The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 1 of 4 - The Origin of the Creation

The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 1 of 4 - The Origin of the Creation

Since time immemorial, our planet has been graced with Light-bringers, enlightened Beings who embody spiritual wisdom and offer it for the benefit of humanity. On this special occasion celebrating the Three-Year Anniversary of Supreme Master Television, we are honored to present “The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World.” This four-part series represents a compilation of some of the most powerful and illuminating excerpts from Words of Wisdom which, as you will see, all lead to the same ultimate Divinity. Welcome to Part One: The Origin of the Creation. One of the questions that we are sure to encounter in life is: where does the world come from, and where do we come from? The Holy Bible says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God … Through Hirm all things were made, and without Hirm nothing was made that has been made.” Taoism Tao Te Ching Chapter 1: “The name that can be named is not the enduring and unchanging name. (Conceived of as) having no name, it is the Originator of heaven and earth; (conceived of as) having a name, it is the Mother of all things.” Bahá'í Faith The Kitab-I-Aqdas: “He, verily, is the Munificent, the Generous. He has previously made known unto you that which would be uttered by this Dayspring of Divine wisdom. He said, and He speaks the truth: He is the One Who will under all conditions proclaim: ‘Verily, there is none other God besides Me, the One, the Incomparable, the Omniscient, the All-Informed.’” In a lecture given at Denver University, Colorado, USA on April 10, 1993, Supreme Master Ching Hai revealed more about how we can awaken this extraordinary Source of Heavenly benevolence and compassion. “All Masters, all true Masters, are one. They come from one Source. The highest Master is the Supreme Master, the Almighty, which is in all of you. When we first came here, we were Masters before. We came here, we blessed the world, and we forgot all about our power and our glory. Our energies were also exhausted because we paid attention to outer phenomena. All the Masters who come here are the ones who are awakened in this awareness, and know Their true glory. They can travel the road Home frequently and They can lead us back Home. So there’s no need to discriminate between any Masters. All the religions are founded after the Master has gone; therefore, we have Christianity after Christ, Buddhism after Buddha, etc.”

The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 3 of 4 - The Law of Karmic Retribution

00:15:32

The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 3 of 4 - The Law of Karmic Retribution

Welcome to Part Three – The Law of Karmic Retribution. Different religions may refer differently to karmic retribution, or cause and effect, but it is understood as a concept by all. We have heard of the sayings, “What goes around, comes around,” and “Like attracts like.” Positive actions bring favorable effects, while negative yields unfavorable results, also known as karmic retribution. While the principles of Divine Love and Grace are higher, and may be mercifully applied in the physical realms, karmic retribution is a law that cannot be ignored. The Holy Bible clearly teaches the concept of karma in the often-quoted verse, “As you sow, so shall you reap.” The verse continues, “The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Even in ancient China thousands of years ago, people understood the wisdom of the enlightened Master Confucius, “Do not impose on others what you yourself do not desire.” Buddhism Surangama Sutra: “Ananda, if living beings in the six worlds of existence cease to kill, they will not be subject to the continual round of births and deaths… How then can those who practice great compassion feed on the flesh and blood of living beings?” Sikhism Sri Guru Granth Sahib: “The world eats dead carcasses, living by neglect and greed. Like a goblin, or a beast, they kill and eat the forbidden carcasses of meat. So control your urges, or else you will be seized by the Lord, and thrown into the tortures of hell.” Jainism Bhagavati Aradhana: “To kill any living being amounts to killing oneself. Compassion to others is compassion to one’s own self. Therefore one should avoid violence like poison and thorns (that cause pain).” Cao Đài-ism The Collection of Divine Messages: “If you kill any living being, you shall be punished; no one knows whether a living being may have been an Immortal or a Buddha reincarnating to Earth. As I have said, all life is Me. To destroy life is to attempt to destroy Me. And it is not easy to destroy Me. Teach that to human beings.” In an effort to halt the factory farms and meat-processing plants that kill billions of animals every year, Supreme Master Ching Hai has been speaking out in urgent messages for some time. She asks that all meat-related businesses cease their operations and switch to a more wholesome living. On February 22, 2020, Supreme Master Ching Hai specifically addressed livestock industry owners as well as the fishing, egg, milk, fur, laboratory testing, cosmetics and leather industries.

