In Shining World Compassion Award News from Ukraine…
Within just days after Russia invaded Ukraine, vegan activist sisters Marta Ostrovska and Oksana Khomiak founded Lviv Vegan Kitchen, offering all-plant-based meals free of charge to their fellow Ukrainians after seeing a real need.
“It was the first week of the full-scale Russian invasion. We were volunteering at the railway station, meeting people, making some sandwiches for them. And we spent all night there because of the curfew. And it was very stressful. There was almost no food. And we wanted to make something vegan and something more comfortable so people could feel more safe, more like before the war. We had no money. We had nothing. We just used our social media and people started gathering some food, money, and we started working on the very next day.”
Starting from scratch, the brave sisters and one other volunteer teamed up with a friend’s vegan restaurant in Lviv. They have since been unconditionally serving hot vegan meals to between 200 and 500 people daily as well as sending vegan food packages to families and frontline defenders across Ukraine.
“Also, we are not only serving food here, we also ship vegan humanitarian (food) aid to vegans all over Ukraine. We’ve already shipped about 600 parcels to civilian vegans and vegans in the armed forces as well.”
In recognition of their dedicated work, Supreme Master Ching Hai presented “the Shining World Compassion Award to Lviv Vegan Kitchen, plus a US$20,000 humble contribution to support this benevolent endeavor, with love and best wishes.”
Oksana and Marta cheerfully received the Award letter, crystalline plaque, Vegans R Heroes hats, Master’s publications and DVDs, as well as Her financial contribution. Our Association members also used their own funds and bought about 600 kilograms of vegan food, including textured soy protein, rice, buckwheat, groats, oats, pasta, canned tomatoes, corn, peas, cooking oil, seasoning, plus other food supplies for them.
“From Supreme Master Ching Hai, for the Vegan Kitchen in Lviv. In recognition of selflessly nourishing refugees during war, providing displaced persons free hot plant-based meals, lovingly uplifting our planet through peaceful food… With gratitude, we laud the caring, vital culinary deeds of Lviv Vegan Kitchen. May Heaven shield and bless all involved in this noble mission.” And it’s signed, “With Honour, Love and Blessings in God’s Mercy, Supreme Master Ching Hai.”
“Thank You, Supreme Master Ching Hai, and thank you, all the folks and all the team. The largest donation we got was from Supreme Master.”
“I want to say thank you to all the people from your organization and from all around the world for all the help and support we receive. It means the world to us. We are forever grateful, and God bless you.”
We sincerely thank brave Marta, Oksana, and Lviv Vegan Kitchen for the nourishment you wholeheartedly provide to numerous individuals in this turbulent time. May Heaven’s grace forever be with you and all the peace-loving people of Ukraine.

New space telescope unveils farthest and clearest pictures of cosmos ever taken.
On July 12, 2022, the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) released a debut series of full-color images and spectroscopic data captured by the James Webb Space Telescope. As the world’s most powerful and largest observatory instrument ever commissioned in space, the device features unparalleled infrared sensitivity and the ability to look back in time over 13.5 billion years to see the first galaxies born following the Big Bang, which is the farthest humanity has ever viewed. The collection includes stunning images of galaxy clusters SMACS 0723 and Stephan’s Quintet. Also released were pictures of dying star Southern Ring Nebula and interstellar clouds Carina Nebula, approximately 2,000 and 8,500 light-years away, respectively. We are truly in awe, NASA, of these snapshots from space! As we unravel the myriad mysteries of the universe, let us offer our most profound gratitude to our beloved God for all Hiers fascinating and miraculous creations. Up next on Noteworthy News, Queensland, Australia, prohibits more single-use plastic items from 2023. We pause to thank the vegan rabbis who spread the message of veganism and compassionate living as mentioned in the Jewish commandment of “Tza'ar ba'alei chayim,” or a ban on causing unnecessary suffering to animal-people. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more conducive news.
Hi, adorable friends, I’m Rizzo, a vegan girl from the Grizzly Bear kingdom. As giving is our nature, we should also give our noble animal friends the freedom to live in peace and happiness. And this is what the kindhearted plant-based lifestyle is all about! I would like to share a handy tip. If your tape measure has the feature where there is a hole in the hook, you can measure things much easier. This opening latches onto the head of a screw or nail and prevents the tape from popping free. Not all tape measures have this, but please pay attention the next time you are using one! Thank you for tuning in and love you for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet, thus save the world. Now, the global weather.
Australian state bans more single-use plastic items from 2023.
