Song of Realization by Tsongkhapa, Part 2 of 2

Song of Realization by Tsongkhapa, Part 2 of 2

The teachings of Tibetan Buddhism focus on an awareness of death and the ephemeral nature of life, leading to diligence in meditation and spiritual practice. We now continue with excerpts from “Song of Realization,” an autobiography by the Venerated Master Tsongkhapa describing His own spiritual studies and practice. “With a firm, intense, and enduring faith in Manjusri, Best at banishing the darkness from the disciple’s mind, I prayed that all the teachings might dawn as training, And I applied myself to all the requisite conditions. Thinking this over, how well my destiny was fulfilled! Thank you so much, O Holy Wisdom Treasure! Working in that way, I found a special certainty In the stages of the path of enlightenment, The tradition descended from Nagarjuna and Asanga, And the Transcendent Wisdom, best book on the profound, Dawned as a practical training. …In order to extend enormously my own virtue, And to show the entrance without error in a way appropriate To the many fortunate persons of clear discernment, I wrote this record of my education. By the mass of virtues thus attained, May all beings, through this same procedure, Maintain the unexcelled discipline of the Buddha, And enter the path that pleases all the Victors!”

I-Kuan Tao - The Three Treasures

00:12:33

I-Kuan Tao - The Three Treasures

I-Kuan Tao means Consistent Way or Persistent Way. I-Kuan Tao is also known as Tian Dao. I-Kuan Tao is a Chinese salvationist religion that emerged from the Xiantiandao, (“Way of Former Heaven”) tradition in the late 19th century, in Shandong, China. I-Kuan Tao is a combination of spiritual ideas based on Confucius Teachings, and a deep respect and belief in the Lao Mu, the Eternal Primordial Mother and Maitreya, the future Buddha. In I-Kuan Tao, the three treasures are: Xuan Kwan (The Mystic Portal or Heavenly Portal), Wu-tzu-Jen-ching (Divine Mantra) and Ho Tong (The Covenant or Symbolic Seal). These three treasures are spiritual practices that are capable of keeping the believers safe and protect them, as well as enable the believers to reach sainthood. We will now share with you, “I-Kuan Tao – The Three Treasures.” “The first Treasure is the Mystic Portal. It is the spiritual nexus of your being. If the eyes are the windows to the soul, then the portal is the proper doorway.” “It is the door to the soul. When it is closed, the soul cannot be in touch with anyone. Once this doorway has been pointed and opened by an ordained master in the initiation ritual, you can use it in everyday life. In times of danger, it will help you avoid disaster, and keep yourself safe.” “The second Treasure is the Wordless True Sutra. It consists of sounds without words. It resonates with us deep in the heart. It is beyond the ordinary sounds and writings of the material world, for it is a mantra of power. This Treasure should not be said aloud or written down.” “Using the Wordless True Sutra will let you tap into more of your potential than you ever thought possible. If obstacles in life are like the morning fog, then the Wordless True Sutra is like the sun. When the sun comes out, the fog dissipates into nothingness, and you can see everything clearly.” “The third Treasure is the Hand Seal. The central meaning of this Treasure is nurturing love. It is a gesture where the left hand holds the right in a symbolic representation of the tender loving care that you feel when you hold an infant in your arms. The Hand Seal serves as a reminder of the child within us, our original nature beyond good and bad, right and wrong, judgement and criticism. Like the other Treasures, the Hand Seal can shield you from harm. In a crisis, the Hand Seal will help you maintain your safety and reduce your fears, so you can get yourself out of danger. Your fate is literally in your own hands. With the Hand Seal, you are able to not just change your fate, but also create your own destiny.”

Selection from the Sacred Confucian Analects – Chapter 15, Part 2 of 2

Confucius said, “The noble man makes right the substance of his being; he carries it out with judgment and good sense; he speaks it with modesty; he attains it with sincerity. This is the noble man.” “The noble man should be distressed that he has no ability, not from lack of recognition.” “The noble man dislikes to die without having done anything to distinguish himself.” “The noble man seeks within himself. The fool seeks within others.” “The noble man is proud but not vain; he is sociable, but belongs to no party.” “The noble man never upholds a man because of what he says, nor does he discard what a man says because of the speaker’s character.”

