From the Holy Bible: The Book of Job – Chapters 7-12, and Excerpt from Chapter 2, Part 1 of 2

The Book of Job is the first poetic book in the Old Testament of the Christian Holy Bible. One of its main themes is God’s justice and why the righteous at times appear to be punished. Job was a wealthy and pious man who always avoided evil. One day, Satan asked God if he could test Job’s goodness, arguing that Job was good only because God blessed him abundantly. In the following excerpts, Job suffers greatly; his faith is tested. But in the end, he resolves to continue pursuing wisdom by fearing God and choosing righteousness.

The Benefit of Spiritual Practice, Part 5 of 5 #159K, April 07, 1991

What is God? God is the Truth, the Omnipotence of the universe, the infinitely miraculous Wisdom, the boundless and immeasurable Love. The human realm is the easiest one for a human being to become a Buddha. During initiation, at the first second, you will understand why only human beings can practice to become Buddha. “Immediate Enlightenment.” And you will understand what you never understood before. Why then does our world keep having more and more people? They were from other worlds, from hell, from plants, from stones, from animals; they became human beings. Or from other planets, who had merits, so they could come here to be human beings.

The Benefit of Spiritual Practice, Part 3 of 5 #159K, April 07, 1991

We imitate the Buddha’s wisdom in the invisible world when we are near that invisible wisdom which emanates from a person who has attained enlightenment. For that reason, even though Shakyamuni Buddha was a prince, even though He had the supreme authority in that country, even though His prestige had spreaded to all directions, He still begged for alms, using that as a means to enlighten the poor, the suffering, those who had little merit and affinity, those who could not believe the Dharma right away when they heard it, those who could not go to the Buddha to learn the Tao. So the Buddha had to go there, using the invisible, boundless power of the Buddha to influence the invisible wisdom, the Buddha Nature of the opposite person.

Selection from Zoroastrianism's Sacred Menog-i Khrad: Chapters 31- 40, Part 2 of 2

We continue to present to you the ancient wisdom in the Zoroastrian scriptures. “Wherefore is it when they do not allot the happiness of the worldly existence according to worthiness, and they make the soul a seizer upon the spiritual existences by worthiness of action? What is that which no one is able to deprive one of? What is that thing which it is not possible to buy at a price? And as to that which is asked by thee ’concerning the spiritual and worldly existences, the worldly existence is, in the end, death and, disappearance, and of the spiritual existence, in the end, that of a soul of the righteous is undecaying, immortal, and undisturbed, full of glory and full of enjoyment, forever and everlasting…”

It's Not Too Late to Get Enlightenment, Questions and Answers, Part 4 of 5 Nov 26, 1994, Thailand

Because the real transmission doesn’t need language - and then you will be awakened. Your spiritual wisdom opens and you might see the (inner Heavenly) Light and hear the Self-Nature. Like the Buddha said, “Listen inward, listen to your Self-Nature.” Or, like in the Bible, it says, “the Word of God.” These Lights from Heaven or from Buddha’s Land and the melodious teaching from Heaven or from Buddha’s Land, it is our own Self-Nature, and that will make us wiser and freer each day. And then, more and more we will rely on our Self-Nature and our Self Master inside, and the outside Master is only standing by and helping.

From the Holy Buddhist Tripitaka: Itivuttaka – The Group of Ones and Fours, Part 2 of 2

This was said by the Lord...”living with Brahma are those families where, within the home, mother and father are respected by their children. Living with the early Devas are those families where, within the home, mother and father are respected by their children. Living with the early teachers are those families where, within the home, mother and father are respected by their children. Living with those worthy of adoration are those families where, within the home, mother and father are respected by their children. 'Brahma,' Bhikkhus, is a term for mother and father. 'Early devas' and 'early teachers' and 'those worthy of veneration' are terms for mother and father. For what reason? Because mother and father are very helpful to their children, they take care of them and bring them up and teach them about the world."

Selection from Ralph Waldo Emerson's Book “Nature”: Essays “Discipline” and “Spirit,” Part 2 of 2

Each creature is only a modification of the other; the likeness in them is more than the difference, and their radical law is one and the same. So intimate is this Unity, that, it is easily seen. For, it pervades Thought also. The eye, - the mind, and these are incomparably the richest informations of the power and order that lie at the heart of things. That spirit creates; one and not compound, it does not act upon us from without, that is, in space and time, but spiritually, or through ourselves: therefore, that spirit, that is, the Supreme Being.

Selection from the Book of Lieh Tzu: Chapter 1 - Heaven's Gift, Part 2 of 2

In infancy his energies are concentrated and his inclinations at one- the ultimate of harmony. Other things do not harm him, nothing can add to the virtue in him. “Dying is the virtue in us going to its destination.” The traveler who forgets to go back is a man who mistakes his home. If one man mistakes his home, the whole world disapproves; but when everyone under the sky mistakes his home, no one is wise enough to disapprove. Only the sage knows whom to side with, whom to reject.

Selection from Yoga Sutras of Patanjali: Book III & IV, Part 2 of 2

“The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali”is one of the foundations of Hinduism’s classical Yoga philosophy, expressed in aphorisms, which reveals Patanjali’s exceptional knowledge of existing spiritual traditions and the best practical exercises and approaches to spiritual practice, wishing to attain inner peace, self-mastery, and spiritual freedom. “From that comes glorified mind, power of the organs independently of the body, and conquest of nature. The Siddhis (powers) are attained by birth, herbs, power of words, mortification or concentration. The change into another species is by the filling in of nature. Good deeds, etc., are not the direct causes in the transformation of nature.”

