always did, when her friend was in trouble. This rubbish and fishing business has gotten very serious. It is hurting so many of our animal friends every day. We need everyone here to help save our ocean life. I must do something! I am going to go to shore and try and talk to the humans. Maybe if we tell them about all the damage they’re causing, they might stop eating us and destroying our home. Jazzy and her mom walked down to the beach. Jazzy noticed a girl swimming along the shoreline. It was Defelia the Mermaid who waved at her. Wait, would you let Jazzy be a mermaid for a day and come with me with her underwater camera? Maybe you can take some photos of the mess in the ocean, and show them to other humans. I have magic shells for special occasions. All Jazzy has to do is wear it here then we are connected. She can turn into a mermaid with a tail, and can breathe under water. Defelia and Jazzy waved to mom before swimming off into the ocean. Their adventure had just begun.

The Reverend Thomas Merton, an important Catholic mystic and spiritual thinker, was born in 1915 to a New Zealand father and an American mother. The many life situations he encountered in his youth led him to explore religion and spirituality and eventually devote his life to God by becoming a monk, and later a deacon, at the Abbey of Gethsemani, a part of the Order of Trappists, in Kentucky, USA. During his monastic life, Thomas Merton developed his writing talent by translating religious texts and writing biographies. He also started penning poetry, as well as books and articles on topics ranging from spirituality to social justice and peace. Believing in the equality of all religions, Thomas Merton became deeply interested in Eastern traditions such as Taoism Zen Buddhism in the last years of his life. Today we’ll read a selection from Thomas Merton’s book “Thoughts on the East” presenting his views on the essence of Taoism. “The way of Tao is to begin with the simple good with which one is endowed by the very fact of existence. Instead of self-conscious cultivation of this good (which vanishes when we look at it and becomes intangible when we try to grasp it), we grow quietly in the humility of a simple, ordinary life, and this way is analogous (at least psychologically) to the Christian ‘life of faith.’” If one is in harmony with Tao — the cosmic Tao, ‘Great Tao’ — the answer will make itself clear when the time comes to act, for then one will act not according to the human and self-conscious mode of deliberation, but according to the divine and spontaneous mode of wu wei, which is the mode of action of Tao itself, and is therefore the source of all good…” “The true character of wu wei is not mere inactivity but perfect action — because it is act without activity. In other words, it is action not carried out independently of Heaven and earth and in conflict with the dynamism of the whole, but in perfect harmony with the whole. It is not mere passivity, but it is action that seems both effortless and spontaneous because performed ‘rightly,’ in perfect accordance with our nature and with our place in the scheme of things.”

“One of my main bits of advice for people who are photographing animals who want to show them or bring out the individual is to get down. Usually often, animals are smaller than us, so to get down and to get close and just to be patient and stay still and let them come to you and let them express their curiosity about you, and then you will be able to photograph something of that animal that is more about them and less about us looking down at them. What I really want to show is ‘we animals’ and how we are treating those animals. And so, it’s important to me to show the constructs that we have created in which we keep these animals. And so sometimes, the animal is not even really the subject of the photo – it’s everything that’s happening around that animal that we have done, that we have constructed.” “And I’ve also spent some time photographing at slaughterhouses recently. I’m just witnessing, I’m focusing on the individuals who are being slaughtered, and this is literally hell on Earth. I just can’t believe that we have created systems that work this way and that, not only do we slaughter beautiful living beings, but we do it in front of them, in front of all the others. It’s absolutely horrific, and it’s worldwide. It’s a complete lack of respect for all others, and it really is shocking. And that’s why, unfortunately, I have to keep getting up close to the slaughter so that we can all see that this is really how we’re doing it.”

