India, a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion laureate and a Shining World Compassion Award recipient, has provided Sudan, South Sudan, Djibouti and Eritrea with a total of 270 metric tons of food in response to natural disasters and COVID-19. The aid consists of 155 metric tons of wheat flour, 65 metric tons of rice, and 50 metric tons of sugar, and was transported from Mumbai on an Indian naval ship. In an official statement, the Ministry of External Affairs of India noted, “The strong bonds of friendship and brotherly relations between India and countries in Africa have been forged and strengthened over several centuries.” A high salute, India. May your generous contribution bring much nourishment to the gentle beneficiaries, in Heaven’s elevating grace.New study reveals massive environmental footprint of animal products. A study commissioned by Switzerland-based global investment company Blue Horizon found that the environmental footprints of four different animal proteins, namely, egg, pork, chicken and beef, are 3.2 to 15 times higher than plant-based alternatives. Entitled “Environmental impacts of animal and plant-based food,” the report highlighted that just replacing 10% of meat with plant-based food would free up 38 million hectares of land by 2030, an area larger than the size of Germany. Furthermore, it would prevent 176 million tons of CO2 emissions, which is the equivalent of saving 2.7 billion trees and enough water for the entire population of New York State for five years. In conclusion, the analysis urged everyone to transition to a more sustainable plant-based food system. Many thanks for this report, Blue Horizon. For the survival of all beings, may humanity quickly take heed and embrace the vegan lifestyle, in God’s wisdom.Up next, Japan pledges to be carbon neutral by 2050. Preliminary government data has revealed that the rate of people in the United States who took their own lives in 2019 showed a slight decline, down to 13.9 per 100,000 people. It was the first annual drop in more than a decade. The positive trend was hailed by Dr. Christine Moutier, Chief Medical Officer of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, who applauded concerted efforts, including mental health screenings. While the latest figures are pre-pandemic, Dr. Moutier signaled that COVID-19 had brought positive aspects, such as greater acceptance of the normalcy of mental health distress, and of seeking counseling. She also highlighted the increasing availability of telemedicine, in which patients can consult doctors remotely. A hand to the heart in appreciation for the mental health professionals and all involved. May humans everywhere assist each other through life’s challenges, as we pray for happier lives for all beings, in Heaven’s benevolence.British preschooler makes Christmas presents for less fortunate children. Dr. Peter Nolosco, a veterinarian in Muscat, Oman, welcomed the new law while also commenting, “The awareness of proper respect for animals must originate in schools, so that children learn to take care of them.” Thank you, Oman, for taking this legal step to increase the welfare of our loving animal friends. In order not to let my parents, who love me, worry, I endured everything alone. I had nowhere to express my desperation and pain. I only knew that I should look for Lord Jesus Christ, so I prayed to the loving Father God to let me sleep in Hiers arms to recover some strength. That night, I really peacefully fell asleep during the prayer, and woke up amidst a wonderful voice of poetry recitation the next morning, and then I could work normally. One evening a few days later, again, I fell asleep in prayer. In my dream, I was embraced by a sacred and peaceful white light. Jesus Christ appeared in a white robe and long hair with His back facing me, just the way I remember. In awe and excitement, I walked to Him, and He slowly turned around -- it’s Master Ching Hai… Then I woke up, and realized that Master is always looking after me in different appearances. Master, please allow me to tell You that I love You so much, and it is such a great honor to be Your disciple and receive Your endless love in this life. Thank You for loving me and looking after us disciples and everyone. After that, I have been earning my living by baking vegan cakes. I have learned some techniques and got some inspiration from vegan cuisine shows on Supreme Master Television so that my business is prospering. Thank you, the Supreme Master Television team, for your selfless dedication! With my love, Hsiao-Chiao from Taiwan (Formosa)Strong Hsiao-Chiao, Our gratitude for your letter, which was very moving and touched our hearts. “Calmness and Silence” and Other Selections from “Así Hablaba Quetzalcóatl (Thus Spoke Quetzalcóatl),” Part 2 of 2
