Selections from "The Pathway of Life" by Leo Tolstoy (vegetarian): Volume 1 – The Soul, Part 2 of 2

“Men frequently think that only that exists which they can touch with their hands. However, quite on the contrary, only that truly is that cannot be seen, heard or touched, what we call ‘I,’ our soul. Confucius said: The sky and the earth are great, but they have color, shape and size. But there is something in man that can think of everything and has no color, shape or size. Thus, if the whole wo

Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian) Our Savior – From the Gospel of Luke (vegetarian) in the Holy Bible: Part 1 of 2

Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian) Our Savior – From the Gospel of Luke (vegetarian) in the Holy Bible: Part 1 of 2

Jesus Christ: Prophet, Son of God, the Prince of Peace, Savior and friend; He is known by many names. The birth in Bethlehem of this beloved spiritual Master marks the beginning of the Western calendar; so important was His influence on humanity. Lord Jesus taught God’s love and forgiveness to all people with open hearts. He is especially loved and remembered because of His sacrifice to cleanse the sins of His disciples and of the world. Three days after His crucifixion, He arose, as witnessed by some of His disciples. Today, we will open the Gospel of Luke.Love for Enemies “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.” Judging Others “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” A Tree and Its Fruit “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” The Wise and Foolish Builders “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice, is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) Meets the Former Vice President of Taiwan (Formosa), Her Excellency Lu Hsiu-Lien (vegetarian), and Distinguished Guests, Part 1 of 3

On Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at the New Land Ashram in Taiwan, also known as Formosa, our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai met with the former Vice President of Taiwan (Formosa), Her Excellency Lu Hsiu-Lien and guests. “War is the most painful thing to humankind, the most… (I think it’s the most stupid thing.) That’s right. The most foolish action. Whatever happens, we all can talk and communicate with each other. (That’s right.) Why use guns? Many people would die because of guns. And then the economy of that country would collapse. Many companies from abroad would be scared. They wouldn’t set up business there, or they would withdraw the business. Therefore, war is bad for everybody. It’s the worst for a country. It’s even worse for the citizens. Children, girls, and all innocent people would be killed. (Yes.) There’s nothing good about it.” “Yes. I grew up in a war. So I feel unpleasant when I talk about it. (You’d feel their pain.) It’s very painful. I feel other people’s pain. People suffer too much in war. They can’t work. They can’t till their lands, either. And children can’t go to school or grow up well. (Yes.) It’s harmful to everybody, especially children. Women are also very helpless. They are greatly harmed by war. And it causes a lot of casualties.” “Whatever we want to achieve, it also depends on our own merits. We depend not only on abilities or vision, but also on merits. It also depends on the merits of those around us, those who support us and the country. (Yes.) Yeah. That’s why we can only do our utmost. Whatever we do, we just do our best. (Yes.) (OK.) And then it’ll depend on the destiny of the country.” “I teach them more profound things. If they meditated, they would be able to accept it more. (The mind is pacified.) Yes, more meditation is beneficial to the country, and to the world. Just talking is not very useful. It’s only good for the mind. Meditation reaches our original true Master, who comes out to help the world. It’s our original Self, our Buddha Nature. Spoken words are only for the mind.” “Our TV program encompasses everything, including Catholicism, Taoism, including Catholicism, Taoism, and Buddhism, so that religions can understand each other and stop competing, praising their own religion and criticizing other religions. If we really spend time to research, the teachings of all religions are similar. (Master is very open-minded.) So, we provide information for people to understand and to reduce fighting.”