Today, she will highlight her belief that whether human beings can continue to exist on our planet will fundamentally depend on our animal friends. “We realize today that there is an incredible cooperation, even love, a solidarity between animals! Probably much stronger than between humans. I think the future belongs to the animals. The animals will save us because they’ve kept the ecological intelligence that we’ve lost.” Nature and biodiversity are important safety nets for humankind and we must do our best to protect the natural environment. Yolaine, who always walks her talk, launched environmentally-friendly fashion events as one of her endeavors to care for the planet. The Nat Party earned Yolaine de la Bigne the 2007 Femme en Or (Women in Gold) trophy, an honor recognizing successful French women, in the category of Environment/Quality of Life. Ms. de la Bigne firmly believes the most effective way to rescue our planetary home is for all to quit eating meat. Looking to the future, Yolaine embraces a beautiful vision of the relationship between humans and animals. Let us listen to her wishes and pray that they would be realized soon. “So, to come back to men and animals, there would be real solidarity. No more animal-based entertainment, that’s clear. No more zoos with cages, but only parks where animals are respected and we try to reproduce them in order to release them into the wild and repair a little bit of all the damage we’ve done. I’d love to have reserves where nature, plants and animals can finally live in peace. And then, the maddest, most fantastical dream, we’d be able to communicate with them.” We are grateful to Ms. Yolaine de la Bigne for her loving concern for our animal friends and sharing with us her knowledge so that we can better appreciate the wonderful world of the animals. Animals are simple of heart and intelligent. They have no prejudices and are willing to give all of their love generously to protect our planet and humankind. We must change the way we view them because they are not different from us. Like Ms. de la Bigne, we also ask that you always cherish and treat them well just as we would treat ourselves.

So, it is difficult for us to concentrate on this pure love alone, unconditional and pure. Otherwise, humans would never know sickness, would never know trouble, never know discontentment, ever. Animals are here actually, to help us, to remind us of this pure love, but we’re too busy. When you have pets, they can bless you, make you feel better when you’re sad. And when you’re sick, they heal you quicker, you heal quicker, or even big sickness becomes smaller, or avoidable altogether. That’s well known. Many doctors know that and many people know that. And when you love that pet, because of the concentration of love between you, and you take care of the dog, for example, or the cat or the bird, you concentrate all on love then. So, you’re more oblivious to whatever the turbulence is outside, on the planet or other people. That’s why you avoid many sicknesses. Is that logical to you? (Yes.) Because the Goddess of Love told me one time. Remember? I told you. She said that, “Love has the component to cure all ills.” The component. But because we don’t always have this kind of love, the unconditional love, the pure love, that’s why we have a lot of trouble. We think we love a wife or husband, but it’s not enough. Even parents love children, sometimes it’s not enough. If you really have true pure love, you will hardly get any sickness or any trouble. But not because we don’t want to love, but we are distracted. We are pulled in, pulled out, pushed, torn, because of the situation of this life. Sometimes you just want to concentrate to caress your dog and love him, and then something else comes: the phone rings or the neighbor comes or sister calls or mother or friends, or any other distraction. Or your trouble; your taxman coming, your car broke down, whatever, just distractions all the time. So, it is difficult for us to concentrate on this pure love alone, unconditional and pure. Otherwise, humans would never know sickness, would never know trouble, never know discontentment, ever. Animals are here actually, to help us, to remind us of this pure love, but we’re too busy. Even if we have pets, we don’t always pay attention to them. I also do not, because I have work to do. But I love to hug them and talk to them, because that time feels so good, so peaceful. But then I have to tear myself apart because work’s calling; physical work and inside work as well. So, everyone, we are really cheated on this planet of all kinds of equipment, all kinds of instruments to give us true happiness, peace, contentment, because we have to work. This world makes us work. If we don’t work, we can’t live. That’s why we are deprived of so many sources, so many ways to find love, to find peace, to find happiness. We’re just too much concentrated outside. Some more, some less, of course. That’s why animals are really our friends. At that time when you concentrate on love, even love your partner, your children, when it’s pure, unconditional, then you are immune, immune to all