Selections from The Holy Science by Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri (vegetarian), Chapter 1, Part 1 of 2

India – home to many great spiritual Masters. One such great personage is Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri. Paramahansa Yogananda described Sri Yukteswar as “softer than the flower, where kindness is concerned; stronger than the thunder, where principles are at stake.” Today we are going to present to you “The Holy Science,” requested by Saint Babaji and written by Swami Sri Yukteswar, revealing the basic unity of Supreme Truth behind all names and forms, especially between the Bible and Bhagavad Gita. “How God is comprehended. As man is the likeness of God, directing his attention inward he can comprehend within him the said Force and Feeling, the sole properties of his Self – the Force Almighty as his will, Vasana, with enjoyment, Bhoga; and the Feeling Omniscient as his Consciousness, Chetana, that enjoys, Bhokta.”

Meeting the Master: From Godfré Ray King’s Unveiled Mysteries – The Dominion and Majesty of Ascended Master Saint Germain (vegetarian), Part 2 of 2

Meeting the Master: From Godfré Ray King’s Unveiled Mysteries – The Dominion and Majesty of Ascended Master Saint Germain (vegetarian), Part 2 of 2

We will now continue with a selection from Guy Warren Ballard’s, or Godfré Ray King’s book “Unveiled Mysteries.”“Mankind in the unascended state, marvel at these things - but I tell you - it is no more Effort - for us to change the appearance and activity of our bodies - than it is for the ordinary human being - to change his clothes. The unfortunate condition in human consciousness - that keeps individuals in their self-created limitations - is their attitude of mind - which either fears or ridicules - what it does not understand - or what is still worse - in its ignorance says – ‘That is impossible.’ A thing may not be probable - under certain human conditions - but the God-Self - which is the Great ‘Light’ - can change all human conditions - so nothing is - impossible.”“Every individual has the Divine Flame of Life Within him, and - That God-part of Him - has Dominion - wherever he moves in the universe. If he - because of his own mental inertia - will not exert the necessary effort - to reorder his age old habits – of mind and body - he goes on bound by the chains of his own forging - but if he chooses to know the God Within himself - and dares - to give that God-Self - all control of his outer activities - he will receive the knowledge once more of his Dominion over all substance - which has been his from the beginning.”“Thus, does the outer life keep the individual bound to the wheel of necessity, rebirth, continued struggle, and pain until we – let - the ‘Light of the Christ Within’ – illumine and purify us that we may respond only to the Plan of God - Love, Peace, and Perfection for His Creation. This is the kind of lesson - one never forgets - because objective teaching records the experience in the – vision - as well as in the mind. The record in the sight is deeper and - necessarily receives more attention - from the outer activity of the intellect.”“‘There is only one way,’ he went on, ‘to avoid the cosmic wheel of cause and effect - the necessity for re-embodiment - and that is through the conscious effort to comprehend - the Law of Life. One must earnestly seek the God Within - make permanent, conscious contact with that “Inner Self” - and hold firmly to it - in the face of every condition in the outer life. It will be my pleasure and privilege to show you more - but only for the instruction it will bring - to yourself and others.’”

From Hinduism’s Holy Vedas: Hymns of the Samaveda, First Part, Book I, Chapter I

Hinduism is believed to be one of the oldest living religions on Earth. The earliest Hindu spiritual text, the Rig Veda, was complied in approximately 900 B.C. Other sacred Hindu scriptures include the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Ramayana, among others. One of the most cherished values of Hinduism is “ahimsa,” or non-violence born of respect for all life. We now invite you to listen to an excerpt from Hinduism’s sacred text, the Samaveda, First Part, Book 1, Chapter I. “O Agni, bring us radiant light to be our mighty sustenance, for thou art our visible deity!” To thee, illuminer of night, O Agni, day by day with prayer, bringing thee reverence, we come. Agni is head and height of heaven, the master of the earth is he; he quickens the waters’ seed. Agni, the Sage, the Lord of Strength, hath moved around the sacred gifts, giving the offeror precious things. His heralds bear him up aloft, the God who knows all that lives, the Sun, that all may look on him. Praise Agni in the sacrifice, the Sage whose holy laws are true, the God who drives grief away.”