Selections from The Astral City - Chapter 6: Precious Advice

Selections from The Astral City - Chapter 6: Precious Advice

"Man is not forsaken on Earth. He is a child of God engaged in constructive work, temporarily clothed in flesh. He is a student in a meritorious school, where he must learn to raise himself up. The human struggle is his opportunity, his set of tools, and his textbook." "How childish to imagine that the mere 'ringing down of the curtain' (physical death) would settle transcendental questions of the Infinite. One life is but a single act. One body - a garment. One century - a day. One task - an experience. One triumph - an acquisition. One death - a breath of renovation. How many lives, how many bodies, how many centuries, how many tasks, how many triumphs, how many deaths are still allotted to us?" These astounding messages from the spirits via a human medium convey the message of Spiritism. Numerous books have been written that provide insights into the afterlife and the soul’s immortality. One such volume is "Nosso Lar," or "The Astral City," by Spirit André Luiz through Spiritist medium Francisco Cândido Xavier. In "The Astral City," former medical doctor André Luiz speaks from the afterlife of his awakening and healing within a spiritual society near the Earth’s surface. This story describes not only the continuation of life beyond the physical body, but more importantly how Heaven cares for each and every human soul. “The only way to spiritual balance is to open your heart to the Divine Light. If you consider the necessary effort to be an oppressive burden or see the struggle for redemption as an imposition, it is a sure sign of spiritual blindness. The more you dwell on your own painful experiences, the more you bind yourself to them. You can be sure that the same Father whom shelters and watches over you will also care for your loved ones on Earth. We should certainly regard the family as a sacred institution, but always keep in mind that it is just a small branch of the Universal Family under the loving guidance of one Divine Father.”

Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) Meets the Former Vice President of Taiwan (Formosa), Her Excellency Lu Hsiu-Lien (vegetarian), and Distinguished Guests, Part 2 of 3

“I could only do it with the blessing of God. I could only do it because I had the chance. Many people also wanted to do it, but they didn’t have the chance. I'm doing some different job from inside. I’m taking care of Heaven’s job. I don't mind much about the world. If you take care of heavenly work well, then the world will also change. If I take good care of it inside, the world will also be affected. The priority is inside, working with Heaven. Then the world will also be OK. (But do You feel that the world will come to an end somehow?) No. (No? You don’t believe it.) Not yet. We'll be OK. Not yet. This world would end one day. Within the Three Worlds, nothing is eternal. From the highest one, which we call Brahma God, to the Second World, to the Asura World, and our world. These four worlds are not eternal. But while we are here, we can protect it. And we can persuade people in the world that if they do good deeds and get along with each other in a kind and peaceful way, the world would last longer and be more beautiful and peaceful. It all depends on what we do.” “While we are still here, we try to bring more happiness to the world and less suffering. Then they will have time to practice spiritually. If they practice, they will go to a better place when they leave the world. Whether the world ends or not, we just make sure that we do not come to an end. (First practice well.) Yes. Cultivate yourself, manage your family, govern the country, and pacify the world. Anyways… Politicians also need to practice spiritually, otherwise, we may not be able to make a clear decision. That’s why our world is so chaotic, because many politicians do not practice well. (Yes.) They did not cultivate themselves. They are not even vegetarians. Gobbling down meat and alcohol day and night. Our body and mind cannot bear it. And when the body is not healthy and the mind is not clear, we cannot do anything well. That’s how it is. That’s why ancient sages advised us to cultivate ourselves before we can govern the country. Just like the way our vice president is cultivating herself. In the Buddhist sutras, it is said that if someone comes from a noble family with fame and fortune and practices spiritually, they must be Bodhisattvas incarnate. They are not ordinary people.”

For the Glory of God: Segment II - From the Sacred Text of the Universal White Brotherhood, Part 1 of 2

The spiritual lineage of the Universal White Brotherhood was founded by Master Beinsa Douno, also known as Peter Konstantinov Deunov, of Bulgaria, in 1897. Master Beinsa Douno taught that the qualities of humility, obedience, honesty, goodness, intelligence and nobility are foremost in spiritual practice. He explained that one should walk the path of Love, Wisdom, and Truth. The Universal White Br

The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 1 of 4 - The Origin of the Creation

The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 1 of 4 - The Origin of the Creation

