Cold weather affects your animal friends too so here is a tip for looking after them during colder months. For outdoor animal friends, like rabbits and guinea pigs, consider moving them indoors if temperatures drop, or provide extra bedding, weatherproof covers, and 10 centimeters (4 inches) raised, sheltered enclosures with a sloped roof. Cat-people should always have access to warm indoor spaces, like an outbuilding or barn, with dry bedding placed away from draughts. Elderly or unwell dog-persons can benefit from a well-fitted coat during walks. Avoid frozen ponds or lakes and check their paws for grit or snow afterward. Consider booties for them if feasible to protect their feet in frozen areas.