Selections from "The World’s Advance Thought" – a Periodical by Lucy A. Mallory (vegetarian): On Love, Part 2 of 2

00:12:52

Selections from "The World’s Advance Thought" – a Periodical by Lucy A. Mallory (vegetarian): On Love, Part 2 of 2

“Love is all sufficient to itself. Love makes perfect. When Love has become conscious in us, then is life joyous in all its expressions. Keep the mind filled with kind, loving thoughts and you will never be burdened. The Angels of the Lord will bless you! The difference between an Angel and a devil, is that the Angel makes a Heaven out of a hades, and the devil makes a hades out of a Heaven.” “Love knows. Love satisfies. Love yourself: Love is a Reformer. Love is the Creator. Love overcomes death. Love prevents old age. Love transforms all enmity. Love makes things intelligent. Love is the Door to Happiness. Love has a Universal Language. Love is Spiritual Understanding. Love never fails in any purpose. Love purifies everything it touches. Love is clairvoyant and clairaudient. Love things, and they will be beautiful. Love transforms all discords to Harmony. Love is a sure wrinkle eradicator (no charges). Love dissolves the veil between this world and the Spirit World.” “God now materializes to human comprehension. This is the Day of Judgment when the world begins to pay. When the killing ceases, contagious diseases will cease. God is the Triune-Light-in-One: the Light of Love, the Light of Intelligence, and the Light of Day. The opposite, or God's Shadow, is the triune-darkness-in-one: the darkness of hatred, the darkness of ignorance, and the darkness of night. Virtue grows and thrives in the first, and criminality in the last. Where Love rules, God rules; where hatred rules, the Shadow reigns. Where Wisdom is; God is there; where ignorance prevails, the Shadow is on top.” “There is a Glorious Time coming soon. The Lord is over all, and all disorder must now come into Heavenly Order! Keep a cheerful heart, and be quiet, and Heaven will be in control!”

Perek Shira - Singing Praises to the Creator: From “In Front of the Blind” by the Reverend Rabbi Asa Keisar (vegan), Part 2 of 2

Perek Shira - Singing Praises to the Creator: From “In Front of the Blind” by the Reverend Rabbi Asa Keisar (vegan), Part 2 of 2

Today, we will continue our reading of the Reverend Rabbi Keisar’s book “In Front of the Blind,” an excerpt from chapter “The Purpose of Animals.” “The Whale says: ‘Give thanks to Hashem (God) for He is good, His kindness endures forever.’ The Fish say: ‘The voice of Hashem is upon the waters, The God of glory thunders; Hashem is upon a multitude of waters.’” “The Sheep and Goats say: ‘Who is like You among the mighty ones, Hashem, who is like You, adorned in holiness, awesome in praise, worker of wonders!’” “The Cattle say: ‘Rejoice unto God, our strength, applaud the God of Jacob!’ The Swine say: ‘Hashem is good to the upright and the straight of heart.’” “The Camel says: ‘Hashem roars from upon high and sounds His voice from His holy Abode, and roars His agony about His Temple.’” “The Horse says: ‘Behold, as the eyes of the servants to their master’s hand, as the eyes of a maid to her mistress’s hand, so are our eyes to Hashem our God until He will favor us.’” “The Donkey says: ‘To You, Hashem, is the greatness and the might and the triumph and the glory for everything in Heaven and Earth is Yours; To You, Hashem, is the monarchy and the sovereignty over every leader.’” “In the book of Kings 2 it tells how the army of Sennacherib surrounded Jerusalem in the days of King Hezekiah. 180,000 of Sennacherib’s soldiers died when they came to fight against the nation of Israel and that which caused their death was the song of animals. As it is said, Rabbi Yitzchak Nafcha says: ‘He revealed ears for them and they hear the songs from the mouths of the creatures and they died.’” “Radak: ‘This refers to Isaiah’s prophecy ‘And a wolf shall live with a lamb,’ and that is discussed there.’” “‘And a wolf shall live with a lamb, and a leopard shall lie with a kid; and a calf and a lion cub and a fatling [shall lie] together, and a small child shall lead them. And a cow and a bear shall graze together, their children shall lie; and a lion, like cattle, shall eat straw. And an infant shall play over the hole of an old snake and over the eyeball of an adder, a weaned child shall stretch forth his hand. They shall neither harm nor destroy on all My holy mount, for the land shall be full of knowledge of the Lord as water covers the seabed.’”

