Guvernele ar trebui să susţină moralitatea şi demnitatea, partea 1 din 3

“We are having shortages of food at present due to the climate, COVID and tons of other reasons. So let them contribute, not burden their countrymen and make bad examples for others, especially for the youth!” Host: During a work-related phone call with a Supreme Master Television team member on July 27, 2021, Supreme Master Ching Hai graciously took time to answer some questions regarding a few current events. As it was spontaneous, we didn’t record the conversation properly. Thus, it is not suitable for airing. We sincerely apologize and offer our respected viewers this summary, along with a voice-over reading of the transcribable parts from Master’s replies, picked up faintly in some parts by a nearby mobile phone. VO: Upon being asked how She has been doing, Master said that She was OK but very busy, taking care of many things every day: not just Supreme Master Television, but also numerous other matters and issues, ranging from businesses to people’s varied temperaments. Master said that even with the pandemic which also affects Her ventures’ income, a lot of funds are still being given out by Her all the time, and there are many monthly and other expenses that need to be taken care of. Master is living alone and very simply, at present in a 2 by 4 meter room. It is a space that would be sufficient in case She needed to take care of Her dogs. (Her desk is the same as how we saw it before, with all the cables and wires running all over it!) She also mentioned that it was encouraging for Her to hear some good news from around the world. For example, the Northern and Southern parts of Korea have taken peaceful, positive steps by resuming communication and agreeing to improve ties. Also, some rich patrons invested in a new vegan production company, plus vegan food and the vegan trend are growing so fast! Master then asked if there were any other questions. Q(m): Yes, there are. In California, a law called Proposition 47 requires some certain serious crimes to be charged as less serious ones, with the consequence that criminals are openly committing acts of theft without fear of prosecution. For example, one would have to steal over US$950 of goods from a store to commit a felony and thus have the police be interested in arresting the suspect. Below this amount, it is a misdemeanor and not considered worth the time of the police and prosecutors to arrest and convict the individual. What does Master think of this law? VO: Master answered that even misdemeanors, meaning minor crimes like theft, are unlawful, and could lead to worse, more serious felonies. (Investigators say Joseph Espinoza and his accomplices pulled up in an SUV, trying to rob Nick and his friend as they stood outside, before Espinoza allegedly fired several shots.) (He was shot in the back of the head, running away.) (Just hours before the deadly shooting, Fresno Police say officers found Espinoza and his friend, Jose Figueroa, in a room at Motel 6 on North Blackstone. They arrested Figueroa on gun charges and found methamphetamine on Espinoza.) (But instead of being booked into jail for a felony, under Proposition 47, he was issued a misdemeanor citation for that charge.) (Prop 47 did kill my son.) VO: Thus, governments should not be encouraging lawless behavior, which might cause other states’ or countries’ people to think that misdemeanors are acceptable. Also, after the California law was implemented, many small businesses and people have suffered from an increase in thefts; in some worse cases, businesses were forced to close, maybe due to fear of attack, and loss of income. Master said this is not right and so She does not agree with this law. In Master’s words: “… They take anything they want and run out. (Yes.) Just like that. That is not a good example for anybody. (No.) Especially for the children. You see that. (That’s right.) Maybe the prison is full, but they can build another kind of prison. (Yes.) Don’t have to keep moving them to the extremist prison. They can build a more simple prison for the very light kind of misdemeanors, they call it, right? (Yes, misdemeanor.) And then make a job in there, create a business to sell, to give them work. (Yes.) … (Yes, that’s right.) Make kind of a company, and all the misdemeanor people have to work there to earn their keep.” (Yes.) (We take the freedom from them, but when they are here, we try to help them, to get better citizens.) (Inmates have a normal work week, giving them routine and responsibilities. Training to be car mechanics, and graphic designers in a state-of-the-art studio.) (From the City Hall, we’re getting jobs from them.) (Learning skills like restaurant prep (where they’re trusted to handle knives) can help them get jobs on the outside.) (Before, I’d think more like a criminal. But now I start to think more like a normal guy.) In Master’s words: “They cannot, just because the prison is full, tell people to go out and steal. That is against society’s principle. That will lower people’s dignity, and create a chaotic, unsafe living environment. You cannot just live freely, stealing people’s property like that. And then in the meantime, you are even defunding the police, telling people to not buy guns and all that. No wonder crimes soared up. Because it is all contradictory. The business owners have to pay taxes, have to pay their employees, employees’ insurance, bonuses, vacations, etc. (Right.) They also have their families, children to take care of too! They must pay for all kinds of insurance, mortgages, school fees, and hundreds of other things. The government is responsible for the poor, not shoving this burden to private citizens, who already contribute for this through tax payment! How can they live being robbed anytime without protection from the police and authorities!? (Yes.) On top of that, they are not allowed to have guns for defense. (Not that I support guns, but the poor hapless people will be forced to resort to this means of defense, thus create a more beyond-control violent society!!!) It’s absolutely against logic, morals and any society’s safety standard. I hope they will change this harmful law! I mean, people have to survive. (Yes.) I mean the good people, the hardworking kind. (That’s right.) The backbone of society… Shop owners risking their capital to open a business, they must earn their money. And if the shop’s items are always being stolen like that, the business will be out, then consequently the employees, the good kind of people, will be fired. And then he has no money, and then what to do? Copy that thief. (Yes.) Maybe because they have no job. Or maybe because they say, ‘Oh, what the heck, why not?’ (Yes.) They work very hard. And that guy who does nothing, can come in and take everything he likes. ‘Why the heck I don’t do the same?’ See what I’m saying? (That’s right.) It’s a very bad, bad, bad example. Don’t you think so?” (I agree, I mean it creates like a ripple effect.) “Yeah!” (If one person does it, the others think, “Ah, it’s OK.” And this is not good.) “Sure! Even in Europe they saw all of that.” (Yes.) “It has this very bad reputation, for whatever county of the United States, or state, or country. You cannot teach people to be immoral and bad, and then expect the whole nation to be safe and sound! Especially the USA, the country that people look up to! Imagine being called the country of thieves! What an ‘honorable’ name for its citizens! (Yes.) Suppose the thieves came into any of these lawmakers’ homes. I don’t think the lawmakers would be welcoming and say, ‘OK, take my daughter’s bicycle, take my son’s computer. (Right.) Take my best suit. Help yourself, take anything you want, they’re less than US$950.’ I don’t think any of these lawmakers would do that. (No.) It’s not just about the stolen goods, but about how long can any shop owner keep their cool over this. And then one day, he might lose it. And then there will be more violence. It’s about people’s peace and people’s lives. Can you see that clearly?” (Yes.) How long can any shop owner afford it? Without businesses, there will be no taxes for the government to exist. So the Proposition 47 law is just like biting the hands that feed them.” (Mr. Lý is the manager at the Mobile Mart on Union and 19th Street downtown. He also dabbles in criminal art, with a portrait of shoplifters on his wall. But he says it’s gotten much worse the past two years.) (We just caught another one!) (Like when? Today?) (Yeah, about 10 minutes ago.) (He has dozens of video clips of people trying to slip items into their pockets and pants. However, Mr. Lý believes he’s only catching about 20% of them.) (How often do people come in and create problems in the store?) (Every day. Every single day.) (It’s not an exaggeration. While the interview was underway, customers were filling their pockets with merchandise and just walking out of the store.) (Is shoplifting an issue?) (Oh, yeah. They decriminalized petty theft in California. So, it happens every few minutes. Literally in our store, probably 15-20 times a day.) (20 times a day?) (Oh, yeah.) (Businesses say rampant and brazen thefts, many tied to larger criminal fencing operations, are escalating at a rate they’ve never seen before, people walking out of big and small stores with whatever they want.) (That Walgreens over there got marked as a store that you could walk in and steal stuff.) In Master’s words: “And another thing: American people are well known for their generosity and giving charity. It is even reported that America donated the most for charity causes throughout the world. It’s one thing to give voluntarily with love. But it’s another thing to be robbed and just stand by helplessly like that. (Yes.) This really is abuse. And the people who come in to steal, how do we know they are poor and needy? They may not be. Because the police don’t check, nobody dares to check them. They are lawfully criminal… (Right.) Lawmakers live in safety and comfort anyway; completely different from ordinary, working-class people. They just want to have a good guy name, and they want to forget the poor like this. They are eating well and don’t really care. And then the youth will think all this thieving is OK (Yes.): ‘I don’t need to work extra to buy that CD, when I can just go in and take anything from a store. Nobody will do anything. They will just film me, but they won’t do anything about it.’ (Yes.) If this law continues, the shop owner won’t have any more income, he’ll become poor – and then what? Become a thief. And that breeds one more thief in society. Even in a communist society, the government tells people not to go out and steal, to not just take from others like that. The communists don’t do that. (That’s right.) With this kind of law, society will go down. Some people just don’t want to work and have to pay for things. Then the shop owner will be forced to close shop and maybe forced into stealing, adding one more thief to society, because of this kind of law.” (Walgreens has already closed some stores in San Francisco, citing theft problems, and last week, confirmed it’s closing another location in Oakland due to ongoing organized retail crime.) In Master’s words: “I told you I will not mince my words anymore. People have to know. Even if America is rotten, I say this for the rest of the world. Look at the church, the Roman Catholic Church, how nobody said anything and they covered up all the abuse. Children were killed. (Yes.) Everywhere, from the church to the government, they are rotten. They’re working for Satan. I tell you I am an angry Master. I’m an angry vegan Master. This law will just breed more violence. People today will steal things for US$900, and then tomorrow it will be more, US$2,000. There will never be an end to people’s greed if you just let them loose like that. Normally, people will not think of stealing. If it is so easy just to go into any store and take things like that, then there is no use of opening shop anymore. (Right.) It’s too tempting for even the good ones. In the long run, the whole nation will be encouraged to be thieves because it’s too easy to get things for free and not have to work. Since more than a year especially, already the people in America have to suffer, because of arson, because of burning houses, because of looting businesses from big shot-encouraged protesters.” (People will do what they do.) (Oh, my!) (I don’t think that’s fair for us because we are small business owners.) (The store was broken into two more times. Each time, Williams had to come out of his own pocket to restock.) (A lot of my own people say, “Oh, she ain’t to worry about that, she’s got insurance.” People don't know how insurance works. I haven’t got paid for insurance yet.) (In some cases, buildings were burned, never to reopen, or remain boarded up months later while owners try to recoup their losses.) (So far, I think we’ve lost about ten businesses.) (I’d never seen violence like that before. They ended up pulling my mom out of the car and they attacked her, and they broke her leg, and they broke her nose.) (It’s not clear if her parents will ever feel safe enough to reopen their humble neighborhood shop.) In Master’s words: “Because of COVID-19, many businesses had to close already. And then if they have to suffer like this, it is truly… I don’t know if anybody dares to open a business anymore. Then where will we go to buy our stuff? We have to respect business people, shop owners. For all their hard work, for our convenience.” (Yes, that’s right.) … They should solve the economic problem, not just avoid the crowded prisons or playing the good guy, caring not about how hard-working taxpayers must face hardship, danger daily, fending for themselves in a fearful, lawless country. Make other prisons different from them. Let them all work there and work in the garden. (Yes.) Even plant vegetables, make an organic farm. Plant, and sell. (Yes.) And enjoy. We are having shortages of food at present due to the climate, COVID and tons of other reasons. So let them contribute, not burden their countrymen and make bad examples for others, especially for the youth!” (In Finland, many detainees are sent to low-security facilities, where they interact with the local community, have jobs, and prepare a smooth return to society.) (About one-third of the prisoners work outside for the National Forestry Commission. Others work in civilian jobs as long as they have authorization. And the rest work here, on-site.) (Part of that site is the prison farm.) (Do you think a prison like this will stop you (from) committing crime in the future?) (Oh, yeah! It’s good, the system here is good because they treat you differently. They want you to be a better person for the future. So they give you an opportunity.) (Every indicator shows that, yes, it works better.) (With some of the lowest rates of crime and incarceration in Europe, prison reformers often look to Finland as an example.) (The food produced here actually goes back in to feed inmates and can feed staff. And the inmates are actually doing the work too. They’re doing all the hard work out here.) (Corrections officials believe this farm is a great training ground for inmates, who may pursue agricultural work after their release. Also, between crop production and a composting project, this facility saves taxpayers about US$400,000 a year.) In Master’s words: “No meat. Right now, especially right now. We should not. It will be something to be proud of, that will keep their dignity. (Yes, of course.) Nobody will treat them like they’re bad, a thief, and shunning them like a plague, an infecting virus, (Right.) like a problem. And they will be good if getting help that way.”

