A little fix here and a little fix there keeps the home running smoothly. I have a kitchen maintenance tip for you. If your kitchen sink has a garbage disposal, it may become the source of an unpleasant odor. One simple fix is to use ice cubes and salt to help scrub away food particles and residue from the disposal blades. Just put a handful of ice cubes into the garbage disposal and pour in ¼ cup of coarse salt. Then turn on the cold water and run the disposal for 10 to 15 seconds. The ice and salt help get rid of the accumulation on the disposal blades, while the cold water helps flush out food particles and reduce lingering odors.