Selections from My Religion by Leo Tolstoy (vegetarian): Chapter II, Part 2 of 2

Tolstoy illuminated the principle that true Christian doctrine is against violent retaliation and that we should instead do good in return for evil. Forgive not once, but endlessly. Love your enemies and be good to those who dislike you. Tolstoy also highlighted that Jesus’ primary message was to be truly human, to rise to a higher level and be born into the new life of the spirit. By embracing the higher law of love, we will be able to break the cycle of violence. We should like to share an insightful excerpt from Chapter Ⅱ of “My Religion.” “The command, ‘Resist not evil,’ is the central point of Jesus’ doctrine. It is not a mere verbal affirmation; it is a rule whose practice is obligatory. When we regard it as a command impossible of performance, the value of the entire doctrine is lost. When we declare that one may be a Christian without observing the commandment, ‘Resist not evil,’ we simply leave out the connecting link which transmits the force of the doctrine of Jesus into action.”

Rebuilding the Foundation of Sustainability Through Compassion: An Interview with Dr. Sailesh Krishna Rao (vegan), Part 1 of 3

Dr. Sailesh Krishna Rao graduated in 1986 from Stanford University, USA, receiving a PhD in Electrical Engineering. Though extremely successful in his professional career, he was inspired to make a significant change after watching former Vice President Al Gore’s presentation about global warming in December 2005. Dr. Rao then founded the non-profit organization, Climate Healers in 2007. “The goal was to reverse climate change, and then when you study the problem you realize that it’s a very spiritual problem because the foundation of sustainability is really compassion for all life, and so is the foundation for all religion, it’s compassion for all life, and the foundation for our ethics is compassion for all life. So it turns out that going to a sustainable world is really going back to our ethical roots and our religious roots and taking them seriously. So the compassion for all life is the core of it all.”

The wisdom and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, His spiritual successors, and other selected Saints and Masters, are embodied in the Sikh holy text known as the Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Shabad Kirtan is a form of devotional singing of passages from the Sri Guru Granth Sahib. The word “Naam” means to know your inner Self in unity with the Creator. Today we feature Shabad Kirtan from the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, as presented by Bhai Tejinder Singh Group. “The Bani of His Word emanated from the Primal Lord. It eradicates all anxiety. The Transcendent Lord has given me His support. The house of pain and disease has been demolished. The men and women celebrate. The Lord God, Har, Har, has extended His Mercy. The Reappearance of the Christ by Alice Bailey: Selection from “Christ’s Unique Occasion,” Part 1 of 2

00:11:39

The Reappearance of the Christ by Alice Bailey: Selection from “Christ’s Unique Occasion,” Part 1 of 2