kinds of karmic effects surrounding you. And also, you will be disconnected with all the troubles of the world and of your own trouble also. You’re disconnected at that time, because you concentrate on love. That is why having pets or having someone you love dearly helps you a lot. Pets are easier to love than humans. No matter whom you love, humans are more complicated in nature, have dual nature. Dogs, cats, pets, they have only one nature: that is love, uncomplicated, unconditional. Therefore, having pets helps a lot of people to avoid sickness or to minimize sickness or to heal sickness easily. That is the thing I have written about dogs, about pets. Even some karmic effect coming towards you, when you’re too concentrated on love, it also cannot reach you, cannot touch you, because it’s all from the power of undiluted attention, undivided attention and love combined. In India, they call that “Bhakti yoga,” if you will, devotion. Devotion to something, to the Master, to God, or even devoted to your wife, your husband. But it has to be truly devoted. It’s more difficult to devote your love to humans than to pets, because even if you want to devote your love to humans, they have their own ups and downs; they have their own moods, their own complications of nature. Very difficult to always follow them, follow their moods. But a pet is easier to love, because they just love you all the time, 24/7. They’re never tired. Midday, when you want to come and love them, midnight or any time, weekend, holiday, you come to love them, they always welcome and love you back. They love you even before you show your affection anyway. It’s very easy to love them. They don’t play games. They love you, just pure. Humans, you have to sometimes accompany them; their moods, their personality, their likes and dislikes and all that. It’s more complicated. You still want a story or do you have any questions concerning anything? Concerning what I just told you? (So, If you have sex and you have an orgasm, you lose five weeks?) No, you don’t lose five weeks. You need five weeks to recover what you have lost; the spiritual power. (So, what if you don’t have an orgasm, does that still take that long?) Then it’s better. (How much better?) Then it’s as if you don’t do it. That’s why I taught you a few weeks ago, control the end. (Thank You.) You can still do it to satisfy your mind, satisfy your partner, but you don’t have to go to the end. You don’t have to climax, that’s what they say. Then it’s as if you don’t do anything. Even beneficial to you, because you bring all this concentration power up, not down. When you finish, it’s all coming out. Also the physical body wellness is also coming out. That’s why you feel maybe empty afterwards, tired and sleepy. It’s very well known that men sleep immediately, and women feel very frustrated. The reason the women feel frustrated is because they’re more sentimental. They don’t concentrate only on this act but concentrate more on love, but men, they cannot help it, they’re just so exhausted afterward, empty. Empty here, empty everywhere. And the woman, if she also comes to the end, then she also feels exhausted like that. But if both do not finish, then the love will grow even more. The peace will be even more and it affects also the peaceful environment. That is the tantric method. For using that, for people who cannot avoid the couple actions, but still retain spiritual height and not lose anything, then you don’t need any five weeks at all. Even you can see the (inner Heavenly) Light, during or after. You can feel the Earth moving, during or after, and you feel very peaceful. I mean maybe immediately after that, you still feel like you’re not done, but then just a few seconds and then you feel very peaceful, very contented, and very beneficial to health and mental and spiritual as well. Many women, they don’t have this sexual satisfaction as men. Men are easier. No matter what, they will satisfy themselves. Women, not that easy. I have suspected maybe that’s why so many women come here, because they’re happier, they’re more contented. They’re not so exhausted and not so blurred and trapped like men. You see so many women compared to men. Maybe because of the dissatisfaction in the couple’s life physically, but that little dissatisfaction gives them more boost to grow love: love towards their husband, love towards others. Just the love will grow more with that. Not like diminished with the finishing line. When you reached the finishing line but you don’t cross, then you have more than if you cross. If you feel completely done with the sexual act, you don’t feel as good as if you control it; when you hit the height of that sexual desire, you stop. You don’t waste your energy and your physical fluid and all kinds of things that go with it. So that will help you even more. You won’t lose anything. That’s why they practice so-called tantric. Tantric is like that, for the couple to control their own sexual peak. Don’t lose the physical and mental and spiritual power. If you finish, you lose, then you must wait five weeks in order to replenish, recover what you lost; the