Selection from Sacred Text of Ancient Hinduism: Upanishads , Part 1 of 2

Hinduism is believed to be one of the oldest living religions on Earth, with origins tracing back to the ancient Vedic civilization in India. Of all Vedic literature, the Upanishads alone are widely known, and their central ideas are at the spiritual core of Hinduism. The teachings were imparted in the form of dialogue between teacher and disciple. These ennobling lessons are practical for the modern world. Their teachings are summed up in two great sayings: Tat twam asi (That thou art) and Aham Brahmasmi (I am Brahman). This oneness of Soul and God lies at the very root of all Vedic thought, and the dominant ideal points to the unity of all life and the oneness of Truth.

Having ended birth and death, Nirvana is delight!” After speaking these stanzas, Maitreya Bodhisattva will renounce family life to learn the Way to Buddhahood, and he will sit under the Bodhi tree of dragon flowers in the splendid Vajra bodimanda. Its branches will be like a jeweled dragon that spits out hundreds of jeweled flowers. Its petals will be in the colors of the seven treasures, and its fruits in various colors will be pleasing to sentient beings. No tree in heavens or the human world with compare with this tree.

In Silence We Know God, Part 2 of 2, May 5,1999

All the religious scriptures told us that God is within ourselves. That means we are God. That means we are one with God. Or okay, at least the children of God, offspring from the Most High, the Most Powerful, the Almighty, the All Knowing, the All Seeing, the All Having, the All Powerful. Not by bowing to Hirm one hundred times a day, not by fasting, not by talking loud to Hirm, but by proving that Hes is glorious, by proving to be successful in our spiritual life as well as material life, we glorify our Father; we prove Hes exists. Until one day, we completely remember who we are, and then we can declare like Lord Jesus has declared, "I and my Father are one."

From Jainism’s Holy Akaranga Sutra: Book II – Begging of Food: Part 1 of 2

One of the oldest religions in the world is Jainism, or traditionally known as Jain Dharma. Originating from ancient India, this philosophy centers around concepts such as right perception, right knowledge and right conduct in the attainment of moksha, or realization of the soul’s true nature. Practitioners of Jainism follow a pure vegetarian diet. Jains follow the ancient wisdom of the 24 Tirthakaras, or prophets, whose teachings comprise the Agam sutras, the religion’s holy scriptures.

Philosophy of Plotinus - The Second Ennead of The Six Enneads: The Heavenly System, Part 2 of 2

Philosophy of Plotinus - The Second Ennead of The Six Enneads: The Heavenly System, Part 2 of 2

We must distinguish between a center in reference to the two different natures, body and Soul. In body, center is a point of place; in Soul it is a source, the source of some other nature. That around which the object, Soul or material mass, revolves. While in the higher realm everything flows on its course. There is a lowest power of the Soul, a nearest to Earth, and this is interwoven throughout the entire universe: another phase possesses sensation, while yet another includes the Reason which is concerned with the objects of sensation.

From Sikhism’s Holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib: The Great Fortune of Meeting a Fully Enlightened Master, Part 1 of 2

If a hundred moons were to rise, and a thousand suns appeared (in the sky), even with such light, there would still be pitch darkness (ignorance in the mind) without an Enlightened Master. All other rituals, deeds are just worldly affairs (a show); meeting and seeking refuge in the Holy saint-guru (Enlightened Master), one is saved (liberated). One may contemplate on the Simritees, Shaastras and Vedas (holy scriptures), but it is only by meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord (obtained from an enlightened Master), one is saved and carried across (by His Grace).

Excerpts from Theravada Buddhism's Sacred Scripture: Suttas of the Digha Nikaya, Chapter 6 To Mahāli (The Aim of The Brethren), Part 2 of 2

Herein, Sirs, a Tathāgata arises in the world, a worthy one, perfectly enlightened, endowed with clear knowledge and conduct, accomplished, a knower of the world, unsurpassed trainer of men to be tamed, teacher of gods and men, enlightened and exalted. Having realized by his own direct knowledge this world with its gods, its Māras, and its Brahmās, this generation with its recluses and brahmins, its rulers and people, he makes it known to others. He teaches the Dhamma that is good in the beginning, good in the middle, and good in the end, possessing meaning and phrasing; he reveals the holy life that is fully complete and purified.

In Silence We Know God: Questions and Answers, Part 4 of 4 May 5,1999

I am not here to prove anything. I am here to tell you that you can prove anything to yourself. At my own expense. I demand nothing from you, not even membership fee, not any obligation, not that you are not my brothers and sisters if you don’t follow the same method. If I were you, I would try because you lose nothing. You only gain. You gain the whole world. You gain everything that you’ve ever imagined. That’s all I can promise you. To realize this promise, you have to follow the way I show you.