Selections from the Holy Text of Tibetan Buddhism: Sixty Songs of Milarepa – Songs 11-13, Part 1 of 2

“When that time comes, what else can help but Holy Dharma? Though Dharma is the fount of victory. Those who aspire to it are rare. Scores of men are tangled in The miseries of Samsara (cycle of reincarnation); Into this misfortune born, They strive by plunder and theft for gain. He who talks on Dharma With elation is inspired, But when a task is set him, He is wrecked and lost. Dear patrons, do not talk too much, But practice the Holy Dharma.” “Do you not fear the miseries You experienced in the past? Surely you will feel much pain If misfortunes attack you? The woes of life succeed one another Like the sea’s incessant waves One has barely passed, before The next one takes its place. Until you are liberated, pain and pleasure come and go at random Like passersby encountered in the street. Pleasures are precarious, Like bathing in the sun; Transient, too, as snowstorms Which come without warning. Remembering these things, Why not practice the Dharma?”

Selections from The Holy Science by Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri (vegetarian), Chapter 1, Part 2 of 2

“What is needed is a Guru, a Savior, who will awaken us to Bhakti (devotion) and to perceptions of Truth. Any advanced sincere seeker may be fortunate in having the Godlike company of some one of such personages, who may kindly stand to him as his Spiritual Preceptor, Sat-Guru, the Savior.” “Aparokshajnana, the real comprehension. In this state the son of man begins to repent and, turning back from the gross material creation, creeps toward his Divinity, the Eternal Substance, God. When the developments of ignorance are stopped, man gradually comprehends the true character of this creation of darkness, maya, as a mere play of ideas of the Supreme Nature on His own Self, the only Real Substance. This true comprehension is called Aparokshajnana.” “When man thus entering into the spiritual world becomes a Son of God, he comprehends the universal Light – the Holy Ghost – as a perfect whole, and his Self as nothing but a mere idea resting on a fragment of the Aum Light.”

Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) Meets the Former Vice President of Taiwan (Formosa), Her Excellency Lu Hsiu-Lien (vegetarian), and Distinguished Guests, Part 1 of 3

On Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at the New Land Ashram in Taiwan, also known as Formosa, our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai met with the former Vice President of Taiwan (Formosa), Her Excellency Lu Hsiu-Lien and guests. “War is the most painful thing to humankind, the most… (I think it’s the most stupid thing.) That’s right. The most foolish action. Whatever happens, we all can talk and communicate with each other. (That’s right.) Why use guns? Many people would die because of guns. And then the economy of that country would collapse. Many companies from abroad would be scared. They wouldn’t set up business there, or they would withdraw the business. Therefore, war is bad for everybody. It’s the worst for a country. It’s even worse for the citizens. Children, girls, and all innocent people would be killed. (Yes.) There’s nothing good about it.” “Yes. I grew up in a war. So I feel unpleasant when I talk about it. (You’d feel their pain.) It’s very painful. I feel other people’s pain. People suffer too much in war. They can’t work. They can’t till their lands, either. And children can’t go to school or grow up well. (Yes.) It’s harmful to everybody, especially children. Women are also very helpless. They are greatly harmed by war. And it causes a lot of casualties.” “Whatever we want to achieve, it also depends on our own merits. We depend not only on abilities or vision, but also on merits. It also depends on the merits of those around us, those who support us and the country. (Yes.) Yeah. That’s why we can only do our utmost. Whatever we do, we just do our best. (Yes.) (OK.) And then it’ll depend on the destiny of the country.” “I teach them more profound things. If they meditated, they would be able to accept it more. (The mind is pacified.) Yes, more meditation is beneficial to the country, and to the world. Just talking is not very useful. It’s only good for the mind. Meditation reaches our original true Master, who comes out to help the world. It’s our original Self, our Buddha Nature. Spoken words are only for the mind.” “Our TV program encompasses everything, including Catholicism, Taoism, including Catholicism, Taoism, and Buddhism, so that religions can understand each other and stop competing, praising their own religion and criticizing other religions. If we really spend time to research, the teachings of all religions are similar. (Master is very open-minded.) So, we provide information for people to understand and to reduce fighting.”

