“We are having shortages of food at present due to the climate, COVID and tons of other reasons. So let them contribute, not burden their countrymen and make bad examples for others, especially for the youth!” Host: During a work-related phone call with a Supreme Master Television team member on July 27, 2021, Supreme Master Ching Hai graciously took time to answer some questions regarding a few current events. As it was spontaneous, we didn’t record the conversation properly. Thus, it is not suitable for airing. We sincerely apologize and offer our respected viewers this summary, along with a voice-over reading of the transcribable parts from Master’s replies, picked up faintly in some parts by a nearby mobile phone. VO: Upon being asked how She has been doing, Master said that She was OK but very busy, taking care of many things every day: not just Supreme Master Television, but also numerous other matters and issues, ranging from businesses to people’s varied temperaments. Master said that even with the pandemic which also affects Her ventures’ income, a lot of funds are still being given out by Her all the time, and there are many monthly and other expenses that need to be taken care of. Master is living alone and very simply, at present in a 2 by 4 meter room. It is a space that would be sufficient in case She needed to take care of Her dogs. (Her desk is the same as how we saw it before, with all the cables and wires running all over it!) She also mentioned that it was encouraging for Her to hear some good news from around the world. For example, the Northern and Southern parts of Korea have taken peaceful, positive steps by resuming communication and agreeing to improve ties. Also, some rich patrons invested in a new vegan production company, plus vegan food and the vegan trend are growing so fast! Master then asked if there were any other questions. Q(m): Yes, there are. In California, a law called Proposition 47 requires some certain serious crimes to be charged as less serious ones, with the consequence that criminals are openly committing acts of theft without fear of prosecution. For example, one would have to steal over US$950 of goods from a store to commit a felony and thus have the police be interested in arresting the suspect. Below this amount, it is a misdemeanor and not considered worth the time of the police and prosecutors to arrest and convict the individual. What does Master think of this law? VO: Master answered that even misdemeanors, meaning minor crimes like theft, are unlawful, and could lead to worse, more serious felonies. (Investigators say Joseph Espinoza and his accomplices pulled up in an SUV, trying to rob Nick and his friend as they stood outside, before Espinoza allegedly fired several shots.) (He was shot in the back of the head, running away.) (Just hours before the deadly shooting, Fresno Police say officers found Espinoza and his friend, Jose Figueroa, in a room at Motel 6 on North Blackstone. They arrested Figueroa on gun charges and found methamphetamine on Espinoza.) (But instead of being booked into jail for a felony, under Proposition 47, he was issued a misdemeanor citation for that charge.) (Prop 47 did kill my son.) VO: Thus, governments should not be encouraging lawless behavior, which might cause other states’ or countries’ people to think that misdemeanors are acceptable. Also, after the California law was implemented, many small businesses and people have suffered from an increase in thefts; in some worse cases, businesses were forced to close, maybe due to fear of attack, and loss of income. Master said this is not right and so She does not agree with this law. In Master’s words: “… They take anything they want and run out. (Yes.) Just like that. That is not a good example for anybody. (No.) Especially for the children. You see that. (That’s right.) Maybe the prison is full, but they can build another kind of prison. (Yes.) Don’t have to keep moving them to the extremist prison. They can build a more simple prison for the very light kind of misdemeanors, they call it, right? (Yes, misdemeanor.) And then make a job in there, create a business to sell, to give them work. (Yes.) … (Yes, that’s right.) Make kind of a company, and all the misdemeanor people have to work there to earn their keep.” (Yes.) (We take the freedom from them, but when they are here, we try to help them, to get better citizens.) (Inmates have a normal work week, giving them routine and responsibilities. Training to be car mechanics, and graphic designers in a state-of-the-art studio.) (From the City Hall, we’re getting jobs from them.) (Learning skills like restaurant prep (where they’re trusted to handle knives) can help them get jobs on the outside.) (Before, I’d think more like a criminal. But now I start to think more like a normal guy.) In Master’s words: “They cannot, just because the prison is full, tell people to go out and steal. That is against society’s principle. That will lower people’s dignity, and create a chaotic, unsafe living environment. You cannot just live freely, stealing people’s property like that. And then in the meantime, you are even defunding the police, telling people to not buy guns and all that. No wonder crimes soared up. Because it is all contradictory. The business owners have to pay taxes, have to pay their employees, employees’ insurance, bonuses, vacations, etc. (Right.) They also have their families, children to take care of too! They must pay for all kinds of insurance, mortgages, school fees, and hundreds of other things. The government is responsible for the poor, not shoving this burden to private citizens, who already contribute for this through tax payment! How can they live being robbed anytime without protection from the police and authorities!? (Yes.) On top of that, they are not allowed to have guns for defense. (Not that I support guns, but the poor hapless people will be forced to resort to this means of defense, thus create a more beyond-control violent society!!!) It’s absolutely against logic, morals and any society’s safety standard. I hope they will change this harmful law! I mean, people have to survive. (Yes.) I mean the good people, the hardworking kind. (That’s right.) The backbone of society… Shop owners risking their capital to open a business, they must earn their money. And if the shop’s items are always being stolen like that, the business will be out, then consequently the employees, the good kind of people, will be fired. And then he has no money, and then what to do? Copy that thief. (Yes.) Maybe because they have no job. Or maybe because they say, ‘Oh, what the heck, why not?’ (Yes.) They work very hard. And that guy who does nothing, can come in and take everything he likes. ‘Why the heck I don’t do the same?’ See what I’m saying? (That’s right.) It’s a very bad, bad, bad example. Don’t you think so?” (I agree, I mean it creates like a ripple effect.) “Yeah!” (If one person does it, the others think, “Ah, it’s OK.” And this is not good.) “Sure! Even in Europe they saw all of that.” (Yes.) “It has this very bad reputation, for whatever county of the United States, or state, or country. You cannot teach people to be immoral and bad, and then expect the whole nation to be safe and sound! Especially the USA, the country that people look up to! Imagine being called the country of thieves! What an ‘honorable’ name for its citizens! (Yes.) Suppose the thieves came into any of these lawmakers’ homes. I don’t think the lawmakers would be welcoming and say, ‘OK, take my daughter’s bicycle, take my son’s computer. (Right.) Take my best suit. Help yourself, take anything you want, they’re less than US$950.’ I don’t think any of these lawmakers would do that. (No.) It’s not just about the stolen goods, but about how long can any shop owner keep their cool over this. And then one day, he might lose it. And then there will be more violence. It’s about people’s peace and people’s lives. Can you see that clearly?” (Yes.) How long can any shop owner afford it? Without businesses, there will be no taxes for the government to exist. So the Proposition 47 law is just like biting the hands that feed them.” (Mr. Lý is the manager at the Mobile Mart on Union and 19th Street downtown. He also dabbles in criminal art, with a portrait of shoplifters on his wall. But he says it’s gotten much worse the past two years.) (We just caught another one!) (Like when? Today?) (Yeah, about 10 minutes ago.) (He has dozens of video clips of people trying to slip items into their pockets and pants. However, Mr. Lý believes he’s only catching about 20% of them.) (How often do people come in and create problems in the store?) (Every day. Every single day.) (It’s not an exaggeration. While the interview was underway, customers were filling their pockets with merchandise and just walking out of the store.) (Is shoplifting an issue?) (Oh, yeah. They decriminalized petty theft in California. So, it happens every few minutes. Literally in our store, probably 15-20 times a day.) (20 times a day?) (Oh, yeah.) (Businesses say rampant and brazen thefts, many tied to larger criminal fencing operations, are escalating at a rate they’ve never seen before, people walking out of big and small stores with whatever they want.) (That Walgreens over there got marked as a store that you could walk in and steal stuff.) In Master’s words: “And another thing: American people are well known for their generosity and giving charity. It is even reported that America donated the most for charity causes throughout the world. It’s one thing to give voluntarily with love. But it’s another thing to be robbed and just stand by helplessly like that. (Yes.) This really is abuse. And the people who come in to steal, how do we know they are poor and needy? They may not be. Because the police don’t check, nobody dares to check them. They are lawfully criminal… (Right.) Lawmakers live in safety and comfort anyway; completely different from ordinary, working-class people. They just want to have a good guy name, and they want to forget the poor like this. They are eating well and don’t really care. And then the youth will think all this thieving is OK (Yes.): ‘I don’t need to work extra to buy that CD, when I can just go in and take anything from a store. Nobody will do anything. They will just film me, but they won’t do anything about it.’ (Yes.) If this law continues, the shop owner won’t have any more income, he’ll become poor – and then what? Become a thief. And that breeds one more thief in society. Even in a communist society, the government tells people not to go out and steal, to not just take from others like that. The communists don’t do that. (That’s right.) With this kind of law, society will go down. Some people just don’t want to work and have to pay for things. Then the shop owner will be forced to close shop and maybe forced into stealing, adding one more thief to society, because of this kind of law.” (Walgreens has already closed some stores in San Francisco, citing theft problems, and last week, confirmed it’s closing another location in Oakland due to ongoing organized retail crime.) In Master’s words: “I told you I will not mince my words anymore. People have to know. Even if America is rotten, I say this for the rest of the world. Look at the church, the Roman Catholic Church, how nobody said anything and they covered up all the abuse. Children were killed. (Yes.) Everywhere, from the church to the government, they are rotten. They’re working for Satan. I tell you I am an angry Master. I’m an angry vegan Master. This law will just breed more violence. People today will steal things for US$900, and then tomorrow it will be more, US$2,000. There will never be an end to people’s greed if you just let them loose like that. Normally, people will not think of stealing. If it is so easy just to go into any store and take things like that, then there is no use of opening shop anymore. (Right.) It’s too tempting for even the good ones. In the long run, the whole nation will be encouraged to be thieves because it’s too easy to get things for free and not have to work. Since more than a year especially, already the people in America have to suffer, because of arson, because of burning houses, because of looting businesses from big shot-encouraged protesters.” (People will do what they do.) (Oh, my!) (I don’t think that’s fair for us because we are small business owners.) (The store was broken into two more times. Each time, Williams had to come out of his own pocket to restock.) (A lot of my own people say, “Oh, she ain’t to worry about that, she’s got insurance.” People don't know how insurance works. I haven’t got paid for insurance yet.) (In some cases, buildings were burned, never to reopen, or remain boarded up months later while owners try to recoup their losses.) (So far, I think we’ve lost about ten businesses.) (I’d never seen violence like that before. They ended up pulling my mom out of the car and they attacked her, and they broke her leg, and they broke her nose.) (It’s not clear if her parents will ever feel safe enough to reopen their humble neighborhood shop.) In Master’s words: “Because of COVID-19, many businesses had to close already. And then if they have to suffer like this, it is truly… I don’t know if anybody dares to open a business anymore. Then where will we go to buy our stuff? We have to respect business people, shop owners. For all their hard work, for our convenience.” (Yes, that’s right.) … They should solve the economic problem, not just avoid the crowded prisons or playing the good guy, caring not about how hard-working taxpayers must face hardship, danger daily, fending for themselves in a fearful, lawless country. Make other prisons different from them. Let them all work there and work in the garden. (Yes.) Even plant vegetables, make an organic farm. Plant, and sell. (Yes.) And enjoy. We are having shortages of food at present due to the climate, COVID and tons of other reasons. So let them contribute, not burden their countrymen and make bad examples for others, especially for the youth!” (In Finland, many detainees are sent to low-security facilities, where they interact with the local community, have jobs, and prepare a smooth return to society.) (About one-third of the prisoners work outside for the National Forestry Commission. Others work in civilian jobs as long as they have authorization. And the rest work here, on-site.) (Part of that site is the prison farm.) (Do you think a prison like this will stop you (from) committing crime in the future?) (Oh, yeah! It’s good, the system here is good because they treat you differently. They want you to be a better person for the future. So they give you an opportunity.) (Every indicator shows that, yes, it works better.) (With some of the lowest rates of crime and incarceration in Europe, prison reformers often look to Finland as an example.) (The food produced here actually goes back in to feed inmates and can feed staff. And the inmates are actually doing the work too. They’re doing all the hard work out here.) (Corrections officials believe this farm is a great training ground for inmates, who may pursue agricultural work after their release. Also, between crop production and a composting project, this facility saves taxpayers about US$400,000 a year.) In Master’s words: “No meat. Right now, especially right now. We should not. It will be something to be proud of, that will keep their dignity. (Yes, of course.) Nobody will treat them like they’re bad, a thief, and shunning them like a plague, an infecting virus, (Right.) like a problem. And they will be good if getting help that way.”

Whatever We Want, We Will Have It, Part 1 of 12

(Thank You, Master.) No. Thank you! (Thank You.) (Thank You for coming to Hsihu and for being so good to the villagers here.) (Yes.) Thank you. (We make business whenever we come here. Thank You, many thanks.) Thank you! (Thank You, thanks Master.) See you. (Thanks, everyone as well. Many thanks, thank You.) Thank you. (Oh, Master can speak Hakka?) Just a little bit. What are you selling? (This and this.) You are selling this. Which one? Which one do you want me to buy? (It’s up to You.) Which one is not selling well? Is it this one or this one? Or that one? (It’s up to You.) Did the initiates come out to buy it? They said they did? (They would.) Did they buy it from you? (They would come out to buy.) (These aren’t sold yet.) Right, not yet. But would they normally buy it? (Yes, they would.) OK. Then I’ll buy a little bit, OK? This is very tasty. I am not going to buy all of them. Save some for others. Understand? (Yes.) (Just buy them all.) Just buy them all? What are they going to do if there’s nothing left when they come out? (As soon as it’s sold out. I can call it a day and go home.) You want to go home, OK. How many? How much? Pay her. (OK.) Note it down. (Yes.) Count how much is left in your wallet after you pay, (Yes.) then you know how much I owe you. (Yes.) It’s time to go. We’ll take the car. Here you come again. (Master, I am also here!) I have bought it just now. (Sorry, please buy some.) I can't buy them all. I don't have have enough space. (Just a little.) What are these? (Corns. They are roasted.) Corns again? (Yes.) We just bought a lot. (Master, You also speak Aulacese [Vietnamese]? I am Aulacese [Vietnamese].) Ah, Aulacese (Vietnamese)? Oh! (I am Aulacese [Vietnamese].) New citizen. Aulacese (Vietnamese)? (You see, Master understood.) (No, Master did not understand. I’ve just spoken Aulacese [Vietnamese], but Master did not understand.) I understood, why didn’t I? (Master understood.) (I just told Master to buy things from me, but You ignored me.) Didn’t I buy it? (She said You ignored her.) I did buy some. (Yes, you did. You bought peanuts.) No, I bought some peanuts already. (Yes, she said You... I told her. I told her Master is Aulacese [Vietnamese], and Master understood Aulacese [Vietnamese].) OK, I don’t have this. I’d like to buy this. OK, how many now? How much are these? (Oh, Mây, please say that is from another vendor.) (These are theirs. I only have corns.) These are not yours? (No.) Are these yours? (Yes, corns are mine.) OK, we will buy some more. (I am still eating.) Twelve. (Twelve. OK. Thank You.) Twelve. OK. (Twelve.) (Wei.) (Twelve.) Four, twelve already. (Yes, twelve.) (Oh, this is the first time I see You, Master.) I can sing Aulacese (Vietnamese). (I see You passing by here every day, but today…) Four, eight. (Nine, ten, eleven, twelve.) I can sing Aulacese (Vietnamese) also. (First time I see Her. Oh, my legs and my hands are shaking.) She said she’s shaky. She said she’s shaky. (No, today is my first time seeing Her...) Twelve? (Seeing Supreme Master Ching Hai in person.) How come it is the first time? (No, every... I live just down there.) Yes? (Today is my first time seeing You.) So beautiful. Aulacese (Vietnamese), so beautiful. (Today is my first time seeing You.) Can you sing Aulacese (Vietnamese) songs? (Yes!) Which song? (It’s my first time to see Master. I am so happy.) Which song? She said she has goose bumps. Why? I am just buying vegetables. (No. My heart is beating fast. Heart is beating fast.) OK. How much? Oh, we can't buy anymore because we have to go back to the gathering. (Time to go back.) (Twelve. How much each?) (NT$40 each.) (NT$40.) (Four times 12, NT$480.) OK. I am going back to the gathering, OK? (OK.) What kind… (Thank You, Master.) Some… which song can you sing? (…which song can we sing?) Roads of Vietnam, you know that song? (I don’t know how to sing that song.) (I forgot how to sing that song. I live here quite long, so I forget it all.) Say it again. Which song? Which song can you sing? Which song? (Now, I don’t remember at all. I am so happy to remember anything.) So how come you said that I don’t understand. (So happy…) She said she’s worried I don’t understand Aulacese (Vietnamese). I said, “Do you know any Aulacese (Vietnamese) song?” She said, “Nothing. Don’t remember.” OK. I am sorry, guys. (Master, my vegetables are very good.) Thank you! (Master, these were grown in straw.) OK. Thank you. Because… (These were completely grown in straw.) I see. Then I’ll take those that are readily prepared. (OK. I will just take NT$100.) OK. NT$100 each, so four of them are NT$400. (No. NT$100 will do.) That’s impossible. (No. I don’t want to charge so much.) So cheap. (These were grown in straw.) Grown in straws. (It’s organic.) Thank you. I like it. (Also beans and all others. We’re still picking. You see, there are a lot of straws.) I like it. It’s OK. Thank you. (Thank You.) The straws are also edible. (It’s grown in straws. Do You still want this?) That will do. OK. I’ve got to go now. I need to go to the gathering. They are waiting. How about I come by another day and start buying from this side, OK? I haven’t bought it from there. Thank you. Sorry. I must go to the gathering. OK. Thank you. (Thank You. See You.) (Did we pay you?) (Yes.) (Goodbye, goodbye. Thank You. Thank You, Master.) How do you say goodbye in Hokkien? (Goodbye.) (Goodbye.) “Goodbye?” Just like the Taiwanese (Formosan)? Goodbye. Thank you. Goodbye. (Goodbye, goodbye.) Bye-bye. See you later. Hallo. Where should I go? (Turn right, Master.) Turn right. Hallo there. Hallo. Turn right? This way? (Yes.) Hallo, everybody. (Hallo, Master. Master is so beautiful.) Hallo everyone! (Hallo Master!) You brought the sun here. We had a lot of rain yesterday. You should come often and we will have more sun here. (OK.) Where should I walk? People love me everywhere. Which way? Right or left? Who wants to say it first? (Left.) (Right.) A voice vote is faster. (Hallo Master!) Hallo everyone! (Master doesn’t get old. Hallo Master!) OK. Thank you. How is everyone? (Good.) Has the weather been good? (Yes.) OK. (Master, I love You.) Love you. (Master, I love You.) (Master is so beautiful!) You are beautiful. (Master is so beautiful.) (Hallo Master!) Thank you. Thank you. (Master is really beautiful!) (Master is beautiful.) (So beautiful.) How is everyone? (Good.) I love you very much. (I love You too.) Thanks for coming. (Master is so