Alice Bailey was an extraordinary British American esoteric author of the 20th century. She was one of the first to use the term New Age, referring to a better future for the world that fulfills the Divine plan of love and light. Born in 1880, Alice Bailey in her youth was a devoted Christian who later developed an extensive knowledge and practice of Theosophy. In 1922, Alice Bailey and her husband Foster Bailey founded the Lucis Trust and the Arcane School to offer the teachings and meditation guidance to the public. The nonprofit Lucis Trust is still active today and continues to publish Alice Bailey’s works, including as free e-books, for people to study in this special period of our planet. We will now read an excerpt from Alice Bailey’s prophetic book “The Reappearance of the Christ,” about the unique factors that will mark the way the Christ will carry out His work during His next re-emergence on Earth. “First of all, He will come to a world which is essentially one world. His reappearance and His consequent work cannot be confined to one small locality or domain unheard of by the great majority, as was the case when He was here before. The radio, the press and the dissemination of news will make His coming different to that of any previous Messenger; the swift modes of transportation will make Him available to countless millions, and by boat, rail and plane they can reach Him: THROUGH TELEVISION, HIS FACE CAN BE MADE FAMILIAR TO ALL, and verily ‘every eye shall see Him.’” “It is a fallacy to believe, as some do, that the main trend of Christ’s work will be through the medium of the churches or the world religions. He necessarily will work through them when conditions permit and there is a living nucleus of true spirituality within them, or when their invocative appeal is potent enough to reach Him. He will use all possible channels whereby the consciousness of man may be enlarged and right orientation be brought about. It is, however, truer to say that it is as World Teacher that He will consistently work, and that the churches are but one of the teaching avenues He will employ. All that enlightens the minds of men, all that tends to bring about right human relations, all modes of acquiring real knowledge, all methods of transmuting knowledge into wisdom and understanding, all that expands the consciousness of humanity and of all subhuman states of awareness and sensitivity, all that dispels glamour and illusion and that disrupts crystallization and disturbs static conditions will come under the realistic activities of the Hierarchy which He supervises. He will be limited by the quality and the caliber of the invocative appeal of humanity and that, in its turn, is conditioned by the attained point in evolution.”

Selection from Theaetetus by Plato: Socrates on the Nature of Knowledge, Part 1 of 2

Selection from Theaetetus by Plato: Socrates on the Nature of Knowledge, Part 1 of 2

Most of the information about Socrates, His life and His philosophy, was transcribed after His departure by two of His students, Plato and Xenophon. Today we present an excerpt from one of the sophisticated and intriguing dialogues of Socrates with His friend mathematician Theaetetus. The Venerated Master interestingly talks about knowledge and perception. "Some of them appear dull enough at first, but afterwards, as our acquaintance ripens, if the god is gracious to them, they all make astonishing progress; and this in the opinion of others as well as in their own. It is quite dear that they never learned anything from me; the many fine discoveries to which they cling are of their own making. But to me and the god they owe their delivery."

The Sutra on the Original Vows and Merits of the Medicine Master Lapis Lazuli Light Tathagata, Part 2 of 4

However, if they have briefly heard the name of the Medicine Master Lapis Lazuli Light Tathagata when they were humans, although now they are reborn into the wretched destinies, if they can recall the Buddha’s name even briefly, they will immediately be free from these destinies and be reborn as human beings. They will remember their sojourn in the lower destinies, and, dreading their past sufferings, crease to wallow in worldly pleasures. They will gladly practice charity, praise others who do so, and will no longer be ungenerous. Gradually, they will even be able to donate parts of their bodies to those who need them, not to mention mere material possessions.

00:15:55

Selection of Emanuel Swedenborg’s Writings on The Holy Spirit and God, Part 2 of 2 (OLD WOW 760)

The immensity of God has relation to spaces, and His eternity to times. His infinity comprehends both immensity and eternity. But as infinity transcends what is finite, and the cognition of it, the finite mind, in order to attain some degree of perception of the subject, it must be treated of in this order: 1. God is infinite because He is and exists in Himself, and all things in the universe are and exist from Him. 2. God is infinite because He was before the world, consequently before spaces and times had birth. 3. God, since the world was made, is in space without space, and in time without time. 4. Infinity in relation to spaces is called immensity, and in relation to times eternity; and yet, notwithstanding these relations, there is nothing of space in God’s immensity, and nothing of time in His eternity.

"Prayers and Meditations" by Bahá’u’lláh (vegetarian): Sections 16 to 23, Part 2 of 2

The Arabic word Bahá means “glory” or “splendor.” The Bahá’i Faith rests on three main concepts, also known as the “three onenesses”: unity of God, unity of religion, and unity of humankind. These concepts emphasize that while the names for God as well as religions, and cultures may differ, all are equal and ultimately united as one. “Praised be Thou, O Lord my God! I am Thy servant and the son of Thy servant. I have set my face towards Thy Cause, believing in Thy oneness, acknowledging Thy unity, recognizing Thy sovereignty and the power of Thy might, and confessing the greatness of Thy majesty and glory. I ask Thee, by Thy name through which the Heaven was cleft asunder, and the Earth was split in two, and the mountains were crushed, not to withhold from me the breezes of Thy mercy which have been wafted in Thy days, nor to suffer me to be far removed from the shores of Thy nearness and bounty. I am he who is sore athirst, O my Lord! Give me to drink of the living waters of Thy grace.”

