In today’s news, our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai graciously presents Shining World Compassion Award to animal welfare organization in Oregon, United States, German study finds high pesticide levels in streams, Hong Kong consulting company’s Chief Happiness Officer recommends practicing gratitude for better life, paramedics in United Kingdom receive robots to assist in emergency resuscitation, 96-year-young retired American lawyer dedicates time to help Nepalese children, plant-based diet on rise in Turkey, and three Mexican states implement legislation to better safeguard animals by increasing animal abuse penalties.

In Shining World Compassion Award News from the United States …

The Pongo Fund initially began when founder Larry Chusid offered help to a group of people living in a homeless campsite in Oregon, USA. After being introduced to their two canine companions who were lacking food and supplies, Mr. Chusid bought dog food, treats, coats and beds for them. From this initial act of kindness, the Pongo Fund was born. With around 175,000 animal companions that have been assisted, and 21 million meals later, the Pongo Fund continues to fulfill its stated mission of helping the animals of the less fortunate.

“Just a few weeks ago, there was a group of second and third graders who did a food drive for the Pongo Fund, and they also made these beautiful blankets. They did this in class, the blankets that they gave to us, and they wrote words of hope on each one. ‘Thank you for caring for your pet. We hope you will live a happy life.’ And these are blankets that we now share with people in the homeless community to use for warmth for their own animals. We’ve accomplished far more here than we ever thought possible, in ways that we never even dreamed of. We didn’t realize that every single animal we helped was going to be connected to a person, who was going to be connected to another person, who was going to be connected to another animal. And for many of these people, they might not have anyone else. When they come to see us, we welcome them with open arms on their terms. We welcome them with love, and we just appreciate the chance to be helpers.”

Upon learning of the Pongo Fund’s heartfelt work on behalf of beloved animal companions, Supreme Master Ching Hai initially awarded US$15,000 to the organization and later happily offered “an extra US$20,000, plus the Shining World Compassion Award to Larry Chusid’s Pongo Fund, with all love and gratitude from the heart, in God’s mercy.”

“The Pongo Fund is a unique not-for-profit which offers support to companion animals of caregivers in need in Portland, Oregon. Your mission is to ‘provide quality food and vital veterinary care for the family pets of anyone in honest need, keeping them safe, healthy and out of the shelters.’ One of the services the Fund provides is free care for the animal friends of people without homes or citizens experiencing financial hardship. This pioneering venture represents a growing tide of empathy within the community, heralding a Golden Era of kindness.” Our Association members in Oregon, USA, were pleased to present the distinguished Award, along with Master’s check and Her beautiful publications to Mr. Chusid. The following is an excerpt from the Award letter.

“Supreme Master Ching Hai, You have made such an impression on my life and the life of millions. To have You find the Pongo Fund, to have You open Your heart to us with Your many, many blessings of kindness and generosity means so much more than my words can ever truly say. The Pongo Fund, with You and Your help, and Your love and Your kindness, You have helped us do so much more than we would be able to do otherwise. And on behalf of the tens of thousands of people and tens of thousands of animals that have turned to the Pongo Fund when they have needed us most, please know I thank You with complete heartfelt sincerity and gratitude for everything You have done for us and for so many more. Thank You.”

Our respectful congratulations, Larry Chusid, the Pongo Fund Team and all volunteers. We take great comfort in knowing that the Pongo Fund is providing love and assistance to so many people’s cherished animal companions and wish you much joy and blessings, in God’s protective care.

For the full presentation of the Shining World Compassion Award to Larry Chusid’s Pongo Fund, please tune in to our Shining World Awards program at a later date.

German scientists find small streams heavily polluted with pesticides.

A group of researchers led by the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research in Germany recently completed a study on the level of pesticides in small streams that run through the nation’s agricultural areas. It was discovered that in 80% of the streams sampled, government thresholds for pesticide levels were exceeded and in some cases by 100 times, thereby damaging the delicate ecosystems. In addition, the team noted that the government thresholds themselves are too high and were not determined by using real-world studies. It was also found that the amount of pesticides in the streams after rain was significantly higher, and also some species of insects are significantly more sensitive to these substances than others. Thank you, researchers from Germany, for your thorough examination of the pesticide levels in German streams and their effects on fragile ecosystems. We pray that vegan organic farming practices will soon become the norm as we switch to Earth-friendly living, in the protection of the Providence.

Up next, Hong Kong consulting company’s Chief Happiness Officer recommends practicing gratitude for better life. Let’s now pause to thank the durian farmers, who over the years have grown durian trees from seed to provide us with this special fruit that is full of nutrition and gives us such a delicious eating experience. We’ll return with more positive news after this message here on Supreme Master Television. Vegan now: cuz we can’t fool Heaven.

Hey, amazing viewers, it’s Hailey the vegan White Icelandic Horse. Plant-based foods are so delicious! Come join the global trend and be vegan. Today I would like to share a safety tip with you. Make it a habit to check the electrical cords of your lamps and appliances regularly to reduce the chances of electrical fires. Replace the cords or get them repaired if you notice they are frayed. It is a good idea to take other preventive measures such as testing your smoke alarms each month and replacing their batteries every six months. Thank you for your attention, and lots of love for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet thus save the world! Now, the weather around the globe.

