Advanced technologies are being rapidly developed and expanded, bringing the future closer to our doorstep. One example of this is Artificial Intelligence or AI. “We speak of AI when computer systems perform tasks that usually require human intelligence.” One area in which AI is proving to be useful is in health care. AI has shown great potential in helping medical professionals structure and index the information necessary to analyze patient diagnoses and recovery rates. “AI is becoming increasingly important within medicine. It supports doctors when diagnosing diseases. Also, more and more patients use AI-based apps for initial diagnosis.”

In one of the latest developments, in January 2023, a team of medical researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US successfully developed an AI model that enables early detection of potential lung cancer risks. In another groundbreaking development, 3D bioprinting is proving to be an advanced technology with broad applications in medical research. In February 2023, it was reported that a team of medical scientists, also from MIT, had invented a 3D-printed robotic heart. In another example, a 3D-printed ear has been developed by a group of physicians together with 3DBio Therapeutics, a regenerative biotech company.

The 5th generation network, or 5G, is a new global wireless platform enabling high-speed connection to virtually everyone worldwide through mobile phones, computers, and other devices. In January 2023, it was announced that scientists are attempting to decode animal-people language using artificial intelligence. With the use of high-level computing power, the main goal of the AI-based language decoding system is to achieve two-way communication between animal-people and humans.
