Dying while Living: from Philosophy of the Masters by Sant Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj, Part 2 of 2

So long as we yearn for life (in this world) we can never obtain this precious Jewel. It is through the Grace of the Lord that a rare devotee who dies while living can find this Jewel. So long as you cherish worldly desires, God Realization will not come to you. A person who dies while living lives forever. This dying while living has nothing to do with being cremated or buried. It is a state or condition in which the Master bestows eternal life on his disciples. The Master confers this death upon you to enable you to live eternally. So long as you remain alive on this earth, you should be able to leave your body at will and traverse the higher regions.

Dying while Living: from Philosophy of the Masters by Sant Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj, Part 1 of 2

Sant Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj was a disciple of the well-known Master of Beas, Hazur Maharaj Sawan Singh Ji. They met in 1924, in the Ashram of Baba Sawan Singh Ji on the banks of the Beas River. In the Master, Kirpal Singh Ji recognized the luminous form He had seen during the seven previous years in His meditation. Hazur Maharaj Sawan Singh Ji initiated Him into the spiritual discipline of Surat Shabd Yoga, and from then on Kirpal Singh Ji dedicated His life to reaching the summits of spirituality. In 1939, by an inspiration from His Master, Sant Kirpal Singh Ji began writing “Gurmat Sidhant – Philosophy of the Masters,” a treatise on the science of spirituality.

Being Raw, Wholesome and Vegan by Dr. Chau, Part 1 of 2 - Hong Kong Style Sautéed Vegetables

Let’s now make a raw salad. We will make them look like they’ve been sautéed. First, choose the vegetables. Many vegetables can be used. We usually use Chinese kale or Chinese cabbage. Today I have chosen spinach, and we usually use only the leaves as they are more nutritious and taste better. We like to give these vegetables a sautéed effect, but how is it possible without cooking? The trick is that we mix some salty ingredients in the leaves. Those leaves will soften gradually. Then, add oil to make them look like they’ve been sautéed.

Selection from The Secret of the Veda by Sri Aurobindo: Chapter XIII - Dawn and the Truth, Part 2 of 2

Selection from The Secret of the Veda by Sri Aurobindo: Chapter XIII - Dawn and the Truth, Part 2 of 2

The Dawn is the inner dawn which brings to man all the varied fullnesses of his widest being, force, consciousness, joy; it is radiant with its illuminations, it is accompanied by all possible powers and energies, it gives man the full force of vitality so that he can enjoy the infinite delight of that vaster existence. The luminous figure of the Dawn liberates us from the material, ritual, ignorant misunderstanding of the Veda which would lead us stumbling from pitfall to pitfall in a very night of chaos and obscurity; it opens to us the closed door and admits to the heart of the Vedic knowledge.

Selection from The Secret of the Veda by Sri Aurobindo: Chapter XIII - Dawn and the Truth, Part 1 of 2

This higher consciousness is what Sri Aurobindo strived to establish in his life, and then strived to help others around him to realize as well. “The Secret of the Veda” is well received by many as one of the greatest spiritual books. It is a collection of Sri Aurobindo’s various writings on the Rig Veda, its mystic symbolism, with translations of selected hymns. Sri Aurobindo offered an in-depth interpretation of the ancient Vedas made possible through his spiritual practices where he discovered the vivid allegorical descriptions in the Vedas. The hidden meaning of the Veda and its relevance to the Truth seekers seeking for self-realization and enlightenment is ultimately being revealed.

The Universal Prayer – A Poem by Victor Hugo

The Universal Prayer – A Poem by Victor Hugo

Oh, day! with toil, with wrong, with hatred rife; Oh, blessed night! with sober calmness sweet, The sad winds moaning through the ruined tower, The age-worn peasant, the sheep’s sad broken bleat – All nature groans oppressed with toil and care, And wearied craves for rest, and love, and prayer. At eve the babes with angels converse hold, While we to our strange pleasures make our way, Each with its little face upraised to heaven, With folded hands, barefoot kneels down to pray, At selfsame hour with selfsame words they call On God, the common Father of them all.

The Six Enneads by Plotinus: The First Ennead, First Tractate - The Animate and the Man, Sections 1-5, Part 2 of 2

The Six Enneads by Plotinus: The First Ennead, First Tractate - The Animate and the Man, Sections 1-5, Part 2 of 2

Now if there is a coalescence, the lower is ennobled, the nobler degraded; the body is raised in the scale of being as made participant in life; the Soul, as associated with death and unreason, is brought lower. All this is rather in the province of something which we may call the Animate. Now this Animate might be merely the body as having life: it might be the Union of Soul and body: it might be a third and different entity formed from both.

The Six Enneads by Plotinus: The First Ennead, First Tractate - The Animate and the Man, Sections 1-5, Part 1 of 2

Plotinus was one of the most influential philosophers in antiquity after Plato and Aristotle. In his philosophy, there are three principles: the One, the Intellect, and the Soul. Historians of the 19th century invented the term Neoplatonism and applied it to Plotinus’ philosophy. His metaphysical writings have inspired centuries of Islamic, Jewish, Christian, and Gnostic metaphysicians. The issue of happiness is one of Plotinus’ greatest imprints on Western thought, as he was one of the first to introduce the idea that happiness is attainable only within consciousness.