Why Do Good People Suffer in This World?, Part 1 of 6

00:27:30

Why Do Good People Suffer in This World?, Part 1 of 6

Even Astral Level, the lowest of all the Levels in the Shadow World, people there are still more receptive to the Truth than the people on this planet. They think things topsy-turvy, you can never understand why they think like that, and why they did like that. (Right. I see.) So, many Masters suffered on Earth. That’s why they suffered a lot. And any good people, they encountered trouble. (Master, we have a couple of questions from the team if You would like to answer.) OK. Tell me. (The first question is: Master, President Trump seems to do all the good things for America.) It seems so. (But why are people still against him?) Oh, they just continue from before. Some left over, maybe less now because he’s already out of the powerhouse, so they probably leave him alone a little bit. But, no, no, there’s still many hair-splitting things going on for him. (What is the reason? Why is that, Master??) What’s the reason? Why? Why? Why did they kill Jesus? Why did they try to assassinate the Buddha? Why did they assassinate, or torture or persecute so many of the Masters or many good people since time immemorial? Why, why, why? People, they just do that because they are under influence of the demons. I told you, the zealous demons, they want to cause trouble so people will quarrel with each other, and then it may result in killing each other and then they can eat the corpse. Not physically, but the energy from that corpse, mixed with that corpse. They can eat it in the astral form. That’s how they can survive, the zealous demons. (I see.) Their karma forces them to do that. Just like many while they’re living, they don’t do anything good. They don’t help people when they’re hungry, even though they have money. So when they die, they became kind of ghosts, hungry ghosts. (Yes.) And the Buddha also described it in the sutra, saying that their throat is long and thin like a needle, but their stomach is very, very big and large. So even if they eat something, they never feel satisfied because the food doesn’t go in that easily, even if they have food. Whatever we do in our life results in something else, and then we have to take the consequences for that. People are just against Trump because he really did something good for the Americans and the world. (Yes.) But it’s beyond their concept. They did not understand. Also, jealousy. Envy that people like him, that he’s so energetic and does things successfully. So people don’t like it. For them, they’ve never been so successful before. (Yes.) Always go on to war, war, war, spend trillions of dollars, while many Americans are still under the poverty line or homeless. (Right.) And they never stopped to think. Trump did stop and think. (Yes, Master.) He’s a worthy president. He should be in the White House forever (Yes.) because he’s good for the Americans and good for the world. You can see he makes peace so easily with many countries. (Yes.) He has a high intelligence, that’s why. (Yes.) Very high intelligence. Very high IQ. And people cannot catch up with him because not everyone has a high IQ like he does. (Oh, yes.) He does things that they don’t understand or they don’t want to understand. (Right.) He doesn’t want bloodshed. (Yes.) Another president kills just for optics, so people don’t think that he’s weak. Just continues bombing other people. It’s people’s lives. It’s not theater. It’s not a movie. (Right. Yes, Master.) I don’t understand that kind of concept that you have to kill people so that others think you are tough and macho. My God! This is beyond understanding. (It is.) It’s people’s lives, man. Including women, children, elderly and the weak, feeble, and animals and all that. My God! So this president, President Trump, he did not want all that. He’s an honest, straightforward person. He does things honestly and intelligently, and they don’t like that. It’s nothing like them at all. All these presidents, before and after, keep going to war all the time. (Yes.) And he doesn’t. He doesn’t want that. He doesn’t want to start a new war, and he wants to stop all the wars as well. "Fox News Interview President Trump July1, 2021: If you look at my views, my views haven’t changed. I’ve felt this way about these crazy, endless wars where we’re losing so many wonderful, young, beautiful people. And we’re not fighting, we’re just sort of there... But, we got to bring our people back home. It’s time - 21 years in Afghanistan, 21 years." He’s good for the world as well, not just good for Americans. (Yes.) He’d save hundreds of billions every year, if they don’t go to war. (Yes.) And save people’s lives, Americans and other countries’ people’s lives. (Yes.) So they cannot bear that. And the people who produce weapons, they won’t like it. (Oh, yes.) All these are very powerful people. (Yes, Master.) And even though they keep changing presidents by voting, but the system is established. (I see.) They are doing similar things, like the predecessor, the president before them, and they just like to go to war and all that stuff. And even if they cannot, they’d do something else. Like usual. There’s a pattern. Or they do whatever’s fashionable or trendy, (Understand.) just to stay in. (Right.) Just to be voted again or their party will be voted for again. It’s all politically motivated, or for fame and gain, mostly. (Right.) And whoever is not in that fashion, in that established guideline or framework, and especially new coming, then sooner or later they eliminate him. You see, Jimmy Carter was one of the good men. (Yes.) Very humble and good, but he had only one term. (Yes.) The same with President Trump, even though he’s an excellent man for being a politician. He’s good, good, good. (He is. Yes.) There’s no reason for people to do anything except stick in their square. Doing things like in a square. Too square. That’s why they kill also many good people, good politicians, and many Masters, also they kill them just for no reason. Nothing can explain why they had to kill Jesus. (Right.) He didn’t do anything wrong. (No, He didn’t.) He didn’t steal, He didn’t kill, He didn’t commit any wrong thing. He didn’t sell drugs, or He didn’t do anything wrong to any citizen. They just had to kill Him. No need a reason. If there is no reason at all, they could find a reason. They could fabricate a reason, like Trump is working with Russia and all that stuff. They found nothing. Any little thing, they make it a big deal so that they can harm him in different ways (I see.) and degrade him. Oh! When I look at that with my eyes, even just physical eyes, I feel so nauseated. (Yes.) "Fox News Interview President Trump September 8, 2021: I had to run the country, work on the world, and do things. And the other thing ‒ I had to survive. (Yes.) The survival was much tougher. Because I had people coming after me. I had 19 really haters after me, I had every form of law enforcement after me, started from the day I came down the escalator. It never stops. I have every prosecutor after me. They’re looking at deals that I did years and years ago, I forgot about them. It is a disgrace. So, I had to survive. (Yes.) But if you don’t survive, you can’t do a good job in terms of running. So, I had survival and I had running the country. (Right.) And I would say the survival was actually much tougher (than) running the country."So, now you know. There’s no reason, no need any reason. (Yes.) (Yes, Master. But…) What do you think? Just tell me. (I wonder would people come to a maybe higher level of consciousness to see President Trump’s goodness and all that is good?) I know. I know. I also, I wonder myself. (Yes.) There was a joke about some man who wants… God wants to grant him a boon. Whatever he wants to ask for, he can have it. So he asked for peace in the world. (Yes.) God said, “Oh no, ask for something else.” He said, “All right then, but when can we ever have peace on this world?” So God said, “Not in my lifetime.” (Oh no!) It’s just a joke. (Yes.) People will continue to do many unthinkable things or unimaginable things or incomprehensible things. So the world is as messy and chaotic as it is. (Yes.) Very difficult to teach humans on this planet. In the Astral Level it’s easier, because they understand better. Not the hell astral but above that. (Yes.) And Astral Level has many, many levels. When Paramahansa Yogananda saw His Master again, resurrected, to see Him again, His Master, Sri Yukteswar, told Him that He has been good on Earth so God has let Him stay in the Astral Level to teach astral beings there. Because it’s easier. Easier to teach them there than on Earth. (Oh, I see.) It is like that. Even like Tesla. (Yes.) He was just an inventor. He tried to make physical life more comfortable for people only. (Right.) It’s not even political. It’s not even religious. He’s not into religion or anything, or preaching religious doctrines ‒ nothing! (Yes.) They still keep hunting him. He had to hide in many places. He had to keep moving also. Just because he wanted to offer people a better way to live comfortably, with electricity free and all that; there’s no need to even pay. But because of that, it conflicted with the interest of business people at that time. (Yes, Master.) What will they do if they cannot sell the wire for electricity, the pole for electricity, the machines that have to have electricity, (Yes.) with all the wires and all that? They’re connected all together. And they cannot sell if they do like Tesla suggested. (Understand.) Wireless and no complication. Could even be free for everybody. He could have brought us into a much higher level of technical invention and technical lifestyle. Much, much better for us. But no, they will just hunt him down. They would hunt him down, so he had to keep moving. So, many of his inventions have never come to fruition. Now it comes out a little bit. And I read recently that the FBI even checked it out and said that he came from Venus. He had contact with them and all that. And they told him how to do things. (Wow.) But good people, hard to survive in this world. (Yes.) Not to talk about good Masters. (Unfortunately, it’s true.) He was just a scientist. (Yes.) He does things scientifically, it’s not like he hula-hop or was doing magic or anything that people would be fearful of. (Yes, Master.) Just straightforward science. (Yes.)