From The Essene Humane Gospel of Christ: Peace and Safety for All God’s Creatures, Part 2 of 2

00:14:32

From The Essene Humane Gospel of Christ: Peace and Safety for All God’s Creatures, Part 2 of 2

As we continue reading our selection, the young beloved Master Yeshua continues fulfilling His mission of bringing God’s Holy Law to the people. “And Yeshua proved to be the Humane son of Holy Parents (Father-Mother God) in that all the animals of the field showed respect unto Him, and all the birds of the heaven took no fear in Him, and even the fishes of the sea rejoiceth at the presence of Him. None were in fear of Him, yea, the great wild animals of the desert did indeed perceive the authority of God within Him, and did Him much service, bearing Him from place to place with much gladness and readiness. For a certainty the Spirit of the Divine Holy Law was within Him, as He was in the Great Rest of the Father. For thus shall yet be fulfilled through Him (Lord Yeshua, Jesus Christ) the words of the Prophet [Isaiah]: ‘The lion shall lie down with the calf, and the leopard with the kid, and the wolf with the lamb, and the bear with the ass, and the owl with the dove, and a child of God shall lead them. And it shall come to pass, that none shall hurt or destroy in My Holy mountain, for my Earth, my sanctuary, shall be full of the knowledge of the HOLY ONE, even as the waters cover the bed of the sea. And it shall come to pass, in that day that I will make again and renew a covenant with the animals of the Earth, and the fowls of the air, and the fishes of the sea, and with all created things.’”

Studies in the Scriptures by Charles Taze Russell: The Divine Plan of the Ages - Selection from Chapter 5, Part 2 of 2

00:12:54

Studies in the Scriptures by Charles Taze Russell: The Divine Plan of the Ages - Selection from Chapter 5, Part 2 of 2

We now continue with the fascinating analysis of the Holy Bible by Charles Taze Russell, selected from Volume 1 of his “Studies in the Scriptures” titled, “The Divine Plan of the Ages.” “This was truly a mystery never before thought of - that God intends to raise up not only a deliverer, but a deliverer composed of many members. This is the ‘high calling’ to which the consecrated believers of the Gospel age are privileged to attain. Jesus did not attempt to unfold it to the disciples while natural men, but waited until they were anointed - begotten to the new Nature. From Paul’s explanation, we know that none but ‘new creatures’ can now appreciate or understand this high calling. He says: ‘We speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom [plan], which God ordained before the world unto our glory; which none of the princes [chief ones] of this world knew; ... as it is written, ‘Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him;’ but God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit.’” “But God’s plan will not always be shrouded in mystery: the dawn of the Millennial Day brings the fuller light of God to men, and ‘the knowledge of the Lord shall fill the whole earth.’ The Sun of Righteousness, which shall arise with healing in His wings, dispelling the darkness of ignorance, is the Christ in Millennial Glory - not the Head alone, but also the members of His body; for it is written: If we suffer with Him, we shall also be glorified together. ‘When Christ, Who is our life, shall appear, then shall we also appear with Him in glory;’ and ‘Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father.’” “Then the ‘mystery’ will have ended; for the world will have come to see that it was the Spirit of God in Christ, and the Spirit of Christ in us - God manifested in the flesh - which they had hitherto misunderstood.”