“Calmness and Silence ‘Those who search for Silence in calmness will never find it naked. To lay it uncovered you have to search for it among turbulence. Tell me: Of what good is it for a heart to have calmness in solitude? Is it not like the calmness a stagnant lake has in a valley? Yet, how great is a heart when among difficulties and problems it keeps calm and dresses with Silence! It is like the torrent that slides down, serene by the side of the mountain. Some go to places where the most that could bother them would be the chirping of a little bird, or the sound that the wind draws out from the leaves of the trees. And they think: I am tranquil and calm in these places, I have achieved calmness, and Silence is the friend of my heart. But when you get in touch with uproar, your pulses flutter and your hearts get stirred up, and your thoughts collide with violence on your foreheads. And I would ask you: Where have you kept calmness? What dwelling did you prepare for it in your chests that it went away so soon? Know that he who seeks for inner Silence should find it among noises and voices and screams, and taking it should settle with it in your heart, and when you listen to it, you will not hear towards the outside, but towards the inside. And indeed I tell you that not even a hundred storms, nor the explosion of a thousand volcanoes, could ever take you apart from it. To seek them, for inner calmness, do not go to where everything is calm, but to where there is no peace, and be you the peace. That way, in giving it you will find it, and you will have it in the same way that you see how others need you to calm down.’” “An Example in Order to Flourish ‘Men and Women: You will never learn. Do you happen to think you will praise Heaven taking something that He put on Earth for a purpose? Do you really think that by destroying the lives of these beings you flatter Our Creator? These creatures were not put on Earth to be taken and abused for being inferior, just as neither were the animals, nor the birds, nor the least of your brothers among men. If you really need plants to feed yourselves, take only that which you can eat, but do not get carried away by greed, for that unbalances the Earth. If you want to raise an altar to the Eternal, take Nature itself for an altar, and take care of it; because you will make your God rejoice more by leaving each flower and each animal and each brother of yours where they are, rather than by cutting their lives off. Can’t you understand you are taking death and leaving life behind? And may you be the flowers that embellish the temples, for it is true that a humble but filled with love surpasses the greatest palace filled with flowers. Leave then the appearances now, and do not deceive others by putting beautiful fronts outside your hearts.’” “Journey Companions ‘My journey companions here on Earth, Heaven fixed a long time ago. The only thing I am doing now is to reap what He sowed. How many lifetimes have you come to my side? And how many more will you stay with me? Know that Heaven never forsook you. Loneliness sprang from your isolation, but He never stayed apart from you. Do not be deluded by the appearances with which are dressed the things of this world, and know how to distinguish underneath them. Because He can be concealed to the eyes of the flesh, but not to the eyes of the Spirit. And your Master can be very close, without you recognizing him, the same way your path brothers are, and you do not recognize them. There is a saying in wise and faraway lands that goes: When the disciple is prepared, the Master appears. But I ask you: Could it be that the Master never abandoned us, and it was only our ignorance that kept Him concealed?’”

Today, December 24th, is Christmas Eve. We are going to present two cartoon films about this joyous and holy holiday season featuring our legendary animal friends: “The Star” and the 1948 “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” The film “The Star” transports us back to “Nazareth, 9 months B.C.” A kind and loving Mary is visited by an angel telling her that she has been chosen to bear the Son of God, the Messiah. Just at that moment, a new star rises in the sky glowing brightly in the night, preempting a Light that will uplift the whole world. Our main character is a young donkey who is chained to a grinding wheel, walking around and around in a never-ending circle. Donkey’s best friend, Dave the Dove, is determined to help make his dreams come true. When they see the new star rising, they know that their time has come. Finally, they escape, chased vigorously by the miller. Donkey hurt his ankle during the pursuit and ends up looking for refuge in Mary and Joseph’s courtyard, where the couple have just gotten married. Directed by Timothy Reckart, “The Star” is a beautiful 2017 animation film that retells the Nativity of Jesus from the animals’ point of view and is a “must-see” for Christmas audiences. In 1939, Robert Lewis May worked for Montgomery Ward, a popular department store, and was assigned to write a “cheery” Christmas book for shoppers. Thus, the most famous reindeer, Rudolph, was created. In 1948, Robert May’s brother-in-law, Johnny Marks, adapted the story into a song that immediately became a number one hit. Since then, the story has been published in various books and made into many movies. Today, we are going to present the short film made in 1948, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” the very first telling of the story on screen. Directed and produced by Max Fleischer, this inspiring short film shows us that when we are different from others, it may be a special gift from God!