Since time immemorial, our planet has been graced with Light-bringers, enlightened Beings who embody spiritual wisdom and offer it for the benefit of humanity. On this special occasion celebrating the Three-Year Anniversary of Supreme Master Television, we are honored to present “The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World.” This four-part series represents a compilation of some of the most powerful and illuminating excerpts from Words of Wisdom which, as you will see, all lead to the same ultimate Divinity. Welcome to Part One: The Origin of the Creation. One of the questions that we are sure to encounter in life is: where does the world come from, and where do we come from? The Holy Bible says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God … Through Hirm all things were made, and without Hirm nothing was made that has been made.” Taoism Tao Te Ching Chapter 1: “The name that can be named is not the enduring and unchanging name. (Conceived of as) having no name, it is the Originator of heaven and earth; (conceived of as) having a name, it is the Mother of all things.” Bahá'í Faith The Kitab-I-Aqdas: “He, verily, is the Munificent, the Generous. He has previously made known unto you that which would be uttered by this Dayspring of Divine wisdom. He said, and He speaks the truth: He is the One Who will under all conditions proclaim: ‘Verily, there is none other God besides Me, the One, the Incomparable, the Omniscient, the All-Informed.’” In a lecture given at Denver University, Colorado, USA on April 10, 1993, Supreme Master Ching Hai revealed more about how we can awaken this extraordinary Source of Heavenly benevolence and compassion. “All Masters, all true Masters, are one. They come from one Source. The highest Master is the Supreme Master, the Almighty, which is in all of you. When we first came here, we were Masters before. We came here, we blessed the world, and we forgot all about our power and our glory. Our energies were also exhausted because we paid attention to outer phenomena. All the Masters who come here are the ones who are awakened in this awareness, and know Their true glory. They can travel the road Home frequently and They can lead us back Home. So there’s no need to discriminate between any Masters. All the religions are founded after the Master has gone; therefore, we have Christianity after Christ, Buddhism after Buddha, etc.”

Christ’s Unique Occasion – From “The Reappearance of the Christ” by Alice Bailey, Part 2 of 2

Christ’s Unique Occasion – From “The Reappearance of the Christ” by Alice Bailey, Part 2 of 2

Today, we will continue with a selection from Alice Bailey’s Chapter Two – “Christ’s Unique Occasion,” from her book entitled, “The Reappearance of the Christ.” “For the time being, neither the energy of the creative mind nor the energy of love were left to Him. He was bereft of all that had made life bearable and full of meaning. A new type of energy became available — the energy of life itself, imbued with purpose and actuated by intention. But it was new and unknown and hitherto unrealized. For the first time, the relation of the will, which had hitherto expressed itself in His life through love and the creative work of inaugurating the new dispensation became clear to Him. At this point, He passed through the Gethsemane (historic garden in Jerusalem) of renunciation. The greater, the larger and the more inclusive was revealed to Him and all that hitherto seemed so vital and important was lost to sight in the greater vision. It is this living realization of Being and of identification with the divine intention of God Himself, the Father, the Lord of the World upon levels of awareness, of which we know nothing (as yet), which constituted the unfolding awareness of the Christ upon the Way of the Higher Evolution. This Way He treads today and He began to tread it in Palestine two thousand years ago. He knew, in a sense hitherto unknown to Him, what God intended and what human destiny meant, and the part that He had to play in the working out of that destiny. We have paid little attention down the centuries of human thinking to Christ’s reaction to His own destiny, as it affected the human. We have paid small attention to the aspect of His reaction to knowledge, as it unfolded itself to Him. We have been selfish and grasping in our reaction to His work and sacrifice.” “The spiritual Hierarchy of our planet (the invisible Church of Christ) is not a center of peace, but a very vortex of loving activity, the meeting place of energies coming from the center of the divine will, and from humanity, the center of divine intelligence. Christ had oriented Himself to that divine center which has, in the ancient Scriptures, been called the ‘place of serene determination and of poised, quiescent will.’ This statement marked a point of crisis and of determination in the life of Christ, and proved His progress towards divine fulfilment.”

00:10:02

Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian) Our Savior – From the Gospel of Luke (vegetarian) in the Holy Bible: Part 2 of 2

We will now continue with the reading from Chapter 7 in the Gospel of Luke of the Holy Bible. In these verses, we will learn about some of the miracles Lord Jesus performed while on His mission to spread the word of God.Jesus and John the Baptist “When the men came to Jesus, they said, ‘John the Baptist sent us to You to ask, “Are You the One Who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”’ At that very time, Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind. So, He replied to the messengers, ‘Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.’” “After John’s messengers left, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: ‘What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swayed by the wind? If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear expensive clothes and indulge in luxury are in palaces. But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. This is the One about Whom it is written: “I will send My Messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You.” I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the One Who is least in the Kingdom of God is greater than he.’”Jesus Anointed by a Sinful Woman “Then He turned toward the woman and said to Simon, ‘Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven - as her great love has shown. But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.’ Then Jesus said to her, ‘Your sins are forgiven.’ The other guests began to say among themselves, ‘Who is this Who even forgives sins?’ Jesus said to the woman, ‘Your faith has saved you; go in peace.’”