The Foundation of Creation: From the Book of the Secrets of Enoch (vegetarian), Part 2 of 2

We now continue with the amazing record from chapters 26 to 30 in “The Book of the Secrets of Enoch,” depicting the story of creation as told by God to Enoch, in which the world’s foundation takes its dual nature, known to us to this day. Chapter 26 “And I summoned the very lowest a second time, and said: ‘Let Archas come forth hard,’ and he came forth hard from the invisible (spiritual). And Archas came forth, hard, heavy, and very red.” Chapter 27 “And I commanded that there should be taken from light and darkness, and I said: ‘Be thick,’ and it became thus, and I spread it out with the light, and it became water, and I spread it out over the darkness, below the light, and then I made firm the waters, that is to say the bottomless, and I made foundation of light around the water, and created seven circles from inside, and imaged (the water) like crystal wet and dry, that is to say like glass, (and) the waters and the other elements - and I showed each one of them its road, and the seven stars, each one of them in its heaven, that they go thus, and I saw that it was good.” Chapter 28 “And then I made firm the Heavenly circle, and (made) that the lower water, which is under Heaven collect itself together, into one whole, and that the chaos become dry, and it became so. ” “Out of the waves I created rock hard and big, and from the rock I piled up the dry, and the dry I called earth, and the midst of the earth I called abyss, that is to say the bottomless, I collected the sea in one place and bound it together with a yoke.” “And I said to the sea: ‘Behold, I give you (your) eternal limits, and you shalt not break loose from your component parts.’ Thus I made fast the firmament. This day I called me the first-created [Sunday].”

Understanding the Mayan Calendar: Selections from “The Book of Destiny: Unlocking the Secrets of the Ancient Mayans and the Prophecy of 2012” by Don Carlos Barrios (vegetarian), Part 2 of 3

00:13:42

Understanding the Mayan Calendar: Selections from “The Book of Destiny: Unlocking the Secrets of the Ancient Mayans and the Prophecy of 2012” by Don Carlos Barrios (vegetarian), Part 2 of 3

In today’s program, we are going to explore the meaning of the Mayan signs governing each day of the Mayan months. Don Carlos Barrios wrote the following about the significance of the 13 months in the Cholq’ij calendar: The 13 numbers are conceptualized similar to a pyramid. From numbers 1 to 7 we are climbing with much effort. At the number 8 we are in a position where perfect harmony is possible and on the top of the pyramid, and 9 to 13 is directed downhill, creating more ease with the energies, as they are no longer so forceful in developing us. This varies slightly between men and women: for men, 8 is considered to be the top of the pyramid as they are considered to typically be more balanced physically and have to struggle more to reach the spiritual levels than women, where 9 is the top of the pyramid, where they are typically thought to be slightly less stable in the physical realms but have an easier time accessing the spiritual. “Our Grandfathers warn that this ancient tradition is not to be treated as a curiosity, not to be indulged in as a form of entertainment, and not to be used selfishly. Instead, it should guide our growth on all levels - physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual. Mayan life and spirituality are built on understanding and using the following signs, which governed the Classic Mayan world and have been preserved by our traditional Elders. On August 17, 1992, the planet entered a new cycle, one of comprehension, wisdom, and harmony. This new cycle is a time of great change in the world’s social and economic structure. For this reason, the doors of Mayan wisdom are being opened to humankind. Now that the period of darkness has ended, the Elders have resolved to publish the Mayan signs as an instrumental way of understanding our true purpose. The hope is that everyone will orient their life based on their sign and follow Saq B’e (the White Road). Respect for historical accuracy is one of the strictest and most important rules: not a single word is ever added to or removed from our texts or oral tradition. This book (The Book of Destiny) is a commitment to reality - that is, to our Grandfathers’ vision. Although as human beings we have many limitations, we can find a way to overcome them in the depth and transcendence to be found in these signs. The task of using the signs in one’s personal life, however, requires a real desire to conform to a new way of life that balances technology and harmony with nature.”