dilution of your power: spiritual, mental, physical, emotional, psychological, psychic. That’s why humans keep losing, losing – losing telepathy power, psychic power, emotional power, love power. It gets less and less because too much indulgence. And nowadays it’s even worse because they advertise for it. It’s all in the open now. Children even have to be exposed to all this, in the wrong way. So, if you women, wives, feel your husband is lousy, too fast, too quick, be happy. He’s the one who lost, not you. He’s the one who loses. You, more powerful, stronger, more loving. Maybe that’s why God entrusted women with motherhood, the sacred duty of motherhood. Don’t feel sad if in bed you’re not very satisfied or happy. Don’t be sad, be happy, be happy. Feel lucky that you don’t waste too much of your power, whatever kind. Congratulations. Maybe that’s why you are wiser. You come more to group meditation, you come more to see me, you meditate more, you do more things that are beneficial to others. Because you are happy. Because you are full of power inside that’s not wasted. And then you use it for many things, even for cooking, cleaning the house. You do a lot of things, and you are not as quickly exhausted as a man. So, if you think your husband is lousy in bed, thank him. “Thank you for being so lousy, thank you.” Don’t ask him too much anymore. He’s already losing too much. Any more questions? (Master, may I ask about the pets You’ve just mentioned? The question is… do they carry karma for us?) They do. (Yes.) Some of them do. (Really.) They would carry as much as they can. They sometimes even die for you, and they don’t mind. That’s because they also know that death is not the end. They’ll come again after death. It’s our humans who don’t understand this because we’re too complicated. It’s not our fault to be born complicated. It’s just that we’re born with many complicated organs. Because of these complicated organs, we’re more intelligent, we’re able to do this and that, and to invent this and that, and we’re more capable than animals. However, animal’s spiritual consciousness is higher than ours. They can better communicate with higher power at any time. They’re more spiritual-wise, so they know more about the past and future. We humans know very, very little and we even forget more and more about it as time goes by. If we treated animals well, they’d be very grateful and then would dedicate the best in them to us. You would not know it yourself. Sometimes you could observe it, but you hardly know it. Most animals hide their talents and spiritual levels, not wanting others to know it for fear of being exploited. They do carry some of our karma. They do, but not necessarily all the time. If we love them wholeheartedly, the power out of that love will also protect us. You love them, but the power out of this love will also protect you. Then they’ll love you, and then power out of these loves will protect each other. It is not necessarily the case that they carry your karma all the time, but they will also help us, because of this love. Because they love us too much, we cannot but love them. That’s what it is, mutual love. It will help a lot. Any more? You’re welcome. Yes. (Thank You, Master, for being with us. Thank You for Your dog protecting You and warning You; otherwise, I don’t know what will happen.) The note, you mean. (Yes, yes.) Loving notes. OK. (Yes, two days ago, the crying dog warning You and You know the maya, he tries to harm You. So, I want to on behalf of our Association members, all human beings, thank You for Your dogs’ loving and caring protection.) All of your pets have magical power, you must remember that. And they help you anytime they can. Even if you are not with them, but you love them, you are connected. And whatever they can do to protect you, they will lay down their life for it. Not just my dogs. Of course, my dogs, I think they are special. They came specially to help to protect me, because they know I am always alone, mostly alone. Of course, when I am with one or two people, it’s different, but I live alone. So, they know I need some love and protection. I thank them every day. I thank them at least before they sleep. But whenever we are together, when I remember, when I am not too busy working, I always thank them. I say, “Thank you for your love, for your trust, for your protection.” And they are so happy, happy when I say that. They look at me and kiss me. They know the difference. They know that very well. All they want is that you love them and appreciate their presence and their love. That’s all they want. Whether or not you give them a lot of food or good food or bad food, they don’t mind, they don’t care. I am very grateful to Heavens; They are sending me my dogs, even though I did not want them to come down. I kept telling [them], “Don’t come back again.” They sneaked in. Somehow, we met. That’s the problem. But they are not normal dogs. Most animals, if you love them, care for them, they will use their power, their inherent power to protect you. They’d go to the end of the world to protect you. They die for you if they can. So, love your pets.

