In this episode, we’ll uncover ancient traces of wisdom and delve into the profound energies held within human hands.

From prehistoric times to the great ancient civilizations, the human hand has appeared as a symbol of power, protection, and a bridge to the metaphysical world. In Egyptian culture, the Hand of Fatima, or Hamsa, often depicted with an eye in the center of the palm, known as the Eye of Horus, symbolizes protection and the ability to heal. Beyond its symbolic form, the image of the hand also appears throughout Egyptian reliefs as a channel of transmission between humans and the Divine, a conduit through which energy is offered, received, and harmonized with higher spiritual forces.

Ancient sages believed that the energy in human hands is not only generated by the body itself but can also be directed and absorbed from the universe. When one focuses their intention, the hands become a powerful energy center capable of influencing matter in ways modern science has only just begun to explore. This is not distant mysticism, but a tangible reality, one that can be felt and experienced by those sensitive enough to perceive it.

In Tibetan tradition, meditative hand gestures are a core part of spiritual practice, expressing the unity of Body, Mind, and Spirit. The “Body” is the physical posture of the hands, the tangible form practitioners can feel and perform; the “Mind” is the intention and visualization guiding the gesture; and the “Spirit” is the connection to one’s enlightened nature.

Tibetan yogis are said to be able to melt snow simply by meditating and focusing energy in their palms. Some traditions among Southeast Asian spiritual masters hold that when a person attains a very high level of energy control, they can exert an influence over matter in ways invisible to the naked eye. But how can we truly activate and harness this energy? The answer isn’t somewhere distant – it lies in the very connection between the mind and the hands.

In India, the system of Hand Mudras in Yoga and Buddhism is believed to activate the body’s bioenergetic flow. In Sanskrit, Mudra means “seal” or more simply, “hand gesture.” Each Mudra is thought to stimulate a specific chakra or bring balance to one of the five elemental forces within the body.

To help us understand this better, let’s hear from Sukhvinder Singh – an Indian certified yoga and meditation expert – who explains the elements represented in the human body.

Our human body is a unique creation of God, Existence or Mother Nature – whatever you want to call it. Our human body consists of bones and muscles which represents (the) Earth element, our blood represents water element, the breath represents air element, heat represents the fire element and the emptiness represents space element.

Each finger and thumb represents the five basic elements of nature. The thumbs are symbolic of the Sun’s energy, that is fire (heat) intellect and wisdom. The index finger symbolizes air movement and air circulation. The middle finger represents space and sound. The ring finger represents the Earth element, that is strength vitality and stability. The little finger symbolizes water and youthfulness.

The bioenergy or electromagnetic energy flowing in our body is maximum at our fingertips. When you join the fingertips with the thumb, then the power of bioenergy increases. An increase in bioenergy helps to achieve optimum balance.

This is why statues of the Buddha often portray Him in Dhyana Mudra, the gesture of meditation, or Bhumisparsha Mudra, the Earth witness gesture. These hand positions are not only symbolic but also practical tools to channel energy and cultivate harmony within the body and mind.

According to biblical teaching, the hands of a person are far more than physical extensions – they are connected to Heavenly Power. The scriptures portray the hands as vessels of God’s authority and a channel for His life-giving Force. There is a sacred energy inherent in the hands, as they are part of both Creation and the spirit of the person.

Consider Moses (vegetarian), for example. When He stood before the Red Sea, His raised hands symbolized God’s Power, and His staff, held firmly in His hands, represented Divine authority over nature. Through this simple gesture, the hands became conduits of miraculous intervention, allowing the waters to part and the Israelites to pass safely.

Similarly, in the New Testament, the hands of Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian) convey both compassion and triumph. When He healed the sick, touched the blind, or comforted the grieving, His hands transmitted God’s Energy and Love. Even on the cross, when He declared, “It is finished,” His hands were lifted as a symbol of ultimate victory over darkness and sin.

Beyond these historical accounts, biblical teaching invites believers to understand that their own hands carry spiritual potential. Through prayer and acts of service, the hands can become instruments of Heavenly Grace. When guided by faith, love, and humility, holy hands can heal, restore, and transform, serving as living channels of God’s Power in the world.

As we explore these traditions and faiths, a common message emerges: the true power of the hands is awakened from within. This leads us to the deeper principle behind activating the hands’ energy field.

Activating the energy field of the hands requires harmony between mind, body, and consciousness. It is not like the usual techniques people often perform through force or effort. Instead, it calls for a state of relaxation and a deep understanding of how energy moves within the body and the surrounding environment. Those who have reached a high level of this ability are not the ones who try too hard, but those who know how to align themselves, becoming part of the natural flow.

On June 21, 2024, Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) compassionately shared profound insights into the hidden power within our bodies – expressed through our hands, fingertips, and subtle energy points – and how it can be harnessed for personal growth.

“If you discover, for example, all this power hidden in the body – in your fingertips, in your toes, in your hair, in every little millimeter of your body – and use it only for your own benefit, or maybe your family, a couple of people, then you’ll be like living in Heaven. At least some Heavens. Maybe not the highest-level Heavens, but your life will be comfortable, smooth, happy, easygoing. But if you use it for bigger, multiple groups of people, then you might not be able to handle it all.

For example, as I told you, the way you sit, with complete-crossed legs with the thumb and the index finger put together and all the other fingers stretched out and toward the front, then you can control your emotions perfectly – if you want to, whenever you want to – so that you can maybe calm down in every trial or heart-breaking situation.

Everything in the universe has its own energy field – a magnetic vibration that is invisible yet always in motion. Our hands are more than just physical tools – they are gateways to this hidden energy, offering us the potential for healing, creativity, and spiritual growth. May you be inspired to explore the power within your own hands and use it to benefit yourself and others.
