In today’s news, Japan promises funds for transportation development in Kyrgyzstan. UK’s ancient oaks in danger from climate change, US-based hygiene products company developing technology to replace trees with desert plant in paper products, coalition in Rwanda trains thousands to strengthen cervical cancer prevention, Colombian medical team evacuates newborns to safety during powerful earthquake, yeast strains with protein profiles suitable for human consumption identified in Spain, and storm in United States reveals alleged animal-people hoarding case.

Have you been doing a bit of vegan cooking lately? I certainly have – it’s the only way we live. Here is a tip for how to clean a burnt induction cooktop. For burnt-on marks or white mineral deposits, gentle cleaning is key to avoid scratching the glass surface. Let the cooktop cool completely before cleaning. For burnt residue, mix baking soda with a little water to make a thick paste and apply it to the affected area. Lightly dab or spray with white vinegar and leave it for 10–15 minutes. Gently rub in small circular motions with a soft microfiber cloth or non-abrasive sponge. For stubborn residue, carefully use an induction-safe scraper or plastic spatula, keeping it at a slight angle. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. For white marks caused by hard-water deposits, use a soft cloth dampened with equal parts white vinegar and water. Avoid using steel wool, abrasive pads, stiff brushes and harsh or ammonia-based cleaners, as these can scratch or damage the cooktop. Lots of love
