The Real Ashram Is Inside Us, Aug 15, 2018

Of course it’s nice if we have an ashram, but if not, we can still practice spiritually. The ashram is inside us, and Master is also inside us, so don’t worry if we don’t have any properties. Our homes are also our own ashrans. As long as we have a tranquil mind, a peaceful atmosphere, we can freely meditate by our selfves, it’s good enough regardless whether we have an ashram or not. Both new and old places are very good. Have a happy and progressing spiritual practice.

Things Are Upside Down in Our World, Part 1 of 3, Jan 29, 1991

You see, the dead is stronger than the living. Same with dead Masters, they’re stronger than living Masters. Our life is like that. You see how many dead Master are famous and how many people worship them every day, every year, every time, every minute. You see for yourself, our world is upside down. But when we want to learn something spiritual...when people want to learn something spiritual, they all turn to dead Masters. And when you tell them that they need a living Master and all the dead Masters had done Their job and gone, they say you are a heathen, you are a atheist, and you are such-and-such. And thousands, millions of people would bow to the dead Master or to the tombs of the dead Masters, but never think to go to find a living Master to pay homage to.

The Old Lady Who Sold Poverty, Part 3 of 4, July 9, 1992

If you encourage them to do those small things, to obtain those small blessed rewards, it’s only harming them. No matter how great the merit is, it will be used up someday. Offering the Dharma is the most important, to give people the correct concept, so they can get liberated forever. The material aspects are not that important. “The Old Lady Who Sold Poverty“: One time, the reverend Katyayana went to a country named Avanti. Fried Vegan Fish & Sour Soup

Today we’re going to have some just simple fried vegan fish and sour soup; they’re very simple. Then you can eat it with the steamed vegan fish, or you fry the fish and then later you just pour the sauce on top, and that’d be fine. It’s very simple. Wow, it’s boiled already! Okay now, we have to put this vegetable inside to cook. Also tomatoes… put it in. Then, we put a little juice to make it sweeter. And I have prepared coriander, spring onions, together with the fishwort herbs to put it inside, and 1 lemon. I’m going to put the lemon juice inside to make it sour.

Stir Fried Potatoes & Peppered Vegan Meat with Sweet Potatoes

...potatoes, a little red onions, and some leek. We should let the potato cook first. Then you put in a little salt, a little Mggi, or soy sauce, seasoning. Put a little bit more water, apple juice. Stir it up so that the seasoning penetrates into the food that you are cooking. This is sweet potato. Stir up occasionally, and then after five minutes you can stir in the peppered vegan meat. You can put a little bit of seasoning, Maggi, the thick soya sauce, and stir it well, so that it will penetrate every piece of the vegan meat and the sweet potatoes. I love this kind of simple life that doesn't cost the Earth too much.

Mostly you have to eat this immediately after you toast the bread. You have to eat it immediately because at that time toast is still warm and crunchy. That’s when it tastes the best. First Nations PowWow = Energy, Colour and Spirit!

And that’s how I was taught as a dancer: that when I’m making my own regalia, that I’m praying to the Creator that whatever I’m wearing will strengthen me while I’m dancing, strengthen me for the people I pray for. But most of all, strengthen myself for what my mother brought to me from her side of the family. Part of being a dancer is we really have to become humble. And that’s how we get the connection between Mother Earth and the Heavenly skies. And the only way I can explain it to you is, it’s kind of like an electric vibration…

A Gift of Love: Simple and Nutritious Cooking with Supreme Master Ching Hai Tofu Bags and Sour Soup

I'm preparing two types of food today. The one is that tofu fried and this one is going to be the sour soup to accompany with it because anything fried is a little bit fatty. So we should eat with something like maybe a sour dressing salad or sour soup, depends on the day; if it's a cold day like today, you eat soup instead of salad. This, anybody can cook; even children can cook it, very easy. The main point is not to elaborate too much in my cooking style. So this is for busy people. Just the main point is to have enough nutrition.