Jesus Christ - The Same Yesterday, Today, And Forever: Sermon by Jonathan Edwards, Part 2 of 2

Jesus Christ - The Same Yesterday, Today, And Forever: Sermon by Jonathan Edwards, Part 2 of 2

We will now continue with an excerpt from Jonathan Edwards’ sermon, “Jesus - Christ The Same Yesterday, Today, And Forever,” which represents a homily with the clear intention of bringing the reader to a realization of the everlasting, never-dying service of the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ, with His unchanging and unconditional love, will be our forever-welcoming shore of salvation from the wild, and unpredictable sea of Earthly suffering. “He undertook the office of a Mediator from eternity with delight. He then delighted in the thoughts of saving sinners, and He still delights in it. He never has altered from the disposition to accomplish it. When man actually fell and became a rebel and an enemy, an enemy to His Father and Himself; still it was His delight to do the part of a Mediator for him.” “Fourth, Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, as the end, which He aims at in His office. His supreme end in it, is the glory of God, as particularly, in vindicating the honor of His majesty, justice, and holiness, and the honor of His holy law. For this end did He undertake to stand as a Mediator between God and man, and to suffer for men, namely that the honor of God’s justice, majesty, and law may be vindicated in His sufferings. And He also undertook the office to glorify the free grace of God.” “Fifth, Christ ever acts by the same rules in the execution of His mediatorial office. The rules that Christ acts by, in the execution of His office, are contained in a twofold covenant.” “1. The covenant of redemption, or the eternal covenant that was between the Father and the Son, wherein Christ undertook to stand as Mediator with fallen man, and was appointed thereto of the Father. In that covenant, all things concerning Christ’s execution of His mediatorial office were agreed between Christ and His Father, and established by them.” “2. Another covenant that Christ has regard to, in the execution of His mediatorial office, is that covenant of grace, which God established with man. …Sixth, He is in many respects unchangeable in the acts which He exercises in His office. He is unchangeable in His acceptance of those that believe in Him, and never will reject them.”

From Jainism's Holy Sutrakritanga Sutra: Book I – Lecture 6: Praise of Lord Mahavira

From Jainism's Holy Sutrakritanga Sutra: Book I – Lecture 6: Praise of Lord Mahavira

One of the oldest religions in the world is Jainism, traditionally known as Jain Dharma. Lord Mahavira, who is considered to be the last Tirthankara, was born around the 5-6th century BC, as a prince of the ancient kingdom of Vaishali. He later forsook His royal status to pursue the spiritual path. After attaining kevala jnana, or all-knowing intuitive vision, He spent the rest of His life giving discourses on spiritual truths, which form the present-day tenets of Jainism. We present to you today excerpts from Book I - Lecture 6 from Jainism’s Sutrakritanga Sutra. “This wise and clever great Sage possessed infinite knowledge and infinite faith. Learn and think about the law and the piety of the glorious Man who lived before our eyes! This wise Man had explored all beings, whether they move or not, on high, below, and on earth, as well as the eternal and transient things. Like a lamp He put the law in a true light. He sees everything; His knowledge has got beyond (the four lower stages); He has no impurity; He is virtuous, of a fixed mind, the highest, the wisest in the whole world; He has broken from all ties; He is above danger and the necessity to continue life. Omniscient, wandering about without a home, crossing the flood (of the Samsara), wise, and of an unlimited perception, without an equal, He shines forth (or He does penance) like the sun, and He illumines the darkness like a brilliant fire.”

Selections from Saints Alive by Hilda Charlton (vegetarian): Chapter One – The Garden of Master Jesus, Part 1 of 2

Hilda Charlton was an extraordinary being. She taught classes for more than 23 years in New York City, giving practical lessons to thousands of seekers, about living a life of truth, courage and love. Hilda’s teachings stressed the importance of self-mastery, giving and forgiving, unconditional love, and remembrance of God. Hilda Charlton’s book “Saints Alive” is a collection of extraordinary classes she gave at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in New York City. She spoke with love, wisdom and humor of the Saints and holy people who were a living part of her life. The book also includes practical lessons on how to live a life of truth, courage, and love. We now share with you an excerpt from Chapter One - The Garden of Master Jesus from “Saints Alive.” “The Planetary Beings and all of those teachers I mentioned, all work in harmony for the One God. Only down here do we separate into little groups and call ourselves names and make separations. From Hinduism’s Holy Vedas: Hymns of the Sama Veda - Selection from Part One, Part 1 of 2

Hinduism is believed to be one of the oldest living religions on Earth. One of the most cherished values of Hinduism is “ahimsa,” or non-violence. An example of this is how ahimsa is honored through a vegetarian diet, which shows compassion to all beings.