Meeting the Master: From Godfré Ray King’s Unveiled Mysteries – The Dominion and Majesty of Ascended Master Saint Germain (vegetarian), Part 1 of 2

Guy Warren Ballard was a United States mining engineer and a co-founder, together with his wife Edna Anne Wheeler Ballard, of the “I AM” spiritual movement, inspired by his life-changing meeting with the Ascended Master Saint Germain. Following this enlightening encounter, Mr. Ballard devoted his life to spreading the Master’s wisdom, according to his capacity. From Master Saint Germain’s dictation and teachings, Mr. Ballard wrote a series of books under the pseudonym Godfré Ray King. Master Saint Germain’s imparted spiritual knowledge was the basis for many lectures given by Mr. Ballard, as well as for the founding of the “I AM” Religious Activity in the early 1930s. By 1938, it had up to one million followers. Today, the volumes documenting the precious mysteries revealed by the Ascended Master to Godfré Ray King are still a fascinating spiritual gem for many across the globe. The three most famous volumes are titled “Unveiled Mysteries,” “The Magic Presence,” and “The ‘I AM’ Discourses.”Today, we will read an excerpt from Guy Warren Ballard’s, or Godfré Ray King’s book “Unveiled Mysteries.” “Remember always – ‘One becomes - that - upon which he meditates’ - and since all things have come forth from the ‘Light’ - ‘Light’ - is the Supreme Perfection - and Control - of all things.” “Contemplation and adoration of the ‘Light’ compels Illumination to take place in the mind - health, strength, and order to come into the body - and peace, harmony, and success to manifest in the affairs of every individual - who will really do it, and seeks to maintain it.”“All the way down the centuries - in every age, under every condition - we are told by all who have expressed the greater accomplishments of Life that - the ‘Light’ is Supreme - the ‘Light’ is everywhere - and in the ‘Light’ - exist all things.” “To any who are of that opinion, I wish to say simply this: ‘The time the average person spends in criticizing, condemning, and blaming - people, conditions, and things - for not being something other than they are - if occupied with this recognition and use of the “Light” - will make Heaven manifest on Earth - for the individual who dares to try and has determination enough to maintain it. Nothing is impossible. The “Light” never fails.’”

Selections from The Astral City - Chapter 4: The Spirit Doctor

Selections from The Astral City - Chapter 4: The Spirit Doctor

Spiritism emerged in the mid-19th century through the findings and philosophy of French educator Hippolyte Léon Denizard Rivail, also known as Allan Kardec. Spiritism followers explore the nature, origin and destiny of souls, often through afterlife communication, conveyed via a medium. Numerous books have been written that provide insights into the afterlife and the soul’s immortality. One such volume is “Nosso Lar,” or “The Astral City,” by Spirit André Luiz through Spiritist medium Francisco Cândido Xavier. Francisco Cândido Xavier was a well-known Brazilian philanthropist who co-authored more than 400 books. In “The Astral City,” former medical doctor André Luiz speaks from the afterlife of his awakening and healing within a spiritual society near the Earth’s surface. This story describes not only the continuation of life beyond the physical body, but more importantly how Heaven cares for each and every human soul. The following excerpt from “The Astral City” describes how André Luiz was strengthened spiritually upon his rescue from the Lower Zones.

Practice What You Believe: Faith Panel on the Relationship between Religion and Veganism, Part 2 of 4

00:11:56

Practice What You Believe: Faith Panel on the Relationship between Religion and Veganism, Part 2 of 4

