Mayan Insights on Modern Times: Interview with Emy Shanti & Jose Ajpu Munoz, Part 1 of 4 (INT)

The Mayan civilization flourished in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula and Central America for many thousands of years. They achieved heights of sophistication in the arts and sciences that are still astonishing experts to this days. We had the honor of speaking with two experts in the field, Emy Shanti and Jose Ajpu Munoz, who shared some of their extensive knowledge of the Mayan legacy. According to Mayan wisdom, the cosmos have begun a new cycle after 2012, bringing us into an era of upliftment. It's a great awakening. It's like the calling of the Earth. Trust the universe, trust that there's a higher purpose, a higher plan for us that is much, much bigger than our little ego can even understand.

“Awakening Through Art” – The 2nd International Artist Day Celebration in Mongolia, Part 6 of 6

Because the artists, they're connected with their inner creation force. And whatever they do with pure intention, that will uplift the atmosphere of our planet and help the world and the people to improve spiritually, and thus also making peace and harmony outside in our world. That will also inspire the viewers, the enjoyers, the ones who enjoy the artistic creation, inspire them also to remember to connect with the inside creative force. TV should encourage people more (to eat a ) vegan diet. Good for your country, good for your individual merit and spiritual progress. Please enjoy our last performance. And our last performance is definitely dedicated to You Supreme Master, and to all the guests.

“Awakening Through Art” – The 2nd International Artist Day Celebration in Mongolia, Part 5 of 6

Yes, you are right. Real appreciation of any kind of art will lead to an atmosphere of peace. I know you are a very famous painter and artist in Mongolia. But I’m also surprised that you even sense something inside. Not just your art and your talent, but you have some spiritual intuition in your heart. Yes. Any kind of art, like painting and any other artworks, is supposed to remind people to try to go within themselves, find their own Buddha Nature or God Kingdom, instead of the usual, just outer alluring objects. Our outside world is an illusion and I know that, not just by the Buddha’s teaching but my personal experience through meditation.

“Awakening Through Art” – The 2nd International Artist Day Celebration in Mongolia, Part 4 of 6

Beautiful. I enjoy all of them. I am very impressed, very impressed. I feel that through the other programs, previous program, and this program, I feel all the Mongolians, they are artistic, talented. And the Mongolia is blessed with so many artists like that. And regarding your (question), the younger generation and young leaders of Mongolia, the Chinese, they say, "First you cultivate yourself until perfection; and then you can take care of your family; and then, further, you can govern the country; and then you can pacify the world," meaning bringing peace to the whole world at large. So, this is the principle that any nation, anyone, any person who are responsible, especially in the government position, should adhere to, not just for the Chinese people, but it is the logical, regal regulation that we all have to adhere to.

“Animal. Human. Sign.” A Dialogue with Artist Marianne Manda (INT)

“Animal. Human. Sign.” A Dialogue with Artist Marianne Manda (INT)

Marianne Manda is a celebrated artist and archaeological draftsperson. Marianne Manda’s work has many themes, from animals to biblical subjects. I am convinced that human and animal cannot be separated from each other. And this I represent with my animal and human images; these are my signs. There are, of course, also signs that consist of letters, or a comma, line, dot... My animals are mostly from the Red List. I like my animals very much. That’s why I draw them. Of course, there are humans, too. I want to show the power and beauty of the animals, their greatness, their dignity.

“Awakening Through Art” – The 2nd International Artist Day Celebration in Mongolia, Part 3 of 6

You must have noticed that, Master is interested in our Concert. You’ve seen just now, how She appreciated the performances by the Morin Khuur Ensemble and Bayartsetseg, who sang Her beautiful song. So, we hope that She will enjoy our next performance as well. Because as I heard, the throat singing, which is underappreciated by us but admired by the world, was highly regarded by Master. We really hope that the Supreme Master will enjoy the next performance, because the next performance originates from the western part of Mongolia and this very unique singing is called “overtone singing” or “dual tonal singing,” literally known as throat singing. In fact, one performer can produce two musical tunes simultaneously.

Lyrics and music by the Supreme Master Ching Hai, “On the Riverbank,” singer Bayartsetseg. I love to sit on the riverbank, looking at the flowing water and hear the songs within…. Composition by the Supreme Master Ching Hai, “Triple melody,” 2nd & 3rd parts, Monrin Khuur Ensemble of Mongolia, conductor Tuvshinsaikan. It’s Artist Day, it’s not Ching Hai Day. You play all my songs, up to now three songs. But thank you for your affection through the music. Thank you. Thank you, Master and we hope You will equally enjoy the next dance performed by tiny dancers from Baganuur, a remote district of Ulaanbaatar. Choreography by Baljinnyam, performance by a children’s dance group called “Dance, Dance.”

