Asian Development Bank (ADB) assists developing member countries in coping with COVID-19.
ADB’s Asia Pacific Disaster Response Fund (APDRF) has announced grants of US$2 million, US$680,000, and US$500,000 to Fiji, Nauru, and Niue, respectively to support each nation’s anti-COVID-19 measures. The Japanese government, a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Animal Protection and Generosity laureate, provided the funds to the APDRF. From the start of 2020 to date, the ADB has given approximately US$260 million in coronavirus-related assistance to ADB's Pacific developing member nations. Our heartfelt gratitude, Asian Development Bank and Japan, for helping our Pacific Island brothers and sisters in this most challenging time. May Heaven bless humanity to swiftly change to the virtuous vegan lifestyle to avoid zoonotic pandemics and forever thrive in every corner of the world.
United States agency’s study finds coronavirus patients have higher in-hospital mortality risk versus flu cases.
After reviewing 3,948 COVID-19 and 5,453 seasonal flu patient hospital records, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention determined that people hospitalized for the coronavirus were 5 times more likely to succumb to the disease there than those admitted for influenza. The COVID-19 cases also had a higher chance of developing one of 17 complications, including pneumonia, blood clots, and respiratory failure. Furthermore, this group was almost 19 times more likely to have acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) than the flu patients. The United States is a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion laureate. Our appreciation, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, for highlighting how much more potentially life-threatening COVID-19 is compared to the seasonal flu. May we take the necessary precautions to ensure the safety and health of ourselves and our co-citizens, in God’s mercy.
Up next, pioneering hydrogen-powered plane takes flight in UK. We’ll spend some time now to thank the validation engineers who test the systems used to manufacture products to ensure the items produced meet performance, quality, and industry-specific safety standards. When we return, more thoughtful news ahead, here on Supreme Master Television!
Hallo adventurous viewers, I am Genevieve the vegan Green Sea Turtle, and you smell so clean and health-full just like me. You must be a vegan, I am right, love you much for that... Today we have a baby care tip from our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai: “If you help Mum to feed the baby, please use a soft, damp cloth to gently wipe the spilled food on its face. It’s easier and faster, so you don’t have to keep rubbing hard on its tender skin. Baby sure loves and thanks you for the extra TLC (tender loving care). God loves you kids!” Thank You, Supreme Master Ching Hai, for this caring and considerate tip. We love You! Thank you all for your attention and love you a lot for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all of us humans and all co-inhabitants alike. Now, the worldwide weather.
Hydrogen-electric passenger plane makes history.
British-American start-up ZeroAvia, Inc. recently conducted the world’s first hydrogen fuel-cell-powered flight of a commercial-grade aircraft at its research and development facility in Cranfield, England, UK. The Piper M-class six-seater plane taxied, took off, completed a full pattern circuit, and landed as part of the HyFlyer project, an endeavor to decarbonize air travel partially financed by the United Kingdom government. Next, ZeroAvia will carry out an over 400-kilometer zero-emissions test flight; this corresponds to the flight distance of many major commercial air routes, such as between London and Edinburgh. In addition, ZeroAvia and partners have developed a prototype for a hydrogen airport ecosystem at Cranfield Airport encompassing green hydrogen production, storage, and refueling trucks. Congratulations, ZeroAvia and all participants on this spectacular achievement. May such ventures rapidly advance us towards clean air travel that protects our precious planet, in Celestial splendor.
Tech project committed to boosting sustainable food production.
United States-headquartered Alphabet, Google’s parent company, has unveiled a prototype solar-powered robot that roams fields in teams recording vast amounts of data such as plant height, fruit size, and even the number of beans on individual soy plants. Project Mineral is an effort led by Dr. Elliott Grant with Alphabet’s X lab and focuses on eco-friendly, large-scale food production with a vision to feed Earth’s expanding population as the climate changes. The high-tech approach brings together artificial intelligence, simulation, sensors and robotics, and combines it with weather and soil data to predict how plants will grow. The “buggy robots” are not yet commercially available but have already been tested with many crops, including oats, soy, and strawberries. Bravo, Project Mineral, Dr. Grant and colleagues! We laud the powerful tool you are developing to help sustainably grow plentiful food, in God’s love.
Dubai public bus driver honored for returning large cash amount discovered onboard vehicle.
Noor Khan, a Pakistani driver working in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, found a bag containing approximately US$68,000 when he checked his bus at the shift’s end. He immediately took the money to his supervisor, who found the rightful owner and returned it. On being praised for his deed by His Excellency Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, the director general of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority, Mr. Khan stated, “This is a source of pride not only for me but also for all employees in public buses. It is an incentive for all of us to redouble our efforts and exhibit more dedication and loyalty in doing our jobs and bring happiness to bus riders.” We gratefully applaud your meritorious action, Mr. Noor Khan. May many people be inspired by your exemplary honesty and noble sense of duty, in Allah’s grace.
Coming up, vegetarian school lunch option offered in Korean city school system. We are going to pause for a moment to remember God’s all-embracing love. You’re watching Noteworthy News on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News - Giving News for a Selfless World.
Southeastern Korean city schools offer vegetarian meals.
The Ulsan City Office of Education is promoting vegetarianism in response to climate change and to improve student health. Currently, 92% of its 248 schools offer daily vegetarian meals to students who request it, and 94% have “Meat-free Monday” lunches every two weeks. The meals use protein-rich legumes instead of meat. School cooks, nutrition teachers, and dieticians have received specialized training on vegetarianism and climate change. The schools have also carried out a wide range of initiatives to promote veg education and connect students with the environment, including setting up veg cooking festivals and school gardens. Our thanks, Ulsan City Office of Education, for emphasizing the importance of a plant-based diet to better child wellness and overcome the climate crisis. May all educational institutions soon encourage veganism among students, families, and teachers, in Heaven’s upliftment.
Study reveals cows prefer direct spoken interaction over recorded voice.
In a study led by Annika Lange, a PhD student at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, Austria, scientists gently stroked two sets of bovines. A researcher soothingly spoke to each member of the first group during the stroking while the other group’s members instead experienced a similar voice that was played over a speaker. By observing body language like ear position, it was determined that both sets of bovines were relaxed and happy, but the cows of the first group showed lower heart rates, which implies a more positive experience with greater relaxation. The research was published in the peer-reviewed journal Frontiers in Psychology. We salute your fascinating findings, Annika Lange and co-researchers, regarding our cow co-inhabitants’ deep intelligence and sensitivity. May your study further enlighten humanity on the profound sentience and loving nature of animals.
Now, get ready for a good laugh with a joke of the day entitled “Third Wish.”
A genie and a man were talking about the latter’s three wishes.
OK, I'm ready for your third wish.
Third? What about the first two?
Well, this is a little unusual, but after your first wish, you screamed and said, "I wish I'd never made that wish!" So that counted as your second wish, and I erased your memory of both wishes.
OK then. I wish I really understood how women think.
Granted. By the way, that was your first wish, too.
