Germany supports internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Iraq.

Germany has contributed €8 million to the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), which will go towards humanitarian aid for thousands of internally displaced families and returnees across Iraq. This contribution is crucial in providing ongoing care such as protection services and cash assistance. The generous donation demonstrates Germany’s commitment to supporting IDPs in Iraq, and bring the country’s total contribution to UNHCR to over €185 million since 2014. Germany is a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion and a Shining World Caring Leadership Award laureate. Our sincere appreciation, Germany, for your kind assistance to those in need in Iraq. May Heaven safeguard all displaced persons and refugees with shelter, peace and stability.

Africa certified as free of wild polio.

The Africa Regional Certification Commission confirmed that the World Health Organization’s African Region, consisting of 47 countries, is now officially free from wild polio, or naturally occurring polio. The announcement comes after four years without a case in the region, signifying that 90% of the world’s population, or five of the six World Health Organization regions, is now free from this form of the virus. This achievement was made following a promise by African leaders in 1996 to eradicate the serious health issue, which has since involved the immunizations of some 220 million children every year. Congratulations, African nations, World Health Organization, and all involved, for helping to end polio in the African Region. May citizens of all countries thrive in excellent well-being, in Celestial care.

Up next, new technology advances virtual classrooms and meetings. We will pause for a moment to thank prep cooks who pre-cook vegan ingredients and perform many tasks to assist the chef. Will return with more hopeful news after these messages here on Supreme Master Television.

Australia increases cigarette taxes again.

The Australian government recently raised the tax on cigarettes by 12.5%, the second increase this year. With the highest tobacco prices in the world, a pack of 20 cigarettes in the country now costs US$25 or more. The government hopes to discourage the detrimental habit through taxation, and has seen the rate of smoking in the country decline from 20% in 2001 to around 14% in 2018. Now, in the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic, four times as many smokers in Australia have tried to stop the habit due to health concerns of the virus affecting smokers more seriously. Australia is a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion recipient and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Health Guardian and High Moral Value laureate. Our respectful salute, Australian government, for your wise policy. In God’s favor, we pray that such measures, as well as outright bans on all toxic consumable products, will be implemented across the world, as we safeguard human, animal, and environmental health.

People experiencing homelessness in the United Kingdom given smartphones during COVID-19 pandemic.

UK charity organization Crisis, dedicated to helping people living without homes, in partnership with UK-headquartered mobile phone company, Tesco Mobile, will give away over £700,000 worth of smartphones and data, over 12 months, to homeless individuals. Jon Sparkes, Chief Executive of Crisis, explained, “Access to a phone or the internet has been vital for so many people throughout the pandemic to stay connected.” The phones will help users access essential support services, claim income relief, and search for much-needed jobs. Much appreciation and God bless you, Crisis and Tesco Mobile, for this important initiative. May all precious individuals stay safe and receive the help they need, in Heaven’s loving comfort.

United States celebrity goes vegetarian after request from daughter.

Reality TV star Bethenny Frankel, from the show Real Housewives of New York City, recently transitioned to being vegetarian after her 10-year-old daughter Bryn Hoppy asked if they could adopt the diet together. “Bryn wants to be a vegetarian [be]cause she loves animals, so she’s asked me to do it with her,” Ms. Frankel stated on her Instagram story, along with photos of her food, which included a cauliflower-based pizza and vegan tacos. Way to go, Bryn Hoppy for encouraging your mom to adopt a veg diet. Kudos, Bethenny Frankel for supporting your daughter. In God’s grace, may you both help to inspire others to step up and choose the noble vegan way of living, as we honor the sacred lives of our gentle animal friends.

Non-profit helps stray animals in India have access to safe drinking water.

Founded in 2017 by Lakshman Molleti of Hyderabad, India, the Animals Welfare Bowl Project (AWBP) has distributed 3,500 free water bowls to individuals committed to caring for thirsty, stray animals, including wild birds. Volunteers are required to keep the bowl clean, fill it with water daily, and inspire others by posting pictures on social media of animals using the bowl. AWBP currently operates in the states of Telangana and Maharashtra, where they hold educational activities on the importance of animal welfare. Mr. Molleti, a vegan, said, “This world will be more balanced if every human on this planet lives a simple lifestyle and supports all animals equally.” Heaven’s blessings, Lakshman Molleti and the Animals Welfare Bowl Project, for your love and devotion to serving our animal co-inhabitants. May all beings be showered in the Divine’s everlasting benevolence. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Gratefully present the Shining World Compassion Award to Lakshman Molleti and the Animals Welfare Bowl Project, plus a US$10,000 contribution to humbly support this noble work. May you and all involved be forever protected in Heaven’s mercy.”

We have a joke of the day to relax your mind. It’s called “Plural It Is.”

“What is the plural of ‘baby?’ Does anybody know?”

And now we have a heartline from Kelly in Brazil:

Hallo, dear Supreme Master Ching Hai and saints of Supreme Master Television. Last Christmas, I met dear Master Ching Hai for the first time in 13 years. I was very grateful and ecstatic. Our dear Master possesses the tremendous power of the Universe. When I saw Master, my whole body felt light as if I were floating in the air. There was a magical power pouring from top to bottom. Here, I would like to thank my dear Master who is like a beacon, guiding me all the way in this illusionary world so that I won’t lose myself again, and I can realize the meaning of life and spiritual practice. Being accompanied by Supreme Master Television every day makes me remember dear Master and feel the positive energy all the time. When I watch Supreme Master Television, I feel wonderful and comfortable as if I were in Heaven, which makes me deeply feel the unparalleled power of God. During my stay in the New Land Ashram, the air was fresh, and the place is a paradise on Earth! We are really grateful to God and Master for having such a holy land where we can meditate and rest. I was very reluctant to leave, and I have been missing the New Land Ashram all the time since I left.

We are also grateful to our Supreme Master Ching Hai for giving donations to the relief efforts in Brazil. I also thank the Supreme Master Television team for quietly working hard to light a torch which brightens the whole world, and to spread and promote positive energy. Supreme Master Television is full of God's energy and blessings. In Brazil, there is a growing number of large and small vegan restaurants. There are many companies that produce vegan food as well. We have a variety of vegan options. My family also actively promotes vegan food, and many people appreciate vegan food very much. Finally, thank You very much, Master, for Your hard work and dedication to help this world, and for guiding the Supreme Master Television team to make contributions to this world! I always love You and miss You, my dear Master; I wish You good health and forever young! Kelly from Brazil
