Madhulika Singh and Tony Sehgal, not only love animals and care deeply about our environment, but also follow the planet-saving vegan diet.

“I went vegan shortly after watching a documentary that really opened my eyes to the impact of animal livestock industry on our environment. I'd always considered myself an environmentalist. I majored in biology before going into filmmaking and I was completely unaware of the impact animal livestock industry has on the environment specifically, let alone animal suffering and health. So once I realized that I felt unless I went vegan, I couldn't consider myself an environmentalist.”

“Well, one of the leading causes of climate change is animal livestock industry. We make very inefficient use of land and water for raising animals and the crops for animals. And the meat industry also produces more greenhouse gases than all forms of transportation, whether it's land or sea or air, all combined together. And in making inefficient use of land, we keep cutting forests We are deforesting the Amazon. We are deforesting many different rain forests to produce more and more crops for our animals that we'll consume. And it's very inefficient.” “And currently we are going through the sixth mass extinction, and all this is really depleting our Earth and creating a climate change. So if we adopt a vegan lifestyle, if we don't need animal food, animal accessories, like leather belts, leather wallets, leather shoes, then we will not need animal farming. So we will strike down a very huge cause of climate change.”

Supreme Master Ching Hai also says that a vegan diet is a solution to global warming. “Adopting a plant-based diet can halt as much as 80% of global warming, eradicate world hunger, stop war, promote peace, and it will free up the Earth's water as well as many other precious resources, offering a lifeline for the planet and for humanity. In short, it will very quickly halt many of the global problems facing us right now. Therefore, it is vital that we change our lifestyle – setting a noble example for others to follow, and do our part to bring to the public's attention the urgent climate change issues and its solutions; the foremost being vegan diet, the vegan diet, to safeguard our precious planet.”