Music Legend of Zimbabwe - Oliver Mtukudzi

00:17:05

Music Legend of Zimbabwe - Oliver Mtukudzi

One could say Oliver Mtukudzi’s mission was to teach through music. A natural philosopher, he used his lyrics, husky voice and his “Tuku” music, to gently guide his fellow African brothers and sisters on many social issues such as poverty, alcohol abuse and HIV/AIDS. His “Tuku” music was a mixture of southern African music traditions, including mbira, mbaqanga, jit and the traditional drumming styles of the Korekore. He influenced four generations in Zimbabwe with his music, lacing his songs with messages about morality, self-respect, happiness and challenges in life, hope and peace.

Next is the performance from China, which presents a song titled “Watching the Moon.” The song’s melody is smooth, the lyrics are warm, the meaning is profound. The song expresses the deep feelings, boundless praises and love towards our Master. “When I am looking at the moon, I am always thinking of You. When I am looking at You, I am thinking about the moon. In this world, the most beautiful is the moon. But the one that’s more beautiful than the moon is You. In the days without You, I often watch the moon. The pure and bright moonlight is like Your face.”

The next program is also from our friends of Mongolia, who have brought us a Mongolian folk song “Noonzaya.” It is a ballad about missing one’s homeland. A beautiful and kind-hearted young lady Noonzaya was married to a faraway stranger as arranged by her parents. She missed her homeland and kinfolks dearly. Next, Taichung Center from Formosa (Taiwan) will present a short play, “The Three Moons of Li Bai.” This play has adapted Li Bai’s poem “Remembering Qin’e” into a song titled “Protecting the Glaciers.” It serves as a metaphor advocating that humans should love the earth and adopt veganism to protect the glaciers and the earth.

A Lively Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration, Part 1 of 3

According to the Lunar calendar, the moon is the fullest on the 15th day of the 8th moon, which usually corresponds to sometime between September and October of the Gregorian calendar. On this day, our ancestors used to hold festivities in celebration of the harvest. Many Asian countries continue to celebrate this traditional holiday by spending happy times with families and friends, eating yummy mooncakes and gazing at the full moon. On September 23, 2018, our Association members from around the world held a mid-Autumn Festival celebration at Kaohsiung, Taiwan, also known as Formosa. This is the message from our Beloved Master: “Thank you! Have a good time. Love Love.”

But we cannot say goodbye without first saying thanks to other artists. To all of them, our gratitude. Same to the theater staff of this Danza Theater. So we hope that our country keeps walking through the paths of art. And to all of you, thank you very much. And see you next April 3rd. “Well it seems to me something so noble, for me it is like a fairy tale come true. Because, all of us artists have a message to communicate to humanity. Then it is beautiful that someone makes it universal and allows us to get that voice out and share it with everyone.”

The 2nd International Artist Day Celebration in Costa Rica, Part 3 of 4

Poetry is the Eternal Breath. And matter is an illusion that happens. Never mind that seas and rivers, flowers, snow and waterfalls, are atoms of this or the other, made from energy or substance; The truth is, that there is poetry in what they do and there will always be beauty in what they do. The agitated bridge, the smooth lake, the fall of water, the ice in summits, the blizzard in fury, the snowy cloud in the dark cloud, they are not the same. Although they have identical hydrogen and oxygen molecules; that it’s not enough for the person with an artist’s heart and an apex of God in their gaze, to say that things are just states of matter, when they are states of the soul instead.

Afghanistan Children’s Stories

Afghanistan Children’s Stories

Today, I want to share with you two Afghanistan stories collected by Idries Shah. Born in India to a family of Afghan nobles, Mr.Shah grew up in England. He is given credit for introducing the wisdom of Sufism to the West. Our first story, “The Boy Without a Name,” is an odl tale that has been told in Afghanistan for over a thousand years. This lovely Afghanistan story is a parable of searching for spiritual enlightenment. In this world, there are many things that make us lose ourselves. A true friend able to remind us of who we really are is precious.

We are going to make this serenade sung and danced. It was a light. That illuminated my whole being. It’s loving and peaceful way to establish relationships and to solve and advance, create and invent.