The government of Queensland, Australia has announced that beginning September 2023, more types of single-use plastic items, namely plastic microbeads, polystyrene packing peanuts and plastic-stemmed cotton buds, will cease to be sold. This is an expansion of a program banning single-use plastic shopping bags in 2018 and certain single-use plastic food products in 2021. The Queensland environment minister, the Honorable Meaghan Scanlon, said that the government appreciated the voluntary actions by many businesses to take further steps in using plastic-free items and will “work with retailers, community groups and suppliers” to help them gain access to alternative products. Queensland is a Shining World Leadership Award for Good Governance recipient and a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion laureate. Such encouraging news, Queensland, Australia, on your efforts to ensure the realization of a greener future for our planet. May we adopt all measures, beginning with the vegan diet, to create a sustainable and compassionate world, in the joy of the Providence.
European Commission will distribute €600 million to assist regions affected by food crisis.
The announcement was made by the President of the European Commission, Her Excellency Dr. Ursula von der Leyen, at the 2022 European Development Days, a forum promoting international cooperation to address worldwide challenges. Dr. von der Leyen said the funding would help with the food shortage situation and economic conditions that have been worsened by the war in Ukraine. The money will be used to support African, Caribbean and Pacific nations and will provide humanitarian assistance as well as sustainable production and resilience of food systems and macro-economic support. The financing is in addition to the European Union’s previous contribution of €3 billion for global food security. The European Union is a recipient of four Shining World Leadership Awards for Humanitarianism, two Shining World Leadership Awards for Peace, and a Shining World Leadership Award for Earth Protection; as well as a laureate of two Shining World Leadership Awards for Humanitarianism and Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Unconditional World Care and True Caring. Well done, European Commission, for seeking to assist the millions of people around the globe who have been affected by the war. In Divine benediction, may conflict soon become a thing of the past as we elevate into a world of peace and harmony.
Police in China brave swift floodwaters to rescue woman trapped in car.
In the city of Yingde in Guangdong, a southern Chinese province, residents were significantly affected by a deluge in late June. The police made phone contact with one victim unable to leave or drive her vehicle, and thus were able to find her location. They then made their way through the fast-moving waters to her car and saved her with the help of a rope put around her for safety. Fortunately, she was unharmed by the incident. The rescue can be seen in a clip uploaded on the social media platform Weibo by the Yingde City Public Security Bureau. Thank you, Yingde City Public Security Bureau, for courageously taking quick action to save the woman’s life and aiding others affected by the flood. May you and all city residents quickly recover from this calamity, in Buddha’s blessings. Vegan: the green revolution doesn’t need weapons.

Missing dog-person in Brazil rescued by caring fireman and reunited with family.
Fireman Juninho Giugni was informed of a little dog-person wandering the streets alone and dressed in a clean sweater. The canine-individual was lost but seemed to be someone’s companion. On the other side of town, an utterly heartbroken 11-year-old boy named Leandro had his dog friend Mili disappear from his home a few days previously. His family had been desperately searching for their beloved companion ever since. Juninho, who had been asking around to locate Mili’s caregivers, eventually heard about Leandro’s family’s intensive search for Mili. Mr. Giugni said, “When we arrived, he was crying tears of relief. Their reunion was magical.” Leandro was overwhelmed with joy to have his dog pal home again. Our accolades, Juninho Giugni, for taking the time to help reunite Mili and Leandro. In God’s sheltering Embrace, may all lost animal-people find their homes once again.
The joke of the day is now ready to jump out of the hilarity box, so let’s get prepared. It’s called “Too Many Sheep-people.”
Josh has insomnia and seeks help from a doctor. The doctor asks:
“OK. This might sound a little basic, but have you tried counting sheep-people?”
“Of course, doctor, but I can’t get past 5,000 by the time the alarm goes off.”
And now we have a heartline from Jargal in Mongolia:
Greetings to the Supreme Master TV team. We are a vegan family. Even my two cat-people companions love their vegan food. One of them is Coco. She is now five months old. She loves to watch the cute animal-people shows on Supreme Master TV. But when Supreme Master TV shows the cruel suffering of the poor animal-people, she doesn’t watch. May all humans awaken their inner loving quality to love all animal-persons and people everywhere and promptly become vegan. Jargal from Mongolia
Joyful Jargal, Our appreciation for your heartline. We are delighted that your cat-person companion likes to watch Supreme Master TV! The fact that she is selective about what she views is a testament to the profound sensitivity of our animal friends. Unfortunately, we now have to expose their suffering to humans to help them to understand what a grave mistake they are making. May the Buddhas of the ten directions guide you and vast Mongolia to ever-higher levels of consciousness and inner peace, Supreme Master TV team
Vegan side effect: might hear animal-people talk w/o a telephone.