beautiful.) Thank you. Are the mainland Chinese still here? (Yes.) In the front. They are all here. Great! They let you sit in the front. Very kind. Oh, what should I do? This is a lot of walking for me. I can never walk around enough for you. (Master, I love You.) Love you, love you. Love you. I love you. I love you. Love you. (Master is so beautiful.) Love you. Love you. (Hallo Master!) (Master is so beautiful!) (Hallo Master!) You look beautiful. Your hat is pretty. Thank you. Thank you. (Hallo Master!) I love you. (I love You.) I love you very much. (Master, I love You.) Love you a lot. (Hallo Master!) Hallo! (Hallo Master!) Hallo everyone! (Hallo Master!) (Hallo, Master!) Hallo, how are you? (Hallo Master!) (Master looks so beautiful!) You are beautiful! (Master is beautiful!) Thank you. (Hallo Master!) (Thank You.) Is everyone OK? (I love You.) I haven't walked through here, have I? (Master, I love You.) Love you. (Master is beautiful.) I will go there later. Have a look. (Hallo Master! I love You.) Love you. Love you. (Hallo Master!) Why are you all here? Someone asked you not to leave? (Hallo Master!) We need to turn back. (Hallo Master!) Hallo! (Hallo Master!) I love you. (I love You.) Love you. (Master is so beautiful!) Thank you. Thank you. Hallo, how is everyone? (Master is so beautiful!) How are you? (Fine.) It’s warm. Do you feel cold? (No.) You don’t? Yeah, good, good. Thank you. Thank you for coming. Thank you. Oh! It’s better to be a man. Yes, you have more space. You can sit farther apart. That’s not bad. (Master has been working hard.) No, no. I am happy. Work is busy but it’s not hard. (OK.) It’s not hard. (Hallo Master.) Very good. (Hallo Master.) Are you OK sitting there? (Yes.) Were you assigned to sit there? Or did you volunteer? Volunteered, right? To see the old places. Wow! Is it OK here? (Yes.) You can squeeze together if it rains, right? (Yes.) OK. Wonderful! We don’t need to build an ashram, do we? There is no need. It’s good like this. The air is good, right? (Yes.) As long as we do this every day…on Sundays, it’s fine. It rained a lot yesterday. I am thinking of moving our "capital" to somewhere more sunny, such as Pingtung and Kaohsiung. But their centers are smaller. Let’s see if they can host us. Where are you from? (Pingtung.) There may be some odor over there. (A little.) A little. I did ask them to get ready in case we come. The place is bigger. Kaohsiung is smaller. It’s beautiful but smaller. There isn’t enough space for everyone to sit. OK? Have you seen me? (Hallo Master!) Hallo! Have you seen me? (Yes.) OK. OK. I will walk this way. (Hallo Master!) How are you? Hallo everyone! I love you guys. I love you guys very much. (Hallo Master!) Love you very much. Thanks for coming to see me. Thank you. Thank you. (Hallo Master!) Thank you. Enough. Have you seen me? I am the same as yesterday and the day before. I will walk that way later. (Hallo Master!) Are all the kids there? (Yes.) OK. I will go there later. OK? I don’t feel cold at all. Many people asked if I do any exercise. I said, “No, I don’t need to exercise. My dogs give me enough exercise. And when you come, I exercise a lot too.” OK? Thank you. Thank you for coming to see me. (Hallo Master!) Thank you. Hallo everyone! (Master, I love You.) Love you. I love you. (Master, I love You.) Love you. Love you. Thank you. (Master, I love You.) Love you. Love you. (Master, You are so beautiful.) I love You. I love you. Thank you. (Master, I love You.) I love you. Love you. (Thank You.) Thank you. Korean, huh? Korean, yes? (Yes.) Korean. Only Korean, nobody else? Oh, you came back. You stay here? I hardly see you. Where have you been? Sometimes I see you here. But you come up there also sometimes? OK.

Multe persoane nu au serviciu, bine? (Da.)

The parents, the law, the society have to do this. We cannot do everything. (Yes, Master.) This is what we are doing. We’re speaking openly so that the world might wake up. And the parents may pay attention to the children’s stories. If you are a priest, you are above the law. Above the president, above the king, above the queen, above the prince, above everybody. (Yes, Master.) Most powerful person in the world, then you can do all the evil deeds, and these are servants of satan, not God. Do you see clearly or not? (Yes, Master.) If nobody can see this, then they’re all blind, deaf and dumb. Or maybe they see it, but they are accomplices together, having benefit from each other, that’s why. (Yes.) Maybe benefit for voting, and the other one, benefit for, I don’t know, more power. (Scared of their reputation, Master.) Yeah, reputation so they have more power. They can control. And then more, better business, or whatever. Maybe they’re all in bed together, whoever supports this, or doesn’t do anything about it, or turns the blind eye to it. They’re all in it together. They’re all in bed together. You hear what I’m saying? (Yes, Master.) I’m not afraid to say that. Even if I’m afraid, I still say that. Maybe I’m afraid of them, but I’m not afraid to say that. (Yes, Master.) Of course, everyone would be afraid, they are powerful. But that doesn’t mean if you are afraid you don’t do. (Yes, Master.) A hero, it doesn’t mean he’s not afraid to do it, but he does it because he should. (Yes, Master.) In my opinion, if you are not afraid and you do it, then I don’t think it’s much value anyway. Like if you give out something that you don’t want, or you don’t need, or is surplus to you, it’s not as if you give all you have, when you don’t have much. (Yes.) Just like in the church, when Jesus was alive, the woman gave only one penny that she earned extra. Worked extra to offer the money for the church to light the lamp. (Yes, Master.) Or something. She offered very little money anyway. Only one penny or something. But Jesus said, this woman’s offering has more value than all those rich people before her. Remember? (Yes, Master.) I don’t say the exact words, but it’s more or less like that, because she gave all she had, with all her heart, all her faith, and all her reverence for the Lord. And the other people, maybe they have some reverence and faith, but they can afford it. (Yes, Master.) Whatever they give, they still have a lot more. That’s the difference. Just like in the Buddha story I told you also, the two beggars, the couple, they have only one piece of cloth to cover themselves and they have to take turns to go out because only one piece of cloth. But then because of the reverence and love for the Buddha and belief in His teaching, they gave the only one piece of cloth that they had, and then prepared to die of hunger inside their little hut, in their dwelling. So the Buddha took it and He was touched, because He knows the sincerity of this couple, that they’re willing to give up their lives just to show this reverence for the Buddha and to show the belief in His teaching. The Buddha immediately wanted to take the cloth. Even before the monk explained anything, He wanted that cloth, the dirty, filthy … Not a piece of cloth even, just a rag, and He wanted it. And He took it, silent, and He understood in His heart and was very touched. After that, after everybody knew about that story, the king and the queen were so frightened. Like, my God, these two people cannot die like that, of hunger, because they don’t have the cloth to go out to beg. That piece of rag. So they immediately took out their jewelry, their beautiful clothes, and told them to bring it to the beggar couple. Remember that story? (Yes, Master.) If you do good deeds, most often you have it rewarded, very soon, or immediately also sometimes. Otherwise, it will come later, as a fruit of your goodness. We don’t do good things for any reward anyway, especially me. Because I don’t have any reward, I just have karma. The more I do good for the world, the more karma I have. (Yes, Master.) So it’s not for reward that I do anything. And for you guys also, you do it unconditionally. (Yes, Master.) If you have any reward, it’s good. The reward is the work in itself, that we are able to do it, that we are deemed fit to be entrusted with this kind of noble work. (Yes, Master.) Otherwise, we don’t need any more reward. As long as we have peace and some place to stay to work together, that is good enough already. How many people have less than what we have? You know, right? (Yes, Master.) Millions. OK, any other things you want to say? Comments or questions, anything. Please go ahead, I take a rest. (Master, in the past,) Yeah. (over a thousand years ago, they used to choose the kings by the bloodlines, the royal,) Yes, yes. (sacred bloodlines, even going back into the times of Jesus. And then after some time, the Holy Roman Church took over, so that stopped and they ended up changing the system so that the Holy Roman Church would choose the kings, and the kings would be under the power of the church. And around that same time, the church seemed to also have these inquisitions where they would seek out and hunt out the so-called heresies and the gnostic groups, like the Cathars and the Essenes, and) Yeah. (there were these horrible inquisitions where it seems that the groups who were truly in touch with God and had inner knowing and teachings and practice, were destroyed.) Yes. Witch hunts, yeah. (Yes.) (I just want to ask if somehow back then the church was infiltrated by satan? And then even nowadays, behind the scenes, there is the darkness controlling and where we still see these problems today with the children.) Yeah, what do you think? (That’s what I think.) The deeds speak louder than my words. Their deeds, their actions, it’s obvious to you, no? (Yes, Master.) No one who believes in God deeply and truly would do this kind of wicked, evil deed to the children. (No, no, Master.) No! So, you can see the opposite is true. So, they’re working for satan. (Yes, Master.) There is no need to have psychic power to see it. (Yes, Master.) If you don’t work, like, for God or with God or Godlike, then you work for satan, the opposite way. Completely opposite of what Jesus taught. (Yes.) Jesus loved the children and protected them. He even requested the people, “Please suffer, let the children come to me.” You know, like, don’t refuse them. Because theirs is the Kingdom of God. (Yes.) They’re innocent. And He said even that, “Except you become a child, you cannot enter the Kingdom of God,” meaning we have to be innocent like children, pure, purified. So, the children are the purity, are angel-like. So, anyone who touches the children, harms them in any way, they are satan, they’re evil. They’re the opposite of Jesus’ teaching and the Lord’s intention. (Yes, Master.) There is no need to do anything else to understand. This is very clear. (Yes, Master.) So, if they do the opposite of what Jesus taught, then they are satan. They are a servant of satan. And they are supposed to be treated according to the law of that nation. (Yes.) Any nation is the same. You cannot harm the children in any way. It’s not just in America. Every country has this law to protect the children. (Yes, Master.) And