Excerpts from Baba Sawan Singh Ji's Letters, Part 1 of 2

Baba Sawan Singh Ji, also known as “The Great Master”, was an Indian Saint and enlightened Master. Our chief aim should be to unite with our Creator. All saints are Sons of God; their mission is to make others the Sons of God; their method is the Word- sound current. This current connects the individual with its Source. The Word gives out both Light and Sound. There is no power on earth or heaven greater than the power of sound current. Provided this time is given with love and devotion. The will power becomes strong by repetition and concentration, and spiritual force is created, which awakens love and faith within.

Selection from Baba Sawan Singh Scripture: Discourses on Sant Mat (as delivered in Satsang), Chapter 1, Part 2 of 2

The first step that leads us towards our Home is detachment from the world. The transitory carnal enjoyments must be gradually discarded, for so long as they persist, the soul finds it impossible to attach itself to Nam (The Word of God). Spiritual wealth may be accumulated in two ways. First: by toiling hard at meditation; second: by a complete and unconditional surrender to the Master. The first is the easier way. The second method is however, hard to practice, though it is much more efficacious. The mind is a great hurdle in the way; it does not permit you to annihilate your ego.

Meditation is the Source of Love, Part 1 of 3, April 20, 1991

Why do my disciples like Quan Yin Method? It is because they have benefited from it. The more they meditate, the more they feel the difference. They feel they are glowing, - even their outer appearance is changed. When we meditate, if we can focus all our attention on one point and put any problem before it, the problem can be solved immediately. Our power is tremendous; it’s just that we do not use it every day by focusing it on one point, so it seems that we are powerless.

Mahavatar Babaji, the Immortal Yogi of Modern India: Selection from Autobiography of a Yogi, Part 2 of 2

Only one reason, therefore, can motivate Babaji in maintaining His physical from century to century: the desire to furnish humanity with a concrete example of its own possibilities. Were man never vouchsafed a glimpse of Divinity in the flesh, he would remain oppressed by the heavy magic delusion that he cannot transcend his mortality. Thus it came about that a disciple of Lahiri Mahasaya was present when Babaji deemed the time to be ripe for Him to proclaim the possibility of bodily immortality. The great ones speak their words and participate in the seemingly natural course of events, solely for the good of man.

The Peaceful Veg Diet - A Common Thread Amongst All Enlightened Masters, Part 1 of 4

According to Buddhism, sentient beings are subject to rebirth as other sentient beings, thus all living beings are interconnected. Shakyamuni Buddha preached vegetarianism an important and key component in being compassionate. The Buddha states in the Mahayana Mahaparinirvana Sutra, that “the eating of meat extinguishes the seed of great compassion”, adding that all and every kind of meat and fish consumption, even of animals already found dead, is prohibited. “Ananda, if living beings in the six worlds of existence cease to kill they will not be subject to the continual round of births and deaths.”

Buddha Pronounces the Sūtra of Maitreya Bodhisattva's Attainment of Buddhahood, Part 6 of 6

The venerable Śāriputta and the venerable Ānanda rose from their seats, made obeisance to the Buddha, and knelt on their right knees. Joining their palms, they asked the Buddha, “World-Honored One, what is the name of this sūtra? How should we uphold it?” The Buddha told Ānanda, “You should remember it well and expound it separately to all gods and humans. Do not be the person who will finally terminate the Dharma. The tenet of this Dharma is that all sentient beings should end the five rebellious acts, annihilate the hindrances caused by afflictions, karma, and requitals, and cultivate loving kindness, in order to walk with Maitreya Buddha. Accept and uphold it as such. This sūtra is also called All Sentient Beings, by hearing Maitreya Buddha’s name, Definitely Avoiding the World of the Five Turbidities and Not Going Down the Evil Life-Path. Accept and uphold it al such. It is also called The Heart of Loving kindness, No Killing and No Eating Flesh. Accept and uphold it as such.

Selection from Jainisms Holy Akaranga Sutra: Book I Lecture 2: Conquest of the World, Part 1 of 2

One of the oldest religions in the world is Jainism, or traditionally known as Jain Dharma. Originating from ancient India, this philosophy centers around concepts such as right perception, right knowledge and right conduct in the attainment of moksha, or realization of the soul’s true nature. The concept of ahimsa, or non-violence, is of equally great importance. Thus, with compassion for all life, practitioners of Jainism follow a pure vegetarian or vegan diet. Jains follow the ancient wisdom of the 24 Tirthankaras, or prophets, whose teachings comprise the Agam sutras, the religion’s holy scriptures.

From Supreme Master Ching Hai's Book “Secrets to Effortless Spiritual Practice,” Part 2 of 2

Love your family, truly love them, and they will love you, too. Then, due to this love, we will feel very lively and happy. It will be easy for us to accept people from outside, and to love others. Try it when you return home. This is the path to being happy. We love others because we want to be comfortable and happy. The more we offer our love to others, the more others will love us. When all the people love each other, how comfortable that will be!

To Realize God We Have to Go Beyond Religion, Part 2 of 3, April 16, 1994

Listen between Supreme Master Ching Hai and three former Korean leaders entitled. “How the government teaches people to become strong, not only physically but spiritually. How the government as an example of the whole nation leads in spiritual awareness, then the whole nation will elevate, and then nothing can happen to such an elevated country. You know what I mean? Even if there is a tension or a tendency to be, it will change. So every religion asks us to believe and to be good, to be virtuous.”