Since the last conference call a month ago with our Supreme Master Television team, our Most Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai, even while on intensive meditation retreat, followed whenever She could, the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic with deep sorrow and concern. In Her most recent phone call on Monday, May 25, 2020, Master lovingly shared further important words of advice. “I call you to remind everyone to wear masks and protective face mask even, it's better, if you go out somewhere, outside of your room, of your area. Because someone else who has the disease, might have been there before you.” “But must meditate. Three times a day, must, to protect yourself in a higher level, not just the mask and the medicine. These are just standard. Higher protection, you must create it, with the meditation practice that I have taught during initiation. Recite the Holy Names all the time and pray every day. These are the highest protection. I told you guys to recite the Holy Names all the time, anytime, anywhere. Not only to protect you, but also to protect others nearby, around you. So it's very important.” For the full broadcast of this phone conference with Supreme Master Ching Hai, please tune in to Between Master and Disciples in the next few days.

The City of God by Saint Augustine of Hippo (vegetarian): The True Mediator - Selection from Book IX and X, Part 2 of 2
We will now continue with reading passages from Saint Augustine of Hippo’s substantial work “The City of God.” He explains about devoting oneself to God, and more about the significant role of the true Mediator, Who, through His sacrifices, purifies and renews human nature. “It was truly said that man is cleansed only by a Principle. That true and benignant Redeemer brought low by His humility, manifesting Himself to mortals by the mortality which He assumed, and which the malignant and deceitful mediators are proud of wanting, promising, as the boon of immortals, a deceptive assistance to wretched men. Thus, the good and true Mediator showed that it is sin which is evil, and not the substance or nature of flesh; for this, together with the human soul, could without sin be both assumed and retained, and laid down in death, and changed to something better by resurrection.” “The Principle is neither the flesh nor the human soul in Christ but the Word by which all things were made. The flesh, therefore, does not by its own virtue purify, but by virtue of the Word by which it was assumed, when ‘the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.’” “The Principle, therefore, having assumed a human soul and flesh, cleanses the soul and flesh of believers. Therefore, when the Jews asked Him who He was, He answered that He was the Principle.” “This is the mediation whereby a hand is stretched to the lapsed and fallen; this is the seed ‘ordained by angels,’ by whose ministry the law also given enjoining the worship of one God, and promising that this Mediator should come.”

The world’s largest tropical rainforest, the Amazon is one of Mother Nature’s most precious and impressive gems. The awe-inspiring Amazon rainforest is truly spectacular for its exquisite beauty and its humble service to the local native population. It is the ancestral home to around 400 tribes and provides much needed medicinal plants and food for these indigenous communities. The Amazon is also the planet’s most luxuriant and diverse biological ecosystem of plants, birds, animals, and insects. Thirty percent of the world’s known species call this place their home. Sadly, the loss of the Amazon rainforest already threatens the lives of all the animal and plant species, causing many to become endangered and even extinct. Nearly 70 percent of deforestation in the Amazon is caused by cattle ranching. Seventeen percent of the Amazon was believed to have been destroyed as of 2018. Scientists warn that if deforestation passes a threshold, the Amazon, the “lungs of our planet,” may never recover. Raoni Metuktire, chief of the indigenous Brazilian Kayapó people, gives a heartfelt plea to the urgency of this dire situation. “We call on you to stop what you are doing, to stop the destruction, to stop your attack on the spirits of the Earth. If the land dies, if our Earth dies, then none of us will be able to live, and we too will all die.” There is little time. By switching to a vegan diet and an eco-conscious lifestyle, we can help halt the alarming rate of global warming and prevent further destruction of the Amazon rainforest.