Studies in the Scriptures by Charles Taze Russell: The Divine Plan of the Ages - Selection from Chapter 5, Part 2 of 2

We now continue with the fascinating analysis of the Holy Bible by Charles Taze Russell, selected from Volume 1 of his “Studies in the Scriptures” titled, “The Divine Plan of the Ages.” “This was truly a mystery never before thought of - that God intends to raise up not only a deliverer, but a deliverer composed of many members. This is the ‘high calling’ to which the consecrated believers of the Gospel age are privileged to attain. Jesus did not attempt to unfold it to the disciples while natural men, but waited until they were anointed - begotten to the new Nature. From Paul’s explanation, we know that none but ‘new creatures’ can now appreciate or understand this high calling. He says: ‘We speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom [plan], which God ordained before the world unto our glory; which none of the princes [chief ones] of this world knew; ... as it is written, ‘Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him;’ but God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit.’” “But God’s plan will not always be shrouded in mystery: the dawn of the Millennial Day brings the fuller light of God to men, and ‘the knowledge of the Lord shall fill the whole earth.’ The Sun of Righteousness, which shall arise with healing in His wings, dispelling the darkness of ignorance, is the Christ in Millennial Glory - not the Head alone, but also the members of His body; for it is written: If we suffer with Him, we shall also be glorified together. ‘When Christ, Who is our life, shall appear, then shall we also appear with Him in glory;’ and ‘Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father.’” “Then the ‘mystery’ will have ended; for the world will have come to see that it was the Spirit of God in Christ, and the Spirit of Christ in us - God manifested in the flesh - which they had hitherto misunderstood.”

The Kingdom of God, Guru and God are One: Selections from Dadu Dayal (vegetarian): The Compassionate Mystic, Part 1 of 2

The Kingdom of God, Guru and God are One: Selections from Dadu Dayal (vegetarian): The Compassionate Mystic, Part 1 of 2

One such great spiritual teacher is Sant (Saint) Dadu Dayal from the same tradition as Saint Kabir. He lived during the 16th century. “Dadu” means brother and “Dayal” is “the Compassionate One.” Dadu first met his Guru at the early age of 11 while playing with friends near a pond. He was initiated by this teacher into the “Everlasting Knowledge of God.” Dadu paid little attention to the external forms of worship, such as visits to temples and pilgrimages. Instead, he concentrated on Japa (repetition of Divine Names) as well as remembrance of the original divine source and his inner connection and whole-hearted devotion to God. The group of Dadu’s followers are known as the Dadu Panth and refrain from alcohol and uphold vegetarianism. Sant Dadu Dayal did not leave any written records. But 5,000 of his verses, or oral teachings were recorded by his disciple Rajjab and are known as the Dadu Anubhav Vani, composed in the local Braj Bhasha language, a mixture of Hindi and Rajasthani. Dadu: The Compassionate Mystic is an English translation collection of Dadu Dayal’s poems by Dr. Kashi Nath Upadhyaya. Today we are going to share with you some of the enlightening verses selected from this collection. LIFE WITHOUT GURU IS WASTED “Human life is wasted if a perfect Guide who can join the broken link and take one to the other shore is not found, and if works pleasing to God are not done. Forsaking God and running after the pleasures of the world is like throwing aside priceless diamonds and picking up useless stones. If such a one who can mend the broken connection And take one across to the other shore is not found, The opportunity is lost again, says Dadu. This body is a raft, and the world is an ocean, deep and unfathomable. How can anyone cross it and go to the other shore without the Sailor? asks Dadu. I have done nothing that could please God. My coming to this world has been in vain, O Dadu. With what face should one laugh and talk? One is departing, having spent one's priceless life in vain. One should cry, says Dadu. The holy feet of the Lord - the very purpose for which one is to live in the world – are not within one’s heart. Fie on such a life without devotion to God in this Iron Age, O Dadu! You did what was pleasing to your mind And transgressed the commandment of the Lord. How will you show your face to that Beloved? asks Dadu. You did all to please the senses And provided all that the mind demanded. But nothing of that for which you were created Was done by you, O Dadu. You were provided with equipment For rendering service to the Lord. But you have forgotten obedience to the Lord, And not a single work have you accomplished, says Dadu.”