The Kingdom of God, Guru and God are One: Selections from Dadu Dayal (vegetarian): The Compassionate Mystic, Part 1 of 2

The Kingdom of God, Guru and God are One: Selections from Dadu Dayal (vegetarian): The Compassionate Mystic, Part 1 of 2

One such great spiritual teacher is Sant (Saint) Dadu Dayal from the same tradition as Saint Kabir. He lived during the 16th century. “Dadu” means brother and “Dayal” is “the Compassionate One.” Dadu first met his Guru at the early age of 11 while playing with friends near a pond. He was initiated by this teacher into the “Everlasting Knowledge of God.” Dadu paid little attention to the external forms of worship, such as visits to temples and pilgrimages. Instead, he concentrated on Japa (repetition of Divine Names) as well as remembrance of the original divine source and his inner connection and whole-hearted devotion to God. The group of Dadu’s followers are known as the Dadu Panth and refrain from alcohol and uphold vegetarianism. Sant Dadu Dayal did not leave any written records. But 5,000 of his verses, or oral teachings were recorded by his disciple Rajjab and are known as the Dadu Anubhav Vani, composed in the local Braj Bhasha language, a mixture of Hindi and Rajasthani. Dadu: The Compassionate Mystic is an English translation collection of Dadu Dayal’s poems by Dr. Kashi Nath Upadhyaya. Today we are going to share with you some of the enlightening verses selected from this collection. LIFE WITHOUT GURU IS WASTED “Human life is wasted if a perfect Guide who can join the broken link and take one to the other shore is not found, and if works pleasing to God are not done. Forsaking God and running after the pleasures of the world is like throwing aside priceless diamonds and picking up useless stones. If such a one who can mend the broken connection And take one across to the other shore is not found, The opportunity is lost again, says Dadu. This body is a raft, and the world is an ocean, deep and unfathomable. How can anyone cross it and go to the other shore without the Sailor? asks Dadu. I have done nothing that could please God. My coming to this world has been in vain, O Dadu. With what face should one laugh and talk? One is departing, having spent one's priceless life in vain. One should cry, says Dadu. The holy feet of the Lord - the very purpose for which one is to live in the world – are not within one’s heart. Fie on such a life without devotion to God in this Iron Age, O Dadu! You did what was pleasing to your mind And transgressed the commandment of the Lord. How will you show your face to that Beloved? asks Dadu. You did all to please the senses And provided all that the mind demanded. But nothing of that for which you were created Was done by you, O Dadu. You were provided with equipment For rendering service to the Lord. But you have forgotten obedience to the Lord, And not a single work have you accomplished, says Dadu.”

Leaves of Morya’s Garden: Spiritual Guidance Recorded by Nicholas and Helena Roerich (vegetarians), Part 2 of 2

We will now continue with the Venerated Master Morya’s profound and uplifting messages given to his disciples, and through them, to the world. “I rejoice in the smile undimmed by approaching fate. I shall grant the power to create good not with money but with spirit. Full of travail is your life, but vast are the depths of your happiness in the future victory of the spirit. Banish anger, and the path to Us will be easier. Not wrath, but ardent rapture creates. Be imperturbable — your illusions damage your health, but if you have faith in Me, know that you are guarded by the Care and Shield of Morya. Morya is aware of your hardships; a steep ascent is always difficult. To overcome fate requires fortitude. Be not downcast, for you have many times crossed these rapids.” “Be not dismayed at the Teacher’s criticisms. Pupils should rejoice at every message. Contemplate the spiritual guidance of One Teacher. Your spirit presses onward; At the Gates I will await you. My Breath shall warm your hands, and I will guide you along the mountain path to the Temple. Love Me and your power will be multiplied and your strength doubled. Your spirit transports your body beyond the Earth. You must rejoice in the ascension through pure teachings. There is no love greater than love.” “Naught occurs by accident. My Power is with you. We can change Our appearance. Through faith increase your strength.” “Love Me — your Spiritual Teacher. Your destiny is to bring the inextinguishable Light to ardent hearts. Realize the joy of fighting for My Cause. Easy is destruction, but you must build wisely. Being able to help is a great happiness.” “In the Universe all things are but a reflection of the Divine, and in each spark of light the Divine Energy is at play. Light unto all of you!” “Hearken to the Celestial Song, and when on the summits of the mountains pine not for the flowers in the valley. I rejoice in your striving for creation. Miracles are created in life amidst action and in tensed harmony. Dreams are realized not in fairy tales but through happy communion with the Ways of the Blessed Ones. The Teacher is near you at every moment of your creative labor. Learn — and teach.”