Buddhist Stories: “The Hundred-Headed Fish," "The Peaceful Heaven Being's Deeds," and "The Trayastrimsa Heaven Gatherings," Part 1 of 8

Buddhist Stories: “The Hundred-Headed Fish," "The Peaceful Heaven Being's Deeds," and "The Trayastrimsa Heaven Gatherings," Part 1 of 8

And (in) many other sutras, Buddha always mentioned about the Sound. Like, all the Bodhisattvas rely on the Sound stream to come down to this Earth to save sentient beings. And all the saved sentient beings rely on the Sound stream to go to Heaven or Buddha’s Land, something like that. You stay here a long time? (No, just until the 12th.) Until the 12th? (I got here on the 2nd.) OK, very good. After the 12th, you have to ask one of the sisters taking care of this. (OK, I will.) Because I only see you every day, people might think I’m your boyfriend. Because not everybody stays long, and he stays quite long and keeps helping. I appreciate your help. You’re a very good boy, good boy. It’s just (that) I’m fed up with so many gossips. I need to ask an old lady who stays long to take care of this for me. But they’re busy, cooking and whatever. I am not his boyfriend. Just to make sure you know. You can bring this upstairs. (To the table?) Table, please. Thank you. I am going upstairs, OK? (OK.) (Thank You, Master.) The whole world is waiting. You all manage to get wet or not? (A little bit.) A little bit? (But due to Your grace we were ...) You were what? (Go to your house.) Yeah, you went to my house and the gallery and I asked my assistant if not enough space, then just span some canvas, and you sit under, inside, in the middle, so you won’t get wet. And I said maybe 12, 10 people can go to my hut. So I roomed all the blankets and everything and you can sit there if you want. But she said, “OK, we’ll manage,” so you didn’t come. Or you didn’t like my hut? (No.) (We like it.) Or she didn’t tell you? Didn’t tell. (Yes, she didn’t tell.) (He said this in the office that everyone would want to come.) Yeah, if everyone wants to come then it’s pointless, because you’d get wet. It’s only about three meters under the roof, under cover. In my hut, you can sit maybe two people, or maybe two people lie under the bed and two people sit in front of the bed. That is (the) maximum capacity. Because on top of the bed, there are so many things already. I moved things from my house there, so that the house would be free. And under the bed is where I sleep, so I moved all the bed and things and then two people can sleep there. I mean lie-down meditation. You think if you lie down under my bed, you can meditate well, right? You’re wrong! When I lie down there, I sleep, so the sleeping energy might affect you. I’ll read you one more story of some of the scary stuff, no, not really that scary. Just to remind you of the karma, the karmic retribution that we cannot always avoid. Then later, I’ll read you some nice story, another sutra. In many other religious texts, there’s not too much mentioned… Maybe I don’t read that many. I read in the bibles, or in the ... mentioned very lightly. Like Jesus said whoever refuses you, then take a handful of sand and throw it away, meaning that house doesn’t have merit. Wherever you step in, you just take the sand of it and just throw it out, throw away. Or whoever the house that refuses His disciples, similar thing like that. Or they mention like hell fire, temptation of the devil, but not so particularly detailed, like in the Buddhist sutras. Therefore, I’m reading it to you. Sometimes, before I also mentioned many times, and I also read some Buddhist stories before, many years ago or sometimes now and then, because it’s so detailed. In case you’re curious to know what hell is like, now that you can’t go there anymore. You wonder if the Master is hiding something there and doesn’t want us to go. So I checked it out for you. The Buddha already checked it out so I’m telling you. Not because I encourage you to follow Buddhism or that Christianity is inferior, it’s not like that, no, no, no. All religions are similar, rooted from the same beginning, from the Light and the Sound. And later I will read some of that, and then you know the Buddha mentioned the Sound. He said, “The Sound Hearers of such-and-such-Levels,” etc. I’ll read it to you later. But of course, as in our group, we practice the Sound, the hearing of the Sound, the inner Sound, hearing with the inner ears, seeing with inner eyes. But I don’t always say that in every lecture. Because you know it already. Or I don’t always… maybe I say it in the open lecture, but not in the group. And during the lecture, I mentioned only a couple of times of the Sound hearing and the Light seeing, and the rest I explained why and I referred to bibles or sutras, etc. Therefore, it’s the same with the Buddha. He doesn’t always mention the Sound and Light and stuff like that. But we see the Buddha has Light all the time and He mentions Sound hearing sometimes. A lot is mentioned in the Lotus Sutra about the Sound, many times, more than in other sutras. But it’s likewise; we don’t always mention it, here even, because you knew it already. Now you see. This one is about the fish who has 100 heads. Takes a lot of thinking. Let’s see why, why the fish has so many heads. “Thus, I have heard,” so you know it’s from Ananda again. Oh, is the livestream on already? We don’t have to wait? Wow, high-tech! Wonderful! “One time, the Buddha was in the country called Ma Kiệt Đề (Magadha) in the Bamboo Grove. One day, the Buddha…” They say, “The World Honored One.” Same. The Buddha – “World Honored One and all the bhiksus going from there to the next country, Tỳ Xá Ly (Vaisali), and they were resting at the bank of a river, called Lê Việt. On the bank of that river, alongside, there were 500 ...” Why always 500? I wonder. It’s just probably kind of symbolic. Like I asked how many people are left over in the rain, they said, “Approximately 500.” I said, “Oh, 500 won’t fit in my hut and in front of the hut.” In front of the hut, there is a protective roof also, you saw it, transparent, so that I can see the rain and the sun. And the hut inside is just a normal hut, a wood hut. I opened all the office and everything, the living room downstairs, upstairs the nuns are staying. Well, should I continue with the nuns or continue with the story first? By the way, I’m telling you, why I ask you to respect them, because they’re not ordinary nuns. By the way I’m telling you this. Yes, they are nuns already, many tens of years, many decades. But even then, they follow me. Not only these, there are many Korean monks, nuns do that, monks and nuns too. Some are very elderly already, maybe 60, 70 already, many decades being monks, and they still follow me and believe in my teaching. That is special, because many monks and nuns, they believe they’ve already got everything from the Buddha’s sutras. They don’t need me; they don’t need any other method. The Buddha’s just talking about enlightenment. I’m bringing enlightenment. That’s the big difference. But I’m teaching the same as the Buddha, as Jesus or other Masters. I’m not teaching anything contradictory to that. That’s why they’re more special, understand? (Yes.) Remember I had a retreat in Korea Center before? Yes. And some of you put money together for the buses and for the food and all that to eat together. And then some was left over and I also put some out. So together I gave about 120 or something U.S. dollars… thousand, 120-something thousand U.S. dollars to build a little refuge, ashram for them. So some of the Korean monks, they had nowhere else to go, then they stayed there. But they don’t just stay there and receive offering. I did not tell them that, but they went out in the vicinity working on the plantations, grapes or whatever gardens, and then earn their own living. So they are very special and worthy of your respect. Understand now? (Yes, Master.) Not just because I said, “OK, you can practice and you don’t have to be monks and nuns.” It’s not the same. They have self-denial, self-discipline, a little bit more than you. And they don’t go out and buy a lot of clothes. They just wear three, four, five pairs of similar clothes every day. They live simple. They always sleep on the floor. I knew that. Therefore, I made the floor warm, you know this warming floor system? Because it’s a new house, so we can do that. They did not build it yet, so I built it, I specified they make the floor warm. Is it still warm, the floor? (Yes.) Yes, so in winter, Korea is very cold; even then they sleep on the floor. So I specified to make the floor warm, warm under the floor instead of on the wall only, or from the ceiling or from air con. Daytime, they work anyway. But nighttime, at least when they sit in meditation or lie down to stretch a little while, they don’t feel pain, because it can be very painful. Winter, if the cold comes from the floor, you can’t avoid it, and it gives them pain. Asceticism is good, but pain is not. I mean, we don’t spoil the body, but we try to take care as good as we can, so that it lasts long and it's comfortable to continue our practice. Because if you have too much pain, you cannot concentrate very well, at least in the beginning. Once you enter samadhi, then you don’t feel much. That should be the good practitioners. But then not everyone reaches that level so quick. First, comfortable, and then go up. So I want you to have respect for them. Don’t push, don’t take their place, and don’t try to, kind of… Because you want to see Master and don’t care who is who: “Get out of my way.” My dogs are like that, I’m sorry. When they see me coming, they forget each other, they’re just squeezing, elbowing each other to come to the front, and sometimes wagging tails at each other, the tails coming together, so cute! Every day, if I have something special for my lunch, I always share with them, a little bit, not much, because it’s from mine, they cook for me only. Don’t cook more than that, OK, kitchen (staff), because I don’t have room to put all the trays. Maximum two trays, only for whatever you want to cook. And one time a day, that’s enough. Don’t think because I invite other people, and then cook more. It’s not, it’s not like that. Because you have already food here. Only something special, then I offer to them. Also because they’re monks, maybe they don’t have much money to buy the things that you make for me. And not only that, but the Aulacese (Vietnamese) things, they won’t have it there. They work all day; they don’t have time to make (vegan) spring rolls and all that for themselves, even though they know how. So if it’s something special like that, I offer to them. But if it’s normal, and the rest is just normal food like you eat, then I don’t offer, because they have it here in the common kitchen.

