From Zoroastrianism’s Sacred Menog-i Khrad: Chapters 1-3, Part 2 of 2

Thou shouldst not become presumptuous through any happiness of the world; for the happiness of the world is like such-like as a cloud that comes on a rainy day, which one does not ward off by any hill. Thou shouldst not be too much arranging the world; for the world-arranging man becomes spirit-destroying. Thou shouldst not become presumptuous through much treasure and wealth; for in the end it is necessary for thee to leave all. Thou shouldst not become presumptuous through predominance; for in the end it is necessary for thee to become non-predominant. Thou shouldst not become presumptuous through respect and reverence; for respectfulness does not assist in the soiritual existence. Thou shouldst not become presumptuous through great connections and race; for in the end thy trust is on thine own deeds. Thou shouldst not become presumptuous through life; for death comes upon thee at last.

Selections from the Sacred Texts of Hòa Hảo Buddhism, Part 2 of 2

The two words “Hoa Hao” also connote harmony and goodness. It was founded by Prophet Huynh Phu So in 1939. At a young age, Prophet Huynh Phu So went into the sacred mountains of That Son and Ta Lon and studied under a teacher who imparted to him the knowledge and the ability to cure all illnesses. When he emerged from these holy mountains, Prophet Huynh Phu So began to heal people through the use of simple herbs, water, and acupuncture. He also composed six scriptures and hundreds of verses and prose of transcendental values. His style of writing is comprehensive, concise and very appealing, but easy to understand.

From the Holy Qur’an: Chapter 6, Part 3 of 3

If you obey the majority of people on Earth, they will divert you from the path of God. They follow only conjecture; they only guess. Your Lord is fully aware of those who stray off His path, and He is fully aware of those who are guided. You shall avoid obvious sins, as well as the hidden ones. Those who have earned sins will surely pay for their transgressions.

From the Sacred Text of the Universal White Brotherhood: The Mindful Heart, Read by Devoted Maria Maystorova, Part 2 of 2

From the Sacred Text of the Universal White Brotherhood: The Mindful Heart, Read by Devoted Maria Maystorova, Part 2 of 2

How is one’s dignity manifested? – The dignity of someone is manifested in the fulfillment of the Will of God, in the use of the smallest of one’s virtues. You might have won the biggest battles, you might have risen an entire people, but if one day your heart tells you to tie the shoe of an old person and you do not obey, all that has been done before will be of no use. To tie the shoe of an old person brings a greater reward than to win a battle. If we consider what our present objective mind can do from the time of our childhood to the time when we pass away and weigh it, the total will not weigh as much as one of the smallest acts performed by the mindful heart.

The Great Torah Way of Enlightenment, Reading by Dr. Gabriel Cousens, Part 1 of 2

Among the most established religions in the world, Judaism’s history begins around 2000 BC with the Covenant between God and Abraham. Over a thousand years later, the Jewish faithful believe God’s laws and commandments were revealed to Prophet Moses on Mount Sinai, forming the Torah. Rabbi Gabriel Cousens, MD said, "Torah, means enlightenment. It is multi-leveled; the first level is mitzvot, which are proper ways of being, good acts, positive acts and avoidance acts; the next level is the love of God; the third is the direct merging with God.

From Buddhism’s Sacred Scripture: The Sutra of the Lotus of the Wonderful Dharma, Chapter 1, Part 1 of 3

00:27:52

From Buddhism’s Sacred Scripture: The Sutra of the Lotus of the Wonderful Dharma, Chapter 1, Part 1 of 3

At that time the World-Honored One, surrounded by the four kinds of believers, received offerings and tokens of respect and was honored and praised. And for the sake of the Bodhisattvas He preached the Great Vehicle sutra entitled Immeasurable Meanings, a Dharma (true teaching) to instruct the Bodhisattvas, one that is guarded and kept in mind by the Buddhas. When the Buddha had finished preaching this Sutra, He sat with His legs crossed in lotus position and entered into the samadhi of the place of immeasurable meanings. At that time the Buddha emitted a ray of light from the tuft of white hair between his eyebrows, one of his characteristic features, lighting up eighteen thousand worlds in the eastern direction. There was no place that the light did not penetrate, reaching downward as far as the Avichi hell and upward to the Akanishtha Heaven. From this world one could see the living beings in the six paths of existence in all of those other lands. One could likewise see the Buddhas present at that time in those other lands and could hear the sutra teachings which those Buddha were expounding. And one could also see the Buddhas who had entered parinirvana (the state into which one who has attained Nirvana passes at death), towers adorned with the seven treasures were erected for the Buddha relics.

