The development of low-carbon technologies in the cement industry is essential for reducing CO2 emissions. Elderly individuals, typically aged 60 and above, may face cognitive and/or physical challenges, requiring assistance with household tasks. Advances in robotic technology offer potential solutions. One of the latest innovations comes from a collaboration between researchers at Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, Spain, and the robotics manufacturer Robotnik. Together, they have developed an indoor mobile robot— the Autonomous Domestic Ambidextrous Manipulator (ADAM)—designed to assist the elderly with basic daily tasks.