Whatever We Want, We Will Have It, Part 4 of 12

Whatever We Want, We Will Have It, Part 4 of 12

Anyway, there’s some problem in the world, you know that. Because we are different. Some like men, some like women, and this is where the problem begins. If we all don’t have men, then we don’t have a lot of trouble. Some have trouble, right? And if we don’t have women, the men would also have more peace. Sorry about that. But sometimes you cannot choose. OK, listen guys. The mainland Chinese who just arrived or haven’t seen me since last week, raise your hand. Mainland Chinese. OK? Which one is from the furthest place, like taking two or three days to arrive? You, how many days? (We are all two days.) Two days. (Two days.) Two days, or three, four days. Starting from two days, come here. Slowly. Don’t be jealous. They come from so far away. We should treat them better. Come here, the two days. Only two, three and four days can come here. Come over here, understand? Don’t push. Don’t fool me. Don’t fool me. Come here. (Thank You, Master.) Each gets a little. OK? (I love You.) I love you. (Master, I love You.) Love you, love you. Come up. Come up. First. (Master, I love You.) Oh! So many people. It takes two or three days to be able to arrive. Really? (Yes.) Let’s check ID. OK. Let’s check. Sorry. Sorry you guys, watch your feet. Watch everything that you have. I am not responsible. Yeah, come here. Come closer. Closer. Come up. Sorry, my stage is small. It’s OK to come up. Come up if you can, because I can’t reach that far. OK. Take whatever you can get. (Master, how are You?) Come. Here, mom. (Master, how are You?) Come. Just a few per person. Don’t take all. If you have extra, give to the neighbors. I am not a supermarket. You already took six bags. This place is not a supermarket. I cannot have everything. There. (Hallo, Master!) Yeah, hallo! Where are you from? So far. The old mom doesn’t have it. You have got it. Come, mom. (Thank You, Master.) Give her a little more. OK? Don’t take. (Thank You, Master. It’s the first time. Thank You, Master. I took already.) No problem. Not too many people. Stay, and have more look. Come. (Thank You.) I love you. Come. (I love You too.) Don’t push, don’t push. I will give. (Master, love You.) Love you. Don’t push. (Master, I haven’t seen You for 11 years.) Eleven years? (Yes. I have it already.) You have it? (Thank You, thank You.) Slowly. (Master.) I will throw if I can’t reach. OK? If it’s too far. Come. I will throw. Each person takes a few. OK? (OK.) One or two pieces is enough. (OK.) It’s not that the more you take the more love you have. It’s not like that. The ones in the front contrarily can’t get any? (I want to present this to someone.) (Master, I haven’t gotten one yet.) (My husband.) Your husband and mom don’t have it. (Thank You.) No old people? (Yes.) (Oh! Thank You! So many.) Whoever doesn’t have, raise your hand. No, not you. Whoever hasn’t taken it, raise your hand. (We all have it.) Mom, the red one. (Thank You, Master.) Does everyone have it? (We all have it.) (I don’t have it.) Here you are again. Wife. (For my husband.) You are married to him, not me. Why should I care about your husband? It’s her husband, not mine. (Thank You, Master.) (This one.) Whoever still doesn’t have, raise your hand. She hasn’t got it yet. You already have it. Slowly. Of course, you want 20. I know it. There are also the villagers. The villagers and the town residents, right? Whoever doesn’t have, raise your hand. Whoever doesn’t have on this side, raise your hand first. (Thank You.) You don’t have it here? The ones who haven’t taken first. (Thank You.) You have so little. Too little, raise your hand. A little symbolically. You will not be tired of eating it. (Never tired of eating.) Come. Don’t have? OK? You don’t have? (I do.) Then why do you raise your hand? (Master, I have.) If you don’t have, raise your hand. You don’t have? (I do.) Only the ones who really don’t have. (We all have.) The one behind. OK. Enough. Everybody has already. No, no! (Thank You, Master.) Sit down, OK? Sit further, or we won’t have enough space. Sit further back. You Dharma guards step aside. Dharma guards step aside. You Dharma guards step aside. Sit further back. This way it’s more spacious. Sit further back, so it’s more spacious. The elders sit up here. Take this away for now. Otherwise it’s not enough for them. All elders come up. Those seniors, come up. The seniors come up first. Sit, sit. Come over. Come up. Sit. Sit down. OK? Yes? (Yes.) Old mom. Please sit. Don’t kneel. OK? Sit. No problem. Don’t worry about the shoes. It’s just the floor, and it can be wiped later. She has nothing? She didn’t get it? (I have.) You do? Please sit. OK. It’s OK. Grandma doesn’t have it? (Yeah.) OK. Then please sit back a little bit. (OK.) Take these away, OK? Dharma guards, please. Let them sit. We can take care of it later. Please sit, mom. Mom, sit here. The one in green and red, sit there. Come over here. OK. Oh! How many days haven’t you washed your clothes? I can smell it. It’s not because of soap, right? Old mom, please sit down. The best place is for you. Please sit. Don’t worry about the shoes. Put the shoes on. I also put them on. Too cold. Put them on. Do you have earphone? (Yes.) Be prepared, because sometimes I may speak English. Do you have an urgent question? (No.) No. That’s good. (Long live Master! I wish You live 10,000 years.) Thank you, I don’t want to live that long. A hundred years is long enough. 10,000 years is too long. Do you want? You are so old and still come. So far away and you still dare. (It’s not easy.) Easy? (Every time I wanted to come but couldn’t make it. I wanted to see You but couldn’t.) You couldn’t see. (Finally I see You this time.) You dare to come from that far. (Master, I saw You in Thailand in 2006. That time I was far, far away. For more than ten years, I have always wished to see You from close distance. Today my wish has come true. Thank You. I am very touched.) You are welcome. Don’t start to cry. They all will. If they start to cry, trouble comes. I don’t have enough... (Thank You, Master.) Here. You are welcome. Coughing? Anyone coughing? (I cough a little bit.) A little bit. Even if you didn’t, you might start to cough. (There is another one who is a renunciate. She is a renunciate.) A renunciate? (She is a Taoist renunciate.) A renunciate? Oh! (Since following You, I have stopped being a renunciate.) Stopped? Don’t do that. Continue to be a renunciate. (Thank You, Master.) OK. Come. Give to that dad. A renunciate. No. You are not a renunciate. If you shave your head, I will give to you. OK. That’s all. Look at me more. OK? Can you ever see me enough? No more space. OK? Is it close enough? (Enough.) (It’s close enough. Thank You, Master.) It’s better than nothing, right? Take it to that crying person in the back. (I can close my eyes when I die.) What about dying? Don’t die. (My wish is fulfilled.) Your wish is fulfilled before death. I thought you came here to die. Please don’t. (I am content. And I am OK.) My God! OK now? (I am content. Thank You, Master.) OK. Good. (Can I prostrate before Your feet? I want to kowtow at Your feet.) What for? No. (Let me kowtow at Your feet.) Please don’t. You are so old. It will hurt when you squat down. Please don’t. (It won’t hurt.) No need for external gesture. OK? Respect in the heart will be enough. All our love is in the heart. Don’t bother. No need to prostrate, kowtow, or things like that. (Master, please take care.) (Thank You, Master.) (Master, please take care.) I will take care. You take care too. (Master, please take care.) Can never finish touching. Please forgive me. Can never finish touching. (Thank You, Master.) (It’s good.) Just the elders, OK? I will touch the old people in the front. Too many people, can’t touch you all. OK. Good. (Thank You, Master.) (Hi Master!) Hi! (Master, we feel very much content now.) Oh, yes. Thank you. (Thank You.) Can’t finish touching. If I continue, you will push too hard. It’s too hard. Don’t. Thank you. Oh, my God! No external gestures. OK? (OK.) It’s OK if we know it in the heart. It’s OK if all of you practice well. (Thank You, Master.) Are you initiated? No. You are? Why did they give you such a funny…? (I was moving house. I was moving house in Australia. I misplaced it somewhere.) You lost it. (Not lost, just misplaced.) Misplaced somewhere. Is your new house better for you? (It is much better. Yes, Master.) Where did you move from? And where to? (I was living down on the New South Wales coast. And now I moved to the Gold Coast.) Gold Coast. (Yes. In Australia.) For gold? (Not for gold, Master.) Of course. OK, love. Then you could sit together with them. You follow them (Yes.) so that you don’t get lost, because it’s the first time you came here. You show him everywhere, you guys. (Yes.) The men, not the women. I’m worried where you want to show him. We have a couple of men here, it’s all right. Just so that people don’t misunderstand us. Really. Before, I had big dogs, so I preferred men. They can drive car. They love driving! They love machines, any kind! So driving is their stuff. And I also like them because my dogs are big, so they can carry them to the car, carry them from the vet. Sometimes when they are sick or they cannot walk, or when they’re older. But then we have some problems also, with men, because people would think why I have so many men swarming around. I don’t know why, either. Ask my dogs. And then later, also sometimes jealousy so I say, “OK, you choose women, better, less trouble.” But then I have another problem. You never know who’s a real woman or just 50-50, or even 100%, the other way around. You know what I mean? You never know. So the outside doesn’t really matter too much. It’s the inside. Oh, my dog is here? I brought him down and I forgot. There’s no chance to come, baby! No chance! He is big. Oh, my God. There’s no place here, Good Love! You can go back home if you want. If he makes trouble and if you don’t want to stay, you can bring him back home. If you can control him, it’s OK. Go bring him some water, drink. If you want to go home, take him home. Normally can, but today he can only sit here, but I don’t think it’s a very good idea. I didn’t know women can also become jealous with each other. Because the 50-50 problem. You understand or not? I don’t know any more nowaday who is who. I don’t know who’s 50, who’s 100. So I just close my eyes. Whatever! I don’t want to see anything, I don’t want to know. As long as they don’t bother me. We have some problem, because of sometimes competitiveness, or sometimes jealousy. So it doesn’t mean if you have a lot of men around you, then you’re OK, then you have no problem. They also can be jealous of each other, for no reason. Funny! And if you have women all around, with me as a woman, it’s not necessarily that you have peace. Sorry, monk. Do you want to come up? Forget about it. Sit there with the boys. Don’t push him. Understand? He is a monk, so keep your distance. Be respectful and keep your distance. Five meters is the best. It’s not even five inches on this side. Look. Recite Buddhas’ names, and it will be fine. That nun should also recite Buddhas’ names. Then it will be fine. OK.

