In today’s news, United Nations refugee agency restores hope through home repairs in war-torn Ukraine (Ureign), Australian study finds widespread coral loss on Great Barrier Reef, South Korean scientists develop biodegradable memory devices, Portugal establishes new marine protected area, volunteers in Türkiye rescue wounded animal-people after wildfires, Icelanders and tourists enjoy delicious meals at Reykjavík vegan café, and animal-people shelter evacuates residents as floods in Texas, USA, surge after heavy rains.

I have a fun tip for you to turn your backyard into a water wonderland for your dog-person. You don’t need a big pool to help your furry friend stay cool and entertained in summer. A simple kiddie pool, a hose with a spray nozzle, or even a shallow sandbox with water can do the trick. Add floating toys, frozen treats, or puzzle feeders for extra fun and stimulation. Keep things exciting by rotating activities, sprinkler games one day, water fetch the next, followed by a day of just a relaxing soak. Dog-folk love routine, and these water-based games help beat the heat and boredom. A fun idea is to freeze toys or treats into a giant ice block and let your dog-person enjoy licking their way to the goodies. Just fill a container with water, drop in some dog-people safe treats like carrots, fruits, or kibble, and freeze overnight. In cooler months, fill the pool with sand or dirt to create a digging spot.

Now, it’s time to step into the chuckle club and enjoy some good vibes with the joke of the day. It’s called “Averaging It Out.”

A department store was burglarized and when the police arrived they found the burglar held by security.

“Sir, did you rob this store?”

“Yes. Yes, I did. And, actually, it’s not the first time!”

“How many times have you robbed it?”

“I’m not sure. Five… maybe six. Let’s call it five. Round numbers are easier.”

?!

And now we have a heartline from Patrick in Australia
