In today’s news, China donates rice and wheat to drought-affected Zimbabwe. Alaska, United States glaciers melting longer each year as warming intensifies, South Korean scientists discover low-temperature way to recycle polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic, Turkish students generate electricity for school use by pedaling stationary bicycles, UK vegetarian restaurant provides free meals to those in need, Singaporean company releases new high-protein soy milk brand, and Hawaii, United States residents and animal-folk welfare group volunteers rescue displaced animal-people after historic floods.

If you’re doing any moving, remember to tie down your items safely with solid ratchet straps! And today, I have a handy tip for an efficient way to roll up a long ratchet strap using a cordless drill and two sturdy nails about 7-10 centimeters (3-4 inches) long. Insert the two nails into the drill chuck, keeping them parallel with a small gap of about 6 millimeters (¼ inch) between them, then tighten the chuck securely so they don’t wobble. Take the end of the strap and slide it into the gap between the nails, holding it lightly in place. Start the drill slowly so the strap begins wrapping evenly, then gently guide it with your free hand to keep it straight and tight. In just a few seconds, the drill neatly rolls up the entire strap with minimal effort.

Let’s bring a little fun into our lives with the joke of the day. This one is entitled, “The Efficient Clock.”

Ms. Charleen called over her handyman neighbor to take a look at her electric clock.

“Please help me fix my electric clock.”

The handyman examined it for a moment, then looked up puzzled.

“There’s nothing wrong with your clock. It isn’t even plugged in!”

“Of course not. I don’t want to waste electricity, so I only plug it in when I want to know what time it is.”

?!

And now we have a heartline in German, with multiple-language subtitles, from a disciple in Germany