Excerpts from Baba Sawan Singh Ji's Letters, Part 2 of 2

Spiritual progress primarily depends on the training of the mind. The withdrawal of the s It (Sant Mat) is a liberal system and does not stifle opinion or insist on blind belief. Masters in the flesh are rare. They are superior beings and have fully developed their latent powers. A Guru gives salvation only when alive. The sound current and the Master are within you. Animal food, even if a single particle is eaten, is detrimental to spiritual progress. The master showered his grace when he initiated you. Now your duty is to practice concentration and go up. Then love will come automatically.cattered attention into the eye center requires patience, perseverance, and faith.

The Best Way to Learn is through Experience, Part 3 of 3, May 9, 1993

We present to you the following discussion between Supreme Master Ching Hai and General Jun Kwan in Seoul, Korea. “It’s good for the government, for the military to have a good commander; otherwise it’s just killing and it’s nonsense. Without moral, basic, any organization is no good, and in the army we need morality more, more enlightenment. I am also glad he has the temple here for the soldiers... and a monk, for them. There’s a spiritual reliance for the soldiers; they’re more balanced. It’s very good. If they have some kind of spiritual head or monks, talk to them, they will understand their duty.”

In Silence We Know God: Questions and Answers, Part 1 of 4 May 5,1999

I am not a prophet. I’m going to show you to be a prophet, not that I’m your prophet. I’m going to show you to be a master and a prophet yourself. I am coming here to tell you that you’re the prophet, that you are the children of God. And you can prove it to yourself if you want to try our method. I am telling you that you are great, and I can prove it to you if you want to try. Yes, that’s what I am going to show you how. That’s the silent Sound(=Heavenly Sound), the teaching of God. That’s the “Word” in the Bible. That’s why we call this Method “Immediate Enlightenment.”

The Loving Heart of Jainism – Ancient Wisdom Guiding Modern Lives, Part 1 of 2

00:13:06

The Loving Heart of Jainism – Ancient Wisdom Guiding Modern Lives, Part 1 of 2

Jainism seeks to attain enlightenment and liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth. Jain practitioners strive to achieve this by following the five ethical principles, which govern thought, speech, and action. In accordance to their beliefs of ahimsa and compassion, all devotees follow a strict vegetarian diet. The “three jewels” or “triple gems” of Jainism-right vision, right knowledge, and right conduct-give the Jain practitioners a path to liberation to return to the state where the soul has shed its karmic bonds completely and achieved to ultimate goal of divine consciousness.

Finding Enlightenment through the Ancient Vedic Scriptures: An Interview with Bayarsaikhan Bavuu, Part 1 of 3

Today, we share with you the wisdom of Vedic Scriptures and insightful thoughts from Bayarsaikhan Bavuu. “This is the ‘Bhagavad Gita as it is.’ In this sutra, it explains this physical world we are living in and also talks about what is beyond this world. It is about how God and the Heavenly world exists. It’s about living beings, which we call living things. It’s about any living thing that reproduces. Also, there exists what is called eternity. Then there is a very deep explanation about the 5 core principles of karma. It is a Sutra, which explains the Truth.”

We present to you the following discussion between Supreme Master Ching Hai and General Jun Kwan in Seoul, Korea. “Because humans are not only the body and not only physical actions, but the spirit. And in Korea, we have the sigh like this. And one is black, the other one is white. This represents negative or physical, the physical. This one is Heaven, positive and spirit. If we only develop here, we have half empty, not yet, and we’re unhappy, like hungry.” “So, if you’re already in the army, you stay in the army; just develop this spot."

Buddha Pronounces the Sūtra of Maitreya Bodhisattva's Attainment of Buddhahood, Part 5 of 6

In this way Maitreya Buddha will guide and comfort innumerable sentient beings, making them happy. They will be imbued with the Dharma. Their hearts will be full of the Dharma, and their mouths will always pronounce the Dharma. The population will be composed of those who have merit and wisdom. Even gods will respect, trust and admire them. “ At that time the great guiding teacher Maitreya Buddha will want them to hear about their suffering in the past. He will think: ‘The five impure desires are the roots of suffering, but the knowledge that pain and pleasure are both impermanent can remove their anxieties and sorrows.’ He will then pronounce to them the five aggregates-form, sensory reception, perception, mental processing, and consciousness- as well as suffering, emptiness, impermanence, and no self. As He speaks these words, 96 koti people will no longer embrace the Dharmas [perceived by the senses]. With no more afflictions to discharge, having liberated their minds, they will attain Arhatship, complete with the Three Clarities, the Six Transcendental Powers, and the Eight liberations.”

The Six Paths to Perfection, Part 1 of 4, March 1, 1991

In the Diamond Sutra, the Buddha said that there are Six Perfection: Giving, Keeping the precepts, Tolerance, Diligence, Meditation, then Wisdom. What is giving? Giving money, giving effort, giving mental support, and giving spirituality. The Buddha said that giving spirituality is the best giving. In the Medicine Buddha Sutra, it said: When the Medicine Buddha still practiced the Bodhisattva way, He gave whatever anyone asked of Him, every material thing. After they ate and felt satisfied and healthy, He would teach them the Supreme Method so that they could escape from the circle of birth and death.

Mahavatar Babaji, the Immortal Yogi of Modern India: Selection from Autobiography of a Yogi, Part 1 of 2

Mahavatar Babaji is known as the deathless Master of India. He is also known as the Great Avatar. Babaji told Lahiri Mahasaya that the Kriya Yoga which He is giving to the world through Him in the nineteenth century, is a revival of the same science which Krishma gave, millenniums ago, to Arjuna. Babaji has resided for at least hundreds of years in the remote Himalayan regions of India, seen in person by only a small number of disciples and other sincere seekers. Babaji’s mission in India has been to assist prophets in carrying out their special dispensations. “Babaji can be seen or recognized by others only when he so desires.