From Hinduism’s Sacred Text: Devi Bhagavatam, Fourth Book, Chapter 4, Part 1 of 2

From Hinduism’s Sacred Text: Devi Bhagavatam, Fourth Book, Chapter 4, Part 1 of 2

We present to you the spiritual wisdom of Hinduism. On Adharma. All those persons who are attached to worldliness are bent these, therefore, cannot be Aptas (seers). When self interest is obstructed, jealousy and anger arise; and to secure one’s self interest, out of jealousy, arise untruthful words. The Pundits (religious teachers), of yore, declare that truth is the first Pada (foot), cleanliness, the second; compassion, the third; and charity is the fourth Pada (foot) of Dharma (Religion). Thus, devoid of these, It seems no one had any trace of faith and steadiness in one’s religion.

Lord Krishna - God of Compassion and Love: An Interview with Reverend Hindu Priest Deepak Subedi, Part 2 of 2

Lord Krishna - God of Compassion and Love: An Interview with Reverend Hindu Priest Deepak Subedi, Part 2 of 2

Lord Krishna explains it through this verse: “Never consider yourself to be the cause of the results of your activities, and never be attached to not doing your duty.”“Be steadfast in yoga, O Arjuna. Perform your duty and abandon all attachment to success or failure.”It has a simple meaning - do your duties while always being in connection with Almighty God, without being distracted. And do not distract your mind. Always be connected with God. Always perform your duties but be connected with Almighty at the same time. If you could do that while doing your duties, it will bring you great satisfaction.

Selection from the Holy Qur’an: Chapter 17, Al-Isra (The Night Journey), Part 2 of 2

It is your Lord who drives the ship for you through the sea that you may seek of His bounty. Indeed, He is ever, to you, Merciful. And when adversity touches you at sea, lost are those you invoke except for Him. But when He delivers you to the land, you turn away. And ever is man ungrateful.

Selection from Sikhism’s Holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Part 1 of 2

00:15:06

Selection from Sikhism’s Holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Part 1 of 2

From the True Lord came the air, and from the air came water. He created the three worlds; in each and every heart He has infused His Light. The body of the five elements is dyed in the Fear of the True One; the mind is filled with the True Light. We shall merge into the One from whom we came. The more the Lord and Master dwells within the mind, the more the Gurmukh(one who follows the Guru’s teachings) drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar. Know the state of your inner being. When one’s light merges into the Light, and one’s intuitive consciousness is joined with the Intitive Consciousness, then one’s cruel and violent instincts and egotism depart, and skepticism and sorrow are taken away. The Lord abides within the mind of the Gurmukh(one who follows the Guru’s teachings), who merges in the Lord’s Union, through the Guru. The True Merchandise, Wealth and Capital are obeained through the Radiant Light of the Guru.

I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. Holy Father, protect them by the power of Your name, the name You gave me, so that they may be one as We are one.

From the Sacred Principles of BISHNOIS Principles 19-23

The Bishnoi faith was established by Shri Jambheshwar Bhagwan, also known as Jambhoji, more than 500 years ago in Rajasthan, India. Through a vision during meditation, Jambhoji came to understand that only a respectful co-existence of human and nature can prevent misery and disaster. He led the people in the planting of trees and advised them to remain devoted to God and nurture their compassion towards fellow beings. He also outlined a set of 29 principles by which he advised his followers to live their lives. This is how the Bishnoi religion obtain its name: “Bish” meaning 20, and “Nois” meaning 9.In the 29 guidelines that he gave this followers, Jambhoji encouraged them to be vegetarians. One should not eat meat nor harm animals, but treat them as they would their own kin. Today, we invite you to listen to some of the guidelines established by Shri Jambheshwar Bhagwan or Jambhoji. “Don’t cut green trees. Humans have been cutting trees to satisfy their selfishness. Green trees should not be felled, because trees help keep the ecological balance. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, which is a lifeline for human beings as well as animals.by felling trees, we are suffocating ourselves and our coming generations.”

From Sufism’s Sacred Fihi ma Fihi: Discourse of Rumi, 4, 21 and 22, Part 1 of 2

If you plant a seed with no husk, it cannot grow, but if you bury it in the earth with its shell, then it germinates and becomes a great tree. So, form is a great and necessary principle, and without it our task fails and our purpose is not attained. Yes this principle is reality in the eyes of those who know reality and have become reality!