this doesn’t have to do anything with the church or Jesus’ teachings even. Even the common law. Oh, my God, I’m just too angry, I can’t even talk very well. I forgot my words, I forgot… I wish I had somebody, ghostwriting and put the prompter in front of me. I don’t have those things. I can’t even photograph myself today for you. Never mind. Keep moving all the time, I’m exhausted. (Yes, understand.) And every time have to rearrange everything all myself. I just don’t have enough strength and inspiration. (Yes, Master.) Many times before, I could, but this time I just cannot. Some situation, different. And I was just happy that I had internet even. The other day, there was no internet. (Yes, Master.) All right. Every day I’m happy, wherever I go, if I have internet. I’m grateful already to work and have a functioning phone, so that I can talk to you, at least. (Yes, Master.) And we have to be happy with that for now. Many things I cannot tell you. Many things I cannot tell you, so that you don’t know why I’m tired or busy, or where I am, and all that. (Yes, Master.) I wish I could. I wish I could tell you many more things, but it’s not necessary for you to know. Not necessary. It’s not only the Supreme Master Television work that I have to do. (Yes, Master.) Apart from meditation, intensively also, that takes some time. And many other things that I have to do, I can’t tell you. Even now, somebody even wants me to do an outside job, and all that. I can’t do it right now. I am still in retreat. OK, good. Any more, love? It’s good that you talk. You tell me your opinion and you comment, and you talk, not just me talking. (Master,) Yeah. (how can we help the children, besides praying for them?) The parents, the law, the society have to do this. We cannot do everything. (Yes, Master.) This is what we are doing. We’re speaking openly so that the world might wake up. And the parents may pay attention to the children’s stories. Not that when they say something about the priest and then the parents won’t believe them, or scold them, and keep them silent, and getting abused more and more all the time. Until they die or disappear mysteriously. I’m risking my safety to say all this on air. This is how we help already. Do you understand? (Yes, Master.) Because this will reach the whole world. (Yes, Master.) And that’s why it’s also risky for me. It’s too open. But what else can I do? I cannot ignore it. I cannot just keep silent. (Yes, Master.) I want to protect my life so that I can do the work that I’m doing. Even then, not without risk. (Yes, Master.) That’s why if I don’t tell you where I am, what I do, please, please understand. (Yes, Master.) I don’t have anyone to protect me. Because if I do, they will also disturb my peace. (Yes.) They might stay around, and then wishing to see me, or sneaking around, and that makes me more nervous. (Yes, Master.) I have learned, to keep to myself is safer than to be with others, because sometimes I cannot trust. Not everyone. (Yes, Master.)

You read all the Peace News Scrolls that your brothers prepared, and you know we have more peace than ever before. (Yes, Master.) That is very lucky for us already, that God is more merciful somehow. All the Saints and Sages put all the power together somehow to help. And vegan energy, also some help. And our prayers, some help. Everyone, every little thing, helps a little bit. Very few people are truly getting enlightenment on a higher level. (Yes, Master.) The rest are just repeating or saying whatever they are supposed to say or they should say, that’s all. Just to look good, sound good, but they don’t really understand deeply because the level is still very low. If you are nearer to the border, then you are just influenced by the next country as well. (Yes.) You are far from the capital because you are at the border. And very difficult for you to see the president, because he is in the capital. If he talks in the capital all the time and you are at the border, you cannot see him, cannot hear him. (Yes, Master.) Well, except now we have radio and television, but still not as often. Not every time a president speaks, you can hear, you can see, because they don’t always air. If you are not there, you don’t hear, you don’t see. Just like when I’m talking to you many things, we will edit, so the outside brothers and sisters, they don’t hear what I am saying to you. Not all of my speech. (Yes, Master.) Like that. This world is like that. Just like hell is like that. And Heaven is like that. (Yes, Master.) Or if you go in a supermarket, then you know it’s like that. The supermarket has cashiers, has people, has many aisles, and you can go and choose what you want. That’s a supermarket. And if you go to the airport, you know what the airport is like. If you go to the barbershop, then you know the barbershop is like that. You go to the hairdressing shop, you know the hairdresser shop is like that. If you go to the gym, you know the gym is like that. And if you are in this world, you know this world is like that. It’s a mixture of goodness and bad. A lot of bad, and influences the good as well. (Yes, Master.) So each corner of the Universe has its own character and its own function. So even Kṣitigarbha Saint stayed in hell, but He cannot help all the hell people. (Yes, Master.) Or He still has to watch on. They are punished and tortured down there, but He couldn’t do much. He just stays there and helps what He can, but little, whomever He can. Jesus came, and He helped some, His followers. And the Buddha came and He helped His followers. That’s why the Saints keep coming, going, and screening out whomever They can help. But not all. (Yes, Master.) I’m trying to help all, but not sure if I can either. We use our television, that will be more spreading already, more widespread. So more people will receive it, and more people will benefit already. In the old time, just maybe a handful or tens of thousands followed a Master, max. Bodhidharma had five disciples. After nine years sitting, facing the wall, He had nine disciples. (Wow.) Understand? (Yes, Master.) That’s why many Masters, They understood this. They know this world is like this, so They do what They can and rescue whom They can only. So most Masters don’t have a lot of disciples. They help whomever They can, but not the whole world. Even the Buddha or Jesus Christ, or other Masters. You know that, right? (Yes, Master.) In Buddha’s time, they were still warring with each other. Even the Buddha could not stop it. He tried. He tried three times, but He could not succeed in stopping the war. And Muqianlian (Maudgalyayana), He used his own begging bowl and used magic to put the two countries inside there and cover them together. And then when He opened it, there was blood inside (Oh, wow.) because they’re still warring inside His bowl. (Wow.) With all His power and magic, couldn’t help. So at least our world is more peaceful now. So our world is getting better somehow. (Yes.) (We are lucky to have Supreme Master Television in our lifetime, because it seems this is the widest reach that can be possible to spread Your message and Your love and Your influence throughout the whole world. So I think we are very fortunate, and hopefully, it will just keep on expanding.) Yeah. It’s true like that. Because when people listen to the truth or the logical reason, not all of them will understand or accept, but some will. (Yes, Master.) And the more widespread, the more chance that some people will get it. (Yes.) Some people are good somewhere, and if it reaches them, then they will waken. They will wake up. And it helps. Although it’s very slow for my liking. You know, I want everything now. But this world is like this, I told you already. (Yes, Master.) Just like a Mercedes car is like that. And another car, like the Cadillac, is like that. You cannot expect all the same like the Mercedes. (Right.) Even though it functions, but it’s different. Different shape, different function, different style, different speed. So we are in this world. We do what we can to help this world before we leave it. We should leave it better than when we found it. (Yes, Master.) And definitely we’re doing that. We have more influence than we can imagine, because invisible and visible. Visible we can only know a little bit here and there like that. There are more that we don’t know. We don’t have evidence to show. (Yes, Master.) Some I told you, that is very little. Tip of the iceberg, not even. Some other influence we don’t see, we cannot know. Not physically, because there’s no evidence. But we influence a lot. Not small. And invisibly also. (Yes, Master.) So, be happy, try our best. That’s all everyone can do. Try your best. Any more? (Thank You, Master, for everything and please take care of Yourself. You are doing Your best already, we pray that You continue to be healthy) Yeah. (for all of us.) OK. All right. Thank you. (Thank You, Master.) No more? Girls? Boys? (No, Master.) OK. Then… You have questions but I don’t feel like I’m up to it now. Just these things only. (Yes, Master.) (Thank You.) Your questions maybe another day. (Yes, Master. Thank You, Master.) I also wanted to read you stories and all that, just to cheer us up, but it’s difficult for me to go back into, like, making up and dressing up. I cannot. I don’t like to do those things. Especially now I have a choice. Maybe someday I will just read you a story without video. Would that be OK then? (Yes, Master.) We have a lot of photos, you can put up one or two. (Yes, Master.) It becomes Supreme Master Radio, then. It’s better already! In the old times, you had to travel across the sea and mountain in order to see the Master. By foot or by horse. (Yes.) Ka-bum, ka-bum, ka-bum, and then hurt your bum. Nowadays, you can just sit on your own bum and listen. Already very good, no? (Yes, Master, it is.) Yeah, we’re just too picky. Nowadays, we even have telephones, we can talk to each other, and still say, “Oh my phone is not up to date. It’s not the latest yet. So…” Blah, blah. But be careful, just keep using, don’t keep changing phones, because the material to make iPhones, to make telephones are very costly. Very rare substance. (Yes, Master.) So, in India they are still trying hard to produce them. Or China also. The world depends on that for communication. Either phone or computer. They have some substance that is very precious. Otherwise, the phone will not function without it. Very little, very thin, but we depend on that. Not just the wires and the electricity, but some substance. (Yes, Master.) Wow, this kind of substance, they are miracles. Otherwise, we could not communicate by iPhone (Yes, Master.) or computer. All right, my love. As long as we live, we shall do our best to help this world that we live in. (Yes, Master. Thank You, Master.) Just like Kṣitigarbha was trying His best to help people in hell. OK. Love you! (We love You, Master.) God bless. (Thank You, Master.) God love and God protect all of you. And I thank you. (Thank You, Master.) (Take care.) Bye for now. (May God protect Master.)