Zoroaster was a prophet who lived in ancient Iran around 1800 BC. The teachings that emerged from His visions of God have become known as Zoroastrianism. Zoroastrian theology’s main tenets include the existence of one God and the personal happiness or reward that is the natural outcome of using one’s free will to formulate good thoughts, good words and good deeds. Respecting all life, Zoroaster was Himself a pure vegetarian and forbade all animal sacrifice. His universal philosophy is believed to have influenced Greek thought and major revealed religions of the world.

Only one who has faith comes to know such a state of mind. Such is the Name of the lmmaculate Lord. The state of the faithful cannot be described. One who tries to describe this shall regret the attempt. No paper, no pen, no scribe can record the state of the faithful. The faithful have intuitive awareness and intelligence. The faithful know about all worlds and realms. The faithful shall never be struck across the face. The faithful do not have to go with the Messenger of Death. The path of the faithful shall never be blocked. The faithful shall depart with honor and fame.

It's Not Too Late to Get Enlightenment, Part 2 of 5 Nov 26, 1994, Thailand

Spiritual practice concerns the mind, not the body. After the mind is controlled, the body is controlled. That’s why we do not emphasize to people that they have to practice the position first, but we emphasize that we will give you the extra controlling power, so that at the beginning of your practice you can immediately calm your mind and have an immediate result of enlightenment. We help you to unlock your controlling power from the highest source of the Buddha Nature, or what we call the Kingdom of God in different religions. The secret is we know the way. If we don’t know the secret, it doesn’t matter how hard we try, how sincere we are, we will not have results, as we wanted.

The Only Criminal is Ignorance: Questions and Answers, Part 3 of 3 May 28, 1999, Prague, Czech Republic

The purpose of life is to know God. Ignorance is the only thing to be blamed for all these bad things that happen to us. Ignorance, not knowing God, that’s the only criminal in this world and any other world. Because if we are enlightened, if we know God, we will be so happy, so blissful that we could never do anything wrong, or very less likely to do things wrong because we are enlightened, we are wise, we know what’s right and what’s wrong. So the best thing I can offer you is enlightenment, more than gold, more than diamonds, more than anything that is so-called best in this world.

The Baha'i Faith's ”Gems of Divine Mysteries”: Paragraphs 25-33

The Baha'i Faith's ”Gems of Divine Mysteries”: Paragraphs 25-33

The essence of the divine mysteries in the journeys of ascent set forth for those who long to draw nigh unto God, the Almighty, the Ever-Forgiving – blessed be the righteous that drink from these crystal streams! HE IS THE EXALTED, THE MOST HIGH! Veiled as they remain within their own selves, the generality of the people have failed to perceive the sweet accents of holiness, inhale the fragrance of mercy, or seek guidance, as bidden by God, from those who are the custodians of the Scriptures. He proclaims, and His word, verily, is the truth: “Ask ye, therefore, of them that have custody of the Scriptures, if ye know it not.” Nay rather, they have turned aside from them and followed instead the Sámirí of their own idle fancies.

The Only Criminal is Ignorance, Part 2 of 3 May 28, 1999, Prague, Czech Republic

We must love our neighbor, we must even love our enemy; but, it is difficult for us because we do not realize how great the neighbor is, how great the enemy also is, because we do not realize how great we are ourselves. God cannot give peace on Earth if we do not make peace ourselves. Because we have the power. We are the representatives of God here. We must do things that we should do in this level because we exist here. But to see Heaven, to see the celestial world, to see the invisible side of God, we must use heavenly ears, we must use heavenly eye.

From the Book of Enoch: The Book of Parables – Selection from the Second Parable, Part 1 of 2

The book of Enoch is an ancient Jewish apocalyptic religious text, which describes the intensity Of the Antediluvian (pre-Flood) time period. “This is the Son of Man who has righteousness and with whom righteousness dwells. He will reveal all the treasures of that which is secret.” And in that place I saw an inexhaustible spring of righteousness and many springs of wisdom surrounded it, and all the thirsty drank from them and were filled with wisdom, and their dwelling was with the Righteous and the Holy and the Chosen. For in His Name they are saved and He is the one who will require their lives.

Selection from the Zohar – Kabbalistic Philosophy on the Sound, the Soul, and the Mystery of the Logos, Part 1 of 2

Kabbalah is the ancient mystical school of thought of Judaism. Kabbalah aims to explain the relationship between God - the unchanging and eternal Ein Sof (The Infinite), and God’s creation – the mortal and finite universe. In order that the Sanctuary of God might exist upon Earth, it needed manifestation by means of a Word or Logos. In the ages to come, [the science of words and sounds] will be recovered, and Heaven and earth, men and angels joined in unity and living in harmony, nations, kindreds and tribes of man now will again be one people and have all one language, and the knowledge of the Lord shall cover the earth as the waters cover the seas.

“The Three Questions” - An Inspirational Short Story by Leo Tolstoy, Part 2 of 2

The king was happy to be so easily reconciled with his enemy, and he not only forgave him but promised to return his property and send his own physician and servants to attend him. “Remember then: there is only one important time – now. And it is important because it is the only time we have dominion over ourselves; and the most important man is he with whom you are, for no one can know whether or not he will ever have dealings with any other man; and the most important pursuit is to do good to him, since it is for that purpose alone that man was sent into this life.”