Whatever We Want, We Will Have It, Part 1 of 12

(Thank You, Master.) No. Thank you! (Thank You.) (Thank You for coming to Hsihu and for being so good to the villagers here.) (Yes.) Thank you. (We make business whenever we come here. Thank You, many thanks.) Thank you! (Thank You, thanks Master.) See you. (Thanks, everyone as well. Many thanks, thank You.) Thank you. (Oh, Master can speak Hakka?) Just a little bit. What are you selling? (This and this.) You are selling this. Which one? Which one do you want me to buy? (It’s up to You.) Which one is not selling well? Is it this one or this one? Or that one? (It’s up to You.) Did the initiates come out to buy it? They said they did? (They would.) Did they buy it from you? (They would come out to buy.) (These aren’t sold yet.) Right, not yet. But would they normally buy it? (Yes, they would.) OK. Then I’ll buy a little bit, OK? This is very tasty. I am not going to buy all of them. Save some for others. Understand? (Yes.) (Just buy them all.) Just buy them all? What are they going to do if there’s nothing left when they come out? (As soon as it’s sold out. I can call it a day and go home.) You want to go home, OK. How many? How much? Pay her. (OK.) Note it down. (Yes.) Count how much is left in your wallet after you pay, (Yes.) then you know how much I owe you. (Yes.) It’s time to go. We’ll take the car. Here you come again. (Master, I am also here!) I have bought it just now. (Sorry, please buy some.) I can't buy them all. I don't have have enough space. (Just a little.) What are these? (Corns. They are roasted.) Corns again? (Yes.) We just bought a lot. (Master, You also speak Aulacese [Vietnamese]? I am Aulacese [Vietnamese].) Ah, Aulacese (Vietnamese)? Oh! (I am Aulacese [Vietnamese].) New citizen. Aulacese (Vietnamese)? (You see, Master understood.) (No, Master did not understand. I’ve just spoken Aulacese [Vietnamese], but Master did not understand.) I understood, why didn’t I? (Master understood.) (I just told Master to buy things from me, but You ignored me.) Didn’t I buy it? (She said You ignored her.) I did buy some. (Yes, you did. You bought peanuts.) No, I bought some peanuts already. (Yes, she said You... I told her. I told her Master is Aulacese [Vietnamese], and Master understood Aulacese [Vietnamese].) OK, I don’t have this. I’d like to buy this. OK, how many now? How much are these? (Oh, Mây, please say that is from another vendor.) (These are theirs. I only have corns.) These are not yours? (No.) Are these yours? (Yes, corns are mine.) OK, we will buy some more. (I am still eating.) Twelve. (Twelve. OK. Thank You.) Twelve. OK. (Twelve.) (Wei.) (Twelve.) Four, twelve already. (Yes, twelve.) (Oh, this is the first time I see You, Master.) I can sing Aulacese (Vietnamese). (I see You passing by here every day, but today…) Four, eight. (Nine, ten, eleven, twelve.) I can sing Aulacese (Vietnamese) also. (First time I see Her. Oh, my legs and my hands are shaking.) She said she’s shaky. She said she’s shaky. (No, today is my first time seeing Her...) Twelve? (Seeing Supreme Master Ching Hai in person.) How come it is the first time? (No, every... I live just down there.) Yes? (Today is my first time seeing You.) So beautiful. Aulacese (Vietnamese), so beautiful. (Today is my first time seeing You.) Can you sing Aulacese (Vietnamese) songs? (Yes!) Which song? (It’s my first time to see Master. I am so happy.) Which song? She said she has goose bumps. Why? I am just buying vegetables. (No. My heart is beating fast. Heart is beating fast.) OK. How much? Oh, we can't buy anymore because we have to go back to the gathering. (Time to go back.) (Twelve. How much each?) (NT$40 each.) (NT$40.) (Four times 12, NT$480.) OK. I am going back to the gathering, OK? (OK.) What kind… (Thank You, Master.) Some… which song can you sing? (…which song can we sing?) Roads of Vietnam, you know that song? (I don’t know how to sing that song.) (I forgot how to sing that song. I live here quite long, so I forget it all.) Say it again. Which song? Which song can you sing? Which song? (Now, I don’t remember at all. I am so happy to remember anything.) So how come you said that I don’t understand. (So happy…) She said she’s worried I don’t understand Aulacese (Vietnamese). I said, “Do you know any Aulacese (Vietnamese) song?” She said, “Nothing. Don’t remember.” OK. I am sorry, guys. (Master, my vegetables are very good.) Thank you! (Master, these were grown in straw.) OK. Thank you. Because… (These were completely grown in straw.) I see. Then I’ll take those that are readily prepared. (OK. I will just take NT$100.) OK. NT$100 each, so four of them are NT$400. (No. NT$100 will do.) That’s impossible. (No. I don’t want to charge so much.) So cheap. (These were grown in straw.) Grown in straws. (It’s organic.) Thank you. I like it. (Also beans and all others. We’re still picking. You see, there are a lot of straws.) I like it. It’s OK. Thank you. (Thank You.) The straws are also edible. (It’s grown in straws. Do You still want this?) That will do. OK. I’ve got to go now. I need to go to the gathering. They are waiting. How about I come by another day and start buying from this side, OK? I haven’t bought it from there. Thank you. Sorry. I must go to the gathering. OK. Thank you. (Thank You. See You.) (Did we pay you?) (Yes.) (Goodbye, goodbye. Thank You. Thank You, Master.) How do you say goodbye in Hokkien? (Goodbye.) (Goodbye.) “Goodbye?” Just like the Taiwanese (Formosan)? Goodbye. Thank you. Goodbye. (Goodbye, goodbye.) Bye-bye. See you later. Hallo. Where should I go? (Turn right, Master.) Turn right. Hallo there. Hallo. Turn right? This way? (Yes.) Hallo, everybody. (Hallo, Master. Master is so beautiful.) Hallo everyone! (Hallo Master!) You brought the sun here. We had a lot of rain yesterday. You should come often and we will have more sun here. (OK.) Where should I walk? People love me everywhere. Which way? Right or left? Who wants to say it first? (Left.) (Right.) A voice vote is faster. (Hallo Master!) Hallo everyone! (Master doesn’t get old. Hallo Master!) OK. Thank you. How is everyone? (Good.) Has the weather been good? (Yes.) OK. (Master, I love You.) Love you. (Master, I love You.) (Master is so beautiful!) You are beautiful. (Master is so beautiful.) (Hallo Master!) Thank you. Thank you. (Master is really beautiful!) (Master is beautiful.) (So beautiful.) How is everyone? (Good.) I love you very much. (I love You too.) Thanks for coming. (Master is so beautiful.) Thank you. Are the mainland Chinese still here? (Yes.) In the front. They are all here. Great! They let you sit in the front. Very kind. Oh, what should I do? This is a lot of walking for me. I can never walk around enough for you. (Master, I love You.) Love you, love you. Love you. I love you. I love you. Love you. (Master is so beautiful.) Love you. Love you. (Hallo Master!) (Master is so beautiful!) (Hallo Master!) You look beautiful. Your hat is pretty. Thank you. Thank you. (Hallo Master!) I love you. (I love You.) I love you very much. (Master, I love You.) (Master is beautiful!) Thank you. (Hallo Master!) (Thank You.) Is everyone OK? (I love You.) I haven't walked through here, have I? (Master, I love You.) Love you. (Master is beautiful.) I will go there later. Have a look. (Hallo Master! I love You.) Love you. Love you. (Hallo Master!) Why are you all here? Someone asked you not to leave? (Hallo Master!) We need to turn back. (Hallo Master!) Hallo! (Hallo Master!) I love you. (I love You.) Love you. (Master is so beautiful!) Thank you. Thank you. Hallo, how is everyone? (Master is so beautiful!) How are you? (Fine.) It’s warm. Do you feel cold? (No.) You don’t? Yeah, good, good. Thank you. Thank you for coming. Thank you. Oh! It’s better to be a man. Yes, you have more space. You can sit farther apart. That’s not bad. (Master has been working hard.) No, no. I am happy. Work is busy but it’s not hard. (OK.) It’s not hard. (Hallo Master.) Very good. (Hallo Master.) Are you OK sitting there? (Yes.) Were you assigned to sit there? Or did you volunteer? Volunteered, right? To see the old places. Wow! Is it OK here? (Yes.) You can squeeze together if it rains, right? (Yes.) OK. Wonderful! We don’t need to build an ashram, do we? There is no need. It’s good like this. The air is good, right? (Yes.) As long as we do this every day…on Sundays, it’s fine. It rained a lot yesterday. I am thinking of moving our "capital" to somewhere more sunny, such as Pingtung and Kaohsiung. But their centers are smaller. Let’s see if they can host us. Where are you from? (Pingtung.) There may be some odor over there. (A little.) A little. I did ask them to get ready in case we come. The place is bigger. Kaohsiung is smaller. It’s beautiful but smaller. There isn’t enough space for everyone to sit. OK? Have you seen me? (Hallo Master!) Hallo! Have you seen me? (Yes.) OK. OK. I will walk this way. (Hallo Master!) How are you? Hallo everyone! I love you guys. I love you guys very much. (Hallo Master!) Love you very much. Thanks for coming to see me. Thank you. Thank you. (Hallo Master!) Thank you. Enough. Have you seen me? I am the same as yesterday and the day before. I will walk that way later. (Hallo Master!) Are all the kids there? (Yes.) OK. I will go there later. OK? I don’t feel cold at all. Many people asked if I do any exercise. I said, “No, I don’t need to exercise. My dogs give me enough exercise. And when you come, I exercise a lot too.” OK? Thank you. Thank you for coming to see me. (Hallo Master!) Thank you. Hallo everyone! (Master, I love You.) Love you. I love you. (Master, I love You.) Love you. Love you. Thank you. (Master, I love You.) Love you. Love you. (Master, You are so beautiful.) I love You. I love you. Thank you. (Master, I love You.) I love you. Love you. (Thank You.) Thank you. Korean, huh? Korean, yes? (Yes.) Korean. Only Korean, nobody else? Oh, you came back. You stay here? I hardly see you. Where have you been? Sometimes I see you here. But you come up there also sometimes? OK.