The interest in vegan horticulture and gardening has expanded exponentially, as more people become aware of how typical methods of growing plants and crops involve the use of environmentally damaging synthetic chemicals and practices that harm our precious animal co-inhabitants. "I’m Matthew Appleby, I’m editor for 'Horticulture Week.' I first started about 20 years ago being a vegan. I realized this was quite a sort of doable way of living. What motivates most people to become vegan is because they care about animals. And they care about the environment. And they care about their health, and it’s a combination of those three. Vegan gardening is gardening without exploiting animals. So, it’s using homemade composts and fertilizers, rather than animal composts and animal-based fertilizers. It’s also gardening with wildlife in mind. So rather than exploiting animals or trying to attract animals, it’s leaving the animals to do their own thing on your plot. It’s also gardening for vegan health. So, I’m interested in growing what’s nutritionally right for a vegan. I make vegan compost just the same as anyone else is making compost. You can have your kitchen scraps, your grass cuttings, leaves, you can have any leftover vegetable matter, but you just don’t use anything that’s animal-based. So, you don’t use anything which is from a farmed animal and you wouldn’t chuck in your eggshells, and you wouldn’t chuck in meat anyway because it basically doesn’t compost well, and it attracts rodents. I don’t dig, and I think it’s really common in a lot of areas of gardening now, and non-vegan gardeners increasingly not digging. And that a lot of people see this as a really good idea because you don’t want to disturb the layers of the soil because you know you create erosion, you break up your beneficial animals’ homes. So, I plant covered crops. Hopefully they’ll break down and put some nitrogen back in the soil, get some organic matter back in the soil which will create quite a good sort of soil crumb." Our appreciation Matthew Appleby, for your dedication to assisting gardeners to attain healthy and ecologically-sound green spaces. May the Heavens forever bless you! We hope to see more of your work in the future. Best wishes for your noble prospective endeavors!

Violators face a penalty of up to US$90. Department stores and other facilities could be penalized up to US$2,700 if their patrons are not obeying the law. Children under 14, individuals with certain medical or mental conditions, and those at swimming pools and public baths are exempt. So how about showing it outwardly every day by being vegan? I have a cool tip to help you get your car going during winter months. It can be harder to start your car engine in cold temperatures, and it doesn’t always mean that your car battery is dead if the engine doesn’t turn on after one attempt. Try switching on your radio, high beams, or turn signals for a few minutes to warm up the battery. This should help to start your engine again. Thank you for watching and love you for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all of us humans and all co-inhabitants alike. Here’s the weather around the world!Paris to increase city’s green areas. France’s capital city is set to add to its green spaces by planting 170,000 trees and augment the size of its gardens and parks by 30 hectares. The project will help cool the city during the hot summer, improve the quality of life of Parisians, and reduce the effects of climate change. Five urban forests will be planted and 100 “oasis streets” with lush living walls will be made near schools or in areas that don’t have greenery. Tree lined promenades will also be created at the Canal Saint Martin and Canal de l’Ourcq, and more. Such refreshing news, Paris, on the further greening of your magnificent city. May your newly planted trees and gardens flourish as they bless your citizens with serenity and fresh cool air, in addition to providing homes to countless animal friends.Electric vehicle drivers save 50% on maintenance costs. Consumer Reports, an American nonprofit consumer advocacy organization, recently released its reliability survey results that show over a car’s lifetime, electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles have 50% less repair and upkeep expenses than gasoline-powered models. The survey calculated the cost per mile of repairs over the vehicle’s expected lifetime, which was set at 200,000 miles (321,000 kilometers). In a separate study by the entity, it was determined that electric models produce on average 60% less greenhouse gas emissions than gasoline-powered ones in the United States. The analysis took into consideration the pollutants created by the power plants that supply the electricity. Thank you, Consumer Reports, for bringing to light the large cost savings to our pockets and the environment from electric automobile ownership. May greener cars be embraced globally as we give thanks for the remarkable eco-innovations of our time, in God’s light.British man draws pet portraits for homeless charity. Phil Heckels from Worthing, United Kingdom, has raised almost £35,000 for Turning Tides, a local homeless services organization, by drawing light-hearted caricatures of animal companions, including dogs, cats, mice, a praying mantis and a hedgehog. The endeavor started after he drew a picture of his family’s dog companion to inspire his