Towel Exercise: Portable Gym for Fitness

Towel Exercise: Portable Gym for Fitness

A towel can be used for isometric exercises. “ISO” literally means “equal” while “metric” is a measurement. Such routines involve keeping a static position with a contraction of a muscle or muscle group, but the muscles remain at a fixed length. Simply put, the amount of force you use to pull a towel may change, but the angle of your joints does not vary. Isometric exercises are beneficial because they are more gentle on the joints in comparison to weight-bearing exercises, like weightlifting. They are often incorporated into rehabilitation exercise routines, which can help people recovering from procedures like hip surgery, to improve strength without adding too much stress on the affected joint.

Dr. Shireen Kassam: The Nutritionally Complete Whole Foods Vegan Diet, Part 2 of 2

The diet I am advocating is a whole food plant-based diet that is centered around whole fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes and that is the diet that has been shown to be associated with the lowest rates of cancer, heart disease, (and) diabetes. Those diseases are the most common in our Western societies, and the commonest cause of death is now cardiovascular disease followed by cancer. So really, we have the chance to impact our health very positively by adopting a healthful diet.

Keeping Teeth Strong And Healthy For Life, Part 1 of 2

Keeping Teeth Strong And Healthy For Life, Part 1 of 2

In recent years, more and more people have started using sugar substitutes like xylitol and stevioside. These sweeteners not only enhance the flavor of your food, but they can also inhibit growth of harmful bacteria and help prevent tooth decay. Also, research conducted in japan found that fiber intake from vegetables and mushrooms can help maintain oral health. Since dietary fiber stimulates the secretion of saliva, and saliva neutralizes the acidity of the mouth and inhibits bacterial growth, a plant-bases diet is an excellent defense against tooth decay.

Explore the Magic of Enzymes with Dr. Gabriela Azofeifa, Part 2 of 2

Predigested Foods consuming predigested foods, including fruits and germinated food like sprouts, is an excellent way to obtain enzymes. Predigested food is food that has been digested outside the body before we eat it. In other words, the proteins, fats, and starches contained in the food have already been processed, thus lessening the energy and resources the body normally expends on absorbing food. Raw Vegan Diet Following a raw vegan diet, a lifestyle that involves consuming raw fruits, vegetables, seaweeds, herbs, sprouted nuts, seeds, and grains, is another terrific way to boost enzyme levels.

Dr. Shireen Kassam: The Nutritionally Complete Whole Foods Vegan Diet, Part 1 of 2

People who are vegans consume only plant-based foods, and avoid eating anything from an animal, including dairy, honey, eggs, and gelatin. You may wonder why a growing number of individuals are choosing this benevolent and healthful diet. Some people become vegan after they learn about factory farms, like dairy operations where cows are harshly exploited to get the maximum output of milk. Finding this unbearably cruel, they look for alternatives. Others choose a plant-based diet for health reasons. Multiple studies have demonstrated consuming meat increases the risk of major health problems over time.

Dr. József Tamasi - The Plant-Based Diet Is the Best Medicine, Part 2 of 2

About 5,6years ago, I began to use the vegan diet with my patients. Even also with a gluten-free vegan diet, I saw I had significantly better results. Then, I tried it as well, because it is not credible, if someone does not walk the talk. I tried it, and I found that my fitness became significantly better. I’ve never been sick, but this was a great intuition, my own test, that the vegan and gluten-free diet really make the job of the body substantially easier in terms of regeneration and fitness. So for 5,6 years I’ve been vegan too, I have not eaten any animal products and I do not eat gluten either.

B12, the Vitamin that All Vegans Need to Know

There is no harm in exceeding the recommended amounts or using more than one option. What happens if you do not get enough vitamin B12? A mild deficiency may cause no symptoms at first. If untreated, the typical deficiency symptoms in adults include loss of energy, tingling, numbness, reduced sensitivity to pain or pressure, blurred vision, abnormal gait, sore tongue, and mental problems like depression, memory loss, and personality changes. Signs of a B12 deficiency may take months or years to emerge, and they are usually reversible on the administration of B12. If you suspect you have a deficiency, you should get a diagnosis from a medical practitioner, because each of the named symptoms can also be caused by problems other than a B12 deficiency.

Oriental medicine mainly uses medications made from plants to restore balance between the elements of the body. From that balance and harmony, the patient will recover their health. Plant-based ingredients are much better than animal-based ingredients because plant-based ingredients carry “love” with them. Explore the Magic of Enzymes with Dr. Gabriela Azofeifa, Part 1 of 2

00:15:54

Explore the Magic of Enzymes with Dr. Gabriela Azofeifa, Part 1 of 2

Enzyme Activation How can we activate the enzymes in the body and keep healthy? First, we should avoid lifestyles that lessen the enzyme supply and follow good habits, such as drinking pure water, doing a moderate amount of exercise, reducing stress through meditation, quitting smoking and abstaining from alcohol. Another important point is that we should effectively supply the required enzymes from food through a healthful plant-based diet. Because for most people nearly all food consumed has been cooked, the digestive system must secrete higher amounts of digestive enzymes to aid the processing of food. To provide these digestive enzymes, the body must constantly divert the required enzymes from other organs and tissues, and thus the diversion may cause metabolic enzyme deficiencies. So the possible lack of enzymes in one’s diet may be the main cause of the reduction in the number of enzymes in our body.