The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 3 of 4 - The Law of Karmic Retribution

00:15:31

The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 3 of 4 - The Law of Karmic Retribution

Welcome to Part Three – The Law of Karmic Retribution. Different religions may refer differently to karmic retribution, or cause and effect, but it is understood as a concept by all. We have heard of the sayings, “What goes around, comes around,” and “Like attracts like.” Positive actions bring favorable effects, while negative yields unfavorable results, also known as karmic retribution. While the principles of Divine Love and Grace are higher, and may be mercifully applied in the physical realms, karmic retribution is a law that cannot be ignored. The Holy Bible clearly teaches the concept of karma in the often-quoted verse, “As you sow, so shall you reap.” The verse continues, “The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Even in ancient China thousands of years ago, people understood the wisdom of the enlightened Master Confucius, “Do not impose on others what you yourself do not desire.” Buddhism Surangama Sutra: “Ananda, if living beings in the six worlds of existence cease to kill, they will not be subject to the continual round of births and deaths… How then can those who practice great compassion feed on the flesh and blood of living beings?” Sikhism Sri Guru Granth Sahib: “The world eats dead carcasses, living by neglect and greed. Like a goblin, or a beast, they kill and eat the forbidden carcasses of meat. So control your urges, or else you will be seized by the Lord, and thrown into the tortures of hell.” Jainism Bhagavati Aradhana: “To kill any living being amounts to killing oneself. Compassion to others is compassion to one’s own self. Therefore one should avoid violence like poison and thorns (that cause pain).” Cao Đài-ism The Collection of Divine Messages: “If you kill any living being, you shall be punished; no one knows whether a living being may have been an Immortal or a Buddha reincarnating to Earth. As I have said, all life is Me. To destroy life is to attempt to destroy Me. And it is not easy to destroy Me. Teach that to human beings.” In an effort to halt the factory farms and meat-processing plants that kill billions of animals every year, Supreme Master Ching Hai has been speaking out in urgent messages for some time. She asks that all meat-related businesses cease their operations and switch to a more wholesome living. On February 22, 2020, Supreme Master Ching Hai specifically addressed livestock industry owners as well as the fishing, egg, milk, fur, laboratory testing, cosmetics and leather industries.

Selections from “The World’s Advance Thought” – a Periodical by Lucy A. Mallory (vegetarian): The New Dispensation, Part 1 of 2

00:13:02

Selections from “The World’s Advance Thought” – a Periodical by Lucy A. Mallory (vegetarian): The New Dispensation, Part 1 of 2

“The Spirited Monthly Newspaper – The World’s Advance Thought” was a monthly periodical founded by Lucy A. Mallory in 1886. The paper’s motto was “Love is the way, the truth, and the life.” Mrs. Lucy Mallory contributed her own spiritual writings as well as the inspired contributions of others. She served as writer, editor and publisher of the paper, which had an international readership that included renowned Russian author and vegetarian, Leo Tolstoy. Through this uplifting publication, Lucy Mallory highlighted themes that emphasized the “inner light” of the human being. She also advocated vegetarianism for its loving kindness to other beings. We now share with you selections from the periodical – “The World’s Advance Thought.” “The thought planted in your mind is a seed, and it will grow there and bear fruit of the same kind as the seed you planted. Good thought seeds bear fruit that give good. ‘As ye sow, so shall ye reap.’ Constructive planting is reaping its harvest. Destructive sowing is reaping its harvest. The present-day man has come to his limit. Now comes a Superior Being who will bring the whole world into Divine Union. The Mighty Power of Love shall work its Wonders, and Peace - Divine Peace - shall reign! Spiritualism has rooted now, and will soon begin to bear Spiritual Fruit. The public memory is now going to be long on Good, and short on bad.” “The human soul’s demand for truth being eternally continuous, and the supply being eternally inexhaustible, it is impossible to formulate abiding religious systems of perfection. While a religious system, as a moral influence, may be above the spiritual thought of the mass of its faithful followers, the spiritual thought of individuals will ever be above the most advanced religious system. Creeds, in their highest forms and purest conditions, cannot from the very nature of things dispense and conserve the highest spiritual truth; they express past conceptions, and must, therefore, ever be behind the most advanced spiritual thought.” “The Light that lights every one that comes into the world, and all intelligences above and below, as well as in the degree of the individual, is spiritual consciousness. The season has its degree, as has the planet, and the object of the experiences, each and all, is to expand and extend the consciousness.”