Masters’ Good Affinity with Sentient Beings, Part 1 of 6

Hallo, comrades. Now, we are truly comrades, because we have the same ideal. We have the same direction, going up there. So, we are truly comrades. Following Auntie Hải, you are truly my comrades.Hallo, everybody! (Hallo, Master!) Good, good! Is this the kitchen crew? (Yes.) Many thanks to you. Thank you for coming to cook on such short notice. Thank you. Hallo. Aulacese (Vietnamese)? (Yes.) All Aulacese here? (Yes, Master.) Just initiated? (Yes.) All of you are new? (Yes.) (New young initiates.) Just initiated. Oh, young initiates and other initiates as well. OK. Young initiates, Aulacese (Vietnamese) initiates, and others as well? (All mixed together.) All mixed. Then which language shall I speak? Hallo. Hallo! (Hallo, Master.) Hallo! Hallo! Hallo, you are healthy and well? (Is Master healthy and well?) OK. I’m OK. Healthy, but not well, because there is so much work and I could not finish it all by myself. Therefore, I said I am healthy, but not well. It’d be better if I could do more, but I could not do it all by myself. Therefore, I said I am not well, but still healthy. Not very well. (Hallo, Master.) Hallo. All right. Congratulations! (Yes, Master.) Everyone will become Buddha soon. From Taiwan (Formosa)? (Taiwan.) Where are the mainland Chinese? Are they here? (Yes, they’re in the meditation hall.) (Over here.) Over here? OK. (In the main meditation hall.) In the main hall? Overseas initiates are all in the main hall. Hallo, everybody! (Hallo, Master!) Is it cold today? Why do you cover yourselves with hats? You seem cold. Are you? Is it cold? (Hallo, Master!) Hallo! (Hallo, Master!) Fine. I’m fine. Very good, very good. Thank you. Thank you. (Hallo, Master!) OK. I’ll just use one hand, and use the other hand to keep myself steady. We’re all getting old. Just looking at you, I know how old I am. (Hallo, Master.) Just like looking in a mirror, right? We all grow old together. (Hallo, Master!) Ah, this place is too small. There’s not enough room, no matter where you sit. Good that not all of you have come. Luckily some initiates did not come. (Hallo, Master!) Hallo. From China? (Taiwan [Formosa]). (Master looks so pretty!) It’s because you see me from a distance and you aren’t wearing your glasses. Can you all see me? (Yes, we can!) I came down just to have a look at you. (Thank You, Master! Thank You.) (Master is so beautiful!) My clothes are beautiful. That’s why. (Master is beautiful.) Ah! Ngọc? How come you still look so young? Why don’t you sit with the Aulacese (Vietnamese)? You don’t have translation? If you sit there, you wouldn’t have translation. Is it OK? (Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.) It's OK. Ah! People will misunderstand. They’re good at misunderstanding. I don’t mean they will; I mean they’re good at it. They’re experts. I used to hug you before, didn’t I? When I first started to teach. No? Sometimes I hugged a thousand people and was exhausted when I got home. My hands were so tired. Now, I dare not hug people again. I have no time for that. OK? Having a look is already very good. A look every year, maybe. It’s enough, isn’t it? Yeah, you also have to earn your own merits; can’t just steal them from me. (Thank You, Master.) Thank me for what? Thank you. Hallo, everybody! (Hallo, Master.) I’m fine, OK. You were given just one day’s notice. There was not enough time. I’m sorry for causing you so much trouble. Was it hard for you? (No, it was not.) Are you upset with Master? (No, we’re not.) Some of you might be. Some of you. (No, we aren’t.) Some might be upset that I didn’t allow them to sit up there, very close to me. Some are angry with me. If you’re angry, you won’t have merit. OK? I’ve done nothing bad. I’m a good person. You’ll have a lot of bad karma if you’re angry with a good person. Understand? (Understand.) I’m warning you. Your anger will not affect me, but it will affect you. That’s what you should be afraid of, not me. OK? I’m old. If I have to die, I’ll just die. It’s nothing. I’m prepared anytime. I’m prepared to go anytime. Why do you sit there? You can sit in the front. You like it there? (I must go early.) Ah, OK, OK. What time do you have to go? (It’s 4:30 p.m.) Ah? (4:30.) 4:30. Is it 4:30 p.m. already? Not yet? Good. Ah, you speak Chinese? (Yes.) OK. If you want. No, it's just, you have a privilege, not an obligation. I thought people did not tell you. It’s up to you. (Hallo, Master.) Aulacese (Vietnamese)? (Yes, Master.) You just became the Buddha recently? (Yes, Master.) Hallo, comrades. Now, we are truly comrades, because we have the same ideal. We have the same direction, going up there. So, we are truly comrades. Following Auntie Hải, you are truly my comrades. (Yes, Master.) Âu Lạc (Vietnam) is all well? Are you well at home? (Yes, Master.) The whole country is well? (Yes, Master.) Nothing happened, right? (No, Master.) OK. I like your hair. What’s your nationality? Aulacese? No? (Mongolian.) Mongolia, yeah! Speak English? (A little bit.) A little bit, yes. Everybody tells me the same. I told you guys to learn English. I don’t know, since the Qing dynasty already. Nobody learned anything. Everybody comes here, hanging the ears like that. What’s wrong with English? So easy to learn. Coming here, hanging all the ears like that, looks funny. Hallo. (Hallo, Master.) The Aulacese are here too? Peace and prosperity, right? Why did you shave your head? You want to be a renunciate? You want to be a monk? I am a nun having long hair! See? Why did you shave your head? It can be cold. Just be natural. But a shaved head is more convenient, right? Taking a shower is also convenient. You don’t have to dry your hair, to curl your hair, too much work! I used to shave my head before; it looked beautiful. Now I leave my hair long, and it doesn’t look beautiful at all. I work too much; my eyes and my face all wrinkled! My hair is falling out, only some hair left. I still have hair but thin hair. (Hallo, Master.) (How are You?) Fine, fine! Fine! Are you comfortable? (I love You!) Love you too. (Hallo, Master!) (Master. Master is beautiful.) Old beauty! Thank you, thank you. Thank you, thank you, all of you. Thank you. Thank you all for your support. (Hallo, Master!) (Hallo, Master!) You still come to visit this old person? (Thank You, Master.) You still come to see this old lady? (Hallo, Master.) Hallo. (Thank You, Master.) Your hair is gray now. My God! Time flies. Time passes so quickly. In no time and… You see my earlier pictures. I had very dark hair, didn’t I? Even without hair, it was dark. Now I touch it, it’s gray. (It’s a beautiful gray.) I wear the hat to cover it. Thank you. To cover the gray hair. Are you OK? (Yes.) OK? My hair is just like yours. You can’t see it because it’s covered. Yeah, I am here. (Hallo, Master.) They sit in the back, so I’ll go and have a look. Look as much as you want. It’s very tiring to come see you, just like seeing a king. Yeah. I had to choose which clothes to wear and to take a shower first, because sometimes I’m too busy with work to take a bath. I was afraid I might smell. Your smell is already very strong and I didn’t want to add to it. Before, when I came back from Austria, I sat in a small van with five, six, seven, or eight seats. Early in the morning, we drove to the airport. Three or four people from Taiwan (Formosa) had come to invite and accompany me here. I knew their intention before they opened their mouths. I said, “I’ll go on my own will. You don’t have to say anything.” Actually, they used a ploy. They sent old people. Understand? Those who were older, sick, and had a cold or something; not a serious cold. These people flew such a long distance, all the way from Taiwan (Formosa) to Austria. After they arrived, they kept coughing. I felt bad. They were so old and were sent there or maybe dragged there, to see me. Doesn’t matter; they had good excuses to invite me back. Ah! I forgot. The point was about the smell. The van was small. When I came out, just opening the door of the van, I almost passed out, because the smell was so strong! I thought it came from all of them. Then I realized, after sitting in the front seat, that it was from the person next to me. Just one person. He had forgotten to take a shower or something. And he had slept in the clothes from the day before, then got up and went to drive the car without changing. Later I found out it was him. And I mistook it to be from the clean Taiwanese (Formosans). I’m sorry! Wow! The smell was too strong. I don’t know if you’ve ever been in that kind of situation. Have you? (Yes.) You have? Ah, I thought I was the only one! You’ve also had that kind of experience? It’s the same with all smells. The nose is international, right? No matter what smell it is, it’s all the same. Some people do not have a sensitive nose. They can’t smell anything. There was a man who was newly married. Wanting to please her husband, the wife sprayed a lot of perfume of a certain brand, deodorant, etc. Then she showed up with her lustrous hair also sprayed with perfume. They were newly married. The husband was busy working at home. She hung around, but the husband was unaware. Then she drew nearer. He did not inhale deeply, like take a deep breath or something, like this. He did not. The wife thought it was odd. “I’m so beautifully dressed, with so much charming perfume. He should have noticed and reacted. Why does he have his nose glued to the computer and show no response?” Later she found out that her husband’s nose does not work; it is not sensitive. Some people have weak eyes. They look just like us, but… One of my assistants can’t see colors. Some people are like that. I was not aware of this kind of thing. I thought that I myself had a lot of physical defects. And then I look around, oh, many people have problems. Some have a poor sense of smell, some have weak eyes, and some can’t hear well. They might also have other physical defects that I haven’t noticed. Therefore, we are very OK.