Selections from “The World’s Advance Thought” – a Periodical by Lucy A. Mallory (vegetarian): The New Dispensation, Part 1 of 2

00:13:02

Selections from “The World’s Advance Thought” – a Periodical by Lucy A. Mallory (vegetarian): The New Dispensation, Part 1 of 2

“The Spirited Monthly Newspaper – The World’s Advance Thought” was a monthly periodical founded by Lucy A. Mallory in 1886. The paper’s motto was “Love is the way, the truth, and the life.” Mrs. Lucy Mallory contributed her own spiritual writings as well as the inspired contributions of others. She served as writer, editor and publisher of the paper, which had an international readership that included renowned Russian author and vegetarian, Leo Tolstoy. Through this uplifting publication, Lucy Mallory highlighted themes that emphasized the “inner light” of the human being. She also advocated vegetarianism for its loving kindness to other beings. We now share with you selections from the periodical – “The World’s Advance Thought.” “The thought planted in your mind is a seed, and it will grow there and bear fruit of the same kind as the seed you planted. Good thought seeds bear fruit that give good. ‘As ye sow, so shall ye reap.’ Constructive planting is reaping its harvest. Destructive sowing is reaping its harvest. The present-day man has come to his limit. Now comes a Superior Being who will bring the whole world into Divine Union. The Mighty Power of Love shall work its Wonders, and Peace - Divine Peace - shall reign! Spiritualism has rooted now, and will soon begin to bear Spiritual Fruit. The public memory is now going to be long on Good, and short on bad.” “The human soul’s demand for truth being eternally continuous, and the supply being eternally inexhaustible, it is impossible to formulate abiding religious systems of perfection. While a religious system, as a moral influence, may be above the spiritual thought of the mass of its faithful followers, the spiritual thought of individuals will ever be above the most advanced religious system. Creeds, in their highest forms and purest conditions, cannot from the very nature of things dispense and conserve the highest spiritual truth; they express past conceptions, and must, therefore, ever be behind the most advanced spiritual thought.” “The Light that lights every one that comes into the world, and all intelligences above and below, as well as in the degree of the individual, is spiritual consciousness. The season has its degree, as has the planet, and the object of the experiences, each and all, is to expand and extend the consciousness.”

Perek Shira - Singing Praises to the Creator: From “In Front of the Blind” by the Reverend Rabbi Asa Keisar (vegan), Part 1 of 2

Perek Shira - Singing Praises to the Creator: From “In Front of the Blind” by the Reverend Rabbi Asa Keisar (vegan), Part 1 of 2