six-year-old son to make a thank you card and shared it on Facebook under the pseudonym Hercule Van Wolfwinkle, joking that people could order an animal friend portrait for £299. His work became very popular, with many orders coming in and all proceeds going to Turning Tides, which he has long supported. Heaven’s blessings, Phil Heckels, for your loving project. May your delightful artwork continue to bring smiles to many as your sweet efforts help our sisters and brothers have safe and warm shelter, in Divine goodness.Coming up, almost all first-time plant-based meat buyers during pandemic plan a repurchase. A report from the United States-headquartered major food producer Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) states that 97% of Americans who tried their first animal-free meat products during the COVID-19 crisis say they will buy them again. The surveyed consumers cited the meat analogs as being safer and healthier than animal protein along with convenience as their primary reasons for buying plant-based brands like Beyond Meat, Gardein, Impossible Foods, Lightlife and MorningStar Farms. Ana Ferrell, ADM’s Vice President of Marketing, commented that this change in eating habits would “lead to some exciting innovations and market introductions in the next 12 to 18 months.” Kudos, Ana Ferrell and the Archer Daniels Midland team, for highlighting this outstanding news! In the benevolence of the Providence, we pray for a swift global transition to a plant-based food system.Australian greater gliders recognized as three different species. A project by James Cook University PhD student Denise McGregor and other researchers examined the DNA of 50 greater gliders, who can soar up to 100 meters among the eucalyptus trees where the marsupial lives and forages. The researchers discovered that the glider is actually three distinct species. This follows a similar finding regarding the sugar glider, which was also found to be made up of more than one species. Scientists are hopeful that the new taxonomical classifications will help provide better protection of the precious greater gliders that have experienced an 80% population loss nationwide in the past 20 years. The discovery has been published in the peer-reviewed journal Scientific Reports. Our salute, Denise McGregor and colleagues. Your research gives us fascinating insight into these awesome high-flying friends, as we also give thanks to Heaven for all our amazing animal co-inhabitants.Now, time to tone the muscles of your face with a good laugh entitled “Adults – Explained.” Big brother Larry decided to see if his little brother Jerry really understood how children and grownups differ:“Jerry, who is considered an adult?”“A person who has stopped growing at both ends and is now growing in the middle.”And now we have a heartline from Hanjun in Korea: Hallo, I first experienced the inner Heavenly Light and Sound 15 years after being initiated by Master Ching Hai, and it’s been 25 years now. I’d like to tell you the story of the moment I had my first inner Heavenly Light and Sound experience. For the first 15 years after initiation, I joined many of Master’s projects and was busy and practicing diligently, but I had no inner experience, which made me confused in my life. Then one day, when I came back and was lying in my room, I suddenly saw inner Heavenly Light from my wisdom eye. I went to the bathroom to check if it was real or not. In perfect darkness, I could really see the Light. And after a couple of days, I also started to hear the inner Heavenly Sound. I concentrated 24-hours a day to not lose that Sound, and even concentrated while I was taking walks through forests. But then, the inner Heavenly Sound changed to a Sound reciting the Five Holy Names, I could hear it even while among the forest trees like the sound of the wind, And also, when I’d come out of my house and take walks at night, from the dark sky, it was heard like angels were singing in unison. At that time, the real Quan Yin Method of inner Heavenly Light and Sound began. And I could feel my wisdom grow little by little. I really feel that the Quan Yin Method is indeed a formless, subtle method. Probably the most important thing is spiritual evolution and liberation through Master Power. I sincerely thank You again, Master Ching Hai. Hanjun from KoreaFaithful Hanjun, We thank you for sharing your meditative experiences with us.Master wrote the following to you: “Attuned Hanjun, know that your light shines brightly inside and out and that I love you. I applaud your trust and faith in the Quan Yin Method and am pleased that you can see progress in your spiritual practice. The Heavenly Light and Sound are there 24/7 since the time of initiation. It takes soul level of undiluted concentration to realize it. Glad you notice them at last! Better late than never. Wishing you much more joy and peace in your meditation and in your daily life. May Heaven bless you and your dear ones, and shine Love and Light on the delightful Korean people.”We welcome your heartlines, stories and or cute, loving animal clips. In 2019, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a Shining World Leadership Awards for Environment Protection and Peace laureate, made a commitment to provide the Sudanese with extensive aid that would advance their country’s stability and satisfy their basic needs. Shortly after Sudan and Israel agreed to normalize