The relationship, size, and distance between the Sun, the Earth, and the Moon, create the solar and lunar eclipses that we know today. We find much folklore and many writings about solar and lunar eclipses deeply embedded in our culture since ancient times. In China, eclipses were believed to be Heavenly signs that predicted an emperor’s future. In 585 BC, a predicted eclipse even stopped a war! In a battle between the people known as the Medes of ancient Iran and the Lydians of ancient Türkiye, a total solar eclipse was believed to be an omen, and led the two armies to a peace agreement, ending a five-year war.

Scientists today have the means to compute the precise locations, dates, and times for solar and lunar eclipses across the world, allowing astronomy enthusiasts time to plan observation. NASA, an annular solar eclipse can be viewed from North, Central as well as South America on October 14, 2023, and a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, which can be viewed across North America. Seeing a total solar eclipse is extremely rare, so if you miss the April 2024 occurrence, the next opportunity will not happen again until 20 years later in 2044.

On April 20, 2023, a special hybrid solar eclipse, where the Moon totally blocked the Sun, except for a shiny ring cast around the Moon’s shadow, occurred above the Eastern Hemisphere. This type of solar eclipse is especially rare, only occurring a few times each century.

Solar and lunar eclipses have certain influences on the mind and spirit of humans according to many cultures and mystics around the world. After a lunar eclipse, you may feel emotionally cleansed and have a clearer understanding of how to handle the challenges that manifest in your life. According to some cultures, eclipses represent a powerful time of healing. The alignment of the Sun, Moon, and Earth is seen to dissolve differences, bringing us together as one.

Let’s take the opportunity of the coming solar eclipse in October 2023, to collect all the positive energy on Earth to fulfill “World Vegan, World Peace,” and elevate the planet to a higher spiritual level.