The Reverend Rabbi Asa Keisar, a Shining World Hero Award Recipient, is an Israeli religious scholar who’s on a mission to spread veganism all across Israel and the world. Strong in his dedication and compassion for all God’s creatures, the Reverend Rabbi Asa Keisar is a frequent lecturer at universities, elementary and high schools, and yeshivot (Jewish educational religious institutions) throughout Israel. His speeches feature statements from the Holy Torah about the incorrectness of consuming animal products, especially in our modern world. The Reverend Rabbi Keisar is also the author of an important Jewish guide, “In Front of the Blind,” or “Velifnei Iver Hashalem.” The book is a collection of excerpts from the Torah, the prophets, the Mishneh Torah, the Talmud, as well as from the Gaonim, Rishonim, and Achronim, which include Jewish spiritual leaders and religious legal scholars from the past and present. Through straightforward holy laws, the selection clearly shows how humans must treat all animals, namely with care and mercy. There is a widespread ancient Jewish text entitled, “Perek Shira” (Chapter of Song), a compilation of praises to God, sung by the Heavens and by His creatures, as the animals, from which the Jewish scholar is sharing some worth-mentioning lines. We will now read from the Reverend Rabbi Keisar’s book, “In Front of the Blind,” the chapter called “The Purpose of Animals.” “The Rooster says: ‘When the Holy One, blessed be He, comes to the righteous in the Garden of Eden, all the trees of the Garden of Eden exude their fragrance, and they rejoice and praise, and then He arouses and praises.’” “The Hen says: ‘He gives bread to all flesh, for His loving kindness endures forever.’” “The Pigeon says before The Holy One, blessed be He: ‘Master of the World, may my sustenance be as bitter as an olive in Your hands, rather than being sweet as honey in the hands of flesh and blood.’” “The Crane says: ‘Give thanks to Hashem with the lyre; play for Him with the ten-stringed harp.’” “The Bird says: ‘A Bird has also found her home and the sparrow a nest for herself where she placed her young; Your altars, Hashem of Hosts – my King and my God.’” “The Swallow says: ‘So that my soul shall sing Your honor and shall not be silent, Hashem my God – I shall forever thank you.’” “The Swift says: ‘My help is from Hashem, Maker of Heaven and Earth.’” “The Petrel says: ‘Light is sown for the righteous, joy for the straight-of-heart.’” “The Bat says: ‘Be comforted, My people, be comforted,’ says your God.”

The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 4 of 4 - The Glorious Transcendence

00:13:52

The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 4 of 4 - The Glorious Transcendence

As we know from previous episodes, we have a noble origin; we are created by a God who wants to help us become unburdened of our endless karma. So it must be possible that we can achieve Transcendence, or freedom from the cycle of death and rebirth. Sant Mat Spiritual Gems By Hazur Maharaj Sawan Singh Ji (vegetarian): “As to the good and bad things or the sin and the virtue, both becoming meaningless, that may be. When you leave the British Territory and pass into the land of the Pathans, who can ask you to account for your deeds? While you are here in the region of Kal (negative force), you have to account for all that you do. Once you cross over to the region of Dayal (Merciful), who can touch you? This applies only when you have actually crossed the boundary of Kal. Until then it is only a saying. But the scroll is torn when you devote yourself to Naam; that is, by practice of Surat Shabd Yoga.” Sikhism Holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib: “Meeting with the True Guru, you shall not have to go through the cycle of reincarnation again; the pains of birth and death will be taken away. Through the Perfect Word of the Shabad (inner Heavenly Sound), all understanding is obtained; remain absorbed in the Name of the Lord. O my mind, focus your consciousness on the True Guru. The Immaculate Naam (God’s Name) itself, ever-fresh, comes to abide within the mind.” Essenes Essene Gospel of Peace: “Seek not the law in your scriptures, for the Law is Life, whereas the scripture is dead. I tell you truly, Moses received not his laws from God in writing, but through the living Word. The Law is living Word of living God to living prophets for living men.” Dadu Dayal The Compassionate Mystic: “God-realization is possible only in the human form. It is solely as a human being that one can cross the vast ocean of the world by riding the boat of the true Name of the Lord.” Supreme Master Ching Hai has spoken on many occasions of this ancient way to connect with our inner Nature, leading to complete liberation. “If we want to know that we are one, we want to truly know it and not just hear it from someone or feel it, we have to really know it. If you want to really know it, it’s not difficult. We only have to turn inward and ‘listen inwardly to our inner Nature,’ then we will find our own Buddha Nature in an instant.”