relations in 2020, the UAE – represented by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development – deposited US$250 million with the Central Bank of Sudan and donated US$119.8 million to the government’s budget. Additionally, the fund delivered more than 540,000 metric tons of wheat, 136 metric tons of medical provisions as well as school supplies for 400,000 students. The total value of the UAE’s recent assistance to Sudan is approximately US$557 million. We gratefully applaud your generosity, United Arab Emirates! Your responsive oneness with the people of Sudan gives us hope for peace on Earth and answers Heaven’s prayer for goodwill among men.Pandemic virus can last up to four weeks on some surfaces. Scientists at the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP) in the state of Victoria studied how long SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19, can survive on common surfaces and at varying temperatures. On glass, stainless steel and paper money, the pathogen remains viable for as long as 28 days at 20 degrees Celsius and away from direct sunlight. The research, published in the Virology Journal, also found that on porous materials and as temperature is increased, the microorganism’s life span is shortened. Try upgrading your diet like me and you’ll see the difference it makes in your social life! Here is a simple way to keep your kids entertained when you can’t take them to the beach: make your own play sand! The basic recipe calls for 8 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 cup of baby oil, but you can multiply the amounts based on the size of your plastic tub or sandbox. Mix the two ingredients thoroughly with your hands until the oil is completely absorbed. Before inviting the children to play, add some molds and plastic garden tools to spark their imagination. When the fun is over, you can store the play sand for next time in a big bag with the air squeezed out. A research team at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore has developed a robot that can respond to being damaged. Sensor nodes enhanced with artificial intelligence “feel” when pressure is exerted by a physical force. Miniature processors located on the surface of the unit allow for localized learning and response times that can be 10 times faster than a conventional robot. These abilities, combined with an onboard supply of ion gel, mean that if the machine is accidentally punctured, gel will be released to repair damaged circuits and restore full functionality while the device continues to work. The NTU researchers hope to collaborate with industry and government partners on larger-scale applications. Kudos to the brilliant engineers at Nanyang Technological University! Your advancements in robotics foretell a wondrous future for our peaceful, vegan planet, redeemed by the grace of God.Dutch train stations are now completely smoke-free. Every year, the first day of October marks the beginning of “Stoptober” – four weeks when smokers around the Netherlands try to quit. The campaign organizers offer support through social media and regular smoking cessation services to facilitate long-term abstinence. In 2020, October 1st was also the end of smoking at all train stations and platforms. Station retailers are not even allowed to sell any tobacco products. People shopping for cigarettes at outside stores will notice that all brands now have generic brown and green packaging, designed to make the health warnings more visible and to discourage sales. By 2022, the drab colors will be required for cigars and electronic cigarettes as well. Several members of the Secaucus Police Department in New Jersey, United States, were dispatched when a desperate father called to report that his little boy was turning blue. When the officers arrived at the family’s home, the mother, following the instructions of the 911 dispatcher, was administering CPR to her 5-week-old baby, who was not breathing. Officer Mikhail Kowlessar immediately picked up the infant, turned him over, and pat him on the back a few times. As soon as the blockage was dislodged, the newborn began breathing again. Just to be safe, the baby was transported to a local medical center for observation until the following morning. Our heartfelt gratitude and Heaven bless you, Police Officer Mikhail Kowlessar and fellow responders. Your prompt, professional and life-saving actions have reinforced a young family’s faith in God’s boundless love. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Gladly present the Shining World Hero Award to Officer Mikhail Kowlessar, with respectful salute, warm praises and gratefulness for your noble work. May God shield you always.”Coming up, vending machine serves hot vegan meals to London hospital workers. Andrew Wheeler, Administrator of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), has taken steps to stop all mammal testing by 2035. This will spare up to 750 rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and other animals annually from harmful experiments that contribute little or nothing to decision making. The department’s new perspective was catalyzed by meetings with scientists from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). The EPA has also partnered with the PETA International Science Consortium to host a series of free webinars on the use of alternative, non-animal methods for assessing toxicity.