You have to take care of the whole country, not just a group of people. First your country has to be strong and stable, then you can let other people in and take good care of them. If you are also down and low, then you cannot take care of your own people, not to talk about outside guests. I want to protect my life so that I can do the work that I’m doing. (Yes.) Even disciples, some are low level, easy to be used by their karma or by maya or their own lowly desire or influenced by others, or whatever. I just have to be protecting myself. And for that, I have to work quietly. (Yes, Master.) The way we are doing right now, we are discussing like this, it’s also protecting the present and the future children somehow. (Yes, Master.) Because if everybody else keeps silent, then they continue this way and the church will be full of evil doers. (Yes.) Because like attracts like, and they see how profitable, how prestigious, how powerful to be a priest in a church and do anything they want, (Yes, Master.) including murdering children, abusing them, molesting them, threatening them. You see why I’m saying that? (Yes, Master.) So, it’s very nice of you to think that way, but this is what we’re doing, the best we can already. (Yes, Master.) OK, anything more? (Master, it would be good to have another leader back in political power like Trump who is backed by God) Yes. (to be able to fight these people,) Yes. (because at the moment, the political situation without him in the US seems to be going the wrong way.) Yeah. That’s what I think. But at least something softened. I am trying hard to work through them also, very hard, (Thank You, Master.) harder than with Trump. So, you can see some progress. (Yes.) I’ll tell you some examples, like the Palestinians, it’s peaceful. You see that? (Yes, Master.) Softer position. And with the Iranians, not blowing up. (Yes, Master.) And with the Koreans, at least they contact and want to discuss. (Yes, Master.) And also with Taiwan (Formosa), they’re sending senators, bipartisan senators to go to Taiwan (Formosa), even though China opposed. (Yes, Master.) Saying that just to keep the relationship, the support, and continue with the Trump policy. Because normally it was Trump who enhanced the relationship with Taiwan (Formosa), who showed open support. And now, normally they didn’t want that, but now they are following Trump’s policy where it was left off. (Yes, Master.) They continue. So that is something. (Yes, Master.) Takes a lot of work. It’s not easy to influence humans’ minds. (Yes.) You know that. It’s not even easy to influence your own mind. (Yes, Master.) It has its own mind. (Yes.) So, I’m also glad that you continue to be the master of yourself, that you continue to work for Supreme Master Television to help the world, for example in this case, and that case, and other cases. (Yes, Master.) We can only keep doing. And the result comes or not comes, that’s not always in our control. (Yes.) But you can see a little bit of results. You see that, what I keep telling you now? (Yes, Master.) And also the present administration, they also are not so like spoiling China or other countries, even though it’s more benefit to them. So, it seems like they are continuing many of President Trump’s policies. (Yes, Master.) Some steps. Except the immigration policy. It’s probably too late, but never mind. That was in the beginning, but now it seems like they’re going in a little better direction, a little bit. Hesitantly, but a better direction. So, somehow it works. (Yes, Master.) Trump is better, of course, because he signed a lot of money against child abuse and human trafficking, especially children trafficking. But that’s not enough. You have to see to the root cause of it, because if the symbol of God, the church, is rotten like that, then other people will be influenced to do the same, (Yes, Master.) or join inside to make it more evil, more permanent. Because if the church doesn’t do anything that means they accept it, they’re condoning this kind of evil practice, and so they will attract more evil, and more bad people will come to become their workers, their priests, and make the church become satan’s instrument. You can see that? (Yes, Master.) And the church has a big influence in world politics even. So can you see how harmful it is to the whole world, not just to the children, not just to the reputation of the church. (Yes, Master.) You understand why I don’t sleep well over this, apart from every other thing? All right. Any more? You are good today. You are very engaged and I like that. Tell me, if any more questions or opinion. (We hope all the wrongdoers will be brought to justice, Master,) Yeah, me too. (as these things are coming out more and people are apologizing openly now.) I hope so too. I hope so. I hope not just apologize but go to the bottom of it, and get rid of it once and for all. (Yes.) If the cancer is not operated upon and treated, it will go all over the body, that is our world. (Yes, Master.) If the church is not clean, clear and purified, then this evil will spread all over. Because the churches are everywhere, they are all over, everywhere. (Yes, Master.) So this evil practice is like an example, and also the energy of it will affect the world, affect world peace, (Yes.) affect the world’s morals, virtues and the faith in God. (Yes, Master.) Because they are very powerful. They are influencing everything, from politics to anything else, commercial business and economy, everything. (Yes, Master.) So if the church is evil, then this will spread all over, like a cancer untreated, will spread all over the body. (Yes, Master.) If they don’t do anything, then I don’t think the church will exist long, or it will be full of evil doers, in the cloth of holiness. Just like in the Bible it says, “Beware of the wolf in sheep’s clothing.” (Yes.) This is it now. This is the wolf in the sheep’s clothing now, in our time. What else would you call that? (Yes.) It’s truly pure evil. (Master, there is a problem with the US immigration also, and there are many children that are being split up from their families, and this maybe is also causing some problems with vulnerable children. And so I understand now why Trump was supportive of keeping the borders closed, because children should be staying with their families,) Yeah. (protected and not split up like this, and there are so many problems with the border as so many immigrants are coming in, and it creates vulnerable families, and it’s creating more vulnerability in the society.) Yeah, I know, I know, and children are unaccompanied (Yes.) and not all of them have family in the United States even. They just throw the children. This is encouragement for children to be sold, to be bought, to be molested. It happens already! (Yes.) And to be infected and to be thrown over the border or to be left behind because they cannot catch up with these smugglers. One boy, I heard that… (VIDEO: “Can you help me?” “What happened?” “It’s because I was with a group of people and they dumped me and I don’t know where they are.” “You don’t know where they are? They left you alone?” “Well yeah, they dumped me.” “They left you alone, dumped?” “Alone.” “You don’t come with your mommy or daddy or anyone? Do you come with your mom or dad?” “No one. I was with a group that came… and at the end they dumped me and I came here to ask for help.” “They dumped you and they told you to come and ask for help?” “No, I came because if not, where am I going to go? I might be abducted, kidnapped or something. I’m scared.” “You’re scared?” “Well, yes.” “We’ll talk right now, OK?”) One story, that’s a single story but you cannot trace all the stories. Because there are many more – left behind or died in the middle of the journey, drowned in the river you see in that kind of makeshift little boat, (Yes.) little raft or whatever. And that will also make the system, make the American infrastructure and economy kaput. You see what I’m saying? (Yes, Master.) Because it’s just coming, coming, coming, there is no organization, nothing, and they spent millions already trying to take care of this. You have to take care of the whole country, not just a group of people. First your country has to be strong and stable, then you can let other people in and take good care of them. If you are also down and low, then you cannot take care of your own people, not to talk about outside guests. (Yes, Master.) So it does look like Trump doesn’t have compassion, but it’s the opposite. (Yes, Master.) It’s the opposite. You have to do things properly. Like this, the children just come in in thousands, thousands, and there’s nowhere for them to stay properly, and they sleep on the floor with emergency blankets, they don’t have enough food, I heard, (Yes, Master.) and being molested like that. Also in the news, (Yes.) that they had to move the girls somewhere else, and resulted in the death of some person already. Self-defense, maybe like that.

Buddhist Stories: “The Hundred-Headed Fish," "The Peaceful Heaven Being's Deeds," and "The Trayastrimsa Heaven Gatherings," Part 3 of 8

Because if you keep the precepts, then the precepts will avoid you making bad karma in the future. For example, if you keep the precept of not harming others, not killing, then life after life, it depends on how many lives or how clean you keep the precept, you will not get sick. “So Kapila listened to his mother…” Oh God, what a mother is for! “And then whenever he discussed or debated with the monks, and then when he lost of course on this topic, then he screamed and scolded them and degraded them, ‘You are a stupid person. You are just animals. You know nothing!’ And then he called them like, ‘You’re just like a dog’s head or pig’s head or this animal’s head or that animal’s head,’” meaning stupid, no brain, little brain, something like that. “So every time he was very, very fiercely scolding the monks like that. In this phase of the story, the Buddha reminded everyone that, ‘Ananda, you should know that Ca Tỳ Lê (Kapila), because of his wickedness inside his heart, and has been yelling and defaming the monks at that time, therefore he has become the fish with 100 different animals’ heads on his body.’ And then Ananda asked the Buddha, ‘Praised, the World Honored One, Ca Tỳ Lê (Kapila), when will he be able to liberate himself, be liberated from this fishy, hundred-head fish?’ So the Buddha said, ‘Ananda, you should know, even if I use my Buddha Wisdom Eye to check, it’s a long, long, long time still. Maybe in the gentle era when the Buddha comes out, when 1,000 Buddhas already passed away,’” meaning after Him, “‘and then 1,000 Buddhas also come out to the world and then pass away already, still not yet. Still this Ca Tỳ Lê (Kapila) will not be liberated from this kind of incarnation as a fish with 100 heads.’ After I and all the bhiksus heard that,” “I” means Ananda, “All of us had goosebumps and trembled with fear, also were feeling so sorry, so pitiful. And we all said, ‘Please, all beings, take care of your actions, your speech, and your thoughts. Be very careful what you think, what you say, what you do. Always be good, do good, think good.’ After the Buddha and the sangha talked with each other as thus, all the 500 fishermen and 500 cowboys, they were all also very scared. They all knelt down, put their palms together and wanted to become monks under His guidance. So of course the Buddha said, ‘Welcome, bhiksus.’” So He had another 1,000 monks. Wow, the riverbank is big! Otherwise, how can they sit all together like that and kneel in front of Him? A thousand people kneel in front of Him at the same time, including other many thousands of monks already kneeling there. Maybe we should find a riverbank somewhere. We just buy a generator to get electricity. But in that case can we have Internet, broadband like this in order to broadcast the whole world, or not? No, huh? Yes, no? No, yes? Yes? (Maybe.) Maybe? (Yes.) How? (Wireless.) Wireless? You mean the chip? (They have 4G everywhere.) Everywhere, meaning Asia also? (In Asia, in some countries.) Around here because we have cable. (Yeah.) Official connection Internet. But if we have just Internet card, Internet chip, is that good enough? (Can be.) I don’t know. In one of the countries where there is no electricity or water, I told you we have Internet chip, but it’s so difficult, so slow just to download a little, one page of information. Picture, forget it. And had to go all the way on the road. Not on my mountain, cannot. Have to go all the way down to the main, big… not really big road, but the country road for that community. And maybe you can. And if I want to telephone, sometimes I have to go and… “Ah, OK, OK. Oh, no, it’s not OK!” I go all over the place, and looking at the telephone, cannot even talk, keep looking, keep looking for the bars. Yeah, I’m telling you. And if I text sometime, I’ve told you already, if I’m too excited or forget or my dog comes “wow-wow,” and then I forget, I push the wrong button – everything gone. But that’s not too bad, the buttons sometimes I try to remember. But if those iPod, (iPad.) iPhone, just breathe and it’s gone. Like I look here and I scratch my head, then it’s gone. Just wave your hand, then it’s gone. No, I exaggerate. I exaggerate it. But it’s so difficult. Normally you just swipe your hand and then something changes. Sometimes I don’t know, and I just want to scratch here. Then, the phone thinks I swipe my hand and then everything’s gone. I have to begin all over again. And it was already difficult for me to begin before. I did learn some computer before, a little bit how-to, before, when we had SMTV, Supreme Master TV. I have to check most of the news and stuff when I can. So I learned how to take out the information, but I couldn’t send it back. So I had to write it down, “OK, page one, paragraph two,” then I’d write the whole sentence and I’d put the correction on it. And then after I collected all the corrections, then I ask one of your brothers to come and send it. “And these 1,000 people -- 500 fishermen and 500 cowboys followed the Buddha, became monks, and not too long afterwards, they cleansed all their (bad) karma and they attained Arhant Level. For the sake of the big assembly, the Buddha taught them again about the Four Noble Truths, like, to be born, to die, to be old, and to suffer during the lifetime, and how to erase the suffering, the path to erase the suffering.” That’s another long story. Like one of the Eight Ways of Purification I told you before, that’s one of the ways to erase suffering and not to be born again. Or to be born but be in a very, very high position, prosperous, happy, happy, etc. Because if you keep the precepts, then the precepts will avoid you making bad karma in the future. For example, if you keep the precept of not harming others, not killing, then life after life, it depends on how many lives or how clean you keep the precept, you will not get sick. You might die of course one day, but during the lifetime you won’t get sick. Or if you keep the precept of non-stealing, then nobody, no robber will ever touch your house, for example like that. Every precept has a consequence, a good, good, good karma to bring with (it). Anybody wants to hear some more stories? (Everybody.) How many? Raise hands. (Everybody.) This is a better story, for a change. And then maybe after I’ll read that. “Thus I have heard,” it’s a story from Ananda “computer” again. “One time, the Buddha stayed in Xá Vệ (Sravasti) country in the golden garden of Cấp Cô Độc (Anathapindika) and the Prince Kỳ Đà (Jeta).” Remember? Remember the garden? Yes or no? (Yes.) How many yes? Only three, four? The garden of the Prince Kỳ Đà (Jeta), that the billionaire has to use the gold (gold bricks.) to pave it. Yeah, gold brick, gold bars to pave it, if he wants to buy that garden. Why bother? In Africa, five million square meters (costs) only 500,000 euros. If he knew, he would go there and buy instead. Instead of taking all the gold reserves from your bank and pave that garden, he would go to Africa or some other country that’s cheaper, Siberia, whatever. It’s cheaper, right? (Yes.) In some of the countries they give you land for free, so that you go develop their land. I know one of it, not Venezuela, somewhere nearby, not Honduras. I forgot, I was there before, I forgot. (Belize?) Belize, for example. They give you land for free. But over there they don’t have soya sauce, they don’t have… Very little things, they sell small, small, in a small little hut. Even Chinese shop I asked, “Do you have any tofu?” “Umm.” So I said, “What do you cook around here?” They said, “We cook whatever the land offers.” If they want to buy tofu sometimes they have to go across to go to Mexico or America. Maybe you go to Belize. Ask the government to give us some free land. They’ll bring tofu, soya sauce; we’ll bring everything inside. Everybody can enjoy together. All right. I don’t know, it’s not like you just have land, you must also have some affinity with it. And any land has to offer us some freedom, freedom of speech, to gather without hindrance. Otherwise, it’s not about land. OK, this time we’re going to Heaven, not on Earth anymore. This chapter is about a Heaven called Tịnh Cư Thiên (Zuddhàvàsa). Maybe, I think, a very peaceful Heaven. If it is according to this word, means peaceful Heaven. “‘Thus I have heard.’ At one time the Buddha, in the same country Xá Vệ (Sravasti), in the golden garden of the Prince Kỳ Đà (Jeta). At that time, one day about evening, suddenly there was a beam of Light from the Heaven shining down onto the whole garden. And inside this great shining Light, there was one being, very big, very handsome, very strong, and his body emitted like a diamond kind of aura. And he flew down inside where the Buddha resided, knelt down in front of Buddha and then he walked around the Buddha three times and then went back in front of Buddha and knelt there, knelt in front of the Buddha and said, ‘Praised be the Buddha. I am from the Heaven of Peace. I have heard that You came down to the planet Earth to save beings and bring them blessings also from Heaven. I thought it is very rare that the Buddha appears thus, so I am here with utmost respect and sincerity. Please accept my offering tomorrow that I can offer water and a vegan diet.’” Water for bath. In India, there are many thousand monks; that’s why the Buddha, one of the precepts for the monks is you don’t take a bath more than once every half a month, twice a month. Just to save the water. Just like here, you can’t bathe every day. Yeah, when you need really, but not everybody come and shower every day, my God! So we use a dry cleaning system, remember? I do the same, I do the same. But even if I take a shower, I use a bucket, a kind of low bucket and round. I stand in there so that all the water runs inside there, and I use it to flush the toilet. And I wash my hands also inside, and then I use it, so no problem. “He pleaded with the Buddha and the sangha to accept his offering of water for bath, shower, as well as vegan food. So the Buddha praised him that he had such sincerity, wanting to do meritorious deeds. So He accepted, the Buddha accepted. So this being flew back to his house, no, his home in Heaven, and he brought all the beautiful food and drinks from Heaven down to Earth. And then he brought a lot of facilities or anything that facilitates the shower and the bath. He brought it all down. And then the water, he even ... He brought all the clothes, bathrobes, towels, everything from Heaven down. And then he even manifested many bath houses, many shower houses, many rooms. And then he made the water already mixed well, not cold, not hot, just fine. With a thermometer, checked it out, how many degrees, it’s good. And then also, these things, even brought these grasses to brush your body. They use this kind of brush, different. Maybe they say grass to brush, but probably special grass, just like we use a brush nowadays. And then he even brought down oil, like body cream, first class, from Heaven’s supermarket, everything down. And then after he arranged everything, he came and invited the Buddha to take a shower. Of course, the sangha also, maybe. “And then after that the Buddha came back to His own room. Then he came to the Buddha and said, ‘Praised be the World Honored One; the vegan meal is all ready. Please come and enjoy.’ So after the Buddha and all the sangha finished their bath, put back their clothes and everything, they went out and enjoyed the vegan meal. Then they went back. After that, ‘tôi,’” means Ananda, means “I,” “I” means Ananda, “came in front of the Buddha and asked again.” How come no other sangha ever asks Him? Always Ananda asks. I guess other people don’t dare, so they put down a note, and say, “Ananda, go ask, for me. For me. You are the assistant of Buddha, go ask.”

Buddhist Stories: Cinca the Brahmin Girl, Part 1 of 5

Buddhist Stories: Cinca the Brahmin Girl, Part 1 of 5

They didn't understand what the Buddha truly was. They didn’t know His power. Their preachings (were) just from outside, telling people, maybe repeating from the Vedas or from some other scripture. But the Buddha is the inner realization, powerful from inside. Can bless people, can save people, can liberate souls, even from hell. Different. Let's go Buddha business, or… My God, just eating all day. Only because today is festival, OK? (Yes.) Don't expect this every day. You don't come here for this, right? (Yes.) Man, I never know. Maybe you specially came for Moon Festival. You wait until the last minute. Come here just on time to eat the (vegan) cakes. The Buddha, when He was alive He had also been blamed for things that were not true. You want to know about that? (Yes.) Because I had some bad names, because I thought I was born in Âu Lạc (Vietnam), just a small Aulacese (Vietnamese) woman. And Âu Lạc (Vietnam) is not, like, famous or anything about anything. All you heard about Âu Lạc (Vietnam) is war and refugees and poverty and all that. Just recently, they rise up already, international standard. Even they are in World Trade, how to say… (Organization. WTO.) World Trade Organization, before even Russia. At that time Russia was not admitted, Âu Lạc (Vietnam) already inside. You don't have any translation? You understood English? You understand? Oh, you have? Good, good. And I had no back support, nothing. I was all alone, I went (at) it all alone. If I was born in India and all that, then they would call me Guru Mataji, Maharaji Mataji, Babu, Baba. Sami, Samiji. (Swami.) Yeah, Swami, Swami Maharaji, whatever. But I was born in Âu Lạc (Vietnam), so I had nothing to be proud of. At that time, even the war was just recently fresh and Âu Lạc (Vietnam) was still embargoed. Now it's better. The country is much, much better. And the government is open, more open so people can come in and out of the country, foreigners and Aulacese (Vietnamese) alike. It's very good. Bravo for that. It's even easier to go out of the country for doing tourism now than during the war. So the Communist regime in Âu Lạc (Vietnam) is not so bad, very open. Younger generation, open. (The) war's over. All right, I’ll read you this story. It’s called “Ciñcā, the Brahmin Girl.” Whoever gives false speech, he transgresses one principle, meaning not telling lies. We have five principles, main principles, like, shall not kill or harm anyone else, and not tell lies, and not steal, and not commit illicit sex, and not take intoxicants. So, telling lies is one of the main principles that we transgress if we tell lies. We should tell the truth only. So, this story was given by the Buddha while He was in residence at Jetavana with reference to Ciñcā Mānavikā. Stretch your legs, stretch your legs. Oh, I forgot. Stretch it, stretch it. Oh, God, ouch, ouch, I'm also getting old like you two. Oh! My knees are telling me that they exist. (Let me give You a massage, Master.) No. Why bother? It’s too much trouble. What if you’re gone tomorrow? I’ll get used to it and no one to give me a massage. I’ll keep looking and find no one. It’s troublesome! This probably is told by Ananda also. Most of the stories were told by Ananda and it says, “Thus I have heard.” But this one, translated, he omitted that. It just says, “This instruction was given by the Teacher.” He doesn't even say the Buddha. What a translation! Of course, Buddha means “Teacher,” “Master,” but different. Wise, compassionate, powerful, not just any teacher. So he should not translate it as “Teacher” here. He should have said just “Buddha” then. “Buddha” or “Master.” Like, for example, Guru Nanak would have been much different from any other Sikh guru at that time. Or Krishna would be a different guru than any other Hindu master at that time, or teacher at that time. There is a big difference. But the inside is different. The outside doesn’t look different; therefore, people cannot tell. Unless you are initiated by that guru, and then you can tell. You can tell because (of) inside experience. OK, this one is about a girl from a Brahmin family. “For the first period after Enlightenment, the disciples of the Master,” means the Buddha, “multiplied and innumerable gods and men entered on the plane of the Noble Ones.” Spiritual practice. “And as the glory of His virtues became widely known, rich gain and high honor were bestowed upon Him. But, as for the sectarians, lost to them were gain and honor alike.” Meaning the Buddha has become more and more famous. But the sectarians, the non-Buddhist practitioners outside, lost. They lost their fame, they lost their gain, they lost the trust from their disciples, maybe the public at large, because they all flocked to the Buddha then. So, “Even as the fireflies lost their brilliance before the coming of the sun, and they gathered together in the street and cried out, ‘Is the monk, Gautama, the only Buddha? We also are Buddhas!’” They proclaimed like that. They felt so frustrated, disappointed because the Buddha became so much famous and many people followed Him. And people also left them. “They said, ‘We are also the Buddhas. Does that alone which is given to him, yield abundant fruit?’” They’re asking questions. “That which is given to us brings also abundant fruit.” Meaning don't just give offerings to the Buddha, give offerings to us, you’ll also have merit just the same. That's what they meant. OK, jealousy. Also ignorance. Different. These other teachers, they just talk, they just preach, but they don't have enough power to liberate people. They don't have the inner realization to manifest true wisdom. That is the difference. But they don't know that. So you can't even blame them. They're ignorant. They did not understand the true inner power of the Buddha. They just think, “He looks like me, He looks like us. He also shaves His head and wears the monk’s robe and goes begging like us. So, what's the difference? Why make offering and praise to the Buddha, and not to us?” This is similar like that. Because they really did not understand. They probably did not mean bad, they just did not understand what Buddha, what an enlightened Saint, really means. “Therefore, you, all people, give alms to us, bestow honor upon us.” Means go praise them and (make) offering to them. “With such words as these did they appeal to the multitude, but for all their appeal they got neither gain nor honor.” They did go out and make propaganda for themselves, but they got nothing out of that. “Accordingly, they met together in secret and considered within themselves, ‘By what means can we cast reproach upon the monk, Gautama, in public, and so put an end to the gain and honor bestowed upon Him?’” They were thinking of some wicked scheme, trying to defame the Buddha, in secret, these people, these mundane sectarian teachers, who had no wisdom, no enlightenment, no power, just wanted fame and name. Maybe like one of you, one of the people you mentioned before. Maybe some of them. Of course, everywhere in every country there are such people. It takes some great affinity and sincerity in order to discern who is who. Because outside looks the same anyway, right? Outside looks the same, all humans look the same. I look like her and she looks like me. I look like her, and she looks like me. The hair only, but she's a Quebecois. Quebecois. Yeah, Quebecois. Qeebec or Quebec? (Quebec.) Quebecois. They speak different French. I had some friends, I met some of them before, in Cayman. They're Quebecois. They said they spoke French, but I understood nothing. They did speak French, it's just a different accent. You don't understand a thing what they are saying. I thought they’re speaking Greek or something. “Now, at that time there lived in Sravasti a certain wandering nun named Ciñcā Mānavikā.” A nun. Mark this. Not a normal girl, a nun. “She possessed such surpassing beauty and loveliness.” Wow! “A very celestial nymph was she. From her body proceeded forth rays of light even.” Wow! She's not a normal nun. She had some good aura, some spiritual gain already. So, listen. “Now, a certain harsh counselor made this proposal to them,” to this group of jealous teachers, sectarian teachers. “They said, ‘OK. If we engage the assistance of this woman, we shall be able to cast reproach upon the monk Gautama.’” “Gautama” means the…? (Buddha.) The Buddha. They did not call Him the Buddha or Master respectfully. They were just jealous. They called Him by His worldly name, Gautama, the Prince Gautama. But you see, I thought because I was a Vietnamese (Aulacese) woman, born in Vietnam (Âu Lạc) and a small woman, don't look anything special, so some people don't like. But the Buddha also, you see, had problems. Jesus also had problems. Buddha was even a prince and He forsook all His kingdoms and richness and 500 wives, or some more, and His winter palace, summer palace, just to become a monk, to seek enlightenment. Still, they thought He just wanted fame and gain. People are not all very reasonable because of ignorance. So now, they wanted to defame Him before all of His disciples, in the public even, disciples and followers. So they were trying to get this woman to do just that. Because this woman, though she was a nun and had light even, and she was beautiful, beautiful and lovely. So all these sectarian teachers agreed to this proposal. “Ciñcā Mānavikā went to the monastery of the sectarians, saluted them and stood waiting. But the sectarians had nothing to say to her. So thereupon she said, ‘What fault do you find in me?’” She was thinking they brought her there to scold her or something. “This question she repeated three times. Then she said, ‘Noble sirs, I appeal to you for an answer. Noble sirs, what fault do you find in me?’” Means, “What's wrong? What wrong do you think about me? Why do you not speak to me?” I wonder why. I think they were too ashamed to say anything. They didn't know what to do. “So at the end they said, ‘Sister…’” They explained to her. “They said, ‘Sister, don’t you know the monk Gautama, who goes about doing us harm?’” They’re also the same sect, same Brahmin. So maybe that's why they said He goes around doing “us” harm, meaning, including her. “‘Depriving us of gain and honor alike?’ So the woman said, ‘No, sir, I do not know Him. But is there anything I can do to help you in this matter?’ So they said…” The teachers, the sectarian teachers said, “‘Sister, if you wish us well, summon all your resources, contrive to cast reproach upon the monk Gautama, and so put an end to the gain and honor that people bestow upon Him.’ So Ciñcā Mānavikā replied, ‘Very well, noble sirs, I will take all the responsibility. Have no anxiety as to the outcome.’” Meaning, “Consider it done.” What a nun, and what monks they are, the whole group of them. “So then she departed.” “From that time on…” Because they called her to come because somebody advised them that this woman, if you engage her, you can defame the Buddha. But they also didn't know what to do. So they just called her there, and then she stood there, and they stood there, and they didn't know what to say.

(Da.) (Inacceptabil, Maestră.) Inacceptabil!