In today’s episode, we’re going to hear about some of the ingrained cultural convictions and habits which act, in many people of faith, as impediments to espousing a mindful meat-and-dairy-free lifestyle, and how religious vegan activists address these sensitive obstacles in the heart of their worshiping communities. “So now, just to get to the dairy association, where it’s instructed on how to look after the cows. There’s associated scriptures with the Bhagavad Gita called ‘the Vedas’ and the Atharva Ved Part 2, 3 and 4, 5 goes into explaining and instructing exactly how to look after cows. So, at that time, the Atharva Ved says that, you only take milk from cows that are free and grazing in the sun, that are eating grass, and that have had their calves fed first. It also instructs us not to kill any cows. And we are not to drink any milk from cows that are not looked after in this way.” “And again, this reference that people make back to Genesis, that God gave humans dominion over the Earth. And historically, that that’s been kind of received as being more like domination, and an excuse to use and exploit the Earth’s resources. And it’s actually been used to justify colonialism, patriarchy, racism and is now used to justify the way that we treat the planet basically, and its inhabitants. And I think there’s a shift in people’s thinking in Christianity which is really refreshing - that to understand dominion not as domination but as stewardship. And that means that we have responsibility towards and for God’s creation, not our kind of playground and resource pit. So, we’re looking after it on behalf of God, and we’re actually thinking about the consequences of what happens when we don’t look after it.” “And a lot of the work that we do is trying to persuade people that you don’t have to choose between your religion and your diet. And so, what we’ve put a lot of effort into, is taking these very stereotypically Jewish dishes and veganizing them. And saying to people, look, you can have 90% of the taste and it’s vegan and you don’t have to make such a sacrifice.” Indeed, we don’t have to abandon religious culinary traditions to adopt a vegan diet. We can integrate and embrace both thanks to the ever-burgeoning cornucopia of plant-based substitutes that are readily available in the markets today, and thanks to the proliferation, on the internet, of delicious, healthy and ingeniously creative vegan recipes which emulate time-honored dishes.

“I felt a profound sense of veneration and awe as I gazed at the soft light streaming through my window. I realized that on Earth I had never looked up at the Sun and raised my thoughts to the One, Who in His infinite mercy, had given it to us to shine on our journey. I was like a blind man who, after living so long in darkness, was blessed with the ability to see the splendor of nature. The first collective prayer I had attended at the Astral City had worked a radical change in me. An unexpected peace filled my soul for the first time in many years of suffering, and my heart, so long empty, was once again filled with hope.”

I-Kuan Tao - The Three Treasures

00:12:33

I-Kuan Tao - The Three Treasures

I-Kuan Tao means Consistent Way or Persistent Way. I-Kuan Tao is also known as Tian Dao. I-Kuan Tao is a Chinese salvationist religion that emerged from the Xiantiandao, (“Way of Former Heaven”) tradition in the late 19th century, in Shandong, China. I-Kuan Tao is a combination of spiritual ideas based on Confucius Teachings, and a deep respect and belief in the Lao Mu, the Eternal Primordial Mother and Maitreya, the future Buddha. In I-Kuan Tao, the three treasures are: Xuan Kwan (The Mystic Portal or Heavenly Portal), Wu-tzu-Jen-ching (Divine Mantra) and Ho Tong (The Covenant or Symbolic Seal). These three treasures are spiritual practices that are capable of keeping the believers safe and protect them, as well as enable the believers to reach sainthood. We will now share with you, “I-Kuan Tao – The Three Treasures.” “The first Treasure is the Mystic Portal. It is the spiritual nexus of your being. If the eyes are the windows to the soul, then the portal is the proper doorway.” “It is the door to the soul. When it is closed, the soul cannot be in touch with anyone. Once this doorway has been pointed and opened by an ordained master in the initiation ritual, you can use it in everyday life. In times of danger, it will help you avoid disaster, and keep yourself safe.” “The second Treasure is the Wordless True Sutra. It consists of sounds without words. It resonates with us deep in the heart. It is beyond the ordinary sounds and writings of the material world, for it is a mantra of power. This Treasure should not be said aloud or written down.” “Using the Wordless True Sutra will let you tap into more of your potential than you ever thought possible. If obstacles in life are like the morning fog, then the Wordless True Sutra is like the sun. When the sun comes out, the fog dissipates into nothingness, and you can see everything clearly.” “The third Treasure is the Hand Seal. The central meaning of this Treasure is nurturing love. It is a gesture where the left hand holds the right in a symbolic representation of the tender loving care that you feel when you hold an infant in your arms. The Hand Seal serves as a reminder of the child within us, our original nature beyond good and bad, right and wrong, judgement and criticism. Like the other Treasures, the Hand Seal can shield you from harm. In a crisis, the Hand Seal will help you maintain your safety and reduce your fears, so you can get yourself out of danger. Your fate is literally in your own hands. With the Hand Seal, you are able to not just change your fate, but also create your own destiny.”

