Ancient Man-Made Cataclysms in Our Solar System, Part 1 of 2

Evidence from NASA’s rovers and orbiters suggests (that) Mars once had liquid water on its surface. “In the oldest rocks on Mars, you see evidence of a once-powerful magnetic field.” What caused Mars to lose its magnetic field?