Buddhist Stories: “The Hundred-Headed Fish," "The Peaceful Heaven Being's Deeds," and "The Trayastrimsa Heaven Gatherings," Part 7 of 8

So anyone who dies who hasn’t done good deeds or done bad deeds, then this is the time of judgment. If you help them, the living beings help them, pray for them or reciting sutra, Buddha’s sutra, do any good things and tell them good stuff, from the living Master as well, then it’s good, better for them. Then their sin will be minimized and they might be liberated accordingly. So this kind of Uninterrupted Hell, meaning never have a break like that. “So, when that happened, the Brahman woman,” the virtuous Brahman woman, “knowing that her mother had not believed in cause and effect while alive, feared that her bad karma would certainly pull her into the evil paths. For that reason, she sold the family house and acquired many kinds of incense, flowers and other gifts. With those, she performed a great offering in that Buddha’s stupas and monasteries. She saw an especially fine image of the Thus Come One Enlightenment-Flower Samadhi Self-Mastery King in one of the monasteries.” Just an image, just a statue. It just says, “especially fine image” so it might not be a statue. Let’s read on. “As the Brahman woman beheld the honored countenance, she became doubly respectful while thinking to herself.” Probably in a vision, image, vision. “‘Buddhas,’” she thought to herself, “‘Buddhas are called Greatly Enlightened Ones who have gained All-Wisdom. If this Buddha were in the world, I could ask Him where my mother went after she died. He would certainly know.’” Meaning, then, the Buddha was already in Nirvana. “The Brahman woman then wept for a long, long time as she gazed lovingly upon the Thus Come One.” So probably it was an image, it was a statue. Why don’t they just say statue, (it’s) easier for me. What do I know? I wasn’t there. So she gazed lovingly onto the image of that Buddha, thinking, “If He were still in this world, I would be able to ask Him where my mother went.” And she knew the Buddha was not there anymore, so she wept, she wept of feeling frustrated and hopeless. That’s why she cried and cried. “And then suddenly, she heard a voice from the space saying, ‘Oh, weeping, worthy woman, do not be so sorrowful. I shall now show you where your mother has gone.’” Probably she was so sincere, so the past Buddha talked to her. Or maybe one of the guardian gods. When we are sincere, we are more connected to protective councils or whoever is responsible for this field that you are praying to. “The Brahman woman placed her palms together as she addressed space, the empty space, and said, ‘Who is it the one with spiritual virtue, comforting me in my grief? From the day I lost my mother onward, I have held her in memory day and night, but there is nowhere I can go to ask about the realm of her rebirth.’ So the voice in the space spoke to the woman again, ‘I am the one you are beholding and worshipping.’” So that is the Buddha, the Buddha statue. “‘The former Enlightenment-Flower Samadhi Self-Mastery King Thus Come One. Because I have seen your regard for your mother is double that of ordinary beings, so I have come to show you where she is.’ The Brahman woman suddenly lunged toward the voice she was hearing, and then fell, injuring herself severely.” She was trying so quickly to find out where the voice (was), so she fell down. “Those around her supported and attended upon her, and after a long time, she was revived. Then, she addressed space, saying, ‘I hope the Buddha will be compassionate and quickly tell me into what realm my mother has been reborn. I am now near my death myself.’ Enlightenment-Flower Samadhi Self-Mastery King Thus Come One of the past told the worthy woman.” The Buddha Shakyamuni has even ten titles, more than that. But sometimes, most people just address Him as “Thus Come One,” or “World Honored One,” or “Buddha,” or “Arhant.” Even they address Him also, one of His titles is Arhant. “So, the past Buddha appeared through the voice, told the worthy woman, ‘After you make your offerings, return home quickly. Sit upright and concentrate on my name. You will soon know where your mother has been reborn.’ So the Brahman woman bowed to the Buddha,” the space, there’s no one there, just a voice. “She bowed to the Buddha with that voice and then returned home. The memory of her mother sustained her as she sat upright, recollecting Enlightenment-Flower Samadhi Self-Mastery King Thus Come One. After doing so for a day and a night, she suddenly saw herself beside a sea whose waters seethed and bubbled.” It’s always the sea, huh? Last time, the Maudgalyayana also took his old disciple to the sea. It seems like hell is next to the sea. And we could not even buy an ashram near the sea, so that you can take a shower sometimes. Up to now not, because mostly, the sea is overcrowded, next to the beach, always crowded with people (and) apartments, always. But for us, it’s very difficult to find. “She saw herself on the sea that seethed and bubbled. Many evil beasts with iron bodies flew swiftly back and forth above the sea. She saw hundreds of thousands of men and women bobbing up and down in the sea, being fought over, seized, and eaten by the evil beasts. She saw yakshas with different shapes.” Some of the ghosts or evil spirits. “Some had many hands, some many eyes, some many legs, some many heads. With their sharp fangs, they drove the offenders on towards the evil beasts.” You know, pushing them there, for them to eat. “All the yakshas themselves seized the offenders and twisted their heads and feet together into shapes so horrible that no one would dare even look at them for long. During that time, the Brahman woman was naturally without fear due to the power of recollecting the Buddha’s name. A Ghost King named Poisonless bowed his head in greeting and said to the worthy woman, ‘Welcome, oh Bodhisattva. What conditions bring you here?’ The Brahman woman asked the Ghost King, ‘What is this place?’ Poisonless King replied, ‘We are on the western side of the Great Iron Ring Mountain, and this is the first of the seas that encircle it.’ The worthy woman said, ‘I have heard that the hells are within the Iron Ring. Is that actually so?’ Poisonless King answered, ‘Yes, the hells are here.’ The worthy woman asked, ‘How have I now come to the hells? Why am I here?’ So the Poisonless,” means the king of one of these hells “– answered.” So he’s kind. He called her Bodhisattva and why did she come here and all; he was very kind. So the king of some of the ghosts and all that, as I told you before, must not mean that they are bad. They just have to govern that part of the universe. So that (they) make sure the ghosts and the devils don’t harm just any beings, just the bad ones, but not touch the good ones. They have to have law and order as well. “So, the woman asked, ‘How come I am here in hells?’ So the Poisonless answered, ‘If it wasn’t awesome spiritual strength that brought you here, then it was the power of bad karma. Those are the only two ways anyone can come here.’ The worthy woman asked, ‘Why is this water seething and bubbling? And why are there so many offenders and evil beasts?’ Poisonless replied, ‘These are beings of Jambudvipa who did evil deeds.’” Almost like Samsara, means from the Earth, come down. “‘They did evil deeds. They have just died and passed through 49 days without any surviving relatives doing any meritorious deeds on their behalf to rescue them from their distress.’” For 49 days and nights, if you have relatives (who) died, you should meditate, pray for them, reciting good sutras, or Master’s teachings, or put the tapes on for them. Don’t cry. Don’t make too much festival, whatever kind. Don’t (be) busy with all that. Have to make offerings to the Buddhas, or recite the sutra for them, and pray for them. Understand? (Yes.) Because the 49 days, that’s the time… If they’re good people, or people with a Master, then they go to Heaven immediately already. But the 49-day period is allowed, so anyone who dies who hasn’t done good deeds or done bad deeds, then this is the time of judgment. If you help them, the living beings help them, pray for them or reciting sutra, Buddha’s sutra, do any good things and tell them good stuff, from the living Master as well, then it’s good, better for them. Then their sin will be minimized and they might be liberated accordingly. Don’t sit there and cry and cling to the body. That’s useless for them, helpless, even harmful. Especially if you kill animals to feed or offering to them, then it’s worse, worse, worse. You make their sin worse, their karma worse. So even if they were about to be liberated from suffering, they would stay there longer, or they would have more suffering because you kill animals to make offering to them. Understand? (Yes.) Every time you do that, their karma gets worse, they get more punishment in hell. And even if somebody is in Heaven, and if you kill animals as offering to them or on their behalf, their Heaven status is lower. And then maybe keep (going) lower and lower until maybe they cannot stay in Heaven anymore. Then they have to be reborn again and go somewhere accordingly. So, besides that, “During their lives, they themselves didn’t plant any good causes. Now, their own bad karma calls forth these hells.” They attract the hells to them. They didn’t fall to hell; they attracted the hell to come to them even. “They call forth these hells. Their first task is to cross this sea. Ten thousand yojanas east of this sea is another sea in which they will undergo twice as much suffering. East of that sea is yet another sea where the sufferings are doubled still again. What the combined evil causes of the three karmic vehicles evoke is called ‘the sea of karma.’” This is that place, the sea of karma. This is the place where the woman is now. “The worthy woman asked the Ghost King Poisonless, ‘Where are the hells?’ Poisonless answered, ‘Within the three seas are hundreds of thousands of great hells, each one different. Eighteen of those are known as the great hells. Five hundred subsequent ones inflict limitless cruel sufferings. Following those are hundreds of thousands that inflict limitless further sufferings.’ The worthy woman again questioned the great Ghost King, ‘My mother died recently and I do not know where she has gone.’ The Ghost King asked the worthy woman, ‘When the Bodhisattva’s mother was alive, what habits did she have?’” Even the Ghost King couldn’t tell right away who is where, you see? They have to check according to the information. “The worthy woman replied, ‘My mother held deviant views and ridiculed and slandered the Triple Jewels,’” means the Buddha, Sangha and Dharma. “‘Even if she occasionally believed, she would soon become disrespectful again. She died recently, and I still do not know where she was reborn.’ Poisonless asked, ‘What was the Bodhisattva’s mother’s name and clan?’” Still have ID, huh? In hell, we need ID to find somebody. It’s too much, too countless beings. I guess even the king doesn’t have the book of the names. “So the worthy woman replied, ‘My parents were both Brahmans. My father’s name was Shila Sudarshana, my mother’s name was Yue Di Li.’” Sounds like Chinese to me. “Poisonless placed his palms together and implored the worthy woman, ‘Please, Worthy One …’” He’s so respectful, huh? He knew she was good. He even called her Bodhisattva. And he put his palms together and said, “‘Worthy One, please return home. There is no need for you to grieve further. The offender Yue Di Li was born in the Heavens three days ago. It is said that she received the benefit of offerings made and blessings cultivated by her filial child who practiced giving to Enlightenment-Flower Samadhi Self-Mastery King Thus Come One at His stupas and monasteries.’” The Buddha passed away long ago already, but she made offering only to the statues and the monastery, probably to the monks who believed in Him. “‘Not only was the Bodhisattva’s mother released from the hells, all the other offenders who were destined for the Uninterrupted Hell received bliss and were reborn together with her in Heaven.’ Having finished speaking, the Ghost King put his palms together and withdrew,” gone. “The Brahman woman returned swiftly as if from a dream, understood what had happened and then made a profound and far-reaching vow before the stupas and images of Enlightenment-Flower Samadhi Self-Mastery King Thus Come One, saying, ‘I vow that until the end of future eons, I will respond to beings suffering for their offenses by using many expedient devices to bring about their liberation.’ The Buddha told Manjusri, ‘The Ghost King Poisonless is the present Bodhisattva Foremost Wealth.’” In His assembly. “‘The Brahman woman is now Earth Store Bodhisattva.’” Even the ghost king can become Bodhisattva Foremost Wealth. The Brahman woman is now Earth Store Bodhisattva. These are all translated names from Sanskrit. You know, the meaning is like that. So they just translated the meaning. It was a good story; (Yes.) thanks for listening. Incredible story. I like very much. My first Bodhisattva was Quan Yin Bodhisattva, from my childhood then. And my second one, when I was in the West, in Germany, was Earth Store Bodhisattva. I worshipped Them. And also, I have other pictures of other Buddhas. You can’t always get whatever you want, the Buddha, in the West. But I liked Earth Store Bodhisattva very much. I loved Him for the vow He made and for the sacrifice He made, for what He is doing, and has been doing and is doing, and will be doing for beings, so I worshipped Him in my house. And Quan Yin Bodhisattva, of course, is always there. And then I cannot get Shakyamuni Buddha, so I just worship Earth Store Bodhisattva. And then I have, also, images of other Buddhas behind, like a picture. And my husband was good; he’d bring flowers to Them, my ex-husband. He liked Buddhism. But he didn’t know much, he just liked. It seemed more peaceful to him, non-violent, no competitiveness. That’s taught in Buddhism, and he liked it. I let you go eating, and if something’s good, we’ll come back. (Yes.) I will continue if you want to, later. (Yes.) (Yes, Master.) Yeah, it’s more comfortable for me to read straight from English, instead of translation and explaining at the same time. It’s kind of, a little bit more stressful, manageable but more stressful. OK, see you later. (Thank You, Master.)

Multe persoane nu au serviciu, bine? (Da.)

