Charming Angels from a Winter Wonderland - Wondrous New Year Vegan Dinner
Charming Angels from a Winter Wonderland - Wondrous New Year Vegan Dinner
And on this New Year’s Eve, we are bringing to you a cooking show by two young children from Ottawa, whom have been vegans since birth. “We will cook vegan pizza and vegan mini cheesecakes.” “Here are all the ingredients that you would need to make the vegan pizza. We have made sure that all the ingredients are vegan. You will need: vegan pizza crust, vegan tomato sauce and vegetables of your choice. For the proteins, we are using vegan pepperoni, but you can also use vegan sausages. And for the best of all, the vegan cheese! The vegetables we are using: zucchini, broccoli, pineapple, mushrooms, tomatoes and olives.”“Our first step is to chop the veggies. After spreading your sauce onto the pizza crust, you can start to put the vegetables onto the crust. And lastly, to finish off the pizza, we will put vegan cheese over it. Once you’ve finished, you can bring your pizza to the oven.”“Now that the pizza is done, let's continue with our mini vegan cheesecake. For the crust, we’re using vegan cookies, and you can use any brand that is vegan. And you also need vegan butter. Now, after you had crushed your vegan cookies with your hands, you can start putting them into the blender to make it even more fine. After pulsing the cookies (vegan), we’re going to put them into a bowl. We are going to add 6 tablespoons of vegan butter Make sure they’re equal. Once the mixture is done, we’re going to put 1 tablespoon into each pie crust, and press it down. After pressing down the crust, we’re going to put them into the oven.”“While that’s baking, we can start on the vegan cream. These are the ingredients to make the cream (vegan). You will need: 1 and a half cup of cashews, a full pack of vegan cream cheese, ¼ cup of maple syrup and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Put all the cashews into the blender and pulse it. Now, move it over and put everything in. Put back the lid, and pulse it. After pulsing a couple of times, it will become the actual cream.”“After baking the pie crust, we’re now going to add three tablespoons of vegan cream. Now that all of our cupcakes are done, we can put them into the freezer for about 20 minutes. After we have taken out the mini cheesecakes from the freezer, take out the wrapper, and this is the final result. Now we’re going to put some vegan whip cream and some sprinkles for the decorations.”