Consulting firm’s Chief Happiness Officer promotes gratitude for improved life.

Mahesh Pamnani of Hong Kong, who is the Chief Happiness Officer at a company he co-founded called Inspire2Aspire Consulting, recommends practicing gratitude to increase one’s happiness. He suggests enjoying the simple and free things in life, such as meditation, laughter yoga, appreciating being alive, the ocean, hiking, volunteering and anything that costs nothing to enjoy but is priceless. Mr. Pamnani was previously a successful businessman but was not happy or healthy. After regaining his health through natural means and finding joy within himself, he started the Inspire2Aspire Consulting business to help teach these principles to others. May Heaven bless you, Mahesh Pamnani, for sharing your wise insights into the secrets of being happy. May people around the world realize the joy that lies within as we connect to the source of inner radiance.

UK paramedics receive robots to help in restarting breathing.

The South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) in the United Kingdom is the first to receive robots to assist in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on patients. Called LUCAS-3, the life-saving device is configured using Bluetooth connectivity and provides consistent chest compressions to those experiencing a cardiac arrest. The transition from a person providing CPR to LUCAS-3 can be completed in seven seconds. Paramedics can then support the patient’s survival by doing other vital tasks. Funded by the SCAS Charity, 28 units of LUCAS-3, each costing US$17,000, will be used in their ambulances. What remarkable news, South Central Ambulance Service, on your deployment of LUCAS-3. May advances in technology continue to assist humans in supporting healthier and better lives, in Divine wisdom.

Ninety-six year young retired American lawyer empowers Nepalese children.

Prior to retirement over 30 years ago, Olga Murray, a California, USA lawyer, became determined to help Nepalese youth, following a trekking trip to the beautiful country of Nepal. At that time, Ms. Murray met young girls striving to learn despite their disadvantaged economic conditions. The dedicated humanitarian founded the Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation in 1990, now known as the Nepal Youth Foundation, which works to provide Nepalese children from impoverished families with education, housing, and medical care. Her organization has built 72 hospitals, helped educate more than 50,000 kids, freed approximately 13,000 girls who had been sold as bonded servants, and empowered former child servants to create bright new lives. Our sincere gratitude, Ms. Olga Murray, for your benevolence and unwavering dedication to humanity’s upliftment. May all the children in Nepal have the opportunity for a better life, education, and a promising future, in Buddha’s Heavenly grace.

Coming up, plant-based diet on rise in Turkey. We’ll be right back after checking up on our aging parents to make sure they are safe, happy and know how much we love them. Supreme Master Television will return in just a moment with more favorable news. Vegan: cuz we have better choices, man. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – High-thinking News for a Peaceful World.

More Turkish people adopting plant-based diet.

Per Middle East news source Al Bawaba, veganism is rising in Turkey. One of their articles introduces a few vegans in the country, such as Özge Sen and Belkis Boyacigiller, who opened the vegan restaurant Bi Nevi Deli in 2014. Ms. Boyacigiller credits the diet’s increasing popularity to the availability of vegan products in the country and the influence of Netflix documentaries showing the abysmal cruelty in and environmental destruction caused by animal factories along with the plant-based diet’s immense health benefits. Another interviewee, Dr. Murat Kinikoğlu, a vegan for more than seven years, explained that eating animals causes many diseases and recommends that his patients follow a vegan diet. Munevver Dobur, who became a vegan four years ago for environmental reasons, now embraces the ethical principles of protecting animals. Many thanks, Al Bawaba, for reporting on the rise of veganism in Turkey. May the generous Turkish people soon witness their country becoming a total vegan paradise, in Allah’s guidance.

Three Mexican states increase penalties for animal abuse.

Yucatán state has elevated the maximum sentence for animal abuse to up to three years in prison with a fine of as much as nearly US$90,000. The state of Mexico has similarly strengthened its animal protection laws, with sentences of up to nine years of incarceration if one is convicted of cruelty. In August 2021, the state of Nuevo León also passed animal welfare legislation that covers domestic animals and requires jail time as well as a fine in certain abuse cases. Our appreciation, Mexican state legislatures and kind citizens, for strengthening your animal protection laws. Your commitment to our beloved animal friends creates a more benevolent world for all, in God’s love.

Here’s a little humor to further brighten your mood. It’s called, “Vegan Pie Gift.”

Kimmy went to the supermarket to buy her son-in-law his favorite vegan pie. The box had the 10 dollars price stamped on the top, which she thought would be tacky on a gift. So she asked the man behind the counter to black out the price with his pen. It didn’t work because you could still see the price through the ink.

“I know what to do. I’ll just cover it up.”

And with that, he slapped a sticker over the price that read “$2.98 Day Old.”

And now we have a heartline from Grace in the United States:

Dear Master, I am 11 years old. I just want to say thank You for telling us all the secrets about this world and how to avoid maya’s traps, and thank You for working hard for a Vegan World! I have a hard time sleeping at night, but when I watch Your lectures, it helps me sleep at night! I am very happy that I know You. I don’t know what I would do without You! I don’t know what the world would do without You and the Supreme Master TV team! I love You very much! Grace from the United States

Joyful Grace, We are glad that through Supreme Master TV, Master’s energy helps you relax and rest. May God bless you, your family, and the active people of the United States with serenity and abundance.