Buddhist Stories: “The Hundred-Headed Fish," "The Peaceful Heaven Being's Deeds," and "The Trayastrimsa Heaven Gatherings," Part 3 of 8

Because if you keep the precepts, then the precepts will avoid you making bad karma in the future. For example, if you keep the precept of not harming others, not killing, then life after life, it depends on how many lives or how clean you keep the precept, you will not get sick. “So Kapila listened to his mother…” Oh God, what a mother is for! “And then whenever he discussed or debated with the monks, and then when he lost of course on this topic, then he screamed and scolded them and degraded them, ‘You are a stupid person. You are just animals. You know nothing!’ And then he called them like, ‘You’re just like a dog’s head or pig’s head or this animal’s head or that animal’s head,’” meaning stupid, no brain, little brain, something like that. “So every time he was very, very fiercely scolding the monks like that. In this phase of the story, the Buddha reminded everyone that, ‘Ananda, you should know that Ca Tỳ Lê (Kapila), because of his wickedness inside his heart, and has been yelling and defaming the monks at that time, therefore he has become the fish with 100 different animals’ heads on his body.’ And then Ananda asked the Buddha, ‘Praised, the World Honored One, Ca Tỳ Lê (Kapila), when will he be able to liberate himself, be liberated from this fishy, hundred-head fish?’ So the Buddha said, ‘Ananda, you should know, even if I use my Buddha Wisdom Eye to check, it’s a long, long, long time still. Maybe in the gentle era when the Buddha comes out, when 1,000 Buddhas already passed away,’” meaning after Him, “‘and then 1,000 Buddhas also come out to the world and then pass away already, still not yet. Still this Ca Tỳ Lê (Kapila) will not be liberated from this kind of incarnation as a fish with 100 heads.’ After I and all the bhiksus heard that,” “I” means Ananda, “All of us had goosebumps and trembled with fear, also were feeling so sorry, so pitiful. And we all said, ‘Please, all beings, take care of your actions, your speech, and your thoughts. Be very careful what you think, what you say, what you do. Always be good, do good, think good.’ After the Buddha and the sangha talked with each other as thus, all the 500 fishermen and 500 cowboys, they were all also very scared. They all knelt down, put their palms together and wanted to become monks under His guidance. So of course the Buddha said, ‘Welcome, bhiksus.’” So He had another 1,000 monks. Wow, the riverbank is big! Otherwise, how can they sit all together like that and kneel in front of Him? A thousand people kneel in front of Him at the same time, including other many thousands of monks already kneeling there. Maybe we should find a riverbank somewhere. We just buy a generator to get electricity. But in that case can we have Internet, broadband like this in order to broadcast the whole world, or not? No, huh? Yes, no? No, yes? Yes? (Maybe.) Maybe? (Yes.) How? (Wireless.) Wireless? You mean the chip? (They have 4G everywhere.) Everywhere, meaning Asia also? (In Asia, in some countries.) Around here because we have cable. (Yeah.) Official connection Internet. But if we have just Internet card, Internet chip, is that good enough? (Can be.) I don’t know. In one of the countries where there is no electricity or water, I told you we have Internet chip, but it’s so difficult, so slow just to download a little, one page of information. Picture, forget it. And had to go all the way on the road. Not on my mountain, cannot. Have to go all the way down to the main, big… not really big road, but the country road for that community. And maybe you can. And if I want to telephone, sometimes I have to go and… “Ah, OK, OK. Oh, no, it’s not OK!” I go all over the place, and looking at the telephone, cannot even talk, keep looking, keep looking for the bars. Yeah, I’m telling you. And if I text sometime, I’ve told you already, if I’m too excited or forget or my dog comes “wow-wow,” and then I forget, I push the wrong button – everything gone. But that’s not too bad, the buttons sometimes I try to remember. But if those iPod, (iPad.) iPhone, just breathe and it’s gone. Like I look here and I scratch my head, then it’s gone. Just wave your hand, then it’s gone. No, I exaggerate. I exaggerate it. But it’s so difficult. Normally you just swipe your hand and then something changes. Sometimes I don’t know, and I just want to scratch here. Then, the phone thinks I swipe my hand and then everything’s gone. I have to begin all over again. And it was already difficult for me to begin before. I did learn some computer before, a little bit how-to, before, when we had SMTV, Supreme Master TV. I have to check most of the news and stuff when I can. So I learned how to take out the information, but I couldn’t send it back. So I had to write it down, “OK, page one, paragraph two,” then I’d write the whole sentence and I’d put the correction on it. And then after I collected all the corrections, then I ask one of your brothers to come and send it. “And these 1,000 people -- 500 fishermen and 500 cowboys followed the Buddha, became monks, and not too long afterwards, they cleansed all their (bad) karma and they attained Arhant Level. For the sake of the big assembly, the Buddha taught them again about the Four Noble Truths, like, to be born, to die, to be old, and to suffer during the lifetime, and how to erase the suffering, the path to erase the suffering.” That’s another long story. Like one of the Eight Ways of Purification I told you before, that’s one of the ways to erase suffering and not to be born again. Or to be born but be in a very, very high position, prosperous, happy, happy, etc. Because if you keep the precepts, then the precepts will avoid you making bad karma in the future. For example, if you keep the precept of not harming others, not killing, then life after life, it depends on how many lives or how clean you keep the precept, you will not get sick. You might die of course one day, but during the lifetime you won’t get sick. Or if you keep the precept of non-stealing, then nobody, no robber will ever touch your house, for example like that. Every precept has a consequence, a good, good, good karma to bring with (it). Anybody wants to hear some more stories? (Everybody.) How many? Raise hands. (Everybody.) This is a better story, for a change. And then maybe after I’ll read that. “Thus I have heard,” it’s a story from Ananda “computer” again. “One time, the Buddha stayed in Xá Vệ (Sravasti) country in the golden garden of Cấp Cô Độc (Anathapindika) and the Prince Kỳ Đà (Jeta).” Remember? Remember the garden? Yes or no? (Yes.) How many yes? Only three, four? The garden of the Prince Kỳ Đà (Jeta), that the billionaire has to use the gold (gold bricks.) to pave it. Yeah, gold brick, gold bars to pave it, if he wants to buy that garden. Why bother? In Africa, five million square meters (costs) only 500,000 euros. If he knew, he would go there and buy instead. Instead of taking all the gold reserves from your bank and pave that garden, he would go to Africa or some other country that’s cheaper, Siberia, whatever. It’s cheaper, right? (Yes.) In some of the countries they give you land for free, so that you go develop their land. I know one of it, not Venezuela, somewhere nearby, not Honduras. I forgot, I was there before, I forgot. (Belize?) Belize, for example. They give you land for free. But over there they don’t have soya sauce, they don’t have… Very little things, they sell small, small, in a small little hut. Even Chinese shop I asked, “Do you have any tofu?” “Umm.” So I said, “What do you cook around here?” They said, “We cook whatever the land offers.” If they want to buy tofu sometimes they have to go across to go to Mexico or America. Maybe you go to Belize. Ask the government to give us some free land. They’ll bring tofu, soya sauce; we’ll bring everything inside. Everybody can enjoy together. All right. I don’t know, it’s not like you just have land, you must also have some affinity with it. And any land has to offer us some freedom, freedom of speech, to gather without hindrance. Otherwise, it’s not about land. OK, this time we’re going to Heaven, not on Earth anymore. This chapter is about a Heaven called Tịnh Cư Thiên (Zuddhàvàsa). Maybe, I think, a very peaceful Heaven. If it is according to this word, means peaceful Heaven. “‘Thus I have heard.’ At one time the Buddha, in the same country Xá Vệ (Sravasti), in the golden garden of the Prince Kỳ Đà (Jeta). At that time, one day about evening, suddenly there was a beam of Light from the Heaven shining down onto the whole garden. And inside this great shining Light, there was one being, very big, very handsome, very strong, and his body emitted like a diamond kind of aura. And he flew down inside where the Buddha resided, knelt down in front of Buddha and then he walked around the Buddha three times and then went back in front of Buddha and knelt there, knelt in front of the Buddha and said, ‘Praised be the Buddha. I am from the Heaven of Peace. I have heard that You came down to the planet Earth to save beings and bring them blessings also from Heaven. I thought it is very rare that the Buddha appears thus, so I am here with utmost respect and sincerity. Please accept my offering tomorrow that I can offer water and a vegan diet.’” Water for bath. In India, there are many thousand monks; that’s why the Buddha, one of the precepts for the monks is you don’t take a bath more than once every half a month, twice a month. Just to save the water. Just like here, you can’t bathe every day. Yeah, when you need really, but not everybody come and shower every day, my God! So we use a dry cleaning system, remember? I do the same, I do the same. But even if I take a shower, I use a bucket, a kind of low bucket and round. I stand in there so that all the water runs inside there, and I use it to flush the toilet. And I wash my hands also inside, and then I use it, so no problem. “He pleaded with the Buddha and the sangha to accept his offering of water for bath, shower, as well as vegan food. So the Buddha praised him that he had such sincerity, wanting to do meritorious deeds. So He accepted, the Buddha accepted. So this being flew back to his house, no, his home in Heaven, and he brought all the beautiful food and drinks from Heaven down to Earth. And then he brought a lot of facilities or anything that facilitates the shower and the bath. He brought it all down. And then the water, he even ... He brought all the clothes, bathrobes, towels, everything from Heaven down. And then he even manifested many bath houses, many shower houses, many rooms. And then he made the water already mixed well, not cold, not hot, just fine. With a thermometer, checked it out, how many degrees, it’s good. And then also, these things, even brought these grasses to brush your body. They use this kind of brush, different. Maybe they say grass to brush, but probably special grass, just like we use a brush nowadays. And then he even brought down oil, like body cream, first class, from Heaven’s supermarket, everything down. And then after he arranged everything, he came and invited the Buddha to take a shower. Of course, the sangha also, maybe. “And then after that the Buddha came back to His own room. Then he came to the Buddha and said, ‘Praised be the World Honored One; the vegan meal is all ready. Please come and enjoy.’ So after the Buddha and all the sangha finished their bath, put back their clothes and everything, they went out and enjoyed the vegan meal. Then they went back. After that, ‘tôi,’” means Ananda, means “I,” “I” means Ananda, “came in front of the Buddha and asked again.” How come no other sangha ever asks Him? Always Ananda asks. I guess other people don’t dare, so they put down a note, and say, “Ananda, go ask, for me. For me. You are the assistant of Buddha, go ask.”

Fiecare limbă, fiecare cuvânt, are un simbol, invizibil. De aceea, vă spun, fiţi puri în vorbă, da? Pentru că are un impact asupra oamenilor care aud, şi are o însemnătate adevărată.
