Any questions, new ones? Do you have any questions? No? Really? No? Australian people are very enlightened kids. (Master, I arrived on Monday, and I was sick on the plane and got here late Monday night, and when I went to meditate, the [inner Heavenly] Sound… everything went, the [inner Heavenly] Sound’s gone and hasn’t come back. And I don’t know what’s happened.) What hasn’t come back? (The [inner Heavenly] Sound.) The (inner Heavenly) Sound hasn’t come back? (Isn’t there.) Never mind. Tomorrow, I think there’s an initiation. Any one of you who felt that you have missed the first part or have forgotten, may sit together there. There is writing on the board or not? (Yes, Master. There is at two o’clock.) Today? (I think so. I didn’t get to hear the…) Oh, OK. Maybe it was supposed to be at four o’clock. Maybe that person arrived late or something. You yourself have to check also. Because we are vegan. OK? Nine o’clock tomorrow morning. Maybe… Always look for the writing. The writing is safer.

[You] got sick on the plane? (Actually, I had food poisoning from the food, food serving. And then I got here late Monday night and saw the doctor here, and then from that point on I was meditating; the [inner Heavenly] Sound just went.) Oh, really? (I heard nothing.) Oh, really? (I talked to a nun about it, and she said, “Pray to Master to…” So I prayed.) Alright, it will come back. Don’t worry. OK? Which doctor did you see? (I don’t know. Someone You brought in on Monday night.) Oh, the woman? (It was a man.) A man. (I don’t know.) Did he have a bald head? A little bald? (No, no, no.) Short? Skinny or fat? (Skinny.) Oh, then it’s... (He wasn’t short though, but he was probably...) Oh, a little bit high. (Yes.) And a little skinny. (Yes.) OK. OK. That is the real doctor. (Yes. Or the dentist.) Huh? (Or the dentist. They said You called him in from the city to come.) Then it’s not. Then it’s not the local one. It’s not the resident one. (I don’t think so.) Is it the massaging doctor? Massage? (No.)

There was a doctor on Monday. Someone sent him in. They said they don’t send a doctor here when it’s not really an emergency. In case of emergency, we always take them to the hospital nearby. How about the man with the broken...? (He didn’t, no. He’s just taking it easy.) It’s alright now? He’s working? (He’s working now.) (Yes.) Oh, I’m very sorry, whoever the doctor is here, I’ll find out. To make “revenge” for you. I think it (the inner Heavenly Sound) will come back, don’t worry about it. What did you do? What did he do to you? (Oh. He just gave me some tablets.) That’s it? (Yes.) And you feel better? Physically? (Yes. It took me a day or two.)

What happened to you? You were poisoned or something? (Food.) Food poisoning? (Yes, on the plane. It was special vegetarian food. And I just had cramps, doubled up.) Oh, really? There must’ve been some egg or something inside. (I wasn’t sick, just…) I understand. Oh, terrible! Yeah. Sometimes, the food on airplanes is not very hygienic enough or not quite pure. They might have put some eggs inside without knowing. (You can order salad.) Yeah, you can tell, but sometimes you forget to tell. (Yes, this was special food though because they knew we were vegetarian [vegan] and all that.) Eggs are “special” food?

Hallo. Maybe they’ll eat at four o’clock? Or at seven or six o’clock? They’re supposed to have group meditation at six o’clock, right? Then we’ll check the number of people beforehand. Whoever wants to may listen one more time. Can let them sit here. Yes. Yes. Really? Oh. Is it OK or not? Designate one person to explain specifically to them every day. Someone who understands English. Find her at the same time, OK? Yeah. Find a translator for them. Otherwise where to go to? Will it be noisy? Alright, alright. You go ahead and arrange it. Do it for them every day, if possible. Is it OK? Then it’ll be convenient for them. The foreigners are in a pitiful situation. Alright. OK. OK. So today around six o’clock, they will give instructions until eight o’clock. Whoever needs to go listen again once more in English, please contact the person down there.

You have to make sure what you want. (But I would love it if I was with You, and being trained by You. But, to stay here, when You are somewhere else… to be trained here, I think I would “die.”) I would prefer, also, there’s added flavor, not just a recipe. It’s the know-how and the familiarity. The people with talent, it’s very difficult; and you are very talented, but you’re very impatient. Of course, I can use you; if I was such a very organized and political guru, I could make use of all of you. I type instructions, “Here, you become commissioner,” and now everybody can be. But what will that become? I cannot envision it right now. Why don’t you just stay with me for a while and then we’ll talk later. OK? Don’t come with such a rush hour of traffic and say, “Master, I have one week for You. Now, train me, or I die.” This is not a circle of life and death issue.

I know you’re a Westerner, and I know you are very OK, but I don’t know if you can withstand the hardship. (Somehow, I feel like I get the hardship anyway.) Oh, yes. (Yes.) But you know what I mean. Even then, we have to sacrifice a lot. You have to meditate more than usual. To be a Quan Yin Messenger, you meditate four to six hours a day (Oh.) and no nonsense. Yeah.