Understanding the Mayan Calendar: Selections from “The Book of Destiny: Unlocking the Secrets of the Ancient Mayans and the Prophecy of 2012” by Don Carlos Barrios (vegetarian), Part 3 of 3

Understanding the Mayan Calendar: Selections from “The Book of Destiny: Unlocking the Secrets of the Ancient Mayans and the Prophecy of 2012” by Don Carlos Barrios (vegetarian), Part 3 of 3

As Don Carlos Barrios explains in the following introductory excerpt, the time has come to share this ancient wisdom. Here is an Energy Table containing all 260 energies found in the sacred Cholq’ij calendar. This is a tool to help us find our Mayan sign. In each row, there is a sign for the 20 days in each month; and in each of the columns, we can find 13 forces, representing 13 months. Here is a Calendar Table, which begins on the first day of 1900 and ends on December 21, 2012, because the Mayan Long Count calendar ended on that day. Symbols are provided for each 13-day cycle. So what we need to do is to: “...Find the year you were born and then look down to find the preceding date closest to your birthday. On the right is the corresponding Mayan date. Write this down. Now turn back to the Energy Table and find the name of the sign on the left and the corresponding number along that row in the cells to the right.” “The energy and information in each day’s sign, both positive and negative according to the different stages of life, is used to guide people, help them find their purpose, indicate aspects that will allow them to achieve this goal, and thus shape their destiny. The relationship of the fixed or mobile cycles of change that govern people must also be kept in mind. Through a person’s sign, we can establish the abilities, gifts, spiritual qualities, or paranormal properties that person possesses and outline the places or energy centers that will help him or her develop. The practice of following Mayan signs enabled the traditional Classic Mayan world to be a harmonious civilization. No one lived in opposition to their own energies and destiny. Everyone respected each other because they knew they were all part of an evolutionary whole in the cosmic plan. The mandate that each person was born with was honored.” “No one labored at anything other than what they were born to do as indicated in their sign. Everyone therefore grew in a unified and enriching manner, completely in tune with their own makeup and with Mother Nature. It offers us the opportunity to become self-realized according to our individual capabilities, to increase our understanding of ourselves, and to relate to the energies that manifest each day. A more enlightened humanity is anxious to achieve real, conscious growth.”

Practice What You Believe: Faith Panel on the Relationship between Religion and Veganism, Part 1 of 4

On October 27, 2019, a discussion titled “Faith Panel on the Relationship between Religion and Veganism” which took place in London, England, explored the interrelations between spiritual beliefs and cruelty-free, plant-based living. It was organized as part of London’s VegFestUK, one of the biggest annual vegan festivals in Great Britain, dedicated to celebrating, expanding and relishing with gusto the life-affirming vegan trend. Each of the individuals in this respectable group of advocates reached the conclusion that being vegan is an essential aspect of following their respective holy scriptures. Moreover, it is the only way to truly live in harmony with the spiritual values of virtue and compassion. These panel members discuss how they came to realize that our concern for the welfare of animals lies at the very heart of any religious belief and thus should ideally be a top priority for any person of faith. “I’d say that veganism and Judaism more than correlate. I’d say that they go hand-in-hand. And that’s what as an organization, the ‘Jewish Vegetarian Society,’ soon to be renamed with ‘vegan’ in the title, is trying to achieve.” “And I’ve got one quote from the Prophet Muhammad, Peace be upon Him. It says, ‘A good deed done to an animal is like a good deed done to a human being, while an act of cruelty to an animal is as bad as cruelty to a human being.’ And I think that’s self-explanatory.”“The Bhagavad Gita is a sacred scripture and the basis of Hinduism. The fundamental principle of the Bhagavad Gita is that there is Divine Energy everywhere. For instance, in Chapter 10, Verse 20, which says, ‘O Arjuna, I’m seated in the heart of all living entities. I am the beginning, middle and end of all of these beings.’” “So, on these bases it’s obvious that Hinduism discourages consumption of animals, animal flesh and meat.”“I think it’s quite simplistic to jump to a verse in Genesis, in the Old Testament, where it says that God gives humans every seed and seed-bearing plant for food, as a kind of endorsement that we should be vegan, and that that was what God’s big plan for us was.”
