A Recipe for an Apple Pastry

I’d like to share one of my favorite recipes for a lovely apple pastry with you Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) and line two baking trays with greaseproof paper. Roll out two vegan puff pastry sheets on a cutting board and cut strips about 1.5 centimeters (1/2 inch) wide using a knife or pizza cutter. Mix 30 grams of caster or granulated sugar in a bowl with two heaping teaspoons (5 grams) of ground cinnamon. Cut four apples from top to bottom into thick slices and remove the core with a small round cookie cutter. Generously coat these slices with the cinnamon sugar and wrap the pastry strips around each of the apple slices until completely covered. Seal with dairy-free milk to help it stick and brush some more on the top for browning. Sprinkle any left-over cinnamon mix on top. Set the pastries on the lined baking trays, ensuring there is enough room to spread out while baking. Bake on the middle rack for 12-15 minutes or until the pastries are flakey, puffed up, and have a golden-brown hue. After cooling, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. Top them off with a drizzle of vegan caramel sauce to serve!