To begin today’s episode, Julieanna shares how her vegan journey started from her compassion towards animals. “I have compassion for animals. I started this myself, personally, for animals and of course, the environment, but l also, and obviously, then the health benefits are wonderful, icing on the cake. But if you want to help animals, you also want people to be healthy too and I care about people too, and so we say we want to put the human back in humane and we want people to eat a healthy diet and have their health too.” Here we share with you, awakened viewers, Julieanna’s powerful worlds on rethinking the connection between humans and the food we consume. “I challenge you all, to consider not only what you eat, but also how you eat, to eat with intention, awareness, consciousness. Change you world and your inter-connectivity with others by basing your diet on whole plant foods.”Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Joyfully present Julieanna Hever, the Shining World Compassion Award, with all love, respect, and best wishes for your continued success. May your bountiful energy, important vegan diet-promoting efforts and overflowing joy continue touching hearts and radiating forward to brighten lives in this world.”

“The more harmful effect is spiritual. Every time. Five weeks long to recover whatever you had before. Because it’s diluted your power. Don’t think it’s a small thing. That’s why you see how many people practice even the Quan Yin Method, how many people get up to the Fifth Level.” “Actually, sex is another gift from God, but mostly humanity abuses it for different lowly purposes. In Heaven, it’s labelled as ‘Peace Power.’ The power that can bring peace to individuals or larger bodies of beings. That’s if someone knows how to use it. I don’t want to elaborate here now, for rarely can anyone master and/or practice for that reason, for that goal, but rather, could be misused again and could be also overwhelmed by it, because it is very powerful, very powerful. Whatever you see on this planet came from this power. That’s how powerful it is – the power of the Creator. So, we could create peace and we could create disaster even. It’s not the release of this powerful urge that makes any being feel peace or contentment after the sexual act, but it is the undivided attention that brings about this result. But because of its short-lived nature, most humans take it for granted and crave it again and again, as convenience or as the mood leads them. So, we have long lost our mind power and willpower to control and direct this Peace Power to a noble application.” “This theme I have been explaining for two, three times because this is the most misunderstood, the most abused element in our human life. So, I hope now it’s all clear to you why in our practice I advise you to taper off, slow down, control. I’m telling you this, so you can avoid the trap. Just practice the Quan Yin Method, which connects you to your own Self Nature. No harm comes out of it, no side effects, because it is you.”

The City of God by Saint Augustine of Hippo (vegetarian): The True Mediator - Selection from Book IX and X, Part 1 of 2
Saint Augustine of Hippo was an esteemed late 4th and early 5th century Christian bishop in present-day Algeria. Known as one of the greatest Christian philosophers, St. Augustine was a prolific writer, with about 100 books, 300 letters and 500 sermons still preserved. Among his most significant writings are “The City of God,” “De Doctrina Christiana” and “Confessions.” The respected bishop was also a compassionate vegetarian, and drew attention to the lifestyle of those who “not only abstain from flesh and wine, but also from other viands. …which flatter taste.” Today, we’ll read excerpts from Saint Augustine of Hippo’s book “The City of God.” “We need a Mediator Who, being united to us here below by the mortality of His body, should at the same time be able to afford us truly Divine help in cleansing and liberating us by means of the immortal righteousness of His Spirit, whereby He remained Heavenly even while here upon earth. Far be it from the in contaminable God to fear pollution from the man He assumed, or from the men among whom He lived in the form of a man. For, though His incarnation showed us nothing else, these two wholesome facts were enough, that true Divinity cannot be polluted by flesh, and that demons are not to be considered better than ourselves because they have not flesh. This, then, as Scripture says, is the ‘Mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus,’ of whose Divinity, whereby He is equal to the Father, and humanity, whereby He has become like us.”
