If you’re looking for a little spicy addition, try adding chilis, also known as peppers in some cultures. I have a tip on how to efficiently seed, slice and dice green peppers like jalapeños. Before you start, I do recommend using gloves to prevent spreading the spicy chemicals to other parts of your body like your eyes or lips. Begin by cutting off the stem and halving the pepper lengthwise. Use a spoon or paring knife to remove the seeds and scrape out the membrane from bottom to top. Alternatively, remove the stem end from the whole fruit and insert a paring knife to work around the seedy core. Cut each pepper half lengthwise into 5–7-millimeter (about 1/4-inch) sticks, then dice these crosswise into pieces. Take care to wash your knife and cutting board thoroughly to prevent spreading spicy oils in your kitchen.