True Monk: Selections from Jainism's Holy Sutrakritanga Sutra, Book II, Lecture 1 – The Lotus, Part 1 of 2

One of the oldest religions in the world is Jainism, traditionally known as Jain Dharma. Originating from ancient India, this philosophy centers around concepts such as right perception, right knowledge, and right conduct in the attainment of moksha, or realization of the soul’s true nature. Lord Mahavira, who is considered to be the last Tirthankara, was born around the 5-6th century BC,

Selections from “The World’s Advance Thought” – a Periodical by Lucy A. Mallory (vegetarian): The New Dispensation, Part 2 of 2

“Whatever distracts the attention of men from respect and kindness to any form of life; whatever causes them to ignorantly maltreat and despise any form of life; what causes them to praise and glorify a God of Mystery, while ignoring the actual, living, breathing God of Life in all and through all that is and lives, is a detriment to the progress and unfoldment of humanity in the realization of Infinite Intelligence, Infinite Love, Infinite Wisdom and Infinite Harmony.” “Conscious life should be the fragrance of Love and the beauty of Wisdom. Life thus realized begems the pathway of man with the never-dying blossoms of Peace, Happiness, Health, Joy and Prosperity.” “Not with sound of many thunders, Not with miracles and wonders, Would I herald forth my coming from the peaceful Spirit-Shore; But in God’s own Love descending, With your aspirations blending, I would teach you of the future, that you watch and weep no more. God is God from the creation; Truth alone is man’s salvation: But the God that now you worship soon shall be your God no more; For the soul in its unfolding Evermore its thought remoulding, Learns more truly, in its progress how to love and to adore. Evil is of Good twin brother, Born of God, and of none other: And though Truth seems slain of error, through the ills that men deplore, Yet still nearer to Perfection, She shall know a Resurrection, Passing on from ceaseless Glory, unto Glory evermore!” “Ask, and you shall receive. Heaven and hell are both home-made. Heaven is materialized Happiness— What is Love? Yourself is the eternal problem you are solving. Be diligent in Good-Doing, Be absent when ill manifests. The worst mixed problem will work itself out right in time. If you think the Good, some Good will always be in waiting for you. The one who makes the best of all difficulties, gets the best time. Peace of mind keeps us in touch with the Holy Angels of the Lord. All the Good and evil in the world is summed up in the words, Love and hate.” “Make your life a constant benediction to all, for if you don’t— this is the reason why life to you is a curse, instead of blessings. Listen for the Voice from the Silence and you will need no other adviser, and your way will be through pleasant places; the Lord will bless you!”

Selections from “The Astral City” - Chapter 7: Lysias Explains

Selections from “The Astral City” - Chapter 7: Lysias Explains

Numerous books have been written that provide insights into the afterlife and the soul’s immortality. One such volume is “Nosso Lar,” or “The Astral City,” by Spirit André Luiz through Spiritist medium Francisco Cândido Xavier. Francisco Cândido Xavier was a well-known Brazilian philanthropist who co-authored more than 400 books. In “The Astral City,” former medical doctor André Luiz speaks from the afterlife of his awakening and healing within a spiritual society near the Earth’s surface. This story describes not only the continuation of life beyond the physical body, but more importantly, how Heaven cares for each and every human soul. The following excerpt from “The Astral City” describes how André Luiz was strengthened spiritually upon his rescue from the Lower Zones. “‘Death of the physical body does not take man instantly to miraculous spheres. Every evolutionary process progresses through graduation. There are countless planes for discarnate Spirits, just as there are many wondrous regions for those still in flesh. All souls, feelings, forms and things are governed by the principles of natural evolution and hierarchy.’” “‘On the day you prayed with all your heart,’ continued Lysias, ‘when you realized that everything in the Universe belongs to our Almighty Father, even your tears were different. As you know, rain can at times be creative, at other times destructive. The Lord doesn’t wait for our prayers to love us. Yet, just as a dirty mirror cannot reflect the light, it is indispensable for us to cleanse ourselves and build a receptive attitude in order to understand His infinite goodness. Thus, it is not the Father who needs our penance, it is we who need it for the inestimable service it renders us.’” “‘Right, but keep in mind that all deserving petitions should contain three basic prerequisites: an active will, persevering work, and merit. In other words, one must first wish, then work towards that wish, and finally be deserving of what he requested.’”

