From the Holy Qur'an: Chapter 6, Part 3 of 3

If you obey the majority of people on Earth, they will divert you from the path of God. They follow only conjecture; they only guess. Your Lord is fully aware of those who stray off His path, and He is fully aware of those who are guided. You shall avoid obvious sins, as well as the hidden ones. Those who have earned sins will surely pay for their transgressions.

From the Holy Qur'an: Chapter 6, Part 2 of 3

Had any of them fallen into idolatry, their works would have been nullified. Those were the ones to whom we have given the scripture, wisdom, and prophethood. If these people disbelieve, we will substitute others in their place, and the new people will not be disbelievers. These are the ones guided by God; you shall be guided in their footsteps. Say,” I do not ask you for any wage. This is but a message for all the people.

And the higher we step into the higher mansions of God, the more elevated we feel, the more wisdom will be reawakened within ourselves, the more power we will have. The more love will stream forth from God through our beings to bless the world, and bless everyone, every being that comes in contact with us, or anyone that is in our vicinity.

From Zoroastrianism's Sacred Menog-i Khrad: Chapters 1-3, Part 2 of 2

Thou shouldst not become presumptuous through any happiness of the world; for the happiness of the world is like such-like as a cloud that comes on a rainy day, which one does not ward off by any hill. Thou shouldst not be too much arranging the world; for the world-arranging man becomes spirit-destroying. Thou shouldst not become presumptuous through much treasure and wealth; for in the end it is necessary for thee to leave all. Thou shouldst not become presumptuous through predominance; for in the end it is necessary for thee to become non-predominant. Thou shouldst not become presumptuous through respect and reverence; for respectfulness does not assist in the soiritual existence. Thou shouldst not become presumptuous through great connections and race; for in the end thy trust is on thine own deeds. Thou shouldst not become presumptuous through life; for death comes upon thee at last.

From Sikhism's Holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib: The Great Fortune of Meeting a Fully Enlightened Master, Part 2 of 2

In the minds of those who meditate on the True Word (which can only be received through a Master) is joy, bliss; and they remain imbued with the Lord’s Love. Only if one meets an Enlightened Master (True Guru), one will not have to go through the cycle of reincarnation again; the suffering of birth and death will be taken away. Through the (Master’s) Perfect word (Shabad), all understanding is obtained. Remembering the Enlightened Master, one remains absorbed in Naam, the Name of the Lord. Taking refuge in a Master, the Immaculate Naam itself, over-fresh, and the Lord comes to abide within the mind.

From Sikhism's Holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib: The Great Fortune of Meeting a Fully Enlightened Master, Part 1 of 2

If a hundred moons were to rise, and a thousand suns appeared (in the sky), even with such light, there would still be pitch darkness (ignorance in the mind) without an Enlightened Master. All other rituals, deeds are just worldly affairs (a show); meeting and seeking refuge in the Holy saint-guru (Enlightened Master), one is saved (liberated). One may contemplate on the Simritees, Shaastras and Vedas (holy scriptures), but it is only by meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord (obtained from an enlightened Master), one is saved and carried across (by His Grace).

From the Sacred Text of the Universal White Brotherhood: The Mindful Heart, Read by Devoted Maria Maystorova, Part 2 of 2

How is one’s dignity manifested? – The dignity of someone is manifested in the fulfillment of the Will of God, in the use of the smallest of one’s virtues. You might have won the biggest battles, you might have risen an entire people, but if one day your heart tells you to tie the shoe of an old person and you do not obey, all that has been done before will be of no use. To tie the shoe of an old person brings a greater reward than to win a battle. If we consider what our present objective mind can do from the time of our childhood to the time when we pass away and weigh it, the total will not weigh as much as one of the smallest acts performed by the mindful heart.

From the Sacred Text of the Universal White Brotherhood: The Mindful Heart, Read by Devoted Maria Maystorova, Part 1 of 2

The Universal White Brotherhood was founded by Peter Konstantinov Deunov of Bulgaria, in 1900. He called listening to the inner voice “the mindful heart”. Misery in our life is due to the fact that we do not listen to the good incitements and good habits that are lodged inside our hearts. Each time you fail to respond to a good thought, it degrades you and takes you a step down, thus making your life harder. When you refuse to respond to any kind of good thought, you downgrade yourself, your condition becomes harder and harder until you will be paralyzed. These conditions have arisen, because you have not listened to your mindful heart.

The Key to Theosophy: Theosophical Teachings as to Nature and Man, Part 2 of 2

The Key to Theosophy: Theosophical Teachings as to Nature and Man, Part 2 of 2

Theosophical doctrine shows man a quintile just after death, in Kamaloka; and a threefold Ego, Spirit-Soul, and consciousness in Devachan. This separation, first in “the Meadows of Hades,” then in Devachan, was part and parcel of the performances during the sacred Mysteries, when the candidates for initiation enacted for the whole drama of death, and the resurrection as a glorified spirit. What is Devachan? The “land of gods” literally; a condition, a state of mental bliss. Philosophically a mental condition analogous to, but far more vivid and real than, the most vivid dream. It is the state after death of most mortals.

Mr. Spirit Wolf: “I think being vegan helps all people in society become holistic. All type of thinking people, when they start becoming holistic, a lot of changes start happening in our society for the good. The thoughts of people start to change for the better. Society will start structuring itself. Humans and animals, they have to come together and unite as one, like we did in the beginning. When we started eating on the animals, we started losing our higher nature.”

Now there are three ways in which one may please one’s Guru: first, the disciple should employ his faith and intelligence to gratify his Guru; then, through unmistakable learning and contemplation, he should enter the gate of Mahayana and Vajrayana, and practice them diligently with great determination; then finally, he can please his Guru with his real experiences of Enlightenment, which are produced step by step through his devotion. I do not like the disciple who talks much; the actual practice is far more important. Until the full Realization of Truth is gained, he should shut his mouth and work at his meditation.

The teachings of Tibetan Buddhism put a focus on the awareness of death and the ephemeral nature of life, leading to diligence in meditation and spiritual practice. Mandalas, prayer flags, and thangka paintings are visual imagery used as reminders for practitioners on the path. Milarepa was a great master of this religion , and he was the most famous figure of Tibet’s history. In this program, we present an excerpt from The Hundred Thousand Songs of Milarepa. Milarepa: Don’t become attached to pleasure, fame, and the world, but should devote himself to the practice of the Dharma all his life and urge others to do likewise.