Selections from “The Life Divine” by Sri Aurobindo (vegetarian): The Human Aspiration, Part 1 of 2

India - the home of many great spiritual Masters who have brought wisdom and truth to Earth, inspiring us to seek a higher purpose in life, thus uplifting humanity to a divine state of being. One such great figure is the spiritual Master, yogi, philosopher, poet and politician Sri Aurobindo, who graced our planet from 1872 to 1950. Through the inner knowledge revealed to Him during His spiritual practice, Sri Aurobindo began publishing writings full of wisdom.Today, we present to you Chapter 1 of “Book One – Omnipresent Reality and the Universe” in “The Life Divine.” “She follows to the goal of those that are passing on beyond, she is the first in the eternal succession of the dawns that are coming, — Usha widens, bringing out that which lives, awakening someone who was dead… What is her scope when she harmonizes with the dawns that shone out before and those that now must shine? She desires the ancient mornings and fulfils their light; projecting forwards her illumination she enters into communion with the rest that are to come.” “Threefold are those supreme births of this divine force that is in the world, they are true, they are desirable; he moves there wide-overt within the Infinite and shines pure, luminous and fulfilling… That which is immortal in mortals and possessed of the truth, is a god and established inwardly as an energy working out in our divine powers… Become high-uplifted, O Strength, pierce all veils, manifest in us the things of the Godhead.” “The earliest preoccupation of man in his awakened thoughts and, as it seems, his inevitable and ultimate preoccupation, — for it survives the longest periods of skepticism and returns after every banishment, — is also the highest which his thought can envisage. It manifests itself in the divination of Godhead, the impulse towards perfection, the search after pure Truth and unmixed Bliss, the sense of a secret immortality. The ancient dawns of human knowledge have left us their witness to this constant aspiration; today we see a humanity satiated but not satisfied by victorious analysis of the externalities of Nature preparing to return to its primeval longings. The earliest formula of Wisdom promises to be its last, — God, Light, Freedom, Immortality.”

Selections from The Astral City - Chapter 3: Collective Prayer

In “The Astral City,” former medical doctor André Luiz speaks from the afterlife of his awakening and healing within a spiritual society near the Earth’s surface. This story describes not only the continuation of life beyond the physical body, but more importantly how Heaven cares for each and every human soul. The following excerpt from “The Astral City” describes how André Luiz was strengthened spiritually upon his rescue from the Lower Zones. “I felt a profound sense of veneration and awe as I gazed at the soft light streaming through my window. I realized that on Earth I had never looked up at the Sun and raised my thoughts to the One, Who in His infinite mercy, had given it to us to shine on our journey. I was like a blind man who, after living so long in darkness, was blessed with the ability to see the splendor of nature. The first collective prayer I had attended at the Astral City had worked a radical change in me. An unexpected peace filled my soul for the first time in many years of suffering, and my heart, so long empty, was once again filled with hope.”

Studies in the Scriptures by Charles Taze Russell: The Divine Plan of the Ages - Selection from Chapter 5, Part 1 of 2

He is noted for his analytical interpretations of the Holy Bible and for dedicating his life and resources to the preaching of the future establishment of a Golden Age on Earth. According to Mr. Russell’s research of the Holy Bible, God’s Kingdom would rule the Earth through Christ. Among the most well-known of his works is the seven-volume series, “Studies in the Scriptures.” Today, we will read an excerpt from Volume 1 of Charles Taze Russell’s “Studies in the Scriptures” titled, “The Divine Plan of the Ages.” “Paul declares that this mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations now made manifest to His saints, is ‘CHRIST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY.’ This is the great mystery of God which has been hidden from all previous ages, and is still hidden from all except a special class - the saints, or consecrated believers. But what is meant by ‘Christ in you?’ We have learned that Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit, and thus we recognize Him to be the Christ - the Anointed - for the word Christ signifies anointed.” “And, dearly beloved, many blows and much polishing must we endure - much transforming must we undergo, and much conforming to His example, under the direction of the great Master-builder; and in order to have the ability and ideality of the Builder displayed in us, we will need to see that we have no cross-grained will of our own to oppose or thwart the accomplishment of His will in us; we must be very childlike and humble – ‘clothed with humility; for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.’ Let us humble ourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt us in due time, as He has exalted our Head and Forerunner.”