Selection from the Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment: Chapter 2, Part 1 of 2

Selection from the Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment: Chapter 2, Part 1 of 2

We would like to share with you the wisdom of Tsongkhapa. The Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment is superior to other systems. Showing the greatness of the teaching in order to engender respect for the instructions. The greatness of the teaching is indicated by four qualities, it elicits in the student: 1. Knowing that all of the teachings are free of contradiction. 2. Coming to understand that all of the scriptures are instructions for practice. 3. Easily finding the Conqueror’s intent. 4. Automatically refraining from great wrongdoing. Here to know that all the teachings are free of contradiction means to understand that they are the path by which one person becomes a Buddha. The path of the perfections is like the center post for the path that leads to Buddhahood. Hence, it is unsuitable to cast it aside.

Meditation is the Source of Love, Questions and Answers, Part 3 of 3, April 20, 1991

In Breakthrough Sermon, Bodhidharma said,” If you see the Buddha Light for just one split second, all your karma of past lives would be eliminated!” It’s the same when we get initiation. At the time of initiation, you see the Light and hear the Sound straight away. You are taught from inside. That’s why your karma of past lives could be eliminated immediately, and you would be liberated in one lifetime. That’s how you get immediate enlightenment.

To Realize God We Have to Go Beyond Religion, Part 3 of 3, April 16, 1994

To Realize God We Have to Go Beyond Religion, Part 3 of 3, April 16, 1994

No, no Buddhists have forced any Christian to become a Buddhist. Just accept each other. Accept. Yeah, that’s enough. All religions come from God. So, anybody just has to respect everybody else religion. Because people understand religion differently. You see, according to their level, they understand Buddhist. Even their own religion, they understand differently than the next person. Like Buddhist monk, sometimes he says he’s a Buddha. He means he realizes the Buddhahood and he’s one with Buddha. But only if he realizes the Buddha inside. If only he realizes God inside. Then he speaks the truth.

Selections from the Sacred Texts of Hòa Hảo Buddhism, Part 1 of 2

Hoa Hao Buddhism is a religion based on the teachings of the Buddha. It is so named because it was established in Hoa Hao village, Chao Doc Province in Au lac, also known as Vietnam. The two words “Hoa Hao” also connote harmony and goodness. It was founded by Prophet Huynh Phu So in 1939. At a young age, Prophet Huynh Phu So went into the sacred mountains of That Son and Ta Lon and studied under a teacher who imparted to him the knowledge and the ability to cure all illnesses. He attained enlightenment after a period of time.

From Mohism’s Book of Mozi: Book 4 – Universal Love, Part 2 of 2

Mozi said: It is to regard the state of others as one’s own, the house of others as one’s own, the persons of others as one’s self. When feudal lords love one another there will be no more war; when heads of houses love one another there will be no more mutual usurpation; when individuals love one another there will be no more injury. When ruler and ruled love each other there will be gracious and loyal; when father and son love each other there will be affectionate and filial. And it is all due to mutual love that calamities are prevented from arising.

Love is the True Essence of Life, Part 1 of 2, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Apr 3, 2000

The essence of life is love. The essence of God, of Buddha, of Allah, is love. There’s nothing else but love. When we make the choice of love, that’s the highest choice, the noblest choice, which is our true Self, we will feel that we are very near to God, very near to Buddha.

Question: Is the Quan Yin Method the highest method in the universe? Is there a higher method?Answer (Supreme Master Ching Hai): Not at this moment. After initiation, you are attaining the Tao, slowly discovering the Tao, because the Tao is not to be discovered in one day.An advanced country is not to be judged by its outer appearance, high-rise buildings, or money. No! It is to be judged by their moral standard. Being advanced is to be advanced in spirituality, not in material aspects. Shakyamuni Buddha had no money but He was the most civilized person.

From the Sacred Text of the Universal White Brotherhood: The Rejected Stone, Read by Virtuous Hristo Madzharov, Part 2 of 2

The Lord says, “This Divine net will be cast to the end of the world; some will be taken out of the sea on the shore, while others will be cast again into the sea.” We should take a more serious attitude to all problems and consider what kind of people we should be. Everything, every thought, every angel has their role in the cosmos. This way the wheel along which runs the progress of humanity is in motion. They must do the will of God. A store represents what is changeless, constant and permanent. Philosophers will vanish, but the principles of nature will remain invariable.