00:15:29

The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 2 of 4 - The Gift of Being Human

In this episode, we will see how we should be grateful for our human body, as it offers a rare opportunity for spiritual advancement. Supreme Master Ching Hai also spoke of the priceless value of the human body in a lecture in Kaohsiung, Taiwan (Formosa) on May 9, 1989. “We are such small humans, yet the whole universe is within us. Can you believe it? Therefore, it’s correct to say that the human body is very precious. If we don’t know that we are so precious, it would be too pitiful. In the Bible, it is said, ‘What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?’” Universal White Brotherhood: The Two Paths and The Ascending Way. “Pay attention to the smallest flicker of Light to find the unknown paths of Life. Hidden within are the Divine joys, descending from Heaven. The Earth is a place of Divine treasures, from which you benefit daily.” Spiritualism: The Body Is the Temple By Edgar Cayce. “Thy body is indeed the temple of the living God. Where in thy body, then, is the door through which - when ye open it - the Christ may come in, the Christ-Conscience? He is the Son of righteousness. He is the Sun of thy soul. He is the Maker, and thus through that awareness ye may make thy whole purpose one with Him - in thy sincerity.” Confucianism Analects: “Confucius said, ‘A gentleman with lofty ideals and a man of benevolence will never seek to live at the expense of injuring their virtue. They will even sacrifice their lives to preserve their virtue.’” Sant Mat Spiritual Gems By Hazur Maharaj Sawan Singh Ji (vegetarian): “His is a difficult task, for He gets no support from parents. The parents (Kal and maya) do not wish the entrant (Soul) to enter the University of Spirit (Tenth Gate or Third Eye) – what to say about contacting Nam. The parents (Kal and maya) allure him with easy temptations and create worries, sickness, and other adversities to confound his intellect. Their function is to keep the soul away from Nam. Slowly the entrant grasps the new position, and slowly the entrant realizes the true worth of his parents. Slowly he begins to dissociate from them, and slowly he takes the Guru as his real benefactor, and slowly he leaves the nine portals and makes his approach towards the tenth – to make contact with Nam and work on Nam.”

Jesus Christ - The Same Yesterday, Today, And Forever: Sermon by Jonathan Edwards, Part 2 of 2

We will now continue with an excerpt from Jonathan Edwards’ sermon, “Jesus - Christ The Same Yesterday, Today, And Forever,” which represents a homily with the clear intention of bringing the reader to a realization of the everlasting, never-dying service of the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ, with His unchanging and unconditional love, will be our forever-welcoming shore of salvation from the wild, and unpredictable sea of Earthly suffering. “He undertook the office of a Mediator from eternity with delight. He then delighted in the thoughts of saving sinners, and He still delights in it. He never has altered from the disposition to accomplish it. When man actually fell and became a rebel and an enemy, an enemy to His Father and Himself; still it was His delight to do the part of a Mediator for him.” “Fourth, Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, as the end, which He aims at in His office. His supreme end in it, is the glory of God, as particularly, in vindicating the honor of His majesty, justice, and holiness, and the honor of His holy law. For this end did He undertake to stand as a Mediator between God and man, and to suffer for men, namely that the honor of God’s justice, majesty, and law may be vindicated in His sufferings. And He also undertook the office to glorify the free grace of God.” “Fifth, Christ ever acts by the same rules in the execution of His mediatorial office. The rules that Christ acts by, in the execution of His office, are contained in a twofold covenant.” “1. The covenant of redemption, or the eternal covenant that was between the Father and the Son, wherein Christ undertook to stand as Mediator with fallen man, and was appointed thereto of the Father. In that covenant, all things concerning Christ’s execution of His mediatorial office were agreed between Christ and His Father, and established by them.” “2. Another covenant that Christ has regard to, in the execution of His mediatorial office, is that covenant of grace, which God established with man. …Sixth, He is in many respects unchangeable in the acts which He exercises in His office. He is unchangeable in His acceptance of those that believe in Him, and never will reject them.”
