Looking after animal friends requires us to think ahead. I have helpful tips for you today. Fireworks can trigger severe anxiety in animal-people. To protect them, stay indoors, even if they’re usually calm. Take them out for a walk early on to wear them out before the noise starts. Form a safe, quiet space indoors by selecting a cozy room, such as a bathroom or closet where you can shut the windows and blinds. Always remain calm and stay near your companions and do not punish or scold them for being afraid. Utilize sound masking techniques like white noise or calming music to soothe them, or even try calming aids such as pheromone diffusers, herbal treats, or anti-anxiety wraps. You can also try using enrichment-like chew toys or food puzzles as distractions. For those with severe phobias, speak to a vet about medication or desensitization therapy to be used when periods of fireworks are unavoidable.

Ladies and gentlemen, start your laughter engines. Today’s joke is on the way “Creative Costume.”

Thomas walked into a coffee shop on Halloween to find that the barista had a bunch of sponges pinned on her uniform.

“I’m assuming this is a costume… but just what are you supposed to be?”

“I’m self-absorbed.”