(Sorry, that was my question. What do You feel we really should be meditating as we go along, sort of year by year? Because I feel two and a half hours…) You mean you do more mediation also? (Yes.) Of course, yes, the more, the better for you. (Right.) But I cannot force anybody. (What would You say would be a minimum that we should be trying to get?) Any is welcome. Did I ever write down and say forbidden, half an hour (extra). (No.) (You’re out!) No, the more, the better for you. (Sixteen years.) It’s like money. You earn more, it’s better for you. What can you earn?

Yes? (You said we could stay here?) Sure. (And learn more.) Yeah. (But...) When I’m not here, right? (No, no. I’d like to go and see my parents. I haven’t seen them for two years, and for the last 18 years, I was not staying with them. For the last 18 years I saw them all together, one year. And I feel that they are getting old and...) What do you want me to do now? What do you want? (Oh, I want to ask, if I leave now and if it’s possible, I come back later?) Sure, no problem. And besides, even if you stay here, you may go and see your parents too. You are not a prisoner here. (No.) Go see your family anytime you want. All the monks here go sometimes to see their family. And when they have a funeral or something, many monks accompany them too, (I’d like to.) if it’s not too far. Go meditate for them, we send money and flowers and all kinds of things. Now, I’m just very practical. So what now? You can go anytime you want. Alright? (I’d like to see them.)

People (residents) here… I don’t mean you cannot go anywhere. But I mean that you’re definitely devoted to the job. You see what I mean? Like a monk’s life. And, of course, they go somewhere too. I send them to America, to Europe, anywhere. Sometimes they volunteer to go, or sometimes I say this person goes there because he speaks English better or more affinity, things like that. See? It’s not that you stay here forever, definitely not. But what I mean is you must be dedicated. You understand me? And here is your home or wherever my base is, is your home, things like that. Not that you come here for a few days, and then you go back and earn money and then... You can do that too, but then, I don’t know if… (That’s the difficulty, wanting to be responsible or to be independent, to be able to help out and still work and come here and all this.) Yes, yes. Well, I will think about it.

You stay as a guest, or you stay as a resident, it’s different. You know what I mean? (Yes.) Not that because I’m here, you say “Of course, I stay,” anybody says that. But all the monks and nuns here, they stay through thick and thin. Sometimes, I don’t come here for one year, and they still stay. But after a while, they’re used to it and they don’t want to leave. Of course, they will go out and give initiation to people and come back to recharge themselves. Everybody goes for six months. A long time. And after six months, they’re entitled to rest. Only [in an] emergency that that person will go out again. Otherwise, after six months, he[/she] rests for maybe two, three months or six months, then he[/she] can go out again if he[/she] wishes to or needs. So people take turns and do some work.

Sometimes, you think the American people love to see American faces and to be talked to in the American language, but it’s not necessary always. Look at all the gurus, Yogananda, Muktananda, Guru Maharaj Ji. (Yes. But the people that work for them are diverse or American.) Well, if I have them, of course. (Yes.) I don’t have them. (That’s true.) You think all these are Americans? No. (No.) Mostly Australian. It’s alright also. It’s alright. It doesn’t matter. It’s the same. But only if I stay in the West, things like that. Or maybe I’ll stay longer. Look. Now, we have a Center in San Jose. (Right.) Maybe I’ll go there and stay longer. But I don’t see any Westerners there, only you. (They are there. They are there.)

(Oh, I just thought that maybe it’s… You went on the tour, and I heard about You in Asia. I looked and read so many magazines. And I was always looking at You and going,“Oh, She was there! I was there!” But I had no idea. Maybe I wasn’t ready to get this meeting. But, maybe it’s because in America, in the place that I live, all of the groups, they’re segregated. And mainly the Westerners there, they did not learn about You because they weren’t, they didn’t…) Oh, we put advertisements in all the newspapers whenever I come. (But it’s very cheap to advertise in community papers.) Then why don’t you do it? (No, no. But the communities like the small ethnic, the Spanish communities, the Aulacese [Vietnamese]… The paper is like US$50 for a whole page, and it’s US$5,000 for a whole page ##in a bigger American paper.) Alright. We sometimes advertise in the county paper and in an English newspaper. But remember when I was in America, all the Aulacese (Vietnamese) and Chinese came. We advertised more in English than in Chinese and Aulacese (Vietnamese). Still, all the Asians came. The Westerners didn’t come, not that many. Well...

(I don’t know why, but I feel ever since I met You, I feel like I want more than I have, that is here. And I was always thinking, when I go back, like how I can help to…) Well, whatever you know, you tell them. You organize a (vegan) tea and biscuits party. Invite them to come and watch the video. Then people will ask who that is. You say, “Well, that’s my Teacher, (Yes.) my meditation Teacher.” Finished. Very easy. Right? “Oh, She teaches some meditation technique, and it helps my life, and it’s very easy, and everybody can learn, even children can learn.” Things like that. And when they’re interested, they’ll ask for more. Then you say, “It will give peace to your life and more loving kindness or more wisdom, more intelligence, and more efficiency in your work,” things like that. It’s very easy. And then once they ask more, you give them a book, some tapes and say, “Why don’t you come again and whatever you want to, you ask me,” and then OK, if they’re ready, just report to us, and then we send somebody to give initiation. Very easy. Or if you can, of course, we can make you a representative to give initiation too. See, but this takes time. I hate it when I have to type it all on a piece of paper, then you read it (to the initiates-to-be): “Oh, sit down, let me read it for you.” It looks so cheap. See what I mean?